  1. Never understood the change, especially as these points were raised prior to the change.
  2. Funny how much skill it takes to kill someone by doing 5k crits vs their 800 damage tickles. Woot me so skilled!
  3. But people are rolling on Fatman just because it's active they didn't READ the disclaimer and shouldn't be expected to! Who ever heard of someone being ganked on a pvp server! /tonguefirmlyincheek
  4. You have three choices for dealing with high level campers: Sit there and whine Log out Ask HIGH LEVEL characters to come to your aid So you are on a lower level planet, where do you think high level pvp players can be found? In general chat? Hah. Ganking is why I don't roll on pvp servers, I think it's pure cowardice to roll lower level players. But my pvp friend tells me that it's actually supposed to be an invitation to start a big open world fight. *Shrug*
  5. Since BM is still a free kill to a WH geared player, why bother paying for Recruit? May as well save the cash for gearing an alt and just grind to BM.
  6. Rank 67 full BM gear on one, rest are crafting alts with 400 skill, usually max pvp rank for the level but no other 50s. Unsubbed due to Empire favoritism in pvp prior to 1.2. Not resubbed due to lack of class balance, waiting out my time and hoping they'll fix: class balance/counterability, premade vs premade (ranked), free transfers and merges, basic MMO grouping things (whisper a guildie from guild tab, ready check, etc). Lot of potential in this game, wish they'd live up to it.
  7. Apparently once you gain weight it's hard to grind it off.
  8. I would say the Hutts make for an excellent third faction already in the lore. Could easily be a neutral faction hired as mercenaries, or give a rogue Hutt the resources to make a play for power on his own. Open world pvp needs 3 factions as a minimum to be tactically interesting.
  9. Thank you for the clarification. My objection to the multiple tiers still stands. It's needlessly complex. Just have one type of kit for each craft, add it to the item, and be done.
  10. Meh I'd rather just get the speeder I want to get.
  11. The current system they have slated for 1.3 has people buying augment upgrades from a vendor for credits. This devalues crafters.
  12. Ok so I've read the full writeup here and the system as slated for 1.3 seems to have a few problems. "Internally, mods make our items inordinately more data-complex and intensive than the items in the average item heavy game, and those complexities are compounded by a live environment." So then why add several tiers of augment slots which will add even more complexity? There are two problems with the system as proposed: If crafters are to be viable, then paying credits to a vendor for an augment slot upgrade makes crafters pointless. The system is too data-complex. Solution: Make it so crit crafting gives the base item plus an augment kit. The kit can be used on the same type of item - Synthweaving, Armormech, Artifice, or Armstech. Augment kits should only come from crafters on a crit craft. Augment kits allow an augment to be used on an item, no need to keep track of what type of augment slot and what augment is in the slot, just what augment is in the slot. This suggestion eliminates several levels of complexity in the database for: 6 levels of crafting mats 5 levels of augment upgrade kits 6 levels of types of augments on items 6 levels of crafting mats and kits in bankspace and inventory for the database to keep track per crafter It adds: 4 types of augment kits Categorizing augmentable items by craft, including social armor and boss drops K.I.S.S.
  13. Rift lets you move a guild free. You have to take everything out of the guild bank prior, and when people log on their characters they're informed the guild has moved to the new server, giving people a chance to get their mail and auctions out of the way before clicking "rejoin my guild" on the character transfer page.
  14. You totally have a point. I often feel that my characters would not say the thing that just came out of their mouths. It's made me give up on story for the most part while just doing pvp. I do class quests for buffs and to laugh at how badly Bioware changed a simple phrase from the choice wheel into something completely opposite. As a singleplayer game this would actually be amazing. KOTOR 1 and 2 were great, and had the same forced story rails. As an MMO it could have used more flexibility, but I think that instead of starting the project as a new game, they had a half-finished, scrapped KOTOR 3 they tried to shoehorn into an MMO to save their work on it. Any game developer knows sometimes you have to NOT save your work, scrap it fully, and start fresh. The goals of the development team in making this game were not to make an MMO, but to make KOTOR3 with a subscription. Several months later, it's obvious that had they spent their resources in a slightly different direction (spiritual successor of KOTOR but not with the same mechanics as the singleplayer game) this could have been even more amazing than it is. I think they did an amazing job. I also think they missed the mark due to attachment to KOTOR3. It's an easy mistake to make.
  15. Any dual-faction guild that does this is completely without honour. There is no excuse for this craven behaviour. Please report them for griefing. It is actually a form of griefing to throw a match in the favor of the other side or to collude with the enemy in a match. To do so repeatedly even when called out about it is bad for the server community. My guild tries to all be on the same side when we play, but if we accidentally end up facing each other because not everyone showed up on voice, we will treat them as an enemy. Guilds like the one you post about give all us dual-faction guilds a bad name and need to be reported.
  16. One geared sentinel and what was the rest of the team wearing? On my server I see one team of 3 healers rest dps vs a full team of dps damage done. Assuming equal gear and equal output, let's say 250k output each just for the sake of the numbers. However, with expertise, damage is boosted more than healing. Now, the dps of the healing team was at 1250k because 3 of them were healing instead. The dps of the dps team was 2000k. The healers output less than 250k each because expertise does not boost healing to the same level as it boosts damage, plus there is a native healing debuff in warzones, plus debuff talents. So the dps team died less because the dps of the healing team was reduced overall, without the healing making enough of a difference. I've seen this same result over and over since 1.2 dropped. Healing is a "feel-good" measure but is simply not as effective as just bringing another dps to fill the spot. The only way a healer is effective right now is if they drastically outgear the other team, and therefore have an equal boost.
  17. Are you in full war hero gear? Do your enemies instantly leap on any commando healer and use every interrupt, root, and stun they have, while making sure your resolve is not full? Then don't tell me to L2P when you have no clue of what it is to go against an enemy with a clue. Sage in less gear has more survivability to get away, and even then are having trouble getting away from the marauders. Oh I have heavy armor, that marauders can spec to ignore? How does that help me? Commando? Let me use my speed boost to get away - oh wait, don't have one. Interrupt... oh wait, don't have that either. Stun... they broke it and leapt on me, rooting me. Ravage, why is my stun not going off, I pressed the button 5x? Oh hey, now 3 other marauders decided I'm breakfast. Great. I'll just LOS around this pillar... oh. Rooted. Dead. ...How is that fun? Answer: it's not fun. I went from 250k healed to be lucky to get one medal due to 5+ marauders/juggs/operatives leaping on me constantly in every match. And seeing Sages in less gear outheal me because they can speed away and heal themselves where I'm stuck sitting there taking it up the butt. Tanks don't put guard on people who can't get away from the damage. I took so much damage nobody would guard me. There is no getting away from a marauder, much less 4 of them. Switched to dps and doing quite well, it's not a L2P issue. It's that my server has competition, unlike yours.
  18. Tanks are supposed to get all the aggro. Who gets all the aggro in pvp? Healers. Therefore, healers are tanks in pvp.
  19. So now bad Sages get to feel like good Commandos, and good Sages are still decent. Excuse me while I play a tiny, tiny violin for you.
  20. I don't play my healer anymore because it's a commando. Sure, I still see matches with 3+ healers ...on the losing side. To heal is worth less than to kill. 1 healer 1 tank rest dps is beaten by all dps. 3 healers 1 tank rest dps? Not a chance. It's not just forum whining, it's math.
  21. Free server transfers + accountwide legacy (name can be different on different servers), let the population sort out where it wants to go without penalty. Dual spec. Simple macros. Actual class balance. Purple Twi'lek. Oh wait, one thing? I can never have just one...
