  1. Was looking for a reason to cancel my subscription. I hardley play SWTOR and this will free up my money. I've been playing LoL for awhile anyways and been having a blast. Free 2 Play is the best way to go for a theme park MMO, I only hope that the "locked content" is not pay-to-win items. I also hope locked content does'nt effect the legacy stuff either.
  2. Well this is how I see it. I would say that watching the cutscenes is the responsibility of the anxious viewer. If he/she wants to see it, it is his/her responsibility to tell the group way ahead of time that they want to view the story. From then on you will get two answers. yes or no. If the answer is no then you can simply leave and find another willing group who wants to see the cutscenes. I say this because the group is at the mercy of the person who wants to watch it. While everyone skips the cutscene they are forced to wait till anyone who did'nt skip finishes. This is not fair to the group who may have already seen the story and just want to get through the FP. I feel the OP is just butt hurt because he got flamed for not hitting spacebar. But the way I see it is if you seen the story you should be skipping it regardless and even if you have not, you should consider the group who is with you and value their time. Two wrongs don't make a right. Treat others the way you want to be treated. This is a community oriented game.
  3. Umm, if im not mistaken an inquisitors cloak is Light Armor, unless you can convert it to medium your armor rating is gonna suck since you depend on Medium armor. Unless your doing this for Role Play.
  4. I see people are taking the opportunity to bash bioware by over simplifying the process of nerfing/buffing characters. Metrics yes, but it is much deeper than that. First of all if the majority of players complain about a class, nine times out of ten there is a problem (when there is smoke there is fire). people just cry that they are catering to crybabies when in reality they are addressing a common problem. Just because you don't agree does'nt mean the problem does'nt exist. That is the problem with the community in MMO's, they think the world revolves around them. I don't always agree with the majority always, but if my character gets nerfed/buffed, I have to deal with it. You also have to take into consideration that PvP is different from PvE. The roles are the same but the combat is more dynamic, so balance is harder with PvP, PvE is simpler because the computer will always do the same thing and is controlled and predictable. A scrubby Marauder and a Pro Marauder will not always do the same thing and the results are significant. Balancing is hard, give credit where credit is due. People complain about the crybabies; i ask those same people to give consistant feedback that argues againts the opposing position so that it would benifit the developers and help them make the right choices. Simply saying "L2P" does'nt help anyone. All it does is boast your ego.
  5. Well to me they just sound like spoiled brats. They remind me of a toddler that jumps up and down, stomps his feet till he gets what he wants, as soon as he gets it he shuts up, then repeats the process again when he wants something else. its the same thing here. "Fix this or I quit!" And rather than just leave peacfully, they whine like a baby and it is so obnoxious. The problem is the developers take a very long time to get these things out and fix problems, its not liike they can just snap their fingers and make it happen. Developers should always take off about 25% of their actual subscriber base because that is about the same percent of people who will leave in a few months after release. I have complained too but it was mostly about the Servers ( I was miserable) Moving to a bigger server was so awsome. yeah its crowded, people ninja your objectives, but it is a lot faster than when I had to solo Heroics by myself. That was a pain. Comic Con is here, we are gonna get some big announcments soon, people just need to chill and look forward to the good stuff. And one last thing, these guys need to stop crying each time a major member of the team leaves Bioware or something, that is just life, it happens. It does'nt mean anything, the game will go on without him/her.
  6. I've never seen so many impatient children in my life. Its just a few more days. GO OUTSIDE!!!!
  7. Be patient. And don't forget that they are gonna expand on the server limits soon via shards which should solve the waiting periods.
  8. It's coming back. It was very popular. The only question is when. Most likley they have other events in mind so they are probably gonna do this again during holloween (Only time I can think when it would make sense.)
  9. Just go to the server you have your eyes on and create a character with the name you want to use. If it excepts (Meaning it has not been used). Delete the character and then transfer your character when prompted. Do this on the day you want to transfer. Because you can do this you can create a character with that name then delete when your ready to transfer your real character. All and all, they SHOULD put a name check before you hit play to save time. Same with Legacy. I do agree with some of those options from DCUO as some people may never return for a long time thus should not get to keep the name.
  10. Not defending EA but understand that EA has no absolute say so in the creative approach in game design unless it is from a financial perspective. It is up to the company to produce games that will generate a profit. That is the nature of buisness. Cost and time are two precious things that decides what games will live or die. If a company does'nt have enough of either, then it does'nt matter how good the game is pitched or demo'd, it will fall below expectations. So when these things are limited usually the features and content is limited. This leads to the alternative....expensive DLC to balance out things. Im only saying this because people tend to bash EA for the wrong reasons. EA only impacts creativity financially not objectivley. So even if EA wasn't in the picture you might have a developer with plenty of time but not enough money. No body works for free in the video game buisness. It is an expensive reality even us gamers must come to realize. Money makes the world go round. Ever beat those games and watch the credits at the end with the developers pictures and some of them standing by their wives and children thanking them for 3+ years for being patient? Real people trying to please a bunch of spoiled brats and they harbor no ill will againts them. Careful who your mad at guys, not everyone at EA/Bioware are as evil as you make them.
  11. The thing is the trailer said new content is coming in July and this looks like a huge update like 1.2. As I said in my last post. Development is always months ahead of the last bit of content and altered as it goes to meet consumer demand. This was probably in development since 1.1.
  12. Game developers don't have ADD. They can balance several projects at once. A programmer fixing bugs may also be coding the next content yet to be announced, almost always a member of the development staff is wearing more than one hat at a time. In other words, just because you see new content announced does'nt mean that they put current projects on hold. We ding Bioware alot on things but multitasking is a common job trait in all areas of work, I doubt they lack the basic essentials of that job. You just need to have some patience and look forward to the new content.
  13. I find it rather challanging. Yeah it does get annoying if they seem to be in your everyday path to your dailies but I like the challange when taking on dungeons. Especially when doing dailies. I can solo Heroics +2 on almost all Dailies except Poisonous Stratagies on Ilum. And of course the Heroic +4 Daily on Corellia. It actually has me trying out different companions to see the best approach. It pushes me to DPS as fast as possible before my Companion is dead and all eyes on me. Nothing like taking on 2 strong and 1 elite Jedis at once with just you and your Companion. im having a ball.
  14. I always felt in this generation that they need to get rid of the leveling process in an MMO and keep everything else. The idea behind leveling was to simulate the idea of getting stronger in a role playing enviorment; it was how people knew how strong you were againts others, however, MMO's have moved into an entirly different realm a long way from table top Role Playing Games. It is all about the raiding, the gear, the pvp, and the bragging rights. I know it's hard to picture but I really think an MMO can be made without actually leveling up or at least get rid of the traditional method of 1 through xx number and focus on building on skills and attributes. more time for content and community building. Im mostly responding to the majority here that get tired of grinding through the same content just to get to the "fun stuff."
  15. I try, but most of the quest are the same. If you stay with the class quest then fine but you miss all the good loot and leveling is more difficult because your almost always the same level as the difficulty. Story for side quest is the same with slightly different dialogue and it tends to drag. Also the story while told well is just not engaging. It's just chatter about things you could care less about. After awhile you just want to skip through and get the mission done. Add really slow and bogged down methods of transportation and you jus get tired. You spend more time getting from A to B than leveling. Even with a game with a heavy focus on story it's still just a theam park mmo with fetch quest. I asked a friend who is playing D3 now if he wanted a friend code for SWTOR, he said I played it, got bored. I could'nt even argue with him. The highest I have is a level 24 Jedi Guardian as an Alt and is the only character I am commited to only because it's the Republic side. But after I max him to 50 Im pretty sure it will be hard to pick up the other classes. IF a lot of the legacy perks they are offering in 1.3 came sooner I might have been more willing. I do appreciate Bioware trying to make my life easier but..... They are just sooooooooooooo slow in providing content. And while my wallet gets smaller I am getting antsey and about ready to jump ships to other games.
