  1. That server name went from zero to hero (literally) in twelve parsecs!
  2. Rumor has it that Treek suggested Sorrow Mountain as a server name since they were going with an obscure reference theme.
  3. The abilities that are currently shown are all the abilities they have available to them now. There is nothing hidden. You can cross reference this by opening up your abilities window (default P key), clicking on the companion option, and comparing the abilities shown to the companion bar.
  4. It's hilarious that the akk dogs favorite gift is artwork. There needs to be an interaction with it where you come into a room and the whole place is covered in shreds. "Bad dog! Did you eat my slippers too?!?"
  5. All of the classes worked well with the races they had available to them up until they turned it wild west and allowed every race for every class. I mean, come on... sith for anything except warrior/inquisitor, non-human/chiss agents, non-imperial chiss. Crazy, bizzaro galaxy!
  6. I agree, but how much they stick around after being exposed depends heavily on the social elements they are exposed to and their preferences for those elements. This applies not only to PVP, but to PVE elements such as raids and group finder. Let's be realistic, none of those environments are very friendly to newly exposed players except in the rarest of circumstances where they encounter other players willing to accept and/or instruct.
  7. Doesn't matter whether expertise is removed or not. Doesn't matter if bolster is fixed to not require pre-expansion gear. Changes in game design will never convince players that don't enjoy PVP or the community that surrounds it to suddenly jump into PVP. It's not a game design issue, it's mostly a social engineering issue.
  8. I'm actually surprised PVPers would support PVP required companions. Whenever anything PVE related is attached to PVP, you have a sudden influx of players that really have no idea what they are doing thrust into an activity they have no desire to take part in. It frustrates PVPers because the quality of matches goes down dramatically and it frustrates the PVEers because they are being yelled at by the PVPers for everything from bad equipment to poor tactics. It further reinforces the stereotypes both sides have about each other. It's kind of like the holiday event PVP achievements in World of Warcraft. Any PVP activity attached to that achievement goes into the fresher for the duration of event.
  9. The area around Highmount Slopes in Highmount Ridge (north of Outpost Leth) has a large number of Worthy Jagannath Targets. I counted eight spawns total that I cycled through around the midway point up the mountain and on the ice plain to the northeast. Took about 30min to kill the twenty needed, but that was with no competition for spawns. After killing number eight, I went back to the first spawn, then waited ~10min for the respawn. They spawn in sequence, so it's easy to go from one to the other in the same order you killed them the first time. There was no variance in respawn time. There is a slight variance in spawn location, but it's usually always within 75m of where you saw them first.
  10. I know I chimed in earlier in the thread, but I want to bring up this point again. From the blog: Better quality items in each pack – The baseline pack items will now primarily be Armor, Mounts/Vehicles, Decorations, and Toys. We will add other item types as well, but only when they are high-demand items Weapons, crystals, companion customization, emotes, and titles need to make a return in the monthly packs. As a weapon collector, the underworld alliance pack held little interest to me.
  11. This is the one thing we can both agree on. Hundreds of pages of packs being resold? Based on our personal experiences, I think this may be where you and I are having a disconnect regarding resellers. I've never seen anywhere near that many pages of packs on the GTN on my servers. Maybe 20 pages on a weekend evening with the last couple of pages always being those folks that think they can sell single packs for 15-20mil. I think we may have strayed beyond the parameters of Toby's questions, so I will bow out here with a better understanding of the reseller side of the pack equation. I applaud Toby for opening this thread for feedback. Great conversations going on here.
  12. How these packs and their contents affect the GTN market should have zero bearing on how they are marketed, priced, and sold by BWEA. As it always does, the GTN will adjust based on supply, demand, inflation, and market clearing resets. I see the lowering of the price as more of a win for BWEA as it ultimately puts more cash in their pockets due to higher overall pack sales from casual buyers. Why do nickel slots make more money than dollar slots at a casino?... perceived value that draws in a higher number of players with smaller budgets. As most of the comments in this thread point out, players just don't see the perceived value with the current prices versus the wild variability of the category packs. I think BWEA are hamstringing themselves with current prices. With each pack release, sell single item gambling boxes for cheap (99-199cc), but sell the full unlocked pack for $49 single character or $69 account. Not only will you end up with a ton of sales from players that will jump at the chance for guaranteed product, but a low price point on gambling packs entices casual spenders to take a chance at random product. They'll purchase packs in hopes they can beat the bank and complete their collection before they reach the $49 that should have been spent on buying the contents of the pack outright. So yes, there is a reason for BWEA to try and ensure everyone has a copy of everything... making more money than they are now.
  13. This is exacerbated by the fact that every time your companion respawns from unmounting, zoning, quick travel, etc, your companion is auto targeted. You have to untarget, then rebuff.
  14. How does the new Underworld Alliance pack structure feel? What are your thoughts on the pack consolidation? What suggestions do you have? No weapons, no titles, no emotes, no crystals, no companion customization, no faction, no faction vendor. This first pack feels like a mere shadow of previous packs and a large step backwards. Are you more or less likely to purchase packs from the Market and why? At this time, much less likely. Lack of ability to customize the dozens of companions we now have means I don't really have a desire to bother collecting outfits. I also really like collecting weapons, so this pack really held virtually no interest to me.
  15. How do the new Bronze, Silver, and Gold Packs feel? Do you feel they are worth their cost? What suggestions do you have? Getting only one roll on an enormous pool of items per pack for just doesn't seem worth it. The 1500cc gold mount pack is especially egregious. The 50-75cc grand packs are more in line with appropriate cost. Double that cost for silver and triple for gold. If the cost is non-negotiable, then you should throw in another item for the most expensive packs. As it stands, there is really no incentive to purchase the higher cost packs expect to narrow the pool of items you'll be rolling on. I know that the Cartel Market team would like to think that players view the value of items in terms of bronze, silver, and gold, but that just doesn't add up in the live game. There are bronze items that are highly desired and gold items that no one wants anything to do with. What are your thoughts on the new Category packs? Do you enjoy opening them? If so, what do you enjoy most? If not, what do you like least? I like the idea of more distinct pack categories. See price point change above though. How about hypercrates for the category packs? Can you share any experiences or first impressions you’ve had with the Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Category packs? Very first pack I opened contained the unreclaimable or shareable X-3 Techmaster set.
  16. I think there are still some missions that are not scaling experience correctly. The republic heroic area mission for Section X gave +7 upon completion instead of the +80-125k all of the other missions gave. Just bug them as you find them.
  17. For collection armor, you need to equip the whole set before it unlocks in the collection for that character. For pretty much anything else in the collection, equipping or use unlocks it. When it unlocks, you will get a system message saying the item or set has been added to your collection. I usually go and find the item in collections to make certain it has unlocked before deleting it. For all non-collection orange adaptive gear, you'll need to bank it. That said, you can save a lot of space by regularly comparing looks between items. I had a huge collection of trooper armor, but spent an evening sorting through all of the different items only to discover that out of three dozen helmets, there were really only fifteen or so distinctive models and paint jobs. I just picked one of each distinctive look and vendored the rest.
  18. I'd like my trooper to get a mail that summarizes... A full on cutscene would be great, but I'll take a mail instead.
  19. All SW Celebration, San Diego Comic-con, and Gamescom Cantina codes have expired and are no longer valid. Only the PAX Prime and NYCC Cantina codes are currently active. I'd guess the PAX Prime codes will likely expire in the next couple weeks as well since they were issued the end of August.
  20. I'm tempted to start with an instant lvl60 of an archetype I haven't maxxed out yet just to see what restrictions are placed on previous content. After that, I'll likely move forward with my vanguard trooper main.
  21. I believe you missed the important part of my statement... man sized. Perhaps I should have explicitly said man portable. Yes, the gree and rakata have teleporters, but they are large systems based on fixed hardware.
  22. Baby vanguard sees T7 rocket to a target on Coruscant and gets teary eyed. Baby powertech sees Kaliyo rocket to a target on Dromund Kaas and gets the sniffles. Think of the baby vanguards and powertech shield specialists.
  23. Translocate/Transpose? That makes zero sense. Even the rakata and gree didn't have man sized teleportation technology. Maybe if it was done as a two step process where the trooper/BH tow cables the target to their location, then rockets to the target's old location. But teleportation? That's just odd. Then again, lore oddities aside, the grief potential is massive for this.
  24. Sounds great! Any way this functionality can be extended to other UI settings? Having to go in and adjust things such as chat, hotbar cooldown visuals, and map settings can be a bit frustrating to do on a character by character basis.
