  1. thats b/c they do too much damage output from ranged where they cant be targetted and spam knockbacks on ppl but drop like a fly when ppl switch focus to them solution: nerf their dps output and upp their survivability
  2. and bad players like yourself can have fun grinding rank 80 on every alt chars you make (yes. really, have FUN since u must LOVE GRINDING), while i move on to play another mmo and have a real life. After all, HOURS GRINDED should be >>> SKILL in this game. One part i agree about your post: yes i agree, devs should stop listening to bad players (such as the one who made this ridiculous suggestion) Cya, and bad players are bad :s
  3. this is why they need to add arena oh wait! all the bad players will object b/c they claim it'll make the game 'unbalanced', just because theyre bad at arena themselves theyre doing it b/c they prefer to do 'objectives' than do real pvp if that happens i just get off the objective myself (even if i got head start) and CC incoming enemy players for those bad players to complete the cap. then at the end of the game, those bad players will brag how they 'did all the objectives' and how i 'did nothing'
  4. -Blizzard never used arena to balance their game, they used PVE dps meter and amount of QQ on pvp forum as a measure to balance classes. Arena should NEVER be the blame behind class imbalance in wow. In fact they SHOULD have used arena to balance the game -In cataclysm wow, you can only play bg/rbg's and get same gear as arena
  5. i hit lvl50 on my shadow tank last weekend, andwas able to do #1 damage and #1 prot in some of the games on the same day i hit lvl50 (in blue gear) try harder noob
  6. yea tanks should be roughly equal (50:50 win ratio) to dps's in 1v1. not because of damage, but just because they can survive longer and outlast the dps, plus they have more cc's / stuns that way tanks will still be balanced in the team play. I.E. In large group PvP like warzones and such, u cant replace all dps's in the teams with tank classes b/c the team will end up lacking in damage output to outdps the enemy heals. likewise team with only dpses+healer will be inferior to balanced team with tank+dpses+healer because they lack guards and taunts. and i also believe that way even in 3v3 setting tank+dps+healer teams can also be roughly equal to dps+dps+healer teams. one side has better defensive capabilities while other has raw dps power
  7. they were prob nerfed cuz they also had higher unbalanced pve dps and they sometimes fix ridiculously overpowered / unbalanced stuff if enough people (mostly bad battleground pvpers) QQ about it. kind of like what SWTOR pvp forums did to 1.0 operatives but no they never balance around arenas
  8. stop posting these b/c that is so inaccurate in every way in fact i WISH blizzard balanced games around arena / pvp. reason classes ended up being broken in wow was because they only balanced around PVE dps and healing. they cared nothing about pvp - something would be broken or have overpowered mechanic in PVP, and it would stay like that for rest of the expansion. in fact game broke because blizzard neglected arena as if it doesnt exist
  9. sometimes i wish bioware can hire me to be a lead pvp dev
  10. one of the purpose of arena is so that we can study all the matchups and can precisely pinpoint which classes are overpowered / exactly how much theyre overpowered (what % of time do they win arena?), so that they can be adjusted itd b much more preferable to have the game balanced around proven win ratios / statistics / numbers, and not around whiners on the forums once they add arena and start balancing around statistics, you wont be seeing much cookie cutter premade comps in WZ's either
  11. yea i definitely agree skill cap in SWTOR is vastly lower than that in WOW but people said the same thing about starcraft 2 when it came out. SC2 has far lower skill cap than original starcraft - but still skill gradient exists that even high masters ~low grand masters level player will rarely if ever take a game from top notch GSL players. IMO more skilled players will always excel over lesser skilled players, even in games with lower skill cap if anything, lower skill cap in SWTOR will ease the barrier of entry to competitive pvp, and make arenas more popular than it was in WoW where top level play was restricted to small community of players
  12. taunts are also one thing i like about swtor pvp system, it is a great way to peel and assist teammates it will have very good place in swtor arena
  13. this and to people in this thread that tell us to "go back to wow": no, we're not going back to wow. blizzard is a terrible game company that cares nothing about pvp balance, and never listens to the community
  14. yea i also suggested balancing 1v1 in the game through addition and analysis of 1v1 arena there are only 36 matchups in the game that can be studied, and less than half of them are truely 'unbalanced' at the moment in my opinion
  15. If you are good, there shouldn't be any comp disadvantage you cannot overcome. This years blizzcon was won by pala+hunter+DK (underpowered comp that no one runs at tournament levels), which ended up defeating top notch mage+lock+shaman (FOTM comp of cataclysm) in DALARAN ARENA (absolutely worst map for hunters). Below is screenshot of me beating the same mage+lock+shaman that won 2nd place in blizzcon this year. I was playing on undergeared (1 season behind) DK, weaker melee cleave comp. http://i41.tinypic.com/1zno5dw.jpg P.S. that is not my DK, it is my guildie's account i was playing on because i was selling him arena rating.
