  1. What have you figured will be the amount of damage lost over the extra 3.5 possible seconds? What's your general damage at the end of a WZ compared to what it will be?
  2. As long as they don't nerf dancers and camps I'm good.
  3. If getting upset, using emotionally charged language , and using scarecrows is how you 'debunk countless arguments', I think you might be mistaking winning an argument with people not bothering to talk down someone whose way too involved. Look, learn how to throttle your build. That's all I'm saying. Your number crunching doesn't take throttling into account, which, in the long run, is much more efficient than randomly burning.
  4. Wow. Way to embellish my stance. I said 'use it every once in awhile', like, you know, every other energy using class has to throttle their chain in long fights.
  5. If you go PvP spec you get slows, stuns, and plenty of mobile DPS.
  6. If you play like I suggested you don't need to worry about it. I'm saying the system is fine the way it is, except 'when the stars align' its overpowered. Maybe you'll have to change your build up a little bit, maybe you wouln't be getting 400k damage every game. That's balanced.
  7. Snipers are a lot more useful in Huttball if they're played right. Its all about picking good positions. No, they might not be able to single-handedly run the ball, but they can be a valuable team asset if played well/correctly.
  8. It really doesn't sound like you play a pyrotech. Its easy to stay in the 3 tick heat area from marginally cycling skills. A free -8 heat every other move is an incredible boon. If you burn through and just stand there, now I know why people come into WZ as a Powertech and only do 80k damage >.< I mean, do you really not see the problem in throwing everything into the prospect of getting lucky, as opposed to playing safe and still having the chance of doing the extreme DPS of the 'stars aligning'?
  9. Wow. If that's serious, its the worst change ever. If you're pvping below 50 at all you need the cash to supplement your income. If you don't have slicing and you PvP you're going to be extremely poor all game.
  10. Obviously I mean using flame burst and rocket punch to get a free rail shot, and then use rapid shots after every few attacks to stay in around 3 energy ticks. What, do you burn down to 1 tick and just stand there? Like I said, I normally burn down as my opening and then use vent heat. Context, my friend, context..
  11. Oh, exactly. I always try to stun and pull enemies around people who need to pass, because I know they're flipping out under the pressure. What I -really- hate is when you have the ball and you're trying to pass to someone, especially stealthers, they either stay in stleath or run A MILE away and get out of your LOS. Normally for me, they do both! So annoying.
  12. I thought Ilum was going to be Open World PvP
  13. The thing is, the stars don't need to align. The system never has heat problems. If you're having bad luck, just add a 'rapid shots' between every other use of punch and burst. I normally burn through burst and punches like crazy, then use vent heat and play like a sane person. Burning through the first volley maximizes your chances of the 'stars aligning'. You never have heat problems if you just pay attention and use rapid shots where you need to, so your whole premise is flawed. Of all the characters I've played, Pyrotech is the least susceptible to energy problems if managed decently. The change seems to be meant as a nerf to the pure damage of the Pyrotech. No other class comes close in damage ratios unless they're standing in one spot dishing it out..
  14. I'll be spamming in chat "pass pass pass pass", the guy dies after 9 minutes "sry bro I was stunlocked" Yeah, okay. Unfortunately, there's no way to make MMO players try to think. My favored strategy is to yell at them to do something, then praise them or just not yell when they finally do. This sometimes works, but usually doesn't. On the up side, the opposing team is just as likely to have people who don't care as your side is.
  15. I don't understand why you named every single class and said they're useless in Huttball. They all have distinct advantages, and Smugglers/Agents DO have knockbacks, you just have to not be dumb to use it. (setup shield fast and use the skill. how hard is that?) Knockbacks aren't great compared to teamwork. If one person gets knocked back, a well spaced teamate can be passed to. The only problem is that the game does not reward passing or scoring, but just DPSing, Healing, and Tanking. Presumably there should be meaningful medals in the new patch. A whole map shouldn't be changed because a few people are too bad to play it. In 50 PvP, the real problem isn't KBs or charge skills, its that health-to-damage ratios aren't as balanced as below 50 play, so everyone is alive twice as long, making traveling skills more important.
  16. There's more of a community in North Korea than on this forum. What server are you playing on? Illidan?
  17. The /who flag is only useless because people are uninterested in grouping. They wanna solo power level and be like you. You're famous. Do you see how you've influenced these MMO'ers? Also, let this thread die. Don't respond to Shady's bumps like I just did. I'll put this one in the dictionary under "dumbest thing anyone has ever said".
  18. Class distribution has nothing to do with playability. There's nothing more viable for straight-up PvP combat than an IA/Smuggler.
  19. I think its a great distraction. Something fun to do between questing. Really breaks up the monotony.
  20. Wait till you're 50. That's what happens to good looking people: they get old, then they're not attractive anymore. Welcome to the real world. It ain't pretty.
  21. I've never read a manual for an MMO. I'm not complaining, that's fine for you. But I can give you some tips: Read all your skills. Always work on making your timing and use to be more efficient. If you can do this to the best of your ability, it isn't something you can learn from a manual. People will tell you this game takes no skill: they are wrong. Those are the people who sit there banging on something all day, dying over and over in trial-and-error fashion, rather than playing effective. Playing effectively takes less time, and builds skill and logical thinking ability. When questing, always make sure your quests line up in the same general area, so you can do them all at once without having to go back to the same spot. Sometimes this takes some intelligent discernment and thinking ahead, as quests that are parts of chains are sometimes hard to spot. (Sort of a spoiler but relates more to intelligent planning for questing: )
  22. Alderaan bonus starts at about 42, I think.
  23. I think they should buy RPG maker. Then they can make a game that's however much like or dislike WoW as they'd like. A fat, sloppy kiss to you, sir.
  24. The only way to save this forum is to get rid of all posting rights.
