  1. You can still unlock the top ability. It just involves skipping something that is minor. There is no spec where every talent is signficicant for normal play so it's really not a factor unless you make it out to be. No suprise there's people doing that on the boards no less. I'm 50 and spent my points to get to the top again and there's absolutely no noticable difference between now and pre-2.0.
  2. Hey man you almost gave it a honest effort like a normal person so don't beat yourself up. Please use your same name tag in all future games so I can have a deeper relationship with your quitting posts. It will be like "Hey!. That's that same guy from TOR that quit all the time!"
  3. It's for the explorer types. Not the narrow-minded progressionist that wants things quickly with the least amount of effort.
  4. Yeah, they should have seperated early access from everyone else. Some of these changes don't make sense unless you can level up. They should have just started everyone at the same time if it would have been too hard. I know they give early access to stagger the amount of traffic but I think some server stress would have been the better route to take instead of implimenting changes to everyone before the xpac is open to them. Their cutoff date for early access was before they really started even saying anything about what it consisted of.
  5. Do hope everyone that quits over any utterly insignificant thing comes to the boards to tell us all about it. I'm going to leave now and check out the fresh post from the guy quitting because the new armor is the wrong shade of red.
  6. I'm not early access so they don't effect me but unlike the Illum crap they decided not to call a exploit and sweep under the rug I think BW really need to not stand around with their hands in their pockets for this one. There's no gray area about this one at all and these people that did it are going to have a unfair advantage in so many areas. At least this is one exploit you had to prep way in advance and it's not something any idiot can learn now and take advantage of.
  7. It's just based on RNG and critting. You can get artifact quality material from moderate grade missions. ie...any metal mission has the potential of returning Dragon Scales. Some can be rather hard to get based on how many other missions are cluttering it up and the number of companions you have avail. The lower-mid range stuff can be harder to get than the highest.
  8. That was just for the release of the expansion mainly to get people to 50. There's nothing planned but I wouldn't be suprised if they tossed some in occasionally.
  9. It's just the luck of the draw when you run a FP though the group finder. Sometimes you get get people and sometimes you get bad. I would probably hold off on generalizing though. There's only two things that really aggrivate me when I run my 50's though random FP (all tanks). The lazy person that doesn't spacebar though converstions. Really, this game has been out for a year and a half there's people that don't want to add 5-10 mins to a run just because you want to shove Cheetos in your face. If you're new to the FP then please watch away but if you're not you better know where your spacebar is. The overgeared DPS that thinks they're invincible. I run into this more often than I should. They actually pull everything ahead of the tank and are quick to point out their gear if you ask them to stop. My favorite thing to do is to not pull anything off this person. Littlerally just stand there and watch them fall over dead because the healer can't keep up. I've seen so many ragequit after doing this but I can't help it they deserve it. Just because you're running around in Dread Guard you are in fact not trained in a defensive tree, most likely not wearing tank gear or packing a shield. Other than that I'm pretty tolerent with people and realize not everyone is a great player or geared accordingly.
  10. There are no mainhand or offhands that are legacy bound that I know of unless there's some for the Gree event. You can transfer mods that can go into armor pieces though
  11. Bump because this is annoying me now. I have a lot of characters I'm trying to dump my commendations on before 2.0. You know, buy a bunch of Columi/Tionese stuff to vendor. I think it's a bit silly the 2 hours isn't real time. So if you made a mistake in a purchase or mistakingly roleld need on something I feel 2 hours real time is enough to fix things. Right now the only thing the 2 hours played time is doing is getting in the way of people buying stuff to vendor. On some of my guys they're lucky to get 30 min a day if I'm trying to run some dailies on everything so that's 4-5 days at least before I can actually vendor the stuff I bought. Needlessly silly
  12. Yes, it sounds like your problem is that you're not trying to install a augment but otherttypes of item mods as augments. A skill barrel isn't an augment, it's a barrel modification that can only go into the barrel slot of a gun. Go to the GTN. Select item modifications and then augments. These are things that can be installed in the augment slot of a item. They're the only things you can put in a augment slot.
  13. When that happens to me sometimes It's usually to my tanking stance falling off. Happened the other day while tanking and I was noticing DPS was pulling the mobs/boss off of me which is unusual and I seemed to be taking more damage. Somehow my tank stance dropped off when it was there at the beginning of the FP because I put guard on someone then. It's happened several times and I still don't know how. I don't click by buff bars at all and my stuff like stances are way off out of the way in unused hotbar land so I can't accidently hit them.
  14. The actual augment tells you what kit you should install. Sounds like you're trying to install other item modifications like barrels as augments? Augments or seperate things themselves. I can't understand you post really so here's the process. Buy or craft your augment. The augment might say it needs MK-3 or better. Buy or craft a MK-3 kit. Take the kit and the augment to a item modification station. Take the piece of gear you want to install the kit on and drop it in the box. Using the drop down menu select MK-3. You just installed the MK-3 kit on the piece of armor. Now you have a open augment slot on the item and can install the augment.
  15. It's not effecting me and I'm a fan of the game for anyone that wants to dig through my post history, but yea, if people are having to wait for a email to enter a secuirty code everytime thye login to the game that seriously messed up. Nobody should have to buy something extra just so they don't have to jump through a bunch of hoops to log in. Account security is Bioware's responability short of having your credentials breached by your own stupidity. Being able to log into the game with nothing but a username and pass should be enough security for people that don't pick up keylogggers or share their info. That's all any customer should have to do. Protection beyond that isn't my responsability.
  16. Everyone has a rough time their first go around even if they're experienced MMORPG players. You'll run into people that have no tolerence. Just learn the basics of playing your class and get that down and you should get by ok. I wouldn't advertise the fact you're new so much unless you need things explained. I also wouldn't expect many groups to be ok with a person afking every 5 mins as you make it sound like your family is interrupting you a lot. Either you got time to do the group content or you stick to soloing, barring quick, unexpected disturbances.
  17. I don't know what route they should take but they do need to give incentives for playing a tank. I think the mechanics of the role is fine though mostly and encounters like the Behemoth in KuS is just one of several fights that's supposed to take the tank out of the picture somewhat. Part of the challenge. Been mentioned many times but never commented on by Bioware but they must know it's one of the least played roles by a long shot. It would help with que times at least and seems like it would be something rather simple to impliment but I have no idea why they're just ignoring something that has such a dramatic effect on getting PUGs going.
  18. The is no competition for MMO's that's the problem. You got one dominating and rest fighting over scraps to stay afloat. It's the same for any theme park game on the horizon as well. I have no idea why they keep making games where you exhaust content so quickly honestly.
  19. Nope. If it's crafted you might can try to contact the seller if it has a name on it. Buy Back only works on vendors
  20. No you'll just be a dark-sided Republic player. Allignment doesn't effect much of anything except your ability to equip some things at lower levels like relics and sabers. It's pretty much just for story fluff.
  21. Don't know the guides just talk about converting daily commendations and doing away with planatary specific ones. They might mean purging stuff like Dromund Kas comms
  22. Yes there is but people still don't take real advantage of it. People get HK-51 and it's not that easy to upgrade like other companions because they can't use armorings that are body part specific(pulll armoring from PvE sets). There's other combat droid companions as well.
  23. There's a lot of games that don't launch with player housing or maybe they never even attemot to add it years down the road. It's just one apect of fluff from a long list of things a developer might add but you won't find any game that adds every single thing. I personally couldn't care less because I don't take roleplaying that far.
  24. Not sure if the guide explains it but you'd be better off getting the campaign armoring now than waiting for 2.0. It will be cheaper to get. But yeah, BH will be like Tionese is now being the lowest on the PvE scale. If you can afford Dread Guard stuff it would actually give you a little advantage all the way to 55.
  25. Sure but the game has been out for almost a year and a half and there's still currently little reason to even get past 10. That's a bit silly
