  1. I see you argument, but I think making them wait for the right level gives them more experience in game so they are prepared for it. As for suggestions a long term issue, that has not been dealt with in gsf is gunships. Namely their ability to attack at extreme long ranges. Essentially being a sniper with a 60 meter range. Nerfing them is not too fair to the players that picked up the ship. Reimbursement gets complicated and messy. So two suggestions came to mind, people wont like them but they would help. Unlike the gunship, the bomber has a specific strike fighter out their the Rycer, that can trash bombers with both Ion cannons and blasters. With this in mind I do not think Bombers need the same limitation in full. The q is already long for gsf, as the damage has been done, this may hurt the q in the short term. In the long term it would fix the problem. 1. Limit each team to only one active gunship per match via random draw between the people who have chosen gunship before the match begins. Possibly do the same for the B-4D Legion and Warcarrier. The drone and probe bombers. 2. The other suggestion tone all gunship long range weapons down to 10K meters and no more then 10k meters. This puts them on the firing line. It is a nerf. 3. The third suggestion is to put a one minute cool down on gunships/ B-4D legions/ Warcarriers when they are destroyed. Meaning they cant respawn for a whole minute. In fact two minutes might be more realistic. The purpose behind these suggestions is to close off the exploit rout in gsf. The gunships/B-4D legions/Warcarriers are being used to cheat the spirit and set up of gsf for a long time now. Hence why gsf always has been taking this slow death route. Another suggestion for the starfighter roller coaster, that uses class ships. The design of it was shocking to us old swg vets but in the end the thing that drove us nuts about it. Was it was solo combat. Maybe add a few maps that require a group of class ships doing a mission. Or perhaps a group manning guns on a class ship to complete one of these missions. The other thing re add the credit rewards to it, its not like it was that easy. Especially the end game part of it. Just some suggestions of my own opinion oh before I forget If your thinking about adding a op. Perhaps add a op involving the sacking of Korriban/Tython by the eternal throne before the expansion storyline happens.
  2. Gunships have killed gsf, but I am not going to get into that, the reason I said it op was because you mentioned charging gunship walls. The Proton torpedo is not all powerful and while locking on exposes you to the other team, they really arnt the problem out there. So I do not worry too much about them one way or the other. Bombers can be easily trashed if you have a ship with both blasters and Ion Cannons. I do not like the bleed through to the hull by charged plating so I dont necessarily go with that. Quad cannons have taken a beating because they were a solid weapon for the sting. The thing you have to remember about what weapon you pick is, dont look at it from the start, but rather see it for what it is as far as a finished upgraded product. Be carefull about going crit, sometimes depending on your target, you need to say break their shields quickly. As for the strike fighters, a really good ship class for dealing with bombers, and somewhat other fighters. The scout has proven to be deadly fully upgraded and containing thermite torpedo. I do not know if a hack is possible with this or not. So I will only say I once so a pub in swtors A-wing armed with Thermite torpedos blow the living daylights out of anyone on the other team Bombers get tricky sure you can cheat with them using a repair probe and keep ducking around the same little nitch, but they can be effective in other ways. Using a bomber as a long range attack boat to draw out the gunships is possible, but difficult, to be effective your going to need fully upgraded proton torpedo. Dropping mines in the middle of a furball can also yield good results. As far as using probes and drones, never went that way, it just did not seem right. I wish I had better answers for you on the gunship but honestly too many people go with it for the easy win. The result being it makes impossible to counter the entire fight. To those that have gunships. I am just trying to help this person, by talking reality. Please take a chill pill and understand I am just trying to offer them some advice based on my own experiences.
  3. I was a commando on day and one of the few I might add. We had our glory days with the cheat ability of grav round, when it was insanely op. You did not need to stack anything and could just shoot grav round. I highly doubt, but of course do not know the future, they will ever buff up commandos/mercs to where they can contend with force users on a level playing field. This disscussion I found, well looking up lore on the eradicators, says it all better then I could. It describes how people think when it comes to their pitiful force classes. About half way down the discussion some people start talking about how a trooper could never take out a sith lord. This is the arrogance of 100 percent play only force user person. In translation the force user is money for bioware, they arnt about to let a better class of player use mercs/commandos to devastate a bunch of force users in pvp. Honestly a level playing field would mean just that. So me yea it sucks but ill take the dps and do what I can knowing the merc/commando short comings.
  4. I think your position the cm is extreme but to each his own. As for the other thing, I do not understand what you are getting at? The suggestion for the fp was based on my own experience. I was doing mandalorian raiders at the right time with another guy. Two low level toons were added to the team, they kept getting wiped, and left. Me and another guy at the right level range finished it with our companions. I wont argue this point as the amount of pve I do is very little.
  5. On the qu part she is right. For a long while it was republic vrs empire, but then someone got the bright idea at bioware it was politically incorrect. So every couple of matches its same faction vrs same faction in wargame scenarios. As for the person claiming to be here since launch, did this not already get old, like beating a dead horse type of deal? Yea I rp and I already said I dont do ranked because it is based on arenas, they ever make ranked based on empire vrs republic warzone matches again, then Ill be right their for ranked. Until then no way in hell. As for the story, perhaps you all just conveniently forgot, that despite the piss ant eternal throne being their the empire and republic are still attacking each other. Yes it is a terrible story, and I wish they had just killed it after this last chapter, but they are not.
  6. Arnt you assuming that people have that kind of Real life money? My suggestion was based off of the monthly sub reward, on the premise that most people can not afford thousands of ccs on a regular basis. Grant it those that can will deflate the market. My biggest problem, and yes one could say this is a me problem, but its the fact that I have this gear in collections. I can never share it with another player if I would choose, despite owning it. I know its a rare thing but credits is not what I am after. If someone see for example down the road my starforged blasters, aka I call them robo cop guns, It would be awesome if I could pull it out of my collection and hand it to them if I chose to. -Another suggestion to fix a problem with flash points. Though level scaling is not the devil people are making out to be it does need a adjustment. The problem is way low levels are doing fps, that they should not be doing yet. Recommend you put a minimum level requirement on each flash point. this should cut back on the wipes drastically. The boost only helps so much.
  7. If I am understanding what your saying, I believe your putting too much faith in faction. Yes I do not support mixed faction, but your acting like one faction has a overwhelming advantage over the other. The problem with that is people are fickle. They change sides on a whim depending on whats going on. As soon as that Rogue one movie hits, anyone want to take a guess where players will be? It does not take a rocket scientists to know the republic side will be getting more players. As for arenas they do not help people to grow and learn more over warzones. Its no accident that people keep pushing arenas. Their is far less chaos, allot less tactical thinking involved, and allot less anticipation involved. This is why people cling to arenas. When it comes to arenas its pick the best class at the moment and face roll the other side the end. Yes their are some out their that could turn such a team to dust, but those are few in number. In a faction warzone it is a completely different story. Plenty of room to move around, 16 players decreasing the chance of overpowering classes running the match, anticipation required, tactical thinking required, and allot more chaos. The major flaws that warzones face, that arenas face also is mega healers. These healers that never die no matter how much interruption you use on them, no matter how much dps you use on them absolutely ruin a match. Off the main topic yes but still
  8. Not sure why your against the cartel market idea, as for cybertech do you know its history? A big thing for cybertech was creating speeders, and parts for droid companions. Speeders via cybertech has become useless due to the volume provided by the cartel market. Droid companions no longer require parts. Your better off picking up your gear from vendors rather then a crafter selling it on the trade network. Again what exactly is wrong by giving cybertechs jet packs to construct. Its not nearly as abundant as speeders are.
  9. Well so far I have been lucky and it has only popped once..... As strange as it sounds that free for all idea actually sounds like fun. On a warzone setting I believe it would be abused by the stealth classes, on a arena setting it would make sense lore wise, and maybe restrict only two stealthers in each match.
  10. I understand what your saying, as this is the main reason I do not pve, it always turns into that. The game itself would cease being a online game then. A few other things have come to mind 1. I was noticing that the Primeval custom armor Sith warrior is again rare, and the look is almost impossible to get now. Yet holds a key place in the lore of the game. I request you bring this armors look back for heroic rewards on Taris Imperial side. A full set would be what I am after. Yes I already have a full set of this gear, but I am thinking of the new players to the game. 2. Going forward I strongly suggest that any new armor or weapons that is added to the game in any form, be made custom. The reason for this is augmentation. The cost of augmentation is so high, no one in their right mind would augment a non custom piece of armor or weapon. On the weapon end, as I have already explain actually keeps the weapon useful, unlike a non custom weapon that becomes useless once you reach a certain level.
  11. If and that is a big if Eric actually said that about the idea, for once I completely agree with him. Yea thats right I enjoy pvp the most, when its faction against faction otherwise it has no purpose at all. The reason why I currently do not do ranked has nothing to do with wait times or whatever else people say these days, but rather because it is based on arenas. Anyone who says arenas is not flawed is either new to mmorpg pvp, kidding themselves, or playing a op class. Yes I enjoy a good solid immersion, no I do not rp in a warzone, but yes I want my enemy to be the republic if I am on my imperial toons. If I am on my republic toons, I want my enemy to be imperials. This is why I will never ever play a single match ever in that mixed faction wz they came out with.
  12. I do not believe this is real, as the language alone would not pass well for the Bioware Employee. The other thing is if it is real, I get the feeling this q & a was done under the condition of silence. In which case someone is being a well you know. Its got a feel to it like a internet troll.
  13. Another suggestion allow a player to pull a item or a full set of armor out of thier collection for 400 cc unbound. This covers the randomness of cartel packs, and the cost of a cartel pack. Since it is only one item or full set of armor it should not mess the game up. Cybertech needs allot of help. Possible fix to make it more relevant. Allow Cybertechs to make jet packs of all sizes and shapes. Just a thought. You can leave the special/chrome ones in the cartel market. Another suggestion is on Blizz. Two companions have always stuck out in game, one is Jessa as she is insane, which adds a fun aspect. The other is Blizz, a tiny Jawa shooting a freaking rocket launcher. My suggestion is you bring back blizz's ability to shoot a gigantic rocket launcher for the dps rotation. Have it do the same damage as the snipe/ambush the dps companions get. Instead blizz will fire big rocket launcher instead of sniping/ambush on the dps rotation.
  14. I noticed what the op was saying, and this may surprise people but I do not think it is a sign for this game. I know many of you hate swg players with a passion but hear me out. By the end of swg the game was sidelined by both SOE and Lucas arts. Meaning they never gave it a front row seat at its end. They stuck the swtor person up on stage next to the real big boys, front and center. If they planned on killing swtor they would have sidelined it. The other thing is with a portion of the younger population not understanding how bad f2p is, and companies greed at the top of the list I doubt they would risk making another mmorpg based on star wars. They learned a hard leason they were not going to pull magical numbers like wow by following the wow play book. Which means to me in thier minds its not worth it. So what do you do? Well you keep the only mmorpg you got based on star wars going. Also the new game set to be released in 2018 looks more more like a story driven game, based on that video of the event. Lastly I got major problems with what they have done in this game on a variety of items, but even when people are constructive about such things. It goes ignored. Just one opinion.
  15. I pvp at times, not like I used to, and I have done my fair share of pve over the years. My number one problem with the ops suggestion is its based on stats and thats it. This is the exact type of thinking that got a massive nerf bomb sent to the vanguard/power tech. The stats declared that full auto was not necessary. So now the baseline, 100 percent immersion ability of unload and full auto is now only available via merc/commando. This really put a kill shot into the vanguard, at least with the power tech your still using flames/fire, which makes it interesting. Lets not forget the nerf for those classes by way of range, everything down to 10 meters. My point is stats are a portion of the picture, but never the whole. If someone at bioware had bothered to use practical knowladge of the trooper class, they would have never removed full auot/unload. Trying to balance the game based on stats alone is a bad idea. There is a whole lot more to class balance then just stats.
  16. My problems with this expansion are as follows... 1. The story was a generic for all type of deal 2. They went way over board on this everyone hold hands routine 3. They did not add group content, as odessa wz does not count as faction does not matter, at least to me. 4. They eradicated 90 percent of the custom armor and weapons in the game, now thier is only one reason for this to push people into the cm. Although I support the adaptive armor vendor they put in on the capital worlds and fleets. 5. They went overboard on the one story again for the millionth time 6. Level sync not so bad, that I did not mind, but what I ran into on the way with a new alt was just dumb. They eradicated both Darth Jadus star destroyer and the cerzka complex on tatooine. You have to go a couple feet then boom your right at your objective. It was the sadist thing I have ever run into in a game. Not to mention all the bonus missions they took out and a few exploration missions. I do not know what they plan on doing after fallen empire but I do hope they plan on fixing these mistakes. On the good sure ok it was a carious story where you wanted to see what happened next but it did not mean I liked the story. Wild guess they are trying to turn this game into Kotor three especially what I ran into with Jadus star destroyer and the cerzka complex.
  17. First I said whatever is op at the time because thats how people role, and in a little square box you can not counter over powering classes correctly, but when you have room to move like in a warzone then it becomes more then possible. For all the talk that people do not know how to deal with them, you should be aware of the fact that 8 operatives can be easily stopped with 8 commandos spamming stealth scan. Yes it works Ive used it before on my commando in the rear near my teams healers to muck up more then a few stealthers.
  18. You do realize, that swtor lost a significant amount of its pvp population when they pulled warzones from ranked pvp right? You do also realize their is no such thing as ranked warzones anymore? There is only ranked arenas which are reliant upon the most op classes at the time. So insulting a bunch of past and present pvpers who prefer the faction warzones might not be a smart thing to do. Also op please ignore the people who are getting angry over nothing, you learn by doing, and pretty soon you will be able to map warzones out in your mind. What I mean by that is have a good idea where the enemy team will strike, and know how to hurt them back.
  19. 1. Put warzones, not arenas, as the ranked pvp 2. Add some sort of beast mastery component to the game, that is NOT tied to the cm at all. If done make sure the pets are full sized, but can not be pulled out on the fleets. 3. Make all Artiface and Armstech weapons custom, currently the weapons you can make serve no purpose, as once the level is achieved beyond their level they are useless and can not be used. Some great schems for Armstech on the republic side but like I pointed out useless. 4. Add a clock to synthweaving sith armor pieces that have a warrior look. To be more specific sets like the Darmassian Aegis. This will still allow the Malgus set to be sold for insane amounts of credits given it has a hood, but at the same time give the majority of players access to something similar via synthweaving. 5. Please have the heroic star fortress's added to the group qu Simple to the point suggestions.
  20. Going to go into a bit more detail.... Say your team is winning on the coast, just using that wz as an example, and the team hits mid hard. Yes I know its called south lol. Your team is winning but then suddenly you lose the other bunker, and you look to see no where there. This is a demoralizing moment for a team, and can kill a team in a number of ways, all because someone capped and ran to where the action was. Always remember, and this is where the people who claim to be the best often falter, the other team is not stupid. They are always looking for a weak point to exploit, and when someone caps then runs off its a dream come true for the other team. As another poster pointed out it is something stealthers really love. On the flip side if you were as close to winning as you claim, the other guy honestly was just being a spass and simply should have moved to counter the oops on your part. Anyone who has pvped long enough has seen this cap and run so many times it truly is beyond numbering. It has cost more teams a win then most other things.
  21. Vengeance is not for those looking for a standard rotation, but its more smooth then rage. Its essentially Juyo in that it requires you to stack bleeds, then spread them with the vengeance smash ability. Up top of that you have to keep taunting, and last but not least master when to use disruption. Combine all three aspects and its anything but slow, and the abilities not directly tied to vengeance but still useful and immersion effective. This is from a pvp perspective in pve taunting as a dps would be bad but the other two aspects most certainly apply. Hope that helps.
  22. I understand what your saying but I have tried this before. I dropped the quest on another toon, and I was unable to get it back again. I mean it was gone forever type of deal. Dumping this hoth one to do in solo would be mean all the supplies and what not I used to pay for the entrance, would be lost I would assume. I tried talking to the npcs at the entrance, and that did not work. As for the solo mode being tough, thats not the issue. The issue I ran into was bad mechanics by bioware sticking in npc in a area that could easily get a companion killed if they are knocked back far enough. That kind of stuff is out of my hands.
  23. I just returned and I have been messing a few things here and their in regards to the fortresses, however I recently have hit a wall due to bad mechanics. I am hoping their is a work around. I used dulfy.net but the information is sketchy at best. The issue is the Star Fortress "Solo Mode: Star Fortress Once you have completed Battle for the Stars, you will unlock the solo mode of Star Fortress for each of the six planets (Alderaan, Belsavis, Hoth, Nar Shaddaa, Tatooine, Voss). You can enter them via the entrance in Odessen by talking to Lieutenant Marklo. The solo modes are great for getting some of the achievements for defeating the Paladins since they are also present in the solo mode and it is much easier to do them than the [HEROIC 2+] versions." I tried looking up battle for the stars on dulfy but nothing popped up except this page. I am assuming its done since, I am now on the hoth star fortress. I tried going in, companion set to heal, and I thought I was doing the solo mode until I got to the Praetorian droid. Things were going fine until the droid knocked my companion to his death. I tried again and put my companion on passive mode when the npc started using said ability, but then the npc started using the ability on a regular basis with only seconds in between. AKA I cant fix biowares poor mechanics here that quickly. Now the mission itself stated I was doing the Heroic mode, and I tried a mission reset to see if a solo mode option would pop up, but nothing happened. Just to be clear I believe a mmorpg should be about group content but these star fortresses are pretty bland, and fighting droid npcs has gotten old fast. So I just want to get these star fortresses out of the way. Right now between poor mechanics killing my companion and no information on how this solo mode comes to be I am getting a tad frustrated. Any help from someone who has particle knowladge on the star fortresses and has done them all would be great thanks.
  24. Well the story is bad and it is only getting worse. For starters their emperor story is completely messed up. The premise is that Arcann wanted the throne, but their is many times between the Knight and warrior story, where the Emperor has been incapacitated for long periods of time. So it makes little sense that he would wait to strike until the outlander arrives, for the record I always hated that outlander bs. Now to the fan boy Revan even that made no sense. In the original game the Emperor kept Revan alive to learn the secrets of the starforge, however in fallen empire, it is clear that the Emperor already had access to that tec. This made plain via the eternal fleet. So again another original story making no sense. This also shoots the Revan expansion in the foot at the same time. As for who gets kicked in the nuts the most it is clear the Empire. The Empire should have been taken over by Malgus instead they kill him off for the sake of the Republic players. The Emperor should have been left untouched, but for the sake of the Jedi player base he was struck down by the knights. Honestly its been a bad run of story for quite sometime. Malgus being killed off was a bad idea but what came after was far far worse.
  25. Reason for death of pvp 1. Removing warzones from ranked 2. Putting in tiny arenas designed around the most op class, and making them the ranked. 3. Putting in a warzone where faction does not matter Now you want to add a number four to the list and get warzones nerfed? lol I give up.
