  1. Found this by googling how to make a favorite. Good lord, I'm trying to grind level 5 companion gifts, with 550 skill. 10 minute missions, 3 at a time, plus 2 others out on other skills. UGH. /marked desperately needed
  2. Nope, and I'm betting not many have either. When using Google, I tried "using a tank in a raid" " using a tank in a dungeon" "using a tank in a flashpoint" "tanking a raid etc". Got the expected results. Substituted the word "grill" and "grilling" returns no MMO results. Although, "Grilling a raid" came back with some funny ones:D Oh yeah, and Steven Segal is being sued for using a tank in a raid:P
  3. Bucking for a ban, apparently.....
  4. More like a frigid hell with bantha sized mosquitoes:P
  5. I want to be a wookie. Or an Ewok. Actually, I want to be a Jawa!
  6. You can bet Gungan Jedi would have all the best lines Legacy unlocking Gungan for every race- inquisitor Gungans.. hahahahahahah, I want one:) The only problem is, whatever side gets to shoot the Gungans will become massively imbalanced. Lore would make sense that they'd join light side, and the Empire side would groan under the weight of the new players:P
  7. 14 was sprint, you may be thinking that at 15 you get the force run. 1.2 on test has been reallllly sweet with the level 1 sprint.
  8. I'm a huge fan of choice. Why not have both a LFD tool and server transfers? The argument comes in when it becomes a x-server lfd tool. At that point, you simply assume the worst (1/4 of the group is guaranteed to be an a--hat). In WoW, about half the groups I went into xserver rarely spoke a word in group, it was done and poof. Worse, if you found people who weren't, you couldn't friend them and group again..... On the plus side, you got the dungeons done and done fast (only leveling one that I've met in any game that happened to be rocket science is the empire collicoid war). Great way to level alts, awful for meeting new friends. People keep saying "join a guild". You kinda have to meet new people first, and you usually meet them through grouping. *shrug*
  9. *Brings in real life stupidity* (Yeah, I hate when people try to bring RL into an MMO convo, so I'll do it just this once).... In real life, if I stab someone, I certainly get the credit (runs from the cops)... In real life if I push someone off a cliff, the police would be eager to give me the credit too Just sayin' Also, don't you hate when you push them off and they don't die? so your companion has to chase them to the bottom, kill them, then bring a train of Everquest proportions back to you to finish off:P
  10. Ok, scale it down and turn it into a mount;) Sure, real Star Wars fans would stroke out, but it's all good. I promise, we'll keep it basic black. (Not like the OP is asking for it to be bright purple and leave a rainbow trail behind..) No matter how awesome it would be, we are a few millenia too early to get one (pity). Then again, I enjoyed the mining fest Titan building in EvE was:D
  11. You may find it useful to create an alt with slicing and 2 other skills. I'm one of the truly lazy folks. When I burn my QT on my main, I log into an alt and play that for 15-20 min instead, then log back. For that 15- 20 min you could be gathering, raising skill, and getting more companions to go out as the alt is leveled.
  12. Eve Online has been doing this for a while. I bring it up because nearly every argument in this thread, and the previous ones are the same as was used there. First skills were able to be changed without fully logging in, which had people screaming that players wouldn't need to log in anymore- subs have gone up since. Then they added full market functionality out of game- wow, the screaming was bad; it was the most active the market forum has ever been. Result= even the casual players were happy, and the min/maxers were ecstatic. The one real difference here is- the market is much tinier. I'd say less than half of all good are crafter goods. One person really can make a massive impact on a single server's economy, even with the 50 item cap (400 if you use all your slots). You can't simply run over to the next market hub to play economic PvP. I can see the app working, but only if it is run by Bioware. You never know when a 3rd party app can get hacked. You can get around all the log in silliness of everything else through an API, if you are only downloading and analyzing info (as when market logs or combat logs come in).
  13. It was great on my sage as well. However, on my inquisitor, the story line isn't as good. Strangely enough, I liked Hoth on the empire side, and hated it on the repub side. The quest line on Hoth seemed much longer on the republic side as well on Hoth.
  14. /challenge accepted. Now all I need is someone yelling at me on teamspeak......
  15. "With Game Update 1.2, the Legacy system has been greatly expanded on. Players can now tie their different characters together inside of a Legacy family tree, and those characters will be able to unlock unique abilities for themselves, and for other characters in their Legacy. Over time, as players increase their Legacy level they'll be able to unlock new "convenience items" for their ship, which include an on-board mailbox and Global Trade Network terminal, among other items. With Legacy, players can also unlock new species for any character class in their Legacy." Yes, it's badly worded, and not the first time they've done that. When it was first announced they simply said "new races". When we hear "new races" we think "ooo let it be Trando, no no, calamarian!!" What they mean "same races, new classes". What they should have said was "expanded class/race combinations" and we'd have heard "Undead Pallies, YES!!" I mean...... "Sith Jedi, yesssssss"
  16. Numbers dont give completion. Any fairly competent group without a perfect setup can COMPLETE the flashpoint. It's the people who want to run it in an optimal time, with the least number of heals (allowing the healer to get some dps in as well) that need the numbers. PUGs don't need numbers. Guild progression does. In a PUG, someone needs to grab that add that's beating on the healer, and CC it. While CCing that add, they aren't going to show as having done damage. They prevented a wipe by CCing that add, but get no credit for it. Let the progression guild worry about the meters, I won't be using it. FULL and COMPLETE combat logs I'm for. Partial logs that only cover damage, forget it, that's epeen crap. Full logs will show that the DPS threw a heal in because I was out of force, because we had a wandering patrol we didn't know about get pulled in. the DPS saved the day, but might get kicked because full logs didn't show this? What it comes down to, is whose job is what. Tanks don't just grab aggro, dps don't just do max damage, and healers don't just toss shields and HoTs. Every class got something a bit added to them for utility, making simple numbers useless.
  17. Neutral GTN will get used more once the legacy kiosk is implemented for ships. I'm totally getting one;) I think it'll lead to a robust NGTN service, along with fleet for newer players. Personally, I'd rather see the Hutts make a hostile takeover of both fleet GTN services, or do it as purchasing the rights from the Emperor/Jedi council/Senate. Cross faction mail just means I can drop several of my light side crafts for more gathering.
  18. Yes. Once you get above the low level crafting, the craft-5-at-a-time takes longer. I swap between chars while doing this. I do an occasional run through BT while running gather missions, if I'm out of a particular low level mat. Otherwise, my main has 3 gather skills, and can get anything I need for my crafting alts. Set 5 crafts, log out, log in on other crafter alt, set 5 crafts, log back into main- who at this point should have her QT back up, and ready to go out on another run.
  19. Another point to consider- credits have to enter the economy from somewhere, or we go back to bartering. With the legacy unlocks, credits are going to get hoovered out of the economy. Probably not nearly enough, but I'm sure Bioware has a stack of gewgaws to release with every patch. Mobs drop credits, but having 400 slicing by level 20 means you get those credits soo much quicker with no visits to the GTN hoping something sold (then waiting an hour to claim your credits). Just remember, it costs nothing to relevel it but time, if you want to drop it for the FOTM gathering skill. On my new server, that would be bioanalysis mats @1k a pop. Once people start pouring millions into legacy unlocks, they might depress the market for mats for a short time. Also, with things being BoE, people won't need to powerlevel several crafts on a single character to get special BoP crafted bracers, etc. Slicing is only vulnerable to the vagaries of the market when it comes to mission drops and augments/augment pieces. It can still grind cash profitably.
  20. Last night in a few hours, I got 34 commendations on Hoth, only 3 runs of Heroics. Rest were quest rewards and serious falling-like-mana-loot. I've made 20 chars so far across 4 servers. Usually leave the starting planet with one shy of what I need for the chest, or just enough. I made a BH a few days ago, and got enough to outfit BOTH her AND Mako, it was insane. Usually, I have around what I need, or a little less. Flashpoint dailies also give comms, so I've bought a couple artifact boxes. Clearly, the RNG is as streaky here as it has been in other games (Evercrack crafting broke me forever, I still have my lucky chair at just the right height, with the special cupholder:D )
  21. Don't nerf.... buff; buff 'em 'til they scream:) Yes, that results in "supahplayahs" versus 'bosses of doom" but it is kinda cool:) Yard trash no longer comes in groups of 3, but in groups of 6. You get mass carnage, and feel far more powerful, even though the ratios haven't changed, just the size of the numbers....
  22. Snipers/Gunslingers All attacks have now a 500 meter range and can even hit targets on different servers. Both these classes can now shoot through walls and may destroy entire planets with a well placed crit. Don't care- still requires "roll-to-cover". I've actually played smuggler to level 3 and operative made it to level 2. I'm sure I could get used to it, but MEH.... Let them blow up planets, I still won't roll for anyone:)
  23. But I still get the cool animations right? I was just chatting in guild about which looked cooler, forcequake or lightning storm. I rarely have to heal anything anyways, just bubble and HoT, kinda like another game that shall not be named...... I may be useless, but I look good doing it!!!!
  24. Was just on Hoth, getting close to 4k xp per kill on the gold star wampas, but they have a respawn of like 5 minutes. If you run a track of them, it's great xp. Me, I prefer to do quests. Dailies of all sorts give tons. Back to back flashpoints was how I leveled 1 character, and she got 30 levels quite fast, just had to take time out to do the main quest line. I'm just glad we don't have to have a "rep" level for each world:)
