  1. Why are you clowns even comparing SWTOR to D3? They aren't the same genre. D3 is a MO while SWTOR is an MMO. D3 has remained true to it's GAME OF THE YEAR mechanics and has implemented a huge list of new features. Of course people quit this game to play D3, it's a blizzard game (there goes the WoW kids) and it's one of the most successful franchises in gaming history. This game died along time ago.
  2. Nobody knows what they are talking about on this thread, it's awesome. I guess this is the patch for whining 1.2.
  3. I dunno bud, I've never had an issue w/ gearing myself out in any game. I work fulltime, take some MMA classes, and have an attention starved GF. I probably get about 1.5 hours of gametime a night. I expected more of a grind from this game to be honest, but I had just come from Aion, so in contrast, this game was ridiculously easy to obtain PvP gear. I guess this topic is subjective. I like the game but soon as GW2 is out, I'm gone. I'm one of the geared people and I don't find this game anymore fun than the lesser geared.
  4. holy **** This is the easiest of any MMO to get PvP gear, doesn't take that much time. I swear people have no patience in this community, everything is 'NOW NOW NOW'. The patch has been out for 24 hours and people are already complaining about gear differentials, You are throwing out speculation without actually giving the patch at least a couple of weeks to see where these apparently incapable people are gearwise.
  5. You kidding? Every page on this thread someone is stating to remove PvP gear.
  6. Cool, so we agree. I dunno man, I just noticed you quoted me a few times so i was just endeavoring my point of view. I'm really just thinking that people who keep saying that anyone in full PvP gear really doesn't have any skill, it's just gear. I'm anxious for these people to get into rated, fully geared. Put that myth to sleep.
  7. I still don't think you fully understand, It's not a personal attack. Let's call it a friendly debate. Win OR lose in 1.2 you get commedations that can be used towards War Hero gear. I'm not stating that this system is flawed. I'm against removing PvP gear from the game completely which is what most people are positioning in their posts.
  8. The 'no lifers', you act like it's hard to get gear in this game and furthermore you don't personally know any of these people , so for you to speculate and try to belittle someone about their life outside SWTOR is immature and unjustified. I hope Bioware isn't listening to people like you.
  9. Lol what? I have full BM gear and I'm still in warzones or Ilum homie. Won't find me doing dailies.
  10. Holy ****, read my entire post. In 1.2 you'll have an opportunity to progress in rated warzones. If you're a new level 50, this is a great way to start in PvP because you won't be facing those fearsome battlemasters, not until you've acquired some gear and some experience. If you think removing gear from the PvP equation will somehow make you more competitive without having the experience, simply put, you're delusional.
  11. Actually, if you read half of these entitlement posts you'd see where I got that scenario from. It's not something I fabricated. Secondly, I've played competitive PvP in most of the prevalent MMO's. No forum is full of this ridiculous nonsense about removing PvP gear entirely. I PvP, I only PvP - I have a guild of 40+ PvP players, none of them complain. They enjoy it, and they enjoy the rewards for the effort they put in. You've further enforced my point by stating that ANYONE will be able to have the opportunity to acquire the best PvP gear in 1.2. If you have crappy gear, you'll be matched up against opponents with the equivalent, why is that so hard to understand? You then get to acquire Warhero gear, the best PvP gear in game, without having to face opponents that are better geared. The more gear you acquire, dependent on your ability to PvP, the higher you'll move up the ladder. Progression. I like progression in PvP, so do many others.
  12. You've quoted me like 3 times, anyways explain how I am missing the point exactly? Here's your scenario for the PvP centric player: I primarly PvP therefore I do not require any gear to do so, when I enter a warzone all statistics, regardless of gear, are normalized. Even playing field so to speak. Here I am in Ilum, in my orange and green gear, (remember I don't PvE) and I encounter PvE centric player of the opposing faction, he's rolling around in full raid gear. Who's going to win? Why should someone who 'casually' PvP's be on par gear wise as someone who's main focus is PvP. It's the same logic vice versa. Again, top tier teams will be facing off against other top tier teams, you have to work your way up the ladder, i.e. progression, this includes PvP gear. As you said, the reason you have to obtain better PvE gear is to be able to tackle harder content, this also applies to PvP. Its trivial at this point to get PvP gear, regardless of your play time.
  13. 'Not the case' isn't a very constructive arguement, sorry. Would you care to elaborate as to why progression in PvE and PvP is mutually exclusive?
  14. In 'early' WoW, PvP guilds could not compete with PvE guilds because PvE gear was substantially better. If in PvE you can acquire better gear, so should you be able to in PvP if that is your gameplay preference. It's clearly the casuals who are winning the 'it's not fair' threads on this forum which is perturbing, to say the least, that bioware is listening to this crap. There's a marginal different in PvP set stats, they aren't hard to obtain either. Gear doesn't activate my skills, I do and I do this well enough to defeat people in equivalent gear. When you hit 50, the real work beings, you are't entitled to anything, stop being lazy.
  15. I still think your 'infi-kill' spec could be better, but good video
  16. Sad thing is, most of these people in equivalent gear won't fair well in rated, and they'll be back to start more threads about how life is unfair. Bad players will still be bad, end of story. More 'powerful' gear should be given to the higher rated teams, those teams will be facing each other, not the lower rated ones, so really this whole disagreement is a waste of everyones time. If gear could activate all my skills.... oh wait it can't.
  17. Your math doesn't seem to factor in the 15 centurion commedations you get in each bag, meaning your post is inaccurate. Understand what progression is? Understand that you start at the lower tier of gear and work your way to the next? In very little time you'll have a good amount of centurion pieces, with a couple champion pieces as well, as it should be. You don't skip to hardmode ops without gearing yourself in tionese and then columi gear, same thing with PvP gear.
  18. I'm all for this. More PvP options will definitely retain interest in this game. Anyone who is aganist the Arena PvP format, you don't have to participate. Next; lets get some open world PvP objectives, sieges etc. that does not involve Ilum. Everyone who has been against this idea and has posted on this thread doesn't really have a justified rebuttal against the Arena format other than 1v1. This game wasn't created for 1v1's, so I do see the legitimacy of this concern. Balancing is going to happen regardless of arena's or not, don't kid yourselves. Rated warzone's are going to fuel this fire. It's just a part of MMO's, nothing unprecedented.
  19. So since I don't enjoy PvE, I basically have to roll around in green and orange gear with blue mods while someone who PvP's on occasion has full PvE epic gear. How would this fiasco work in Ilum? Or any open world type PvP? oh thats right, it wouldn't work. How is running PvE instances/operations NOT gear grinding? How is your point relevant at all in 1.2 where everyone has the opportunity to get the highest tiered PvP gear? Again, its easy to get PvP gear in this game within only a few weeks, if that... people are just greedy and feel entitled to something that other people have earned. I am not making posts about how I should get a full set of Rakata gear when I suddenly feel like raiding, or 'normalize' stats when i go do an operation so my PvP gear is on par with Rakata/Columi. Why not just remove gear completely? Everything should be cosmetic, right?
  20. Lets recap: You initially quoted one of my posts directed at someone else and called me a troll. My posts were on topic and addressing someone elses arguement, in favor of the ops suggestion, while my comments have obviously been opposed. I have nothing against you but YOU decided to make it personal. 5 hours is 5 hours, doesn't have to be consecutive. I have yet to see anything constructive from you in this thread, again, your initial post was calling me a troll because you dont agree with my point of view, thats fine. It's one thing to disagree with someone but it's another to disagree with someone with no real rebuttal and just call them a 'troll'. Last, you don't have to justify your life to me, there just isn't a point disclosing your life outside of the game. EDIT: also, my point of view isn't mine alone, there are other people on this thread that agree. I also have a guild of 40+ PvP centric players that share my outlook.
  21. I don't get why you keep referring to me as a 'troll', I have a hard time believing you are a responsible adult when your comments are those of a 12 year old. You are a casual gamer who games for 5 hours a night? That's casual? I like your comment though, 'doesn't take much effort'. I could say that about PvP gear after the last patch, you wouldn't have to play half that long in order to gear yourself out appropriately for PvP. I'm pretty sure you decided to 'troll' me first but I guess via the interwebs, opinions of others that dispute your own is considered 'trolling'.
  22. Probably due to your lack of intellect, whats your point exactly? You have the time to make 3 level 50's but somehow you dont have the time to gear them out, makes sense.
  23. You 'think' that, but you didn't read his post apparently, thanks for stopping by.
  24. I'm not missing anything, look at your original post. You can't insult my intelligence if you dont exhibit some of your own.
