  1. 1. You would have to upgrade the augment slot manually. 2. BM mods do not have the set bonus, only WH do. BM set bonus is on the BM shells.
  2. 1. How do you think your Powertech spec is perceived by other classes? I play a hybrid shield tech customized for pvp at 24/17/0. I believe it's perceived as too weak due to the reduction in rocket punch and flame sweep since 1.3. The tank aspect is strong enough that I'm tanking pve in this same hybrid but I can't wait for dual spec so I can tune my spec for each purpose, pvp and pve. 2. How do you perceive your own spec? In pvp I feel running a full 31pt shield tech is useless in pvp and the top level ability isn't as cool as the other two trees. I feel the problem is the high burst damage from other classes and lack of true mitigation leading to feeling like I'm wearing wet tissue paper instead of armor and shield. I love the tank playstyle and utility but feel it's not fully expressed in pvp and I don't live long enough to be a true protector of others. Looking forward to dual spec. Considering trying pyrotech, but I love tanking.
  3. Yes, a lot of design resources devoted to making one tree out of several simply not as effective. Illusion of choice I guess. "Hey look players, you can choose among 3 trees, but we really want to force you to choose among 2 so we don't have to work so hard. Thanks!" Other classes have the same problem as well.
  4. Bring a commando if you want to use them as bait. 3-5 people from the other team will chase the commando trying to get an easy kill, and if the rest of your team is actually good you can get the objectives done and kill the rest while those guys are off chasing the easy kill. Just assign one of your healers to the commando so the commando can live long enough to be good bait. If the enemies you face aren't dumb that tactic won't work though.
  5. Commando healing might be workable 1. At full WH. 2. in a team with a scoundrel or sage who can protect them with hots or bubble so they don't die instantly as soon as interrupted/stunned. 3. Team players who actually peel off the healer. Sage healers have way more tools to get away, plus an interrupt and an extra instant-cast cc. Their instant heal is also on a way shorter timer, although a smaller heal more casts = more chance for a crit. A commando healer's job is to keep the sage up when the sage gets focused, not to heal the group. Totally agree with you on assault spec, it's pretty cool.
  6. Healers end up tanking in pvp because we're the first priority to kill, over even the tanks. Tanks in pvp are only debuff machines, and in SWTOR dps can do so much damage that even debuffed they can pretty much safely ignore the tank and go kill the healer first.
  7. With boost and your full level 20 pvp set gear that new players/alts can't afford anymore huh? Wow you're my hero!
  8. I'll give you god mode... *interrupt* *stun* *interrupt* Oh you just took 22k damage without getting off a heal larger than 2k from your one instant? Dead so soon? lol
  9. Or ungeared players. Oh wait I forgot that's the same thing. NVM.
  10. If you're hurting for a healer while leveling, gear up your ship droid. Main stat is aim, he takes the same parts as T7 but heals.
  11. I've had about the same impression, except that for me I just can't wrap my head around op/scoundrel healing. It takes quite a different way of thinking about healing due to all the hots, and you don't get the powerful hots until higher levels. Scoundrel starts off weakest but ends up doing almost as well as sage. On my sage as I level I easily do about 140% output of what I was doing on my commando at that level, despite that the commando had kolto bomb and the sage has to heal everyone individually until much higher level. On my low level scoundrel I failed to heal an boss fight once, came back with the sage (same level at the time) and could have fallen asleep it was so easy. Commando heals boss fights ok in pve but in pvp it's just insanely easy to get shut down.
  12. How are you all staying alive in full bm gear with 3 enemies attacking you? 1 BM dps sneezes in my trooper's direction and I'm down. Stun, lose 70% health before stun is up, next hit dead before my heal goes off, or my instant heal does go off but I'm still already dead because I got hit for another 4-6k but the heal was 2k. I mostly try to cast an instant heal on someone else before I inevitably die. I do about 50-75k in warzones, top deaths every time, and yes that 50-75k is pretty much only using Bacta because every other heal I try gets interrupted. Best I ever did in full BM gear was pre-1.2 when the sorc had full WH and I healed only her the entire match so she could aoe heal and bubble the group. I did about 320k and she did 600k. Can't keep myself alive through the constant stuns much less heal anyone else. I defeated a bad marauder a few times 1v1 but then his guild helped him get better gear and now he kills me every time using just 3 abilities - 5 if I use all the cc and breaks and cds I have in trying to get away. But if I use all those then I get killed instantly over and over for the next 2 minutes. If it's a group arena like voidstar tanks don't guard me because they'll die almost instantly from how much damage I'm taking. Are the enemies you're facing just not interrupting you at all? Not focus firing at all? Or are you all running with so many other healers who keep you up that you get a reputation for being unkillable then nobody even tries anymore? It's possible to completely shut down a merc/commando healer while the other two healer types still have hots going on that can save their team. PVP healing: Sorc :: Op :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Merc Either that or every enemy on my server is hacking to produce such constant crit damage... is ravage supposed to hit you for 70% of your health in only two of the 3 hits?
  13. It makes sense for Mako and Vette's personal stories as Mako was an underfed street rat until Braden picked up on her computer skills. Maybe she's just gotten used to not eating much. Vette was captured in a tomb and you think the Sith feed their prisoners well? Ha. Don't know about Kaliyo, would have thought her more of a type 2, maybe she takes too many stims and that jacked up her metabolism too much?
  14. When you get logged off afk while waiting for a wz pop then it becomes tough to get the daily done. When you lose 100% of your games for weeks on end it gets tough to get the weekly done. Without that little boost of actually winning (and I usually end up top 3 dps which is BAD for only BM geared) then yes you're looking at 7 months to get WH. I used to play all day every day, and am lucky to get 6 games in on my server. Slowly I've been playing less and less. There are about half the people on fleet that there were a month ago. Half the WH on Republic rerolled Marauders so every game is half-geared Pubs vs OP classes and geared WHs. Bioware needs to consider worst case scenarios for these things. BTW, don't play Republic on Vrook Lamar if you want to gear up. It's near 100% loss.
  15. Oh good glad they'll be active again, seemed silly to take them out.
  16. lol what server and faction that it only takes a few days to get full BM?
  17. Facerolling new level 50s while your entire team is in full top tier gear LEADS to boredom. I enjoy 10-49 pvp more despite no gear grind because most often games are about skill, unless you happen to have a team of lowbies without abilities vs high levels with almost all abilities. Even then, you can often still do something to fight. There is no incentive needed if the games are engaging and fun, and that happens when games are set up so skill > gear.
  18. If your server isn't dying, you actually get 3-6 games per day and can actually complete a weekly within a week instead of within a MONTH... I play several hours a day as I am disabled. Taken to being afk browsing while waiting hours for a pop, or playing my guildie's toon on my old laptop on fatman while waiting for a pop on my main so I'm not bored for hours on end waiting. Right now on my server it looks like 2+ years for full WH.
  19. Just be aware that in BM gear you lose the set bonus if you don't wear augmented BM gear. So don't do your custom look until WH.
  20. Actually, solo queue you're looking at a month for BM and another 3-4 months after that for WH if you're on a somewhat active server. If your server's not that active, you may as well reroll, it'll be faster to get WH on a new toon.
  21. Yes it's definitely best to just move on from these things.
  22. Crafting is way too expensive in this game and most skills don't even give a decent return on investment.
