  1. The only thing that could make this happen is a new post 50 class story for the classes that are going to join the new faction, the existing story exists and cannot be altered (nor should it or it will harm those of us following the stories). The other option of course is a new faction with new classes on that faction in a large expansion.
  2. To a selection of ship, fine by me, a good idea, to swapping companion? Nothing must happen and I mean nothing that reduces the chance of them adding further story, it's the only part of the game that stands out. I want post 50 story with new companions and companion story lines.
  3. I actually think this game would have succeeded if they had forced people to do one thing and not tried to please everyone, that's not to say to do it my way, it's failing because it has become mediocre to try and not offend anyone's wishes. It would have done better starting off smaller as a niche game with a strong playerbase to build on and let anyone that didn't like the style just leave instead of keep adjusting it's philosophy and direction due cater for every complaint.
  4. Quite a strange thing to do as a roleplayer, to be honest the levelling is the game here, the voice overs are the thing that holds the majority of the fans, if they don't produce more fully voiced class stories soon you will see a large percentage of the people that are left leave the game. I think a lot of the subscribers are hanging around for their free cartel coins before they drop to free to play. I now only play the story as endgame doesn't interest me in this game at all (I've completed a large chunk of it but it's all instanced with no open world content so meh).
  5. It's really the same thing that is harming all new MMOs across the board, TOR has suffered from it from day one. The problem is size, the amount of players that need to play for it to make a profit, for a game to survive it needs to decide who it's clients are and what it is aiming for. If TOR had picked one single direction, aimed at keeping to a single philosophy and let everyone that that direction and philosophy didn't suit go it would have developed a loyal playerbase and demographic to cater for. The problem is such a playerbase and demographic isn't big enough for what it cost to make so it has to try a cater for more people, a lot more people. Then what happens is that demographic A wants something that irritates demographic B, who campaign for something that demographic C get annoyed and and all 3 leave. It's quite that simple, they tried too hard to please everyone and ended up pleasing no one because pleasing a single demographic would not have generated enough funds for the game to survive.
  6. For me a better all round solution would be a quick bar tab on the character sheet, you can set up as many buttons as you want, drag and drop the non essential buttons that you click onto you UI and the rest simply hotkey and hide, no clutter on your screen unless you wish to click all of your skill. All of the buttons I use are keybound and I don't need to look at the bars at all, you could have a single icon on the screen showing the universal cool down and another icon that flashes the symbol of an ability that uses parameters outside of the universal cooldown when it becomes available. Edit: I typed "as" with a double "s" accidentally, the swear filter blanked the word...
  7. Yes I noticed that, it's edited now
  8. Mainly because 50c a day is equal to $30 every 2 months, therefore instead of playing an MMO I could buy a single player RPG every 2 months so logically I expect to have a full game's worth of content in every 2 month period as that is what my money is worth in this context.
  9. I would say that it is only the story, voice overs and starwars label that keeps the subscribers that are left. The endgame is disjointed and limited, most other games have more endgame content due to the length of time that they have been running, there are a lot of bugs around. One thing I can't understand is why players that have no interest in the story and the voice overs (thus no interest in playing a starwars tale) are still here, there are better dungeons and raids to be had in other games, if raiding was my incentive to playing I wouldn't be playing this game any more. But as it is I have played through most Ops and Fps and PvP maps on my main character, my alts are just doing the story.
  10. The problem is twofold, firstly the amount of work all the voice overs would take for a new class, plus the work of adding an exclusive 200 hour unique class story from level 1 to 50. The 2nd problem is that if you don't do the voice overs and the class story then a large section of your player base will not but it if they are F2P and rage unsub if they are P2P. There are plenty of people begging for new class stories, players that were drawn to this game because of those stories and voice overs, releasing a class without one would be another nail in the coffin. I think the best you can expect is a splitting of the the advance classes for more specialist roles, that said I would love to see a traditional pet class in this game.
  11. I agree with the OP. For me it's the lack of continuity from the levelling game to the level 50 game, when levelling after the game 1st came out my biggest complaint was having no multigroup content, we had guild members spread over all level ranges but the only time you could do any content (other than heroics) with more than 4 people is at level 50. It left us a bit sour to start with, why couldn't the mid level FPs be tailored so you could play them with 4/8/12 players? The biggest issue at 50 is that you come out of a very linear levelling experience to find that you have to start again in a non-linear rather chaotic gear grind, even if you spent a lot of time in PvP your time and effort is worthless as you can't perform in level 50 PvP with the gear that you can get as a fresh 50. There is no flow to the 50 FPs (in fact there are no 50 FPs just rehashes of lower level FPs) the rewards you get are now just based around dailies regardless of which FP or OP you do as BH gear renders everything except some Rakata irrelevant. The game should give you a basic set to do your Ops and 50 FPs in whe you finish the story, then that set should be upgradable from HM FPs, which should be upgradeable from OPs, which should be upgradable from HM OPs. Actual progressing through each area of the game not the chaotic reward system that we have now whereby you can get what you want by skipping most of the content. There is also a very big need for open world dungeons and raids to allow people flexibility away from teleporting group finders and instances.
  12. [shrug] it is actually as I can walk away and not converse with you, you're the one that has to live with what ever persona you create for yourself. The whole "I act how I want and don't care what others think" is a big part of the problem in the game community.
  13. To be perfectly honest it doesn't bother me one way or the other, I'm an old School MMORPG player and prefer all of my dungeons, raids and PvP to be open world, I don't play much endgame on my alts anymore. Doing the dailies/group finder dailies dailies etc is as mechanical and uninteresting as the space dailies.
  14. And I was suggesting an applicable incentive in the game to make people want to kill at least some of the trash. I'm not suggesting anyone is doing anything wrong, simply thinking out loud what with all the caps and PERIOD!!! comments?
  15. Still wouldn't stop people from skipping trash, look, trash will get skipped, period, if you want to kill everything in a FP, group up with friends or find other like minded people in trade chat. So basically your 1st response disagrees with me and the 2nd response says exactly what I said in a different manner?
  16. That was my whole point earlier about the daily comms rendering the entire level 50 content up until Denova irrelevant, the group finder rewards have pretty much helped to destroy the point of running FPs and OPs. I'm thinking they should be calling the genre Queuing For Co-op Minigames instead of Massive Multiplayer Online Gaming.
  17. Maybe the solution is patching in a chance of a rare uber item on a random mob flashpoints, items that you can't get any other way than to kill lots of random trash.
  18. It's a simple case of the fact once you get to 50 everything is a collection of minigames and no MMO really exists anymore. Most of the players I run into in PUGs now seem just to want a single room with a boss behind every door, the whole BH daily comm has rendered FPs and OP HMs (except Denova) irrelevant as no one wants anything that they drop, they just want them for the dailies. It's one of the reasons I don't enjoy the level 50 game any more, there are no raids or dungeon runs just a bunch of instances with quest hooks to complete daily missions. It's quite sad to be honest that dailies and instances are even referred to as MMOs.
  19. Never had a problem with it solo, not even when I knock an enemy off of a ledge and the companion runs off to kill them, they always come back when out of combat.
  20. When I did that one I didn't stand on the pipes but on the metal ring that the pipes go into, it is a shorter jump from a higher vantage point. Also you jump further with run turned on than with walk turned on without needing a run up. I found the best way to do a standing jump was not "W" and "space" together but "space" and then a split second later "W".
  21. To this is where this and a few other MMOs fail, the WZs, OPs and PvP are so instnced they are not massive player at all but multiplayer minigames. Get me 20 -30 players in one of those instances and it'll be massive multiplayer.
  22. Agreed, what we have now are empty worlds with everyone playing minigames for drops and commendations.
  23. It's pretty much working as intended, the intent is for people to travel around using their ships and not for them to Quick travel all over the place.
  24. Agreed, give me Lower Guk, The Plane of Hate or Splitpaw over Eternity Vault any day.
  25. I completely disagree, in fact I am of the opinion that the flashpoints and Operations should be on the planets and you should have to travel to them instead getting teleported from a queue, more openworld less instances please.
