  1. I wasn't suggesting Jorgan wouldn't like traditional dinner dates; it's clear he does. I just got an adventurous vibe from him too. Plenty of different good times to share.
  2. Definitely! I like Vector, but Sanju was a great partner for the agent's Balmorra story. They worked well together. Can I just say, by the way, how delightful it is to have Bioware peeps responding to a fun, chatty topic like this? I've been hoping for more communication - and, while weighty stuff is important, it doesn't always have to be weighty stuff. Sometimes fluff is good! On the topic, my top 3 would be Felix Iresso, Aric Jorgan, and Theron Shan. Felix is a mature, low-drama guy. He listens, cares, and is respectful. He takes initiative in a relationship but isn't controlling. Relaxed and calm most of the time, but not afraid to stand up for what matters. He pays attention to his partner's ups and downs and is there when she really needs him. We already know he loves a top-tier comfy date of cuddling on a sofa and watching cheesy films. Aric is strong-willed and passionate. He isn't afraid to push back when opinions differ, but he'll set disagreements aside to handle a crisis. Loyal and dedicated, a partner can trust him completely. For a date, I'm imagining some kind of intense outdoor sport that gets the adrenaline pumping and might even be a bit dangerous - but he'll have prepared all the equipment carefully, so whole thing will actually be super-safe. Maybe mountain-climbing? Getting to the top, he and his partner will enjoy the view together. I have to agree that with Theron's work schedule a date might be difficult! It's possible his partner might have to be the one who does all the organising and basically brings him to it (so a date could be whatever you want). But Theron is such an appealing character that every bit of effort would be worth it. For someone with as many layers as him, it could be rewarding to be the supportive partner who helps him unfurl and feel human. Alternatively, if you're going for a similar angle to the SIS-loyal agent romance, you could work together on fun spy adventures and turn every mission into an undercover date!
  3. This is the correct answer! And to the OP: you're not imagining things. It disappeared from all my characters' quickbars when 7.0 happened and has to be manually put back to each character.
  4. I agree with this strongly. None of my characters have romanced Lana (beyond one agent who had a fling with her but dumped her when Kaliyo returned). If, instead of Lana, my PCs' actual love-interests could be there when the PCs wake up after a brush with death, I would be so happy. (If the PC in question has a LI, of course.) To save voice-acting money, it can just be a silent look of relief, maybe a hug - there are lots of animations and facial expressions "in the bank" at this stage. Not that I wouldn't love it to be voice-acted, but I'm trying to aim for something affordable that might actually happen. Even maybe put the LIs in occasional other cutscenes, showing they're there and they matter. For instance, when a story starts, my PC is sitting with a LI. Then the story's inciting incident happens, or is revealed. There's a briefing, and the LI is there too, listening. Then the PC heads out, giving the LI a nod on the way. Then the PC goes on a mission with whichever companion(s) are chosen as the key ones for this stage of the story, the ones whose voice-acting has been paid for. Just... sometimes... have the actual LIs be there. Silently, if there's no money to voice-act them. If a character doesn't have a LI, then a class companion, or some other prominent Alliance companion, could fill this cutscene role. Or just omit this aspect of the cutscene in the absence of a LI, if it gets too flowcharty.
  5. I disagree. I'm glad this was posted. Charles has been such a huge part of this game's development for so long - and has had such a presence in livestreams - that this feels like a community milestone worth noting. That said - to repeat myself a bit - more communication would be better. At the moment, it feels like there's an unhealthy cycle of not communicating much -> when communication does happen, a significant number of people react negatively (perhaps because it wasn't the type of communication they wanted) -> communication goes dark again (perhaps because the last communication wasn't seen as getting a positive response). Rinse, repeat. There has to be a better way of doing this, both from us as a community and from the developers.
  6. This comes as a big surprise! Thanks and good luck to Charles. Congratulations to everyone else on your various roles. Thanks for the communication. I hope there can be more going forwards. I appreciate that it can be hard sometimes, but that may be precisely when it's most needed.
  7. Pretty much. But I now realise I could've waited to do this with the upcoming Manaan rep instead. I didn't actually need to eke out my Shadow Syndicate rep (though doing so has provided my only way to keep getting rep conquest points before the Manaan rep is released). I'd like if BW made it possible to complete the Shadow Syndicate rep achievement outside GS, but at the end of the day it's just an outfit for one companion (and doesn't count towards 100% achievement fulfilment). Overall, choosing some regular easy conquest points over a companion outfit is pretty much a no-brainer.
  8. The literal text of those achievements implies no, the rep has to be max'd during the season. Unfortunately I didn't read the achievements carefully enough to be able to hit max rep during season 2. And I wasn't using max rep each week because I saw more value in continuing to be able to use a rep token every day for conquest points. Since all my other reps were max'd long ago, it was nice to be able to get rep conquest points again. But now Manaan is going to be available, I didn't need to artificially slow my rep progress after all. Still, it's too late for me to make the achievements now. The weekly limit won't allow it.
  9. That's weird. Are you certain? I think the 1050CC was listed in my ledger as a customer service grant. Maybe check your ledger and see if it was definitely 50CC? 50 is such a weird amount. And I can't think of any reason why they'd give different people different amounts. As much as anything, it'd be more work vs. simply granting everyone the same.
  10. Crystals are working for me in the outfitter. I have even tried the same saber with a bunch of different coloured crystals, and each time when I made a change in the outfitter it was properly reflected. Broadly I am having no issues with the weapon outfitter at all so far. Not sure what might be different between us?
  11. No, I consider it compensation. I received two months sub, after being deprived of less than two months. I also received 1,050 CC, even though the usual subscription CC were granted for the time I wasn't able to play. I suppose it's possible that these are intended to compensate for some future sub CC that won't be granted. I guess I'll find out as the subscription proceeds. In any case, I got more than I lost. I'm really surprised to hear that. Once I was able to connect to the PTS, it seemed clear that the issue was solved - for me, at least. Were you able to connect to the PTS?
  12. I got the compensation. As frustrating as this issue was while it persisted, I'm happy that it's been resolved. And I feel that what I received in return for the problem was fair. I purchased subscription time. I then wasn't able to use my subscription time. Now I have it back. Thanks Jackie and whoever else was involved in the fix and compensation.
  13. No idea. I haven't heard anything more than you have. I doubt anyone else in this thread has either. Well, except for Jackie.
  14. That's disgraceful and insane! How can they justify that? You were standing up for yourself against a bug and they threatened to ban you from doing that??? It's not your fault the game is bugged.
  15. Thank you! I am aware. I haven't had an automatic leadership transfer yet, because I have been able to log in periodically on a different machine. However, it's extremely inconvenient. I don't always have access to the other machine, it's extremely slow and prone to randomly crashing, takes a day to update whenever updates happen, I have to change my cable set-up every time I use it, etc. But at least it's been an option sometimes when my guilds need the invasion to be set or perks bought but the officers aren't available. I don't know if the fact that I have logged in on the other machine sometimes will stop me from being compensated for not being able to play the game on my Ryzen machine for all these weeks, but I guess I'll find out. I will say this much: if the Ryzen bug was never fixed and I'd only ever be able to play the game on the other machine going forwards, I would definitely quit SWTOR. Like, quit playing altogether, not just quit subscribing. The experience of playing on the other machine is a chore. And as much as we can get into unhealthy gaming habits at various points, something that's unambiguously tedious is not worth wasting time or money on. So I'm very much looking forward to the patch next week. I just hope it's not delayed. Putting up with this bug for more than a month already is enough.
  16. Well at least I got a reminder email from them that my six month sub is due to renew in 30 days. Strongly inclined to cancel at this point, but we'll see if/how the compensation works out. In the meantime, I'll think about the handover process for my guilds.
  17. I just got exactly the same email too. I thought this was supposed to be resolved via email, not in-game ticket? And why would they need to know a character name, class, mission, or level - the server issue concerns none of these things? I would be happy to do what they suggested if I had any sense that it was what Jackie said - since Jackie, at least, is aware of the actual issue. Edit: At least, I was assuming we could still create tickets even if we can't access the server list. But I just tried, and we can't. Instead, there's a message inviting me to become a subscriber! But I already am! Jackie, please communicate with the people working in customer support, since it really does not seem like their "specialty" right now.
  18. Are we really only a small number? It's a fairly popular laptop series, as I understand it. Still, that's kinda beside the point. I feel like, in the past, there were plenty of instances were fixes were applied at one- and two-week intervals. Why not now?
  19. Hi Keith. The communication is appreciated. Particularly the depth of explanation on some issues. However, I would ask that you apply a fix for the above issue in a small patch sooner than this big patch you have planned for March 22. I am able to access the PTS on my Ryzen laptop, and everyone else who posted in the dedicated bug thread, who tested the fix, said the same. You made the fix. Can we please just have it? It's been nearly a month now that the game hasn't worked on these systems. Do we really need to wait another two weeks plus, when the fix is just sitting there?
  20. I'm in disbelief that they have a fix but we have to wait more than another two weeks to get it. Why can't they have a brief maintenance and apply a small patch for this (and whatever else they deem ready and working)?
  21. Sadly, an awful lot of changes have the feel of "trust us, we have a plan, this is best for the game." Vs. what people who play the game actually want to do.
  22. Hi Jackie, I wish to confirm that I can connect to the PTS on my G14.
  23. I'm fairly certain it's a bug. I spent a long time messing around in 3d programs making custom content for Neverwinter Nights, so I've seen plenty of texture mapping issues in my day. To me, this looks like one of those problems. Thanks for your diligence. Even though I am aware of the other boots, I do still think this bug should be fixed. You said it's been around at least 9 years. I think it may be the full 10! To the best of my memory, the synthwoven version of this item was in the game from launch. But I could be wrong. There are likely some things that were added very soon post-launch that merge into my early memories of this game.
  24. I actually completely believe they haven't 100% decided when the next patch will be. There are tons of issues in the game at the moment. The longer the patch is delayed, the more fixes can be applied in that patch - but the longer people have to wait for those fixes. (And they can't be constantly having the game in maintenance or no one would get to play.) As much as I want them to fix this issue ASAP for the sake of myself and other affected users, I don't think there's an obviously best solution. There are only trade-offs.
  25. Thanks for necroing it for me, it would've felt rude a second time! This is one of those bugs that keeps surprising me by still existing. Especially since there's a cartel version of the item - and my personal experience (though this may be very far from the SWTOR reality) implies it'd be an easy fix. I continue to live in hope that it may be sorted soon.
