  1. Its a small enough price that I don't really care. Less than a months sub. I am slightly disappointed that they didnt make it buyable through Cartel Coins, as I felt that would have been the fairest way, as Subs could save up monthly allowance for it. But again, small price for a small expansion is fine by me.
  2. Cant be intentional, it's just a bit silly now. Phase 1 is even more mind-numbing, and phase 2, the boss still casts his irregularity thing for however many seconds, just nothing spawns, so that part definitely must be a bug, I dont think the Devs would give us two 30sec breaks during P2 on purpose
  3. No I think it'd be wise to advertise it after it launches. Hyping f2p launch is silly, just gonna cause a big spike in activity that they might not be ready to deal with.
  4. I wouldn't be willing to go to planets to advertise but I'd be happy to join the channel and help answer peoples questions when I have time. Let us know once you create it so people can join.
  5. Problem with the whole being on pts is how do you define it? Several people from the same guild could be pugging on pts, either together or seperatrly with others. That experience gives them atleast a small headstart, and yet they may not be penalised, wheras a guild fortunate to have a full 8man squad on pts will be highlighted. I understand the desire for the seperation or highlighting of pts experienced guilds, but I just think its a bit tough to define when one guild could have like 5 players on PTS, and not be called a pts guild, yet having those 5 people experienced when it goes live certainly gives them a big edge over guilds where nobody played on pts. Edit: course if you think of a good way of doing it, then do share
  6. Well he's got 12 important stuff binded to his mouse, and he never said its better, he just said clicking has no significant downside for the abilities he does click. I know you're just giving friendly advice so don't take this as me trying to insult or argue. I agree that key binding is better overall once you get used to it. I only learnt playing with keybinding in like March, as it was a requirement for the Hardcore guild I joined. After a couple of weeks, I got used to it, but bought a Naga. Got used to that in like a week, have to say that mouse is a godsend for MMOs with lots of abilities like swtor. I still have like 7 keys on my keyboard binded too, overall I have pretty much everything binded now. And yet, I cleared all of TBC and most of Wotlk as a complete clicker, didn't use any keybindings at all. I'm just saying its not As big of a deal as some people make it out to be. Clicking is worse, buta great clicker will still likely be better than a average or good keybinder. My main issue with keybinding, which isn't a big deal really, is that once you get used to it, should you completely overhaul your button setup, it can take a long time to get used to again as its mostly muscle memory. Whereas with clicking due to the visual aspect, you get used to it a bit quicker. Anyways that's all totally off-topic lol. Pretty good video as you said, pretty obsolete for most of us, but quite detailed and still to the point, very good
  7. We are now 5/5 TfB Hm 8man. We have a pretty solid 8man team at the moment, but would consider one Tank, Healer and Dps, preferably one who is flexible (eg a Tank with great dps gear too)
  8. <Element Zero> are now 5/5 TfB HM 8man. Time Cleared: 2203 :DD
  9. if you click on your map, int he right hand corner it'll say Fleet (1) or (2) or if it's really busy (3).
  10. It's cool, I think we're getting something for the Wookie holiday. Supposedly an event is planned for sometime in January too. (Dunno if they're the same thing, as I was under the impression this wookie holiday comes sometime around American Thanksgiving)
  11. I doubt we'll notice any difference at all in terms of the game. Afterall Lucasarts didn't do much with this in the first place. In fact overall I think, despite it being massive news, much wont change, except for the obvious push for more Star Wars movies
  12. 2 weeks. That's just a guess ofcourse but yeah I reckon it will be mid November. The F2P stuff has been tested a little, not Preffered status is being tested, and then I imagine Subscriber status will be tested. I also expect for such a 'big thing' (compared to all the other patches) that they will announce an actual release date atleast a week in advance. And if they're clever, they will advertise as much as possible to make people aware of the F2P launch.
  13. That's not what OP is really asking though. Don't get me wrong I completely agree dpsing is about much more than numbers output, you have awareness, utility etc etc. However gear and ability to perform your rotations etc does matter, and the OP is simply asking what's the baseline for dps, assuming near perfect execution of mechanics. My guess is about 1300-1400 on a Operation dummy on fleet. Generally the dps requirements arnt very harsh if mechanics are executed properly, however having higher dps can make fights easier, such as well the last 3 bosses.
  14. Jeez there was like a massive thread on this same topic a few weeks ago in the Tanking section. Its a situational thing, which can be usedul on melee dps, can be useful on healer etc etc. Generally yes, i stick it on the strongest melee dps, or weakest in terms of armour. However sometimes if I know healer will be taking damage for whatever reason, and I cna ahndle aggro easily, then ill stick it on the healer. For example, Kephess, both in EC and TfB. I often swithc guards mid fight. Start on the best melee dps, then switch to whoever gets targeted by the laser in TfB or picks up the bomb in EC. Thats just one of many examples where, its a bit of extra work, but if you use your head, Guard can help healers out a lot.
  15. Buy a few things, try and win that Throne speeder. Got it on pts and its too cool to not have lol. After that start HK questline until it hits raid time, then check out EC nightmare.
  16. I suspect they will drop more often in EC nightmare...well, they better do otherwise well all be waiting a very long time.
  17. This is why I was suggesting, when F2P launches BW/EA absolutely need to hammer out as much advertising as they can. Get it out there and get it known.
  18. Definitely something for the future. A few more different game zones for normal PvP would be good too (one coming soon ofc). Seeing as how the game struggles to work with massive battles that some people very much want, Arena might actually be a very very good option.
  19. It is a boring. A little bit more interesting in HM with the additional mechanics. I find the second phase quite fun though, it's different. No need to insult their entire designs though, Kephess, Puzzle and the Dread Guard are very fun fights imo.
  20. You should make a $1 appeal. I'm sure 15 people out there would give you a dollar I would. It's kind of a sad story lol
  21. Dont forget the obvious factor that as great as the story content is, it has less replay value than a Operation or WZ and it costs more to make. Dont get me wrong, it's the best part of the game and should definitely be worked on, but pushing towards too much story will make it fail as an MMO and will turn it into a subscription based (or now somehwat F2P) single player game.
  22. Regarding the rare stuff, I dont feel like drop chance should be increased or everyone will have it. The fact that it's rare is what's fun and what sets it apart. There should always be some stuff that's rare. And for the record, I dont have any of them. We have had Kephess' mount drop twice and a companion customization once. Course the mount will be a guaranteed drop in Nightmare
  23. I mean no disrespect but what you're after sounds like an MMO several years into its life. Such expansion would take so much time regardless of the teams size. It'd be quicker but not much quicker. Additions will or rather may come in the future, but well just look at WoW. Look at how it expanded over the years. That is the expansion of the most popular Sub MMO in history. They wernt very fast and could have been much faster. Heck they said they wanted to release an xpac every year, but soon realised its not only difficult but costs more while producing the same amount of revenue. These companies have some big competition which drives how much effort they put into keeping customers happy. But despite that they do everything in their power to spend as little money as possible without losing revenue. Yes pumping money and generating tonnes of content would help the games growth, but its too much of a risk. At the moment, in marketing terms, swtor isnt the star they expected, but it has potential for growth. There's no guarantee it will based on its past year, so they will simply push it along slowly until some growth is shown. After that they'll be more likely to push more money towards it to stimulate further growth. Might sound silly, but its often how it is. No company wants to take massive risks without some evidence to suggest massive rewards.
  24. *** lol. What kind of monster connection do you have to get 100mb/s? XD Something i noticed when downloading the game onto a laptop though. It was steadily downloading at 3-4mb/s for a while. I came back two or three hours later to check, and it had grinded to a really slow speed of like a couple of kb/s. I dont know what caused the speed drop, but I literally just closed it, and started it again. Took a min or two to check and resume, and then went back to 4mb/s until it finished.
