  1. Why? It reeks of "I killed a Jedi and took his lightsaber."
  2. Here is some magic for ya; give us something to aim for, plain and simple. In the current state of the game there is nothing to achieve, nothing to aim for, nothing to do. PvP is useless, PvE is useless, even guilds are useless other than serving as secondary friend lists. See how easy it is? But no, BW has to spend more time "innovating" industry standards. By innovate I mean break rofl.
  3. I wouldn't say a darn thing. I would punch the dude in the face, turn around and leave.
  4. Noob comment, if you had bothered playing a couple of MMOs you would know that pretty much all modern MMOs out there have simple features such as combat logs or even a guild bank (lol) at launch. A GUILD BANK, haha. How a major AAA MMO didn't manage to incorporate something as simple as a guild bank at launch is utterly ridiculous. PvE in this game is pointless. PvP is pointless. The orange gear system/customization is pointless as every other MMO does it better. Even guilds are pointless. For a faction based MMO that's not very promising. Can you please tell me which advantages there are to joining a guild other than having a secondary friend list? Atm. there are none - just drawbacks (longer queue times etc). We're in 2012, if that's not fail then I dunno what fail is. What's even more fail is adding simply, common MMO features over time and introducing them as new and innovative. Fact is, the beta that I played was a far richer and better game than the current state of TOR. Removing items and nerfing the s*** out of everything doesn't make TOR a better game, it only adds to the disappointment. So does introducing patches that doesn't fix the stuff mentioned in the patch notes and on top of it, introduces new design flaws, bug and exploits instead. A red light should be lighting up in your head by now.
  5. It's a **** game, what is there not to understand? Even guilds have no function other than acting as a secondary friend list. As a major faction vs faction AAA MMO in 2012 that's just pathetic. Only fun activity each day is to solo the Ilum daily, but even it is becoming boring, meh. Except 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 didn't deliver as promised and to top it off, both introduced new bugs, design flaws and exploits.
  6. Not good enough. Where is the option to CHANGE THE COLOR OF THE GCD? Republic players play this game too, and a BLUE GCD over BLUE ICONS is BAD DESIGN - How hard is it to understand? Ones peripheral vision CAN'T TELL ANYTHING APART when everything in the corner of ones eye is a clusterf*** of the color BLUE.
  7. I've beta tested it - many have, and so far it's living up to peeps expectations way more than TOR did. As in, still waiting for a patch that actually fixes stuff and doesn't introduce more bugs, and waiting for simple MMO features that pretty much every other MMO feature from the very start. Like a guild bank, lol. Press is testing GW2 as we speak, you can read more about it on the 21st when the NDA is up. Or visit Youtube and check out some videos in the mean time.
  8. You can go play GW2 in 3 weeks time. - Real character customization - Real personal story w/ different "endings" + writing your own background bio included - Dynamic events/world/PvE - Dynamic combat/PvP - Content scaling - RvR PvP - PvP Ranking - Scale and art - Gear customisation/dye - Simple and innovative UI - Multiple guilds (with tons of features, as in, levels, perks, and something as simple as a guild bank, lol) - Much better in-house engine (and did I say modern?) - Better graphics - Music by Jeremy Soule (KOTOR, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim etc) - No holy trinity of Tank, Healer, DPS - No monthly fee There you go.
  9. All I hear is "soon" regarding features that pretty much every other MMO launches with, as in, guild bank, lol. If anything, it's pathetic.
  10. Not true. That just goes on to show how little experience you have with F2P games. For the record, there are several different models of "F2P" - while EQ and Aion (going F2P too) follow the premium subscription model, there are other models, say, the microtransaction one. Take Gpotato and their titles; while you would benefit from buying stuff from their microtransaction shop there really is no need to - as all of those items can be legally sold ingame by a group of players and bought with ingame currency by others. Unlike AAA MMOs, F2P publishers welcome it as they really don't care who's spending rl currency on them as long as someone is. Meaning, you can basically play most, if not all, Gpotato titles and never spend a single dime - no limitations whatsover! It's not without reason that their motto is "Free to play for life!" Gpotato is far from the exception. PW follow the same model and so do Nexon and many other publishers. Try again.
  11. It's all about the quality of the development team, not the quantity. Throwing more money at BW won't help one bit. I'll use ArenaNet as an example, not because of the upcoming release of GW2 but because they had one goal in mind when they developed their success MMO Guild Wars; to create a different and innovative MMO for the RPG players, by players. Back in those days, ArenaNet were hoping to sell 1 million copies of GW, they ended up selling sold more than 6 million copies. Through the years, they managed to update and patch their game on a regular basis, and give us expansion packs, all while having less than 200 employees. Even to this very day they have less than 300 employees - while developing GW2. BW had more than 800 back in 2010. And did I mention ArenaNet made money in the process, even though GW came without a monthly subscription fee? That doesn't mean TOR will fail, that's not what I'm trying to say. But ArenaNet proved it is all about the quality of the people behind a game, not the quantity nor the funds. ArenaNet founders and senior developers all left decent companies (most have a background from Blizzard and were involved in the development of titles such as Warcraft, Diablo, Starcraft, early stages of WoW, and Battle.net) to follow their dream and establish ArenaNet. They wanted to do things their way and provide gamers the freedom to play MMOs without having to pay a monthly fee so players could play several MMOs without having to "commit to it for life." And they succeeded at it because there was real passion and desire behind it all, not because they wanted to make money. And now, with GW2, they have a new goal, to create the best MMO ever. And things are looking very good so far - all while still sticking to the no monthly subscription fee model. My point is, if ArenaNet can pull it off, shouldn't BW too - without us having to pay them an additional $10 every month? For the record, I'm still waiting for that one patch that actually fixes stuff while not introducing new bugs and exploits.
  12. Hahaha, most hilarious OP ever. Two words, "GW2" and "F2P!"
  13. If you're talking about the side speeders and turrets you have plenty of time to solo cap a turret after killing both one and/or two players.
  14. First one was UO. Try again. The only popular guild feature that most MMOs don't tend to feature at launch is guild housing.
  15. That's one big hideous feature. Given most JK gear consist of 3-4 models colored in different tones of brown I've already handpicked my all black gear that I was hoping to wear when they make gear fully customable. With the "hue to chest" option all of that goes out the window. The simpler solution would be dyes and remodelling, but no, BW had to be "innovative" *sigh* You mean like guild bank, levels, ranks cloaks, skills, customization and all the other crap that pretty much ALL other MMOs offer from scratch?
  16. Yeah, a Q&A session that gave us... not much to go on - as expected, lol. And BW keeps on giving!
  17. TERA goes live in May, and GW2 open beta is 3 weeks away (the press is testing it as we speak). Trust me, subs will decrease, TOR is not the MMO players return to. That game is titled Pandaland.
  18. Newsflash; the companion idea is far from innovative and has been done in multiple MMOs in the past.
  19. Innovation on a 10 year old single-threaded engine? Joke of the week, lol. With that said, I totally agree. In fact, the best MMO would be a cross between the AAA and F2P model, you know, cause F2P MMOs keep themselves fresh by offering dynamic content, be it daily or weekly events. That is something every AAA MMO could and should learn from. Static content is boring as hell, why some of the best MMOs I've played were F2P ones.
  20. Many MMOs offer endgame solo instances, say, Aion. Still, it's a bad idea.
