  1. Anyone remember that Hakkar plague that hit WoW? Unintentional, spread all over, killed lowbies, npcs, all sorts of stuff. Had to be patched. I still talk about that, it was kind of annoying, but it was fun because it was out of the ordinary, a unique experience. Me and my friends still reference it. This is the same thing. Its a little out of the ordinary, interrupts your gaming schedule. And a year from now when someone says "Man I wish theyd do something like the Rakghoul infection again", we'll all tell stories. Or we'll say we went on the forums and whined about it. Nobody looks back and goes "Hey man, remember when we did our regularly scheduled Thursday Ops one? The one we did every week?" "Oh yeah man, loot dropped! Good times...good times"
  2. Bioware; Please remove the whole 'Sith vs. Republic' thing. I bought this game to play a Bounty Hunter, and track people down, yet it seems that everywhere I go, I get pulled into this conflict. I have no beef with the republic, yet they shoot at me everywhere because I have this 'Imperial' debuff that I did NOT opt into! Remove the galactic war now.
  3. Now I want them to take it the next step...add the plague to our forum accounts. Then if an infected person posts in your thread...your character is plagued! THAT should keep the whiners down for a bit...
  4. I can't believe people are still here whining in this thread... Its going to last a few days. A lot of people are having fun. Chill out. This game has almost no death penalty anyway. Oh no, you lost 5 minutes of your time so that thousands of players can enjoy this event. You are worth the sacrifice, sorry.
  5. I can't believe people are crying about an awesome in game event that won't last that long. If you see the vaccines as a credit sink, this game may be too difficult for you...
  6. This is hilarious...half of the whiners in here are just reacting "You people? What do you mean you people?" Sensitive much?
  7. I knew when I played the game at launch that features would be added to the game that would make my life simpler. I counted on it, in fact, that the game will get better. I realize that by playing now, I will go through difficult periods that will be simplified later. Its part of the game. Thats like asking for free time or an xp bonus because I didnt have sprint at level 1 with my earlier characters and therefore would have leveled faster.
  8. OP wants easy mode in a game where he already has legacy level 50.
  9. Apparently, in order to satisfy the playerbase, Bioware should have... - Made a new Op with 700 bosses. - Not nerfed healers so we can continue to roll the 'too easy' flashpoints and ops that people complain they are able to clear too quickly. - Offer 30 character slots while decreasing their focus on making you roll alts - Offered server merges when Bioware has already said they are trying to figure out how to let people transfer with their legacy intact, which is the main reason people don't want to reroll - Make solo crafting viable while still giving people a reason to grind pvp and pve content when you can just craft equal gear. - Done a survey to find out what every player thinks looks good and put that in the game. - Redo all their visuals on armor for hoods. - Any same gender stuff in this thread? Did I miss it? - Went back in time and done all of this already. I think I hit the major points. So just go ahead and get on that, bioware.
  10. Then don't play it. Problem solved. Really, the Space Combat was an addition to the game that they did not need to make, and they gave us something EXTRA and unncessary. I like the space missions. They are a good break every now and then. Its an mmo. They could have had no space missions and nobody would have said anything. So they put something extra in, thats completely optional, and people complain. Greedy.
  11. If you have one character, youll have enough money to buy the buffs. Problem solved.
  12. So what if it only grants the illusion of choice? You still get to roleplay your character, and you only know that the choices mean nothing if you play the same class again. I've been very pleased with the class story. Better than most mmos, or even single player games. And as for it being YOUR story? Really? Go get a job as a writer for Bioware...otherwise of course its going to be someone elses story. You cant create a game that will let you make any choice you want. It is impossible. You will play within their framework so they can build a game that works.
  13. OP wants free stuff. BW made the stuff cheaper, but still requires OP to work for what he wants. OP cries unfair, even though plenty of other people are Valor 65. Me? Im Valor 53. I know that 1.2 hits in April. In the next two weeks, im sure I could grind it out. I won't, because I like my alt I started. Basically I don't want it bad enough. Im not griping about it.
  14. I want you to write a fantasy book series like Lord of the Rings. Now, it can be a copy of LOTR, just change up the races and setting. I expect, at minimum, that it will be as good and as popular as the LOTR franchise, since you can just copy what they did. I also want the trilogy done in the time it would normally take to write one book, since the work is already done. And those books translated nicely into movies, so make sure to get a few of those done. Wait, what? All of that takes time? And resources? And you need to get the first books set up before you can make the movies? No way, you must be a no-talent writer.
  15. 2 Days might be a bit drastic, but I completely support this idea. Some of the best WZs ive been in have been 'comeback wins'. But that rarely happens. First team scores, or caps two guns, or plants a bomb fast, and half the team leaves. Everyone is just after their wins for the day. The whole thing becomes a random 'when will I end up on the team that doesn't quit' race, instead of actually battling in a Warzone. I think a lockout is a good idea. First time? Ok DCs happen. Even second, alright I can see it. Third leave in a 24 hour period? Should be a 24 hour lockout from warzones. If you are one of the few people who actually has computer issues that cause your computer to disconnect from the game 3 or more times a day, I think the majority is willing to consider you a casualty of war in correcting the leaver problems. Spend your lockout time figuring out why you DC 3+ times a day. I think SWTOR does a decent job with the medals and the valor. Its not like a warzone is a waste of your time if you lose, its not a wash. I totally support some sort of leaver debuff.
  16. They cannot put too many game-altering choices in. Not just because of the massive issues with making sure all the stories play out, etc., but the larger problem is the players. Theres STILL a massive 'why cant I switch my advanced class?' thread going, lots of people complaining about making choices they didnt mean to (while space-barring through, of course)... Thing is, there is apparently an epidemic of people who wildly click their mouse with reckless abandon while they play. Can you imagine if these clicks had more profound outcomes? The forum would be even messier than it is now with how unfair it is that theyre not allowed to undo everything they did because 3 months later Bioware buffs a companion that they chose to kill. As much as id like more of a Fallout impact on the world...I shudder.
  17. Of couse we all want more content. And i'm sure its coming. THe problem with these kinds of threads is that yes, SWTOR should be better than WoW given that its 8 years older, the gaming community has learned how to absolutely chew up and spit out MMOs. The expectations are instantaneous. How much do you think it cost Blizzard to program and implement all of the stuff in their game? How much longer would it have taken SWTOR to come out and include all of that stuff? At what price tag? Youre expecting SWTOR, with zero years of subscriber input and funding to have a product on par with WoWs 8 years of input and funding. Finally, everyone keeps asking for 'more than the same old grind'. Thats what MMOs ARE. Its a cornerstone, and simply saying 'im bored, please reinvent', gets us nowhere. Its like saying "I love action-platformer games, and ive played them all since the Odyssey, but in this new game im just tired of jumping from one platform to the other, over and over, please fix the genre so its fun for me again". The 'fix' is finding a new game type.
  18. I think you're all crazy. I loved Taris. I loved the Rakghoul stuff, the blasted craters, the wildlife...it was awesome. And while it was a little maze-ish, it was smaller. Which I loved.
  19. OP's post was a really long post to say "Im still pissed that I missed out on the free easy Valor, its not fair, qq".
  20. Pretty much all of the reasons you are quitting are personal opinion, not problems with the game. If this isn't the game for you, I wish you luck in finding one that suits your tastes. All the instances on Vaiken? The forums are full enough of people complaining that traveling takes too long. They want it all in one spot. They are sick of travelling. If they implement your fix, someone else cancels instead. PvP gear. You're jealous that other people are luckier than you. You want luck removed to reward your time invested. People without as much time would disagree. Thats like saying that random drops in Ops should be done away with because you're tired of your stuff not dropping. Healing classes are overpowered? My healer sorc took twice as long on each planet as my merc. Yes they can heal. At the expense of damage. You think healers are op, I think there are healers that would disagree. I wouldn't say 'broken'. Companions. Yes I wish they were more fleshed out. But im glad they are there. I really enjoy the system. I don't see it as a reason to quit that an element that no ther mmo has isn't as good as its single player counterparts. Same thing goes for the space missions. Basically, for each reason you're quitting, if they fixed it, there would be someone else who quit. Good luck on your next game.
  21. My favorite part was when the OP said he logs on every game to play a game he is disgusted with... Whatever problems there may be with the game, I think the OPs desire to punish himself shows more deep-seated, complex psychological issues. If I dislike a game, I stop playing it. Plus, if hes running Ilum, hes 50. He paid his 60 bucks for a game that probably took at least 75 hours. Good bang for your buck! Glass half full!
  22. Man if I ever see groups waiting 'their turn' to do the killing, ill wait till its the Republics turn to 'kill us', then get a few guildies to start slaughtering the republic that think there are going to be easy kills, healing the people that are letting themselves die, etc. Lets me piss off the republic AND empire exploiters! So if you're thinking of doing this, and someone comes in and ruins it for you, know that it might be me, and im laughing the whole time.
  23. Shieldtech can solo heroics? Thats appealing. This time through the game I wasn't going to sweat missing the heroics, and try to put my OCD aside, but if I don't have to thatd be great. At the same time, im coming from a healer, and id watch other classes mow through groups of mobs that I had to slowly burn down....
  24. Hey guys, Started my BH, want to go Powertech. Endgame ill respec into whatever im doing the most of, pvp or pve. Lots of threads on those. But for 1-50, im going to do mostly solo pve, and the pvp daily quests. Whats your favorite spec for leveling up? Pyro seems like it would lack the staying power for the tougher mobs, but does shield tech take forever to kill anything? The Carolina Parakeet seems to be pvp based, and I see the benefits in pvp and pve raiding for the dedicated Shield/Pyro builds... What build iss going to make me and Mako tear through the galaxy?
