  1. Along these same lines, does anyone know if the Multi-Spec will, when it does arrive, have the option to remap powers and abilities? Obviously, the specs we'll have for PvP, Healer, DPS, etc will have different power/ability priorities. I know with the interface editor, we can change layouts on the fly by choosing a different saved preset. But that only applies to the placement and size of elements on screen, and doesn't allow (to my knowledge) a complete remapping based on what we feel are priorities. So, if I switch from DPS to Healer spec on my Sorcerer (assuming the Sorcerer healing is even still viable, which is a whole separate issue), I'd like my healing abilities to populate my primary bar. Is that planned for on the fly multi-spec switching? Have any devs commented on this?
  2. You're correct. Patch 1.2 addresses this. It does't keep the Mission Results windows from appearing, but since windows can overlap in 1.2, it no longer closes your GTN, Crafting, or other windows. Also, you can suppress the window from appearing altogether while in Warzones to minimize the distraction.
  3. They don't say. I promise I'm not the Grammar Police, but this is a pet peeve of mine. It's "bated" breath, meaning "abated breath", or holding your breath in anticipation. "Baited breath" implies you have have somehow made your breath more attractive to some creature likely to jump down your throat in response. An amusing image, to be sure, but hardly fitting your original intent...
  4. You're right, it's a minor bonus. Which means it's not game-breaking if Legacy unlocks it. Please do everyone a favor and go home, get in bed, and fall out of the other side of it this time. Your answer was unnecessarily rude. BTW, I support this. It's a great use of Legacy, because it makes sense, as does the shared Codex entries for the same reason.
  5. The companion gear you get it usually a level or two below what they'd be wearing, and it's cheap, unimpressive "green" gear. It's almost always a better bet to just make a run to your local GTN and buy a set of appropriate-level green gear for cheap. I haven't found it difficult at all to swap our companions as long as I stop by the GTN before I take them out and about. Of course, I tend to run about 3 - 6 levels above my quests on average for some reason, so YMMV.
  6. Then giving us one or two color-selector drop-downs next to the Chestpiece in the "Customize" tab would solve everything. We could select primary and secondary colors of the Chestpiece, then match all other pieces to it using the existing interface. Bully!
  7. Yes, you're definitely on something--I mean, you're on to something. But seriously, I agree with you. It would go a long way towards fixing pop problems and imbalances if the game directed your to a server during CC. I have begun rerolling new toons (my main, a 50 hybrid Sorc, doesn't look that interesting to me with the 1.2 changes diminishing my role) and have experimented on several different servers. Would be nice if the game could look at my preferences and see where I would best fit. But I also agree that the ability to choose your own should never be taken away, though I'll admit it should be the fallback option, and not the default. /vote .
  8. Um...I did use MS Bob. And Clippy was a permanent fixture on my desktop for almost three years, until I replaced it with the little Einstein guy, which sat there for at least another two... {hides head in shame}
  9. Well, Microsoft does make a version of Office for Mac. Though, to be fair, it might just be the most bug-riddled piece of software MS has ever produced, which is saying a lot coming from someone who actually tried like hell to make Windows Millennium Edition (Windows ME) work back in the day...
  10. As opposed to the Mac users who are actually blissfully using their Macs instead of standing around talking **** about their PCs with you...
  11. Having used both the current generation products, I prefer Parallels over VMware Fusion, especially in Lion. Parallels seems to make better use of Lion's features (for instance, putting Parallels desktop in Fullscreen mode creates a windows desktop as a virtual desktop that I can swipe into and out of easily, even while playing a game). As for SWTOR running under Parallels, it seems to work fine. On my mid-2010 MBP (w/512MB Nvidia M330 graphics and 8GB RAM), I can run SWTOR in Parallels with multiple other apps running on my Mac, and have decent graphics settings (mid to high on everything but Shaders). And, even better, I can do this at work and simply four-finger swipe left or right to slide out of SWTOR and into my desktop, Mail, Safari, whatever as needed. The main point is that I can run with the same settings as when running under Bootcamp with no appreciable difference. **EDIT: I also have a friend back in the US who claims to have used the iPad Parallels app to play SWTOR on his iPad by controlling it on his iMac (running SWTOR under Parallels) remotely. Haven't tested this myself, so YMMV...
  12. Two points: First, bug explosions are not considered nearly as grotesquely violent as human decapitation by the ESRB. Second, wouldn't any lightsaber wound be immediately cauterized to eliminate any blood flow? No blood should help mitigate the violence factor for the ESRB at least...
  13. I'd say this ^. After all, in the Opening SWTOR Republic movie, Satele Shan actually takes one to (not through, mind you, to) her palm and stops it from going any further, with not even a singed hair (of course, why she would have hair on her palm is another matter for lonely speculation). So how powerful can they be if you can just pull a Spice Girls and stop one with a "don't go there" gesture? Just saying'...
  14. You know, I keep seeing people claim that, but when I do Ilum and Belsavis dailies, I come away with maybe 180k - 200k, certainly not 400k. What am I doing wrong...?
  15. Or Mutant League Football for the Sega back in '93... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutant_League_Football I lost far too many hours of my young life playing that game, much like this game (though my life can hardly still be considered "young")...
  16. I already have Orange Schematics for the exact gear shown for Inquisitor Renowned and Exalted... And no differentiation between Sorcs and Assassins? I know they both use Light Armor, so it wast absolutely necessary, but it would've been nice for us to be as distinctive as you've made most of the other ACs... So, not only did Sorcs get nerved to hell, but our Legacy Armor is the same as for Assassins, and identical to what we already have in-game now? Thanks so much BW...Really getting tired of sticking up for you guys when you pull this kind of bull**it...
  17. GHL (Galactic Huttball League) - I really like the "NFL" Huttball idea the OP discussed. I personally loathe playing Huttball, but that's mostly because I suck at it (and PVP in general). But I might actually learn to play and enjoy it for something a bit more concretely competitive. Even if not, I'd probably pick a team and follow its progress, much like I do with the Pittsburgh Steelers... Appearance Customization - One thing that would really make the game more enjoyable for me it an Appearance system separated from armor values. Let armor values be determined by drops or purchases, and have slots you slide these things into that don't necessarily affect the appearance of your character. And have other drops/purchasable items that you can use to define your character's appearance. And allow complete appearance customization even after character creation. Things like complexions, hairstyles/colors, makeup, tattoos should be adjustable at any time, provided you have bought/unlocked the options. Tutorials - Some direction given to Endgame players. I've had a Sorc at Lvl 50 for three weeks now, and I have absolutely no idea what to do with it. I went to Ilum for the final quest, but somehow I either can't find it, or I did it and didn't realize it, or something. But I have absolutely no clue what to do next... Epic Armor/Weapon Quests - Give us some Epic-level quests for PVE that allow us to quest for unique (i.e., fully player customizable) weapons and/or armors at lvl 50. For PVE'ers like myself, I shouldn't have to raid or PVP to get cool, useful, stat-filled gear (the current crop of which, imo, is butt-ugly anyway)...
  18. There are two belts sold by the Starship Upgrades Vendor on the Imperial Fleet (S-1A0), the droid in the back of the Speeder/Starship shop: Civilian Pilot's Belt Slots - Armoring & Mod Cost - 60 Fleet Commendations Requires - Social I to purchase/equip Description - It's a brown leather belt with some metal doodads on it. Imperial Pilot's Belt Slots - Armoring & Mod Cost - 200 Fleet Commendations Requires - Social III to purchase/equip Description - It's black, with the cross-holstered pattern than Smugglers usually get as a belt.
  19. I don't know about having more than 2 open at a time. I haven't tried it, and now I'm having trouble staying connected to the PTS. But I do know there is an option, and it works, to allow you to move windows around as needed.
  20. I think there are two, but I'm not sure where the second one is. The most used one (though still not used much) is on Nar Shadaa, on the Lower Promenade. And yes, it has items posted by both Imperial and Republic players.
  21. Wait... You quit the game because you couldn't fit the fat *** you chose through a tiny door to get a +4 buff for your character...? I've seen it all...
  22. I don't know for sure, but I think the Dailies reset at 7am CST. Perhaps that is the magic hour for the Respec reset as well...? Just a guess...
  23. It's okay, Tool. We understand. There's only so much room in the real world for just some of us to live comfortably...
  24. First, "Mac" didn't do anything. Mac is short for Macintosh, a line of computers at Apple. And Apple didn't steal the Xerox GUI. They were invited in and shown what Xerox had done in the GUI space. They weren't bound by NDA. They took the idea of the GUI and built an OS around it, to simplify the experience for the end user. They then gave a prototype to Billy G and MS to develop software for, and ol' Billy literally copied the interface, reversing and flipping a few controls and icons. There is a vast difference between the two... As far as MS making a version that would go on to dominate the market... You do know how that happened, right? It had nothing to do with the quality or like-ability of Windows. It had to do with a very creative and underhanded licensing agreement that Billy hoodwinked PC manufacturers into signing. Companies like HP, Packard Bell, NEC and others were desperate for an OS they could preinstall on their hardware. So they signed an agreement with MS that said that they would pay a license fee for every PC they sold, whether or not it had Windows installed on it. So, if you're HP, and you have to pay a fee for every PC regardless of what OS it had on it, what OS are you going to install? Even if it turns out to be a crap OS with better alternatives on the market... That little trick is what gave MS its OS dominance. It certainly wasn't quality, reliability, usability, or any other "ability". It was tricky licensing. The domination of Windows in the IT sector is because no one could compete; none of the hardware makers would install any other OS because they had to pay for the Windows license anyway. So Business-grade OS companies had to produce their own hardware, and became niche. Same thing in the home space. Apple became niche because they were largely locked out of the mainstream market for a time. And by the time that time was up, they were already far behind Microsoft in market penetration. And that fact that Microsoft has never cared if their OS was thrown on a pile of crap hardware and sold at rock-bottom prices. (eMachines, anyone?) But Apple is gaining. You can believe whatever you'd like; the numbers don't lie. Yes, Windows still dominates the world when it comes to installed-base. And they will for years to come, until they implode under their own weight (which is already starting to happen). But Apple is slowly gaining ground. Apple may never be the market leader; they have no desire to be. They do quite well in their (rapidly-growing) niche. Let Dell make trash PCs for the low end market where there is no money to be made. And Apple will happily continue to produce quality products for those willing to pay for quality, for those who want a better computing experience. Doesn't change the fact that Apple's Macs are the fastest-growing computer segment, and a relatively lucrative one, and any gaming company would be wise to recognize that and cater to it.
