  1. To the op I would Hate for them to follow the route of star trek online, if they are going to revamp space, they should make it like swg. With a cockpit view, the ability to control your ship via joystick. Most importantly your survival based on your skill/parts NOT ship abilities. As someone who played sto at the beginning I can tell you they lost allot of hardcore star trek fans because they went that route with sto. Mainly due to the fact that the bridge commander aspect of star trek is key for making it feel like star trek. With the way they set up sto you were not commanding your ship from your bridge. You were just killing endless hordes with ship abilities. It got old fast. In swg you always had the project of working on your ship. Your ship could be a fighter, a gunship/pob, a interceptor, a heavy fighter. The point being working on your ship like that was extremely fun. Then taking it up and testing it in combat was even more fun. Figuring out the right mass, the right reactor gen rate, the right amount of guns, and the right ordnance. Just made it feel like star wars. That it why you need a full space sim like swg, its key to making star wars feel like star wars.
  2. You can laugh and mock me all you want but allot of players spent a great deal of time and money creating there pets. They also enjoyed it allot. Having your own pet it just beats a companion by a long shot. No this is not swg2 but it is Star Wars. Not ground wars. I am glad the devs said they will work on space, but what does that mean exactly? As for people being afraid of a full fledged space sim, that just goes to show why mmos are dying left and right now and days. People dont want to work for anything at all. On that last point I am not asking for a complicated setup of space parts, like we had in swg. I know that wont happen given lazy streak in players now and days. Players now would never settle for hunting for certain space parts for years just to re a gun or a engine. All I want is a space sim where I am flying a republic or Imperial fighter. Controlling its every move with my joystick. Victory or defeat being determined by my skill as a player and the parts my ship has. That the win or loss is NOT determined by an ability in game. By parts I mean it can be a simple system if thats what the devs want. Being able to choose a warzone well Ive already wrote my thoughts on that, I am not a merc for hire, therefore I dont like being put in a merc warzone like huttball.
  3. I realize the first two suggestions is not something that can be done over night. I realize there's a small portion of the player base that likes space to waste time. What you dont know is, I know some experienced players from swg that wont play this game simply because of the poor quality of the space aspect in swtor. I also know a friend from swg, who knows his old guild mates that wont play this game because of the poor space aspect of swtor. You have to remember three main things kept swg going, the sandbox, the space, and beast mastery. They were all vary unique, and they all portrayed the star wars universe perfectly space needs an overhaul. This game is star wars, space should be not a minor part, but a major part of the game.
  4. Ill put down some things to improve the game here, but honestly none of these are easy to do, but if done they would give swtor a more longer survival rate then now. The first is simple beast mastery, no i am not asking for something as complicated as swgs beast mastery was. Also I would like to point out to the devs, it was you guys who opened the door to this in your own story line. Simply put you have a player split his talent tree points between him and his pet. To ensure no op on the part of the Beast master. The other important item is make sure if you do take this suggestion, that the player base has access to rancors. Or the player base will eat you alive. Lastly i am not talking about mini pet companions that just follow you around. I am talking about actual pets that you name, feed, and use to tare your enemies apart. This is most fun when used with a force class. The second item, I have said it before and ill keep saying it space needs a overhaul to something like swg space. Plain and simple you keep it a tunnel shooter its not worth 15 bucks a month. Thats not a mmo space game, thats a arcade single player space game. Not worth it. If you want to keep the tunnel shooter around too, if you put a real star wars space experience in like swg, I don't have a problem with that. I don't think most people would. The third suggestion the ability to choose ones warzone. This random abomination of getting huttball 90 percent of the time is just plain worthless. When I play my characters in swtor they are ethere soldiers of the republic or of the Empire, THEY ARE NOT MERCS. Everything about Huttball suggest mercs. Especially with this same faction stuff. Let the player choose what he wants to do. Not be forced to do one thing or another. Unless I see a post requesting more information ill leave it at that. I have ideas on how to put in the first two suggestions but its not worth my time to write it unless someone actually notices its.
  5. Wow op you need to open your eyes. There is a Jawa hehehe, that posted a guide. The guide was sticked it lays everything out for you as easy as all get out. Its at the top of this page, read and then you know. Also you can sort you schematics by level or item level.
  6. Here it is again, you see these doomsayers on sto, wow, and just about every mmo on the planet lol. Heres a clue is this game what people were looking for, I think its a mixed feeling. Me I was looking for more sandbox, and a space set up like swg. Also a real star wars warzone with many players and something out of episode 2. This being said I also see the good. Swtor has some of the best animations to date, they also have some good graphics, and a good solid storyline. There crafting system is unique, and honestly I like it. As for 1.2 will you guys give it a rest, no mmo on the face of planet rolls out fast huge updates, and thats what 1.2 is its a big update. Not even blizzard has been able to achieve that despite there best efforts. I wont become a doomsayer yet not until i see lots and lots of pointless updates. So far I have not seen or heard anything like that. One last thought you might want to consider getting your heads out of your arse and look around. The legacy system there talking about is similar to the elder days of swg. Where a person could be multiple classes, with sub classes. Note I said similar, its defiantly not Identical. They are giving you a chance here to be a trooper and wield force powers via the legacy system.. Obviously not for pvp, because that would cause one major mess. So give them some slack. I loved space in swg, and ill keep posting in support of something like that, but even I know every mmo on this planet takes forever to change and update there games.
  7. I am just going to point this out so lets say they give you guys your interrupts, with our dps, what do you think is going to happen next? A big womping dps nerf for the commando. After this many years, I would have figured most players figured out how mmos do things. If it aint broken don't fix it. Meaning the commando gets the interrupt and it wont be long before someone starts a thread complaining about how op commando is. The next thing that happens, if a large group agrees with the poster, is a nerf for the commando. Id leave the interrupts for the tanks and let the commando worry about killing the damn thing. Lastly you guys that want the interrupts are assuming you speak for every commando out there, I can tell you thats not true. Its not your place to decide whats best for our class. Yes ive done EV. Had some problems leveling but i got them sorted out over time.
  8. I played a imperial alt to level 10, I went to the capital world, and first thought that popped into my head was wow. The whole thing was done way better then the republic side. On the trooper end we dont even have a hq of any kind. Everything is run out of the senate building which makes no sense to me. Sense that is a political arm not a military arm. At some point in the future it would be nice if they rebuilt the temple on coruscant. Sense its my understanding is that when the players start out its been a good bit of many years sense the sacking of coruscant. As for clothing Ive said this before in other threads, for the love of mercy give us some black clothing on the Republic side or some option to make black clothing. This is more for the Jedi. Ive also said this in another thread if the Imps had a trooper class I would be extremely tempted to go empire. No I am not a fan of mercs and pistols so Bounty hunter is not for mes.
  9. Tell you the truth if the Empire had a Trooper class, with a Trooper storyline, I would have gone Empire instead of Republic. When I play mmos I always go for the solider storyline, and not the merc one. Bounty hunters and smugglers are mercs. If they ever add a full fleged trooper class to the Empire I would be more then tempted to start over on the Empire side.

If I recall correctly upon reading up on the Jedi, it was not the common norm, but it was known for this time period for some Jedi to wear simple robes like you see in episode 1, 2, and 3. You also have to understand I think allot of people would enjoy seeing more of the simple robe like designs in episode 1, 2, and 3. Of course that is an opinion and not something I know for sure. Lastly all I am asking for is some orange armor designs be given to synweaving and armormech. What I am not asking for is a complete revamp. Something off to the side for those of us that would like to go that route.
  11. I am going to try to lay this on the line for you the devs as kind and calm as I can. When one of us who role plays like a Jedi sees the armor for the most part, the reaction is I want to puke. Now after saying that, I do not mean to insult your hard work, so please let me explain. The image of the Jedi knight what you see in Episode one, and episode three, as far as looks go. Is what we are desperately trying to look for. Simple to the point and not swamped by robes. Its also important point out that in return of the Jedi you had Luke skywalker in all black with a green blade, he looked pretty bad arse for a Jedi. Simply put it would go a long way if you put these looks in the game for Jedi Knight, Jedi Sentinel, Jedi sage, and Jedi shadow. Also please add some amor with lots of black on it. Sith are not the only ones that enjoy black clothing On to trooper, what I think a trooper should look like is put vary clear in the Hope trailer. I know you get a set like that in green gear doing the Alderaan quest line. I have yet to come across it in orange gear. By look alike i mean the red the white coloring the whole nine yards. This problem can be solved by adding a few more pieces of orange gear to synweaving and armormech. Not to forget my imperial scum enemies, but they might have a bone to pick too, but i could be wrong. Thank you for your time in reading this.
  12. I noticed in the vid for the legacy patch that there was something in there where you can change the color of ones armor. I was looking forward tot hat feature more then the rest, yet its not mentioned in any of the descriptions of the patch. They are still adding that right?

They release too soon and numerous things that should have been in from the getgo take months to roll out. Especially when a company like EA is on the label..." This player nails it perfectly. I have already seen posts of people talking about the decline of mmos as a whole, and this is the primary reason why. You get some bean counter, and some hot shot collage kid at EA who says we must copy wow, its the quickest way to make a allot of money. The only problem is they seem to miss the practical point, which is that wows set up worked for wow, because it was based ON Warcraft. For that world for that lore it was perfect. Now lets take a look at swg could you pick a more unique game design for the star wars universe, and a game design that gave you the feel of the star wars universe perfectly. Now all the years I played that game Ive heard so many rumors about what caused the whole mess . That wiped out a whole lot of aspects of that game. What I do know and I think most would agree with me on, is if that mess had not happened, and if the devs of swg would have been given the support by both soe and lucas arts not pulling the license. I think it would still be here today. It would still be the top star wars mmo. If EA and Bioware wanted to copy a mmo they should have looked hard at swg, and then put a twist on it to fit this era in the star wars universe.
  14. To the op speak for yourself, the current set up for space is pitiful. First and foremost this is supposed to be based on something called STAR WARS, meaning in case a dev does not understand the word in space. What am I looking for a revamp of space on key areas first and foremost the ability to control my ship, I dont want some DAMN computer flying my ship for me. Second a cockpit view. Third the ability to fly a fighter like craft, not just a pob. Fourthly some real space missions. The current ones are just repeats as you get higher in grade, parts wise, you just have to destroy more stuff. For all tense in purposes they are extremely generic. At least in swg there was some difference on each mission you took. This being said the current setup for space parts works for me. I would like to see a part setup as vast as swg was but given the nature of these.... people now and days they would never sit for having to work for years on ones ship part wise. Whats even more frustrating is the devs are putting more time and effort into operations, flash points, and mini pvp bgs for kids. Giving space absolutely zip. Yes this is a rant.
  15. Will there be a star wars pvp battle added in the future? Explanation- What I mean by that is a battle with 20 plus players, a battle with at-ats(( walkers)), a battle with at-sts, a battle focused on pvp not objectives, and drop ships dropping players off on the battlefield.
  16. Are you crazy! Blizzard nerfed every production profession in wow, to the point that it was bland beyond bland, hell blacksmith lost half of its recipes. The result was extremely boring professions. Not to mention you could no longer make anything that looked good, or was up to par stat wise with pvp gear, or instance gear. No that does not mean i am wow hater, i just hated what they did with the professions.
  17. Before someone goes for this insane idea, the mod commendation vendors are a must have. First of all, all my credits are thrown away on training, two because of those commendation vendors, its the only way i can mod my ornge weapons for both me and my companions. Take them away and i am royally screwed. The only people who will profit from this is the small majority that will use that opportune moment to jack the prices so high, that only the filthy rich will be able to use ornge gear. Then they will have what there really after which is not a fixed economy, but rather a status symbol for themselves. Lastly commendations are not in endless supply, you cant make them, you can only get them via missions. Meaning once there spent there spent. After that theres no going back to the comm mod vendor. Really guys after this many years of mmo play, do you really think people are going to be stupid enough to fall for your fix the economy speech? All your after is your private own status symbol. You are not after the good of the community as a whole.
  18. To the op, i dont really enjoy it, but i am doing it for exp, credits, and to upgrade my ship. In the hopes that the devs wise up about it. What i would like to see is more diverse missions, as right now, they are extremely generic. My second thing i would like to see is the ability to control my ship. Meaning stop it from moving and decide upon what course to take. I get hurt more in these missions by this set course then by enemy fire. Fix those two i would be ok with space. As for major aspects missing in space, to knowledge we cant form up with friends in space to take on space missions. Ive seen pilots form up for a space mission in swg, its a sight worth seeing. Except for a game that's call "StarWars" has a major lack of space combat. Heck i don't think you can even invite people to come up on your ship. I do wonder how committed the devs are to space combat, given they don't even have a forum for space combat. I know this game is new, so i dont have a problem waiting, but waiting and hearing nothing is the worse thing ever. We got that treatment on the long term with swg, hoping and seeing nothing happening. Ive heard rumors that they plan on revamping space in swtor, but nothing along the lines of fact, or confirmed. Lastly i would just say please dont follow the way of eve lol.
  19. That last edit might be my problem i have noticed at times the heals i got from my companion are not really there when i need them. Sometmes i dont get heals at all. Ill relook at her abilities thanks. One last question do you get the remainder of the dead eyes quest, when you gain enough loyalty with jorgan?
  20. The elite was the same level as me. Ive been using everything i got. For some reason when it comes to droids its like shooting blanks. Any attack on my toon that involves fire= quick loss of health. Maybe i overlooked something ill check out on my next day off. I just get really annoyed when i avoid heroic quest areas like the plague go into a non heroic area and run into a elite that wipes the floor with me every time. Like i said ill look at it again. As for gear my gear is crafted top notch armormech for my level. My spec is gunnary dps.
  21. I have played allot of mmos, the commando is supposed to be a ranged dps, or a healer. I went with gunnary. The last time i ran into a phase quest on quesh, i had to bring a friend along to complete it, because i did not have enough interrupts to stop the elite from killing me. Also given the fact that the commandos interrupts are all close range say one. That one interupt is broken when the target takes damage, it heals the target while its activated, and to make matters worse it also takes a good bit of time to activate. Now i am on hoth and again running into a elite i cant beat. I tried interrupts but he uses his abilities so often there pointless. I tried as the dps and my healer in healing gear couldnt keep me healed, even if i moved around. Hell i even tried using explosives expert as the tank and me doing the healing. Of course that didn't work. I am sure i could have taken both these elites if i was a jedi with multiple stun and crowd control abilities, that rely on one being close. The problem is i am a commando, i thought we were supposed to fight at range? At 38 i am about ready to give up and roll a jedi. Too many of these elites are based on being interrupted at close range when they use there abilities.
  22. First and foremost i am enjoying the game allot. This is the first mmo i have ever played where they make the animations like the abilities. All others i have played tried but dont really work hard on it. So good work on that. Ill start from the top and keep on going. I am truly loving the trooper class once you start getting him in trooper armor, everything just starts falling into place. I cant wait until i get him in 360 armormech gear hehehe. The other thing is, i am asking that you do not mess with the recipes for armormech. This is also a rare and most enjoyable thing, that i can craft whole suits of armor. That look the same. I am not one for this everyone looks like a clone garbage. Meaning i dont care if everyone looks like a clone as long as i can craft my toons a whole matching set of some kick arse looking gear. Some of us enjoy that aspect, i know i do allot. I am sure i am not alone. Like i said when i start crafting the 360 armormech stuff i will be one vary happy player. The story line was also done well for the trooper. SPOILER ALERT. I have to admit i kinda saw the defection thing coming. IT was still a good story line, and i get the feeling there's another twist to it around the corner. On Space I have mixed feelings on it to be honest. First and foremost the scales a little off. What i write now is constructive criticism to help you guys see what star wars players look for in space. The capital ships and even the cruisers are way too small to the players ship. I suggest you take a look at some old swg screenshot of the star destroyer they had parked in pvp zone. Even a pob/gunship was small compared to that thing. Secondly the players ships are based upon pob/gunships. So ill try to lay this bag of snakes out for you the best i can. In swg you had the cockpit view and the outer view. The outer view allowed you to see the outside of your ship the cockpit view or inner view allowed you to fly your ship from the view of your seat inside your ship. Capturing both iconic star wars views. This is the important part you could ether fly your ship or move around on your ship. You could not do both Given the companion system you have eliminated the need for player gunners on these pob/gunships. Actually that's a good move. So the view needs fixing. How your able to move around in your ship. The third aspect is freedom of movement now for some of us we do NOT want or care for a computer to tell us where to go lol. Swg had a nice solution to this problem it was the way point map. Every mission had way points uploaded into your way point map in space, you could then auto pilot to them until you could visually see the way point. In short if i want to go right not forward i can, if i want to go backwards and make sure i get that imp that just shot my ship up i can. It really brings a dynamic aspect to space flight like most games do not have. The fourth aspect limited missiles, i give good strong points for that, a ship should have limited missiles. I would aslo like to say i am not asking for the old component game that was in swg. Yes many of us enjoyed that but to be honest this is no lie, to get the right parts, and then RE them. Took several RL Years especially back in the day. I understand allot of people would not be happy with that. Finally if you take my suggestions to heart you can open a Pandora's box of a unending stream of star wars craft to add to the game in the future. Oh before i forget be sure to look up the nice handy v key, it let you know what components were damaged in swg, and how much countermeasures you had left, along with count on ordnance. The hud is also important for cockpit view as it told you where your enemies were and if you were going to get lit up like a Christmas tree by someones space bomb. Nasty pieces of works those were hehehe. Thank you for your time in reading this.
