  1. That pretty much sums up how I feel about what NM should be. Regardless of the loot - NM should be a personal challenge that hell most guild wont quite beat until a couple of months right before new content comes out. Note I say most, obviously there will be plenty of great guilds who smash the NM bosses relatively early, just it shouldnt be THIS early. Anyways, I have faith that BioWare will listen and sort this out eventually. Naturally they have a lot of stuff that needs fixing, and I'm sure several teams working on individual issues - so it will take time, but they should get there. (My only fear is that it may not be sorted by the next content patch in March, pray that it is - or people may lose patience.)
  2. Dear fellow tank, Truth is, using the keyboard for skills and mouse for movement is the more efficient way. You can have very easy rotations set up with each finger at the ready. HOWEVER A great clicker will own an average keybinder anyday It's as simple as that. If you want to be the best, then yeah you have to be a keyboarder - but for everything lower than the best, clicking is just fine. I can say this from experience, although not done endgame tankign in SWTOR, like yourself I've played all forms off tanking in WoW, both MT and OT. Never had a problem, infact without sounding arrogant - I was a pretty great tank And I've always used my mouse. I set my main moves in a nice rectangle (like 4x2) on the bottom bars, and I click away. Personally I find it easier, a bit more engaging and more fun - so anyone who tells you that you can't be a good tank just cause your a clicker can well: look at your past experiences, they should speak for themselves. I'd never suggest you leave or even argue with your guildies But I would have to question what kind of guild would ask you not to tank just because you click. Seems to me like they care too much for how you play - rather than how good you play.
  3. Although that it what Bounty Hunter specifically means - in the intergalactic world of Star Wars: Pretty much anyone important can offer a 'Bounty' Dead or Alive on someone. So I guess you could say we're meant to be killing half the people - and performing citizens arrest on the others
  4. I havn't even hit lvl 50 yet, but the OP sounds like its on the right lines. Although many people seem to hate comparing SWTOR with WoW, BW should probably take a similar approach with loot as Blizzard do with regards to loot.
  5. Some of us read very quickly though and as absolutely amazing that the voice acting is (which really adds some life to the missions and interactions etc) if you're in a rush etc you might not wanna listen to it all. I admit it sucks that some people don't care whatsoever for it and skip everything. But end of the day to each their own - we have the option to enjoy it and thats fine
  6. There's no problem with BioWare trying to cater for everyone. I'm no hardcore player myself - but realistically when you have 3 different difficulties: 1. Should be easy enough for all groups of players (even PUG raids) to eventually complete it. 2. Should be difficult enough that a well put together group/guild will get it done. (This would cover most PvE guilds) 3. Nightmare should be, that jump that separates the weak from the strong. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Afterall, all players, casual or hardcore alike are all getting to experience the endgame content, only that the hardcore are able to challenge themselves (while the rest contrinue to have fun challenging themselves on option 2). Think about it - it's the only thing that makes real sense. If people were to then complain that Nightmare is too hard, they should simply be told: No you're just not good enough. Because end of the day, there's absolutely nothing wrong with not being good enough to do Nightmare mode - you would still be able to do the other difficulties thus still experiencing the content - so everybody wins Myself, I wouldnt be bothered if I couldnt do Nightmare. I'd do the other difficulties, and I'd try Nightmare - and even if I couldnt beat it - i'd keep trying it (until eventually giving up). And this way EVERYONE gets a challenge, both casual or new players as well as experienced MMO vets.
  7. I find 31/8/2 to be pretty great, but as the guy above said - Cardio Package is definately one to consider (and remove some other stuff.) But if you're looking for the 'perfect' spec: It kinda depends on your role within raids or whatever PvE you do. I would probably say OVERALL 31/8/2 is best, it allows for a very healthy amount of threat - with plenty of defensive talents. If you feel like you're lacking threat for whatever reason, putting talents into the Rail Loaders can help. That thing can do a lot of threat when boosted. Course it has the downside that it cannot always be used. Likewise Gyroscopic Alignment Jets, usually I wouldnt reccomend - but if you feel like you're lacking in threat (generally) then it can help, that reduction in heat can let you spam certain abilities just that little bit harder which can make a difference. Hope that helps
  8. UI Customisation would be great - though they're working on improving it (which may or may not mean it'll be custom but atleast it'll better. As for the adding friends - you can add them when they're offline you just need to know their character name
  9. I played WoW on and off for about 4 years, ended up quitting like 18 months due to exams followed by my guild splitting up. After that I just had no desire to go back. Waited for this game for like forever Even considered going back to WoW like 3-4 months ago, but now that SWTOR is out - I have to say it's fantastic. I'ts not perfect but to expect it to be perfect from launch is a bit much - especially since, although Bioware are AMAZING RPG game developers, this is still probably a bit of a new direction for them too. I doubt I'll ever go back to WoW, and well I'd very much like to see SWTOR as the new 'big' MMO. It's similar to WoW in a lot of ways, worse in some but also better in a lot more. I've even gotten my brother, who's an MMO hater (esp WoW) hooked onto SWTOR despite me paying the subscription, he plays it more than I do!
  10. Great thread just hit lvl 10 BH and I was kinda afraid of choosing an advanced class knowing it cant be re-rolled! Im curious if anyone knows though: Im looking to spec for PvE damage. Are there generally more Powertech DPS'ers or Mercenary DPS'ers around, and second would either be more preffered over the other in raids etc? I'm not a massive MMO player, only ever played WoW as a Paladin Tank, and figured I'd go DPS on my BH. I know it'll possibly vary from server to server, but is there usually more of an abundance of ranged dps or melee dps? Thanks
