  1. You are correct. I'll adjust my post to properly limit the scope. It's like Dec 2011 all over again. So many unrealistic expectations... so much disappointment incoming.
  2. With the rakghoul and chevin event outfits tied to a meta achievement, you'd think the events would be back in some form or another. Or perhaps they are just going to toss those on a vendor hidden in a lava pool on Oricron... heh.
  3. It's a trap! No SWTOR space project can live up to expectations of that magnitude.
  4. If you don't want the expansion, you better hope your account transitions to preferred in the next 12-13hrs. For month to month subscribers, that means you should use your time machine, go back 30 days, and cancel your subscription.
  5. Please, do not invoke the forum Beetlejuice. We beg of you. Don't do it.
  6. Everytime she gets involved in a forum discussion, I think about Jon Stewart on Crossfire. Please, we beg you... stop hurting the forums. The hybrid tax term has been around long before the advent of MMOs. In RPG design, a hybrid can respec to fill another role in the group/raid. A pure cannot respec to fill another roles. In SWTOR, the only pures are sniper/slingers and mara/sent. Everyone else is a hybrid. A hybrid tax is a measure of balance to ensure that regardless of role, and all things being equal, a hybrid class can not outperform a pure in their role. This definition is not debatable. Any RPG designer will (or should) parrot this response back to you. In a good design, the hybrid tax is an opprotunity to provide a lot of flavor and variety to your hybrids. In exchange for a 5-10% reduction in role ability versus a pure, you provide your hybrids with the ability to provide more buffs, debuffs, or other types of utility such as in/out of combat res, crowd control, movement speed, etc. Honestly, it's a tricky and difficult balancing act due to several factors. Player perception of what is an appropriate tax being just one of them. As a designer, you can also be thrown for a loop by players that break out of the "all things being equal" container. There are always going to be players that can eat that 5-10% reduction in designed performance for lunch. The trick is to not knee jerk and re-design based on the outliers.
  7. Can we also get the title "The Unleavened" to go along with "The Risen?" Feeling kinda flat after this announcement.
  8. I'm rooting for Rita. She's the nice lady that heads up the nightly cleaning crew.
  9. Misplaced outrage at Hickman's promotion. The man has done the best he can with what he has. You folks should be more concerned about Bromberg's promotion. That is a disturbing move by EA.
  10. These will sell like hotcakes to folks looking to do CC to credit conversions. Just like the weekly F2P unlocks, they are virtually a guaranteed sell once you post them to the GTN with proper prices.
  11. Raging keester hurt on these forums? Surely thou jests? That never happens here! This is a great addition to the CM. Hopefully it will be successful enough to encourage them to add other dyes from the CM packs to the market.
  12. Snark tennis? Oops, snark, not snork.
  13. Iwipe is the only user on the list that has been 100% helpful and hasn't gotten embroiled in some personal forum vendetta at one point or another. As a matter of fact, let's choose Iwipe for every subsequent month after this one as well.
  14. That helm makes me think of LOLBAT from PvP.
  15. So, Mr. Baron, when will we get hutt balls made from actual hutts?
  16. Yes, Treek is ridiculously better at healing than any other healer companion. As for using her in PVP, like any companion, effectiveness depends on the IQ of your opponent.
  17. They should take a month of fees, buy a bunch of sheet pizzas, and ship them to some third world county to feed starving people. Ah crap. I brought up a first world vs third world issue.
  18. And very bad skin. I'd think setting up a varicose veins removal shop in Kaas City would be a more profitable enterprise than dealing in isotope-5.
  19. Also remember that if you are using SWTOR Unleashed, close the game, modify/copy the UI files not located on the RAM drive, then start the game back up like you normally would. I learned that lesson the hard way during a sleepy eyed, late night SWTOR session when I opened the RAM drive copy by accident and made modifications.
  20. Thank you, sir! And it's exacerbated by he fact that most Star Wars fans and MMO players have some sort of internal need to treat every conversation like Tina Turner's Thunderdome... two conversationalists enter, one conversationalist leaves. Unless you agree on the talking points, there will be a conversational fight to the death!
  21. The powerful irony in this response is what destroyed Alderaan, not the Death Star. The forum single to noise ratio has only gotten better due to a lower population through player attrition and subscriber only forum privileges. This community will always be more toxic than many other MMOs due to it being a focal point for two of the most opinionated and unforgiving fan bases on the planet... Star Wars fans and MMO players. All you can do is grin and try to keep your head under the muck flung from both sides of the white knight and eternally unhappy malcontent divide.
  22. The first answer was a complete waste. They talked more about the other tanks than VG/PTs. I'm somewhat amused that the first round of questions went so great, but the second round was as successful as a tie fighter pilot in an asteroid field. Future rounds of questions can only get better... right? Once again, /trooperfacepalm
  23. Using this on my guardian, I feel like I'm chasing down sith with an orange popsicle.
