  1. Good listen - looking forward to the next one.
  2. 3. I'm gonna go with option 3 just cause well we basically need a mix of 1 and 2. We need server merges to get a nice number of heavily populated servers, making it easier to get groups and do stuff!! Having said that, we need more STUFF to DO, so having extra people might not help as much as we'd like until more stuff is around.
  3. It's for this WORLD BOSS, as previously stated by people and Devs so, yeah no need for everyone to go mental Personally I think it's a good idea. This way people wont stupidly just join in on the World Boss fight, they'll just die without the flask.
  4. What the dude above said: Won't go live till after PAX (6th - 8th April) since they're showing it off there for people to try etc. Also they will almost definitely post an annoucement about it saying like "This maintenance is for 1.2" and it'll most likely be an 8-hour one. Realistically, my bet is on 17th, it could be 10th - but i doubt it. 17th or maybe even 24th, but lets hope for 17th
  5. I used to get this back when i had crappy performance form my PC (until I used TLB fix for AMD Phenom Processors). So I don't know if the visual of the oil/fire is lagging behind due to performance issues or what? Because since then, now that my game runs decent - it's never happened to me again. That's all I can think of, it could just be a bug - wouldn't be too surprising
  6. Ran it yesterday and it bugged. I havn't read through this whole thread so sorry if this has already been mentioned: But someone in our group noted a easy work-around which apparently works for him all the time (cant confirm this). Pull the boss to the start of the room and outside into the hallway (just on top of the ramp) but using Line of Sight. Once he's positioned here, fight as normal - only one add spawned at a time, and we killed him very easily on the second try (1st try we tanked him where he stands and it bugged)
  7. I wouldn't mind if they changed the title slightly after 1.2 to differentiate between those that got it before and those that got it after. But if I'm honest, I don't really see the point. It definitely shouldn't be removed completely for the following reasons: - It's a reason for players to return to these old ops. Either people who never got it before (and rathered to start progressing through Explosive Conflict instead of trying timed runs). This applies double for new players who missed out completely. They might go and do the raids just the experience it and get the title. - Again, still a challenge for so called 'casuals'. Keep it as it is, for those who wanna show that they did something AMAZING in Rakata/Columi gear instead of Black Hole gear or whatever....well you can just get the new titles, or if you're obsessed, take a screenie of when you got the title pre 1.2 and show it to everyone Not trying to be rude, just getting the point accross - there'll be new titles and stuff for us to rock around the fleet showing people how awesome we are
  8. If they genuinely do release lots of little raids over a few big raids every say 2-3 months, Im happy. Infact I prefer it, sort of. But these things always get delayed...I'm unwilling to trust anything that they claim right now Not a hater or anything, rather I don't get my hopes up too much, as it avoids the massive disappointment afterwards xD And on the off chance that they do deliver good quality raids every 3 months with 4-5 bosses, I will be over the moon ^^
  9. What other said, the knockback is part of the fight and cant be avoided. The idea is that he knocks back the MT and will then swipe the new 'top of threat' which is where your Off-tank comes in. To be more specific, when Im OTing, we set up a triangle around the boss. MT with his back towards North-West, then Me at NE (approx 120 degrees away) and then melee dps 120 degrees from me, (roughly South or South East). This has the advantage of only MT being in the frontal 180 degree cleave, (90 degrees on each side). And then as soon as I see the MT get knocked back, I taunt asap. So then he does the nasty hit on me, and I tank him for a few seconds until MT Taunts and Force Leaps back in. And again when MTing: You want your back to be facing North West-ish. Basically so that when you fly back, you hit the edge of that wall near the door. That way you can very easily taunt and get back into the fight. Naturally when he starts Missile Salvo, it depends what strategy you use, LoS or just AoE healing the raid. We used AoE healing, whole raid gathers behind boss. And so at the MT, you want to be the last one to join the raid in the AoE heal circles, and the First one toe Leave and reposition once you're 100% hp. This is to avoid the sometimes unlucky bit where you stack together as he begins casting Missile Salvo, only you stack up a second to early (Or leave the huddle too late) and he cleaves the whole raid. We had that one or twice. And that's about it Hope you kick his butt
  10. We do indeed exist - we just rock so much you never see us Jokes aside, I think we probably are the least popular tank class, despite being apparently considered equally best with Assassins. Personally from both playing and looking at data etc, they're all pretty balanced. But I wont get into all that I guess some servers have more than others - I expected them to be super popular. I guess everyone who rolled BH got to lvl 10 and thought..."Do I want 1 blaster...or two...." And thus the army of Mercs was born.
  11. It was released early and lacking a certain grip on players for endgame at the moment. As that guy said - that will probably be the case for a while, and well thats life unfortunately. But as far as rushing 1.2 goes, it's a bit of dilemma. People are leaving, maybe not permenantly but they're definitely not logging on as much anymore, my guild for example just feels dead. i'm certain 1.2 will bring some of them back, as well as bring new players in - get the game busy again. So that's one cause to get it out asap. But at the same time, it needs to be thoroughly tested so there's no game-breaking bugs. Because if there is, (and theyre not dealt with quickly, since naturally theres always gonna be a few people dont catch till live). then I suspect people will be even more pissed off. As it stands, I'm happy to wait till end of April, even if that is deadly close to my exams Earlier would be nicer, but I'd rather wait and know it's being released with most bugs and tuning being taken care of.
  12. Your story line 'bosses' such as "without giving away any spoilers" some big bad galaxy hungry sith or powerful legendary jedi.
  13. By 100% do you mean special attack accuracy or normal attack accuracy? Since Special is always 10% more than Normals. I've been told aim for 105% (special or normal I have no idea). This is 100% to hit plus 5% extra to wipe the bosses chance to dodge/parry off the table
  14. There's been quite a few videos of guilds killing him etc and guides. On my phone atm so can't link any right now. Try forum search
  15. Nice review, I kinda agree with a lot of it. Mmos always have potential to improve as chance to fail over the months and sometimes years. Even though 3 months is a long time, I like to hope this game is still young and will become better in time ^^
  16. Lol how constructive of you. Something like this isn't really highlighting bugs or anything, its more of a post of information for the community. I've seen other people ask to have these kinda posts about 1.2 ops posted in general discussion along with pts forum because.lots of people arnt likely to visit the other forum. Anyways, review is a bit simplistic - would like to sre something more indepth in future, but keep up the good work can't wait. Also if you have any kill videos, particularly with voice chat embedded, not just cool music - would appreciate it ^^

  18. This is a worldwide game, the times will never suit everyone. And frankly the EU fellas like myself have it much worse off, the times kinda suck. But id much rather have servers down and get things fixed than nothing at all. And I'm not whiny enough to complain about everything.
  19. I love PvE so ofcourse id love it. But itll never happen, people love different aspects of this game, so the big patches will always have to cater to everyone. Plus theres many who enjoy everythings. Ops, PvP and even crafting and shizzle
  20. It can be tricky when you're in such a situation where theres like 2 strongs and 2 elites + a champion. You can either go down the cc path, or aoe path - but it all depends on how comfortable you are, how much damage you can take and raid composition. When you have sorcs, id reccomend you start with Death from Above, which will grant you some nice threat - and then the sorc applies whirlwind on one of the CC mobs. In general, when CC is used, just try and bring the rest away from the CC and then use AOE's like flame sweep for quick aggro grab. Set a kill order, so that you dont have to generate much threat on all mobs, just a little bit on the rest, and a lot on whichever one all the dps are focusing on. In general kill the strongs, then elites, then champions - but when getting aggro, aggro the champ then elites then strongs (cause the higher rank guys do more dmg ofc). And another tip is when going down the AOE everything route - pop defensive cooldowns at the start. And use a kill order. That way as the fight progresses and you kill each mob, the damage will slowly become less, so your cooldowns should help you through that first heavy damage bit until the mobs are killed. Hope that helps, generally if possible just try and have everything nice and spaced out - use CC efficiently and use kill order.
  21. I understand what you're trying to say guy - but for the most part you are kinda wrong. End of the day, TECHNICALLY it's situation dependant. Ofcourse there are situations where guard may be better suited on someone else - but for the most part, it belongs on your most deadly melee dps. Look, lets consider the whole out of melee range dps. So everyone needs 130% aggro. In this case, guard should then infact go on your most deadly dps full-stop, whether thats a sorc or a marauder whatever. But the case above that you described means EVERY melee dps must be 100% sure that they're out of the said melee range. You see what I'm getting at? There's no way to know whether they are or not. And taking THAT risk (that the melee thinks hes at 130% range but is really in 110% range) is much riskier than the healer dying. Because without guard, he may be silly enough to dps hard thinking hes at 130% range and end up aggroing and getting one shot. And again, yes its true the healers can stand within the 15m range no problem in most fights, but again they're threat is so minimalistic, that if you're losing aggro to them, in 99% of all cases, few good attacks on said mob that the healer aggroed, and tank will get aggro back. And finally, lets consider most boss fights atm. there's often raid-wide damage. So really, the damage reduction part really is just a tiny bonus, that will have little to no effect on whether you die or live. And just to add. Yes okay when there's lots of mobs around - healer will get aggro first. But only if nobody's hit that mob yet. That threat reduction wont make a difference, because nobody else is generating threat. So like I said before you just need to hit it a little and its on you (or taunt). And EVEN if the tank is busy, the slighly stronger melee dps such as powertechs or marauders etc should be grabbing them off healers and bringing them to the tank. Such a situation is rare, as the tank would have to be kinda lame, but it can happen. And in said situation, if that damage reduction is on the melee dps, it kinda helps. And one last thing (i just cant stop coming up with reasons), melee dps are more likely to be hurt in general on MOST fight. Again i stress most, because of course there are different situations where different things are ideal. But in GENERAL, melee will take more damage, due to stuff like aoe's from boss, cleaves from bad positioning, fire from Karagga for example or Annihilation Droid's tank knockback followed by hitting one of the melee. Dont get me wrong, Guard on healer isnt POINTLESS, but it's far from OPTIMUM in 99% of cases.
  22. Looks like most of your wishes are coming true! Well once 1.2 is released anyways. And yeah, I approve of said changes
  23. This is a bit of a kick in the balls. At the moment as a Powertech tank I lack good cooldowns as it is And my trusty rakata medpack was one of them. Which was pretty crucial in fights like Foreman Crusher in KP NiM during his frenzies... But meh - in a way, I understand why they're doing it. Such is life, medpack really should be the emergency health when all else fails utility. Not just a nice 3k heal everytime its off CD.
  24. Well now I feel stupid for vendoring all my Rakata enhancements... Ah well still a good few weeks till 1.2 hits live, I'll either have to try and win Rakata pieces again - or just screw it it's TINY difference in stats, hopefully replace them all quite quickly after 1.2 hits.
  25. So this threat needs to be closed. What part of: "You do NOT get Black Hole Comms from the new daily!" do people not understand? All there is a WEEKLY quest, which rewards 6 commendations I believe. And as people previously stated, to grind up tier pieces using nothing but this weekly, would take over a year. So please, those worried that people won't have to earn raid gear - quit your whining. And to those who want the dailies to drop Commendation, you get 6 a week, which isn't much but it's a a little bit, enough save up for 1 or two pieces. Otherwise frankly - as other said, if you dont raid, you dont NEED raid gear. You may want, but dont need. If anything, the weekly is just there to help you on your way, gear up faster and aid those who dont get to raid as often as others. And as to WHY all the dailies dont drop Black Hole comms, it's incentive to raid. And it's incentive to keep running EV and KP Nightmare as well as Lost Island Hardmode. End of Discussion....atleast I very much hope it is
