  1. OP let me be clear NO!!!!!!! It was because of people like you the vanguard lost full auto and the powertech unload. It was because of people like you mercs lost there upercut and flamethrower. It was because of people like you assassins lost force lightning. Your attitude begs the question. If your finding this game too complicated because of too many abilities, then how on earth are you holding down a job? This button bloat bull drives me up the wall because all it is at base is a argument to nerf the hell out of the game and make it as bland as possible.
  2. Snipers at least are a straight up class, and I do not believe any body is complaining about them, because they take skill to use. In the right hands a sniper can pin down the other team in huttball. However it takes the ability to see the range from you and your target in your head. As soon as you click target then cover it will auto roll you to the nearest cover. If you do not click target gage range in your mind, you can nail targets at 35 meter range. Obviously though you want to keep moving. My point is most players could never do what I just described hence why servers are not full of snipers. If it was easy everyone would be a sniper. Then you would have every one complaining about snipers and mercs/commandos.
  3. This proves my point, a point I have been making for a long time, and I was hardly the only one. Four vrs Four arenas for ranked is a bad bad idea. Arenas can be too easily exploited in situations like this. Though 8 vrs 8 rank could be exploited by communities of guilds to gain rank rewards, at least then you did not have these arenas, that could be exploited in such a fashion. Not to go further off topic, but my main concerns are as follows. First that our dps is going to take a mega nerf leaving us less then what we have ever had before. Secondly if you look at the first trooper dev video it will truly make you sad at all the things the trooper and bounty hunter class have lost ability wise. Sure you could turn the merc/commando and vanguard/powertech into a overpowering seven ability class. The only problem is what would be left of said classes to enjoy? The answer for people older then 18 nothing, for children who love god mode, they would love it. Until they got older and understood just how stupid, plain, and boring that makes a class. The abilities removed need to be returned to bounty hunter and trooper. If they truly are ineffective by peoples and the devs standards then put them under a third tab, labeled non essential powers, this way the class does not get waterdown. Devs you can pat yourself on the back for cutting the delusional idea of ability bloating in this game. As for what is op and is not op right now on the merc. I already said my piece on that.
  4. It had a huge use, it was a terror weapon, no one reacts normal when there character is on fire. Its like missile blast for the merc. For a veteran maybe useless, against a average player, there instinct is to back off. Ive seen it happen many times in a warzone. Uppercut gave you movement around the target, which also set the target up for flamethrower. These are the type of things the devs do not have vision for. Take it as is, if they buffed up the vanguard/powertech and the weaker classes, they could avoid nerfing say the Juggernaut and Guardians. Especially if they gave the vanguard and powertech a 20 meter tanking range. Devs now and days eradicate instead of fixing. Nerf instead of buffing to bring balance. I do not understand nor will I ever understand that kind of mindset in gaming. I still think that secondary shield with reflect attached to it is too much. My fear is they will nerf our damage, even though our role is supposed to nuke people not tank them. That secondary shield is a tanking ability. This all the opinion of myself.
  5. I am not happy about this at all. The second shield/reflect shield is op/over kill in a major way. The only thing its setting mercs/commandos up for is a major over kill nerf. I am also not happy with the removal of stockstrike, or the upercut on the merc, and or the flame thrower. Every merc I have talked to is not happy about the removal of those abilities. Stop watering down the trooper and bh class. I even hear they removed even more abilities up top of unload/full auto from powertech and vanguard.
  6. Not sure where this info is coming from? As I checked the patch notes nothing there, checked the facebook page nothing there, which leads me to two conclusions. The first this is a troll thread, the second the devs said something in a obscure thread somewhere. Assuming for the moment this is is not a troll thread. Putting the vendors back in is both a bad move, and a insult. Over 20 pages of requests, and several threads full of requests to have all the old pve and pvp gear sets brought back and put on vendors for sale via credits. You the devs do nothing, but people wine about the new gear set up? You put the those vendors back in the game? There is two words for that. *** backwards. Second problem, the last being the insult, now they have to waste resources coming up with new sets every so often. Third problem balance will once again be way way way way way out of wack. For right now as one poster said no one has a huge advantage over anyone. The only people kicking arse are those with skill. Hint to those who are happy that the gear vendors are coming back. Of course this whole statement is on the assumption this was not a trolling thread.
  7. When you level a Empire character Malgus is at the center of the story. Then at the end we had to give the goody two shoes Republic the ability to kill not only one of the Emperors bodies but also Malgus? The Empire only gets kill two chancellors which is not anywhere near the same. If the Eternal throne did capture Malgus it is just one more reason to burn Zakuul to the ground. They are like nosy brats sticking there nose where it dont belong. Specifically the Empire and Republic war. They should suffer for this greatly.... If Malgus makes a return he should be the new Emperor he has the style, the Jedi Kills, and the personality for it. The new Empress like Marr feels like just another sith nothing great, just another sith. Just one persons opinion
  8. A few more items on feed back. I swear you and blizzard are constantly comparing notes. Anyways to the guts of it, the number one thing driving players away from mmorpgs is the endless watering down of there classes. The endless stream of ability removal. Whoever or whatever came up with the bright idea that removing content from a game improves a game, needs to have there brain examined. Assassin- Force Lighting gone- What exactly is more immersive in the star wars universe then force lightning? Powertech/vanguard- Unload/Full auto gone- What exactly is more immersive in the star wars universe then full auto on a blaster? Merc- flamethrower and uppercut gone- You guys do realize a flamethrower and using your rockets to knock something in the face with a upercut motion is merc to the core right? I bet if I dug into all the classes the things I would find removed. It would not have been any where near as bad, if you had replaced those abilities with something better, that fit that role. You simply removed from game. I was planning on making a few alts. Now I will be playing one toon, the only class that does not seem to have been castrated. I am not talking numbers here, I am talking immersion. Practical knowledge I swear it does not exist anymore. Anyone who would spend just a few hours using those abilities on those classes, would have realized there importance and there connection to star wars.
  9. So far I am not hearing much substance. My first main was commando, gunnery at launch. The off heals got nerfed, almost every class had a way of getting out of electro net and take zero damage, blitz was removed, plasma gernade nerfed into the ground along with sticky grenade, and lets not forget all too often people can walk right through a cryo grenade. So what exactly did they do that has all you guys raging? I have been on my Sith Jugg this time around because that is what I wanted to do for fun. I am carious as to what was the ultimate evil that the devs did?
  10. Got another strange one for you. I just finished the dailies on yavin four loged out to check if the bug on my alt had changed. Luckly it had and I was again gaining skill points. I then loged back in and the yavin dailies had reset themselves. Note I did these the first time around using the command panel. This happend at around 12:43 am cst Possible glitch? Did you guys change the time on the cool down, I thought the cool down was till 8:30 am cst .
  11. A few days ago one of my alts lost three levels went from 21 to 18, and tonight on a remake of that alt my crew skills for synthweaving were not moving forward. Yes i know how to move them forward, it would not go past 89, even though I was crafting gear with yellow or orange numbers. I should have been at 100 when I was done but I was still at 89. I am starting to think this issue is bigger then just one server. I dont know if this ill be fixed or not but I figured I should mention it.
  12. As I am sure others have pointed out op your idea is exactly how this game got into trouble at launch. It is also the reason why every single expansion is generic to the core for every single class. They went full on with voice and individual chapters for each class. In exchange the game was not finished at launch, lacked any sort of sand box, had a ton of bug and lag issues at the Illum faction world pvp area, none of the armor sets seen in the cinematic were in the game, and everyone was going through shock from what they expected, and what they got. They bet everything on voice and individual chapters and lost big time. Chapters are chapters but before they forgo chapters they need to get the story back to Empire vrs Republic. Dump the eternal throne/fleet into a dark abyss never to be used ever again. After that to improve the end game. Get rid of arenas, get rid of the cross faction warzone, and bring back 8 person qs for ranked warzones only. Though the arena lovers would argue differently the fact is arenas was just another nail that harmed swtor. The one chapter with a full scale war on voss, something like that for a faction world pvp zone would be awesome. GSF needs to have gunships dumped or brought more into line with other craft. They need to solve the raiders progression problem. Honestly given the direction they want to go, the last is not going to be easy to solve. Ask 100 people about the suggestions I just made and 90 percent of them will say no way. Simply because of the forum posters here are looking out for there class, for what they want, and not the whole. So for right now lets see what the devs have in mind. Betting the farm again on voice and individual class stories bad idea.
  13. I am and always was a fan of the Eradicators armor. In fact before the game released I wore a variation of i t in swg. A cloak of hate with mask over the face, that had a metal visor. The outfit also had gloves that were black with spikes, and composite leggings, with a red shirt. The version you put in the game was beyond well done, but when you compare it now to the Zakuul knights armor. You notice a few things it is missing. Now for a few art suggestions on this armor. The feet, hands, legs seem to be a tad too thin. This next suggestion may seem small but when you look at it, it actually creates a style around the whole set. The cloak itself is too small, it does not touch the ground like in the deceived trailer. There is a picture on the net of a statute of a Eradicator it puts into form my point, far better then my words. In fact cloak seems to be shrunk back a tad. If these improvements were made it would be exactly the same as it is now but much better. Also as far as raid progression goes. If you add gear in again for drops with top in raids, it throws your whole new system out of wack. I would suggest for the top operations, on the most difficult mode, that each week you pick a highly sought after highly rare cartel market item in the Loot for the bosses of said operations. Not every day commonly cheap items on the cm. I am talking the most expensive most sought after items. Each week you change it up on Tuesday. If that does not peak the interest of the raid groups I do not know what will. The important thing is you do not decrease the drop rate by putting garbage in the way. One of the item has a chance of dropping at each boss. I pvp so raiders may not like it. They have every right to say this is a bad idea or they are not interested. There call.
  14. I disagree The first thing I did upon returning was talk to players who are more experienced, and better then the vocal posters, who have there beloved heroes on the forums. Essentially they said its not nearly as bad as people are making out to be. In two days once doing a dailies and section x, and once doing a pvp warzone I picked up decent gear. Is it top end gear? No but I am not willing to write this system off until I at least use it for a month. More over for the first time in warzones you no longer have people going in there that are impossible to kill because of high end gear sets they got off a vendor. Everyone is in the same boat. No surprise a certain faction is getting roasted alive due to this fact. Pvp is turning into a skill activity. The best kind of pvp a pvper can hope for. Ill even go further with this statement. When a class is op its bad, but when you can gear up from vendors with ranked gear, it becomes a nightmare for all who oppose said person. The player might not even have any real skill or a real mind. Just able to face roll things due to the set up. You go legacy wide complete it on one toon, and pretty soon every alt you have is a mega hitter in the game. Essentially we are back to square one. This being said the removal expertise is obviously having a huge impact on this. Even more so pve and pvp are now on the same field. Neither with an advantage over the other that can be exploited. So what now? We do what we always do play the game with friends. Not worry about the cxp, when you get it done you get it done. In the meantime you earn gear. What is the problem with that? Like I said I am not going say its disaster until I have used it for a whole month. I really think this system may be the best thing to ever happen to pvp in swtor. Its weird but I am kinda of enjoying it The only thing I think devs should do sense they have gone this route. Is release all gear that was taken out of the game on vendors as custom, that you pay credits for. They should be empty custom pieces. This will keep people occupied for a long time to come. In closing this being not legacy wide is not bothering me as much as I thought it might.
  15. I would have to say this expansion was better by far. For one the Immortal Emperor finally started feeling like the creepy all powerful emperor we knew from the original movies. This does not mean somethings could have been done better. The first thing is, given the number of npcs one faces, the number of cinematic, and the number of minor mazes puzzles are not a good thing to add. There was three them. The first was mouse droid, the second the shield generators, and the last the reception area for the Vaylins speech. One would have sufficed. I know I know make the content last longer, but in my opinion that was not going to happen one way or another. For me personally I wanted this story done out of the way like a bad dream. I am getting ahead of myself... The shield generators were a particular problem mainly due to a couple of reasons. These reasons were first, you could be one meter in front of them clicking on them and they would not explode, but then you could be 20 meters in front them and they would explode upon clicking on them. There was even one point where nothing I did worked, then suddenly they all start exploding. All this under a three minute clock. The mechanics for this was bad, random, and the clock did not help. It was not fun in any shape, way, or form. When you faced aries the same problem happened when you had to take down his shield but popping the four generators that popped up. The mouse droid was also annoying mainly because the stun effect rand out way too soon especially when your trying to reach the second panel. Moving on, the warzones on the planets that you fought on, were well done. For the first time ever in this game I felt like I was stepping into a warzone into Star Wars. The only exceptions being certain aspects of the trooper story line. The downside, endless droids spawning at doors as a delaying tactic not really fun. Now to the guts of it. The story was well done up to the end. Look at this from a logical perspective. There is no way the Eternal alliance could realistically last. Yes its a scify game based on a fantasy universe but every good story always has some element of realism. A better ending to end this train wreck would have followed along these lines. These lines being you have the Eternal fleet destroy Zakuul, then self destruct the entire fleet, and return to your faction. Upon returning to your faction take up the role as a commander for your faction. This would have brought the game back in line with star wars, and would have had us at least getting involved in the Republic vrs Empire war. Lets face it the original story barely had us involved in that war let alone on the front lines in the thick of combat, especially if you compare it to the new expansion here. Instead your Emperor? Sorry but ill pass. It was more fun killing in the name of the Empire then this. If you do release a new expansion at some point. I would strongly suggest killing this bad story line once and for all. As players we have never seen a full scale galactic war between the Empire and Republic when they are fresh. Your characters start at the cold war after the initial devastating war. Thats my thoughts, and the opinion of one player. Oh and just in case a troll comes around digging up a recent post of mine, because they did fix a bug yesterday I returned. I was unwilling to wait till Tuesday.
  16. Anyways I cancelled my sub. Its Decemeber 2end I can not access the new expansion thanks to this bug. They bring the servers down later today to fix it then I will resub.
  17. Confirmed glitch. This stops a player from progressing to the next chapter, and there by getting them ready for the new expansion. It is 11:44 pm cst right now, and there is no message in the launcher about any fixes or maintenance. I came back because a old friend of mine returned. If this bug is not fixed by Thursday, there is a high possibility I will pull my sub and leave for good. It is important to note the game has run smoother then I can remember, but some of us have been dealing with bugs, and low grade content for a long time. I will not wait several months before a fix is introduced, nor am I prepared to bang my head against the table unable to move forward. Yes there is the veteran difficulty level. If I wanted to solo flash point boses multiple times, then that would not be a problem.(( Note said forced companion for this chapter is not even level 10 influence others are just not that one, and no I am not wasting creds and crystals to fix biowares screw up)). I will try the recommended get around when I get home from work Wednesday, but this is a hell of welcome back bug just before the release of a new expansion. If it was minor ok no big deal that is games.
  18. Wow was a solid game once, but now it also has put the chosen one into overdrive, which is one of the reasons I did not return for legion. Its not my thing. As for swtor, the only thing saving its lousy hide, is it is star wars. Does not matter how much money it is making. One event would break this game as easy as glass. If swg was relaunched to the state it was when it was force ably closed swtor would die. Swtor sub access class story end game content up to Kotfe pvp content, but dying a slow death eight classes with a rigid disghin and no room for customization at all easy mode for leveling gsf with pvp mini boxes controlled by gunships minor beast mastery tied to cartel market major cash store. Swg sub access Faction choice for any class, rebel, empire, and or neutral Jump to light speed faction choice, rebel, empire, and or neutral. Each spec having its own unique ships and missions. Full blown beast mastery, only two beasts from memory you could not obtain, because they were form the elder days. That number maybe as high as eight, but it has been a long time. Mainly the rancor and something else. Each class had a unique class story up to the completion of Naboo, after that you were on the same leveling path as everyone else. Guild cities City invasions faction war empire vrs rebel Mos eisly cantania and entertainers in more then one way. Skimpy that was swg entertainers Large planets that took about 45 minutes to 60 minutes to cross in a speeder traveling a straight line Quarantine zone with zombie storm troopers, most difficult pve zone at launch of said zone. You were NOT the hero, just another denizen in the star wars universe. Large ships known as pobs, think swtor class ships, could be decorated and be your house in the galaxy. Minor end game pvp at restuss Minor end game pve with only I think it was 6 flashpoints/instances Plenty of gear to go after, most difficult was the Jedi/dark jedi robes. Cloak of hate and shatter due to the 4/5 holocrons. Almost forgot bounty hunting other players, oh my word every time I got a bounty hunter killing my *** for a bounty, I laugh my every loving *** off every damn time. It was just too damn funny that people put a bounty on my head. Also swg bounty hunters had a style of taking down players, that you just had to admire. Due to the game design you could manipulate decorations to resize the building they were in, by that I mean the height or width of a room you were in. Now I bring this up because someone mentioned how great swtor is doing because of its income, however that income would disappear if their was another star wars mmorpg out their that offered half of what swg did via a sub. Swtor could be a much better game then swg, I have no doubt about that, but they would have to fix many things. Including the game engine for one. Swg was from a different time, a time where bad press, met your end. This was one of the many things that happened to that game. By ensuring that swtor was the only one running at the time they cut down the risk of total failure for swtor. So to be honest yes like I just said swtor could be freaking insanely awesome but for right now its surviving and thats about it.
  19. Op I will give your attempt a try but for the most part this will go way over these younger types heads. Swtor problem number one the engine, I can not stress how much of a killer this was during the days of the launch. Problem number two they dont back up what they show in the trailers. Another problem on launch day. Problem number three Star Wars IS NOT THE UNIVERSE OF AZEROTH!!!! Ever since the subs died out after launch, they have been holding to the wow play book, except in the one area they should be which was the sub. Made a huge mistake going free to play, which any veteran players know is not real, you will pay at some point regardless of the free to play claim. Those alone have hurt this game in a huge way. This next part will not be popular but it happens to be true. The kotor fan club, they demanded the devs make this game more and more like kotor. The result being the game has become more and more single player. You are "the chosen one" story line has been put into overdrive. Given the fact that is game is supposed to be a mmorpg it is not good by a long shot. The other aspect that has hurt the game, is the unending removal of previous tiers of gear from the game, and lately the complete eradication of the custom gear from the original game. Lastly space say what you will about swg, but you had to fly in certain areas a good bit of time before you ever reached the boundary of that system. Some of those planets had a upwards of 5 jump points for the space around the planet, and each jump point was its own box of space. Decorations being tied to fps/ops, and mainly cartel market is another thing hurting the game. As for pvp like you op I could go on and on about that subject, but its all been said. I will only say those trying to completely eradicate faction pvp will be the permanent death of swtor pvp. The theme park, and kotor solo chosen one bull need to be eradicated if this game is ever to truly take off. Or at the very least going forward should not be the way the game is taken. Almost forgot the current easy mode with companions.
  20. So I have been going over my vanguard of late and I have a few suggestions to fix it. The pyro spec is interesting in design but lacks the umph that being a flame pyro would have. This is not a numbers conversation bur rather immersion. I am not asking for a new weapon type but rather the abilities reflect something like this On the other end tactics has a flaw I mentioned it before but still seems to have it. The build up ability gets absorbed too much when fired, after you spend time building it up. It needs a 100 percent chance to hit the target, obviously your not going to want to let people use reload to build it up, so they come out of the game with a mega hit ability. The knife ability could use a burst damage buff for the initial hit. One last suggestion. I pleased to find the old first rakghoul event armor available again via the ambassador in the cartel bazzar. The cost for the armor is reasonable, and only requires work. This I am fine with, but I would request when someone collects the whole set, they can add it to their collections account wide. Given the length of the grind required. To be clear I am not asking that this armor be made a cartel market item, but rather it be made available to ones alts when a toon on their account collects it. Also it would make it available for ones companions. Thank you for bringing this armor back, but please consider the request. I am willing to work for it, but the alt, and companion gap for it is huge.
  21. Well it does not surprise me the fb club came into this thread, and started the shredding of the op. This being said the fact that the op did this with assassins/shadows does not help the ops case. If it was bh,trooper, knight, and or jugg that would have helped. Now onto the facts, you can run the numbers all you want, and claim companions were too weak before. The practical fact is they are so overpowering now it is a joke. I can handle any elite, most champions, all strongs, and all normal's np with my companion out. The only area I run into problems is a few champions and world bosses. Easy mode do not even try to say the game is not on easy mode because it is. Not only has the original game been eradicated as far as custom armor goes, I hold Eric responsible for that, but now its not even difficult. The only difficulty they keep adding to the game is puzzles and looking up at the ceiling for nav beacons. Not my idea of fun or enjoyment. This all started with that hk droid you could piece together, that had the one shot one kill ability, from that all this turn companions op streamed. On the other hand, given the fact that heroics no longer hand out good looking pieces of custom gear as reward for completion, I would not want to have to group up for them. They are pointless and boring now. This is where my obvious frustration and rage with this game boils over. The one thing this game had going for it, over that of wow, was it had difficulty to it. Now its been dumbed down, and like wow had numerous things eradicated from it. Unlike wow it never had the sub base or the expansion content to warrant such moves. So the op is not off saying this game is in easy mode. Here is an idea if going back to the way the game was is too hard for new people. Have you ever considered putting in a lengthy academy type phase for each class, I am talking a lengthy tutorial. Not a few missions boom you got your lightsaber, and now your a jedi.
  22. My personnel opinion I hope not. It really would be pointless and add zero content or interest in the game. I am little fed up with so much of the original game gear being eradicated. Not interested at all for seeing the leveling cap increased.
  23. Although some tried to bury and turn this post into a joke, I will not be so disrespectful. Guild ships are a huge waste of space, the only purpose they really serve is help with moving guild members around, and roleplay. Other then that they lack purpose. A introduction to what open space battles between guild ships, where guild members must keep their ships repaired and combat effective during a battle? This would be purpose. How be it a grand idea that will never see the light of day. I think the op hit on something he mentioned vendors to unlock and use? You conquer planet after planet and then what? This to me is the same thing that killed the faction illum world pvp zone, other then the huge lag issue, and the crater the devs turned it into with the gree event. Now say they had added special rep vendors, to be unlocked, and then you could buy unique gear by participation in said zone? That would have been purpose. So yea I agree with the op they really do need to start looking at what can we do to get people wanting to do things with their guild ships. As far as officers go op thats nothing new. Let a old gamer break it down for you. You either pick up young kids who will restore the umph your looking for, but at the same time abuse any power they are given over others. Your other choice is to pick up what I would call the throne people. People who say they want to do the job, and are willing to do the job, but instead just sit on thier throne doing as little as possible. In the meantime they enjoy all the perks. The last and rare is experienced players that can do the job, and will do the job. The only draw back with this group is they are mostly adults and have real lives/work , which prevents them from doing the job fully. So my suggestion pick up some young pups with your burnt out crew over looking their actions.
  24. I have mentioned this before yet it is still not fixed, and is one of the main reasons I have a problem with this event. The one where you must hunt down navigation beacons and clock them is not a bad mission. The problem is your map is giving the wrong area for these nav beacons. So I want to ask the devs how would they like to play a game and do a mission where your looking up at the roof the whole time, because the nav beacon locations are not just somewhat off but way off on the map. I do not need pin point easy, but the map locations should be in the relative area. Please fix this bug.
  25. Op the sentinel is probably one of the most tactical classes in game, so if you do master it, you will be one of the few that can. People pick it up and say yay two lightsabers I can kill everything in site. Thats not how it works, at least one of the specs relies on stacking dots, then at the end taking full advantage of those dots and hitting the enemy with a ton of dps. My first suggestion get out of the mind set of leaping into battle ever. This you should never do in pvp as a sentinel, the only time you should use it is if a enemy is getting away from you, when you are nearly to the point of killing them. The quick stealth is how your going to move in and out of combat. Do not try to kill healers, it brings too much heat, and some healers can have most of the team trying to kill them and still survive. So focus on other targets, unless your whole team is focusing down one healer. Otherwise dont even bother. Its like shooting blanks at healers these days. One last word of advice do two things always. Read the details of your spec, this will teach you how to stack up, and gain solid dps. Secondly read your passives in your powers list box. This will also help you. If you can start remembering those two things in pvp you will get a whole lot better. As for the other guy suggestion that dps should be weaker all around, the fact that healers can survive multiple dps interrupting them and dps them, shows that more dps is needed not less. A reversal of mind set how would people react if a dps could never die but keep dishing out dps? I would wager not good. This god mode for healers needs to end permanently . I understand if you want them to survive atleast two players but any more then that is too much. Suggestive fix a debuff for healers in pvp, that way the pve end of the pool does not get killed off.
