Has there ever been an actual statement from EA, or the empty shell that is now Bioware, about the failure of this game? Or, better put, the very few things it did right?
This article here could basically have been written by the gaming community that I am a part of, or even myself, if I were in any way shape or form a writer/critic.

Quoting from it here:

EA/Bioware strikes me as something of a chronic gambler here. For years MMOs have attempted a subscription model to try and compete with WoW, and for years they’ve failed, and nearly all have gone free-to-play. “But this time…this time will be different,” they say, “We’ll strike it rich! We have Star Wars!”
For example, when an Elder Scrolls MMO was recently announced, the reaction from longtime Bethesda fans wasn’t cheering, it was more of a collective eye roll. Very few played through the past few Elder Scrolls games and wished there were a hundred other champions roaming around with names like “xXxDarkSlayer69xXx” above their heads. It was a beautiful single player experience, why ruin that?

I mean, in all seriousness: is there an actual reason behind making this game the way that it was made?
I do not want to hate on the game, I have started playing it again recently after a long break, reaching max level with first character not too long after release. On this second time around it is fun again, mostly because I forgot what all the planets and stories are like etc., but at the same time: DO I REALLY HAVE TO COLLECT THESE 10 PIG HOOVES JUST TO ADVANCE TO MY NEXT CLASS QUEST?
I could go on about this for hours and hours and write basically an entire essay on this subject, but seeing how cagey responses to like-minded posts have been so far I'd rather save my energy. I am a huge fan of the Star Wars Galaxy and all the history behind it. You had us by the balls, man, how did it end up like this?
