  1. Another thing is to interupt late. This allows your cd's more time to cool if your in a long fight. allows more time between Force Charge and Disruption CD between interrupts. All healers run from me though.
  2. Im glad to hear somone felt the same way about the legacy powers only limited by the companion. Everyone said it would be broken if it was done freely. I say if you balance it right it would be awsome. I too feel the game is getting stale and no combat log is fustrating. Still thanks for the guide, I hope someone will continue with it or expand from it as the game evolves. I too hate that they pushed the 1.2 update to april. I don't feel they deserve my sub 1 more month. Don't know who Bioware takes us for. I would suggest everyone else take a month off as well.
  3. There is something like this already in 1.2 (I think 1.2 but they mentioned it) In your PvE questing you will occasionally get an token drop for another class, a purple item, gear, weapon ect. It will never be for your current class but you can send it to your alts who can use it and help your lowbie alts level up faster with better gear. Not exactly how you described it but it's close and servers an immediate purpose.
  4. First of all. It's not as simple as you make it out to be. First off unlocking force choke is only if you level up a Sith Warrior to 50. Also you have to set the Family tree a certain way to use it as well so it's not just a full circle unlock, you have to connect them a certain way in the tree. Even still it's only useable in certain situations so you can't use it freely in PvP situations due to needing a Companion. Secondly, the "uberbuff" is no different from the buffs you recieve with other classes before you go into wz. It's not as OP as you might think because you already recieve them in WZ's and they are only the starting buffs from level 1. So relax. Finally about purchasing the unlocks, according to the devs they are very very expensive and a good thing too. Not everyone is gonna grind every single character and class for the unlocks (We only have 8 slots). They realize a lot of people only like playing with their main and thats it so this is for those who are hardcore main users but unlocking the species would prompt them to make anew character anyways so it works both ways. To be honest I don't know what your really complaining about, most of the complaints your making were based off of misinformation.
  5. I sympathize with you and your fustration. But the problem with your rhetoric like many others who complain about some of the things in this game is that it's subjective. You say this is a problem but like many others have said, both teams have the potential to utilize this tactic. When facing premades your gonna run into this, thats a given. Your only hope is to form a premade yourself with some Sorc/sages to take advantage of this. If your playing with a bunch of pugs of course it's gonna be fustrating. You put the best PvP'er on a pug team I promise you he won't do half as good as he would in an orgainzed team. It's you vs the rest. Now try to look at this from a different perspective. Imagine they took this ability away or nerfed it in some way. How would anyone save you from falling in the pit, or firetrap or acid pit. or a group of player mobs ready to rip you to shreds. You can hate the sorc/sage but you can't help but love him too. Be fair about your assesment.
  6. Whats up SWTOR folks. I don't like really starting Threads like this due to the trolling, qq'ing and other stuff that happens in them but I did'nt see a discussion on them like I see about character unlocks and others. I hope to have an intelligent discussion because I think it's one of the many issues we have with the Legacy System. Currently as we heard at the Guild Summit. You will now be able to earn new abilities from other classes you play on your server. Not only will you be able to earn new abilities you can also earn buffs for those abilities. We heard about this earlier regarding the Legacy system but apparently people had some fears about this. Many folks felt that using these abilities in pvp and operations would cause balancing issues and favortisim in grouping due to certain abilities. I want to start by saying I understand. I think most understand that balancing something like this could be a nightmare. But when I heard this was the only excuse, I can't help but wonder, how do other MMO's do this? Because they have. Some of the folks I know thought it was gonna be a means of covering certain weaknesses of certain classes so you could gain abilities based on certain combinations on the family tree giving you a new power you can use anywhere that is now proven to not be the case. Rather than go on some qq'ing rant and telling bioware that I know more than them, I want to hear from the brightest and intelligent minds of the community how to make this feature more fesible if they had the choice so we can use some of these powers anywhere and not just solo pve. How can we balance it is the question because I think it's possible. And you probably wondering why do I care? Well to be honest, it's a worthless feature. Ok so I can kick an operative boss between the legs......I still need a companion and I still need to use a very specific buff with a long cooldown to use it. If these restrictions are already there, why restrict it to Solo PvE? So it's kind of a pointless ability and the very fact that you have to use it with a companion out loses the ability to "show off" as they advertise. How can we make this more useful? We alrleady know this can cause problems balance wise. bit what are some ideas YOU might have that can possibly balance this feature. I know we don't know how it works live yet so most of this will be speculation.
  7. I totaly agree with the OP here. Does'nt make sense that you have to grind the same character on a different faction just to play that race on the other faction. Just sounds like a ridiculously complicated Achievment system. I understand that MMO's are to encourage continuous play but this just seems like more work than fun. Nobody likes grinding unless it leads to a more useful reward that can be utilized like the abilities unlock for classes. Whats worst is they are allowing you to buy these features which is probably their excuse for sticking with this method. Solution would be to make it a token earned to unlock. Each time you play ANY class and reach 50, you unlock a token to that species unlock and choose the race you want to play. This will still encourage continuous play becaue. 1) You playing the race YOU want to play. 2) When you level up the race YOU want to play and level them to 50 you earn another token. 3) You get to pick another race YOU want to play next. Same goal reached, less of a pain. People are playing different classes and different races and you dont' have a lot of people raging at you (Bioware) for making them grind needlessly.
  8. sigh... Why don't people just leave peacefully?
  9. Although they said no combat macros they have a very specific rule regarding macros ouside the game. No Automation No Delays Must press the macro key each sequence (no loops). No multi-presses (automatic mashing) If you satisfy these conditions you can use macros to your hearts content. Meaning you could use it to do a quick mass buff instead of pressing like 5 abilities before you attack so long as there are no delays. It should be in the Rules of Conduct I believe.
  10. This is to the Mods, are you gonna post a Thread here asking us what we thought of the Summit itself? There are some things i'd like to speak on and render judgment. Somethings were great but others I felf was lacking. I did'nt go to the summit but watching the stream I can tell some in the audience wasn't happy with the situation. I'd like a thread on our opinion on what we thought about it so we can get you guys some constructive criticisim because I think in many ways it could have been handled better.
  11. For those of you who were not paying attention to the stream yesteday or hate numbers thsi is the reason the economy and crew skills designer talked about. Basically as the economy stand, there are a lot of people who are as they quote "Filtiy Rich." Which means end game sinks are not soaking up money enough. Until 1.2 comes out with new endgame crafting items they are putting a lot of items out now to buy for cash to encourage rich folks to sink their cash into the game to bring them down a bit. That is the idea behind the crystal and speeder vendor discounts. In otherwords they are way ahead of you when it comes to economy and endgame crafting. Thats why it goes away 1.2 so take advantage of it if you have the chance.
  12. If they lost 1 mil to 2 mill subscribers they would'nt have a game. Im pretty sure they have way more than 1 mil subs, especially with them opening their Aisa markets now. The friend system is just a way to get your friends to come along if they play other MMO's and not sure about SWTOR, now they can make a judgment without paying extra money just to play it. It's a great system and a great way to get people from other MMO's to try the game.
  13. Well, it's unofficial so until we get those patch notes or folks demoing the game comes back in droves with tons of information, im gonna take it with a grain of salt. I like the 3% heals but is that base? I think you can put points in there that goes up to 2% of your max health. If thats the case does that mean you can get oup to 6% of your max health back? That would be great.
  14. I need to ask, could you go over your rotation a bit slower, maybe with less spelling errors? Im not being a smart ***, it sounds like you got some good ideas but I just did'nt understand a word you said honestly. I just feel if your writing a guide for us, maybe take some time to write it carefully. I don't know, maybe your in a hurry. Again not being a smart *** just want to understand whats going on. Im trying to learn as much as I can.
  15. I would like to see Species and class unlocks via account as opposed to server. We only have 8 slots and I would like to reserve some spots for other species if I reroll. The unlocks can then be set for your chosen server but nothing more. Unless they create more slots it's gonna be a pain micro-managing unlocks for your new species.
  16. Would like to see some of the emotes and animations used in the trailers like in the smuggler progression trailer where the Sith Warrior was twirling the light sabers or when the smugger was running towards a group of imperials and hesistated before turning to run away. Some other things like walking backwards a few steps before turning away smoothly like a bad ***. Another thing which I thik would help PvP and RP is for Force Sensitives, showing the true stances on the VII Forms of lightsaber combat as well as differences in animation. If Im in Juyo form I should be able to hold the Double Bladed lightsaber like Darth maul, one hand and out. ect.
  17. Well now you see why I got all "hot and bothered." You made it as if I was being naive to see the bad as opposed to the good hence your "goggle" reference. Balance is always gonna be an issue in anything. As someone who plays fighting games competitivley it's critical there as it is in anything. it should'nt hinder a developer to make new content but challange them to make the game the best it can be. In short, creating something with no possiblity to expand on it because they dont' want to put the work into balancing these powers for PvE and PvP seems limiting in my view. I would have rather they not include it if that was the case and I think thats a fair argument to make. I am also open to restrictions in these powers as well, I never expected all powers to be available and don't think they will. Never the less, I apoligize if I seemed to have got upset with you. Again I am disappointed in the abilty feature, I think thats fair.
  18. Edit: No I don't have "rose-tinted goggles" about how good/bad ability swaps would be, one could say the same thing about you. No one even knows exactly how it works yet. Im basing this all on IGN's finding, it's premature speculation at most. All im saying is it seems kind of pointless to even include it. When was the last time you used "Heroic Moment?" It's cool for RP I guess but I don't RP.
  19. Then im wondering why include it if it has no real use for anything and is completly unbalanced?
  20. Maybe it's just me but im very disappointed in the Abilty Crossing feature being only PvE and with a companion out like "Heroic Moment." To me it seems pointless. I don't even use Heroic Moment like, ever, and if thats the case it makes it even more worthless during PvE raids. I was really looking forward to a Marauder with Force Pull. I like the other Legacy stuff but the ability thing seems pointless and only PvP hardcores seem to don't care about it. Im pretty sure something like this could be balanced in PvP especially if everyone has access to the same system. Just my opinion. Sorry but to me it just seems like a bullet point. Other than that everything else is awsome.
  21. Excited for the Legacy System. I wonder if it means an alt of yours can lets say use force push. Bounty Hunters who can throw Force Lightning? Crazy. Gotta wait hours though. Gonna go grind on the PST.
  22. Dot's and AoE's is the answer to your problem but they also need to fix the Tab Targeting system and make it more better. I hate it when I put DoT's on a stealther only for them to reappear and I have to cycle through several far and away targets to get to him and poof he is gone again. Yes I could mouse click him manually but even thats fuzzy atm and I don't feel like playing wack a mole with my mouse. Other than that, DoT's will make them reappear since any damage in cloak reveals them. I think we can give him tips without being so rude folks. Not everyone is born a PvP monster.
