  1. This game already has arenas, they're called warzones. Any instanced pvp battle that is less then 10 vs 10 = arena. TOR is apparantly not capable of anything more.
  2. Can't really say I'm exited for this. The fact that it's limited to guilds means we'll just end up getting a bunch of questions and answers about boring stuff like guild banks or hard mode raids.
  3. They should just make all armour, whether it be orange, green, blue, purple or even white, fully modable.
  4. Another week with no answers on SGRA despite it being the most asked question each week. I highly doubt the guild summit is going to provide any answers about them, or provide any interesting information about anything for that matter, so it looks like we'll have to wait even longer. When I heard SGRA wont going to be in the game at launch I was pretty peeved. I figured though that it would be a top priority for BW and that we'd see them implemented in the first content patch. 1.1 came around and we got nothing. That's ok I thought, surely the next content patch will have them. Well 1.2 is right on the horizon and we know they're not coming with it. I thought SGRA arcs would be implemented within a month of release, two at the most. At this rate though it looks like they'll never be implemented. BioWare, if you don't want to add them just come out and say it. Stop just ignoring the questions and deleting any posts that dare mention it. The lack of information on them and the fact they might not be implemented is seriously making me consider whether I want to keep subscribing to the game.
  5. BioWare really needs to start communicating better. Instead of waiting to the release and then saying "lol no transfers till april" they should have come out and told us a couple weeks in advance, like they should have told us a few weeks in advance the Australian launch was going to be delayed instead of letting us find out when pre-orders went up. It seems they haven't learned from their mistakes though because they're doing to exact same thing again. Instead of telling us what they're planning to do in regards to server transfers and the legacy system they're making us wait until april to let us know. It wouldn't surprise me if this information wasn't given out until an hour before the transfers are available. BioWare you need to tell us now what your aims are with transfers and the legacy system so people can make plans. Should I start leveling a new character on one of these Oceanic servers or should I hold off until I can transfer my other characters over? If I level a new character and unlock a legacy name for it what would happen if I tried to transfer my characters over? Would they lose their legacy name and levels or what? Questions like this need answering and they need answering now, not in april.
  6. As I posted in another thread: Wow BioWare, just wow. First you delay the game here so you can provide a "quality" experience for all players. Then in the lead up to this launch you don't provide the same level of support you gave Americans and Europeans. No CE edition, no guild allocation system and hardly any information about the launch or the new servers at all. Then when the servers do go online it's an even worse experience for Singapore and Hong Kong players then playing on an NA server. That's really a "quality" experience there BioWare. Now, after saying transfers will be available shortly after the release and even implying it would be a few days at most, we find out that we wont be able to bring our characters across for 2 months. That's not to mention we still have zero information on how the transfer will work in regards to things like duplicate names and whether legacy points will be carried over. This is just not cool BioWare. You make great games but no matter how good they are people aren't going to keep playing them if you treat your customers so terribly.

  8. I hope not. Big pvp battles are so much more fun then little arena skirmishes. I'm hoping they'll eventually release a 40 vs 40 warzone or maybe even 100 vs 100.
  9. Can't wait for the changes coming in this patch. Finally my level 400 Artifice will be useful.
  10. When will same gender romances with companions and same gender flirts with quest NPCs be added to the game?
  11. I am currently leveling a Republic character (level 31 so far) after having leveled an Imperial character to 50 and there's one major difference between the factions that keeps jumping out at me. The Republic has a major lack of english speaking NPCs when compared to the Empire. Now I understand that the Republic is more accepting of aliens and so has more alien characters. I understand that not all those characters are capable of speaking basic (aka english). I also understand having some of the species that can speak basic speak alien anyway just to add some flavor to the game. It's at a point though where when I run up to a Twi'lek or a Togruta or any other character that is capable of speaking basic that rather then expecting them to speak basic I'm now expecting them to speak alien. When I was playing an Imperial it was very rare to encounter a quest NPC that wasn't voiced in english. The only planet it was really common place was Hoth where almost all the Chiss NPCs spoke alien. With the Republic though it's something I'm encountering all the time and it's getting quite annoying. The Republic story is just as interesting as the Imperial story but having to experience that story by reading subtitles rather then through listening to the characters speak makes the story less enjoyable. If I wanted to play a game where all the quest were text I'd still be playing WoW. Now I'm not going to say that the devs are favoring the Empire or anything but I will say that if they wanted more people to play Republic hiring a few voice actors to give lines to a majority of the Twi'leks, Togruta, Nautolans etc out there would be a good step.
  12. It's pretty disappointing. There's a few companion customisations and a light set of moddable armour. I expected a bit more then that. Hopefully it will be updated soon. Also on a somewhat related note does anyone know if the secuirty key vendors sell any worthwhile stuff? I've got a security key from my CE but I haven't put it on my account yet because I don't know if the hassle of having to type in a bunch of numbers when I log in in addition to my username, password and occasional security question answer is worth it for the extra items.
  13. There are rumors that the legacy system will give more character slots per server. We'll have to wait till March to see.
  14. Don't worry, the Star Wars expanded universe is like the Super Hero universe. I'm sure they'll bring her back to life soon. Possibly as host to the Phoenix Force.
  15. Haven't logged in yet since the change but I expect my preference is going to be what ever option it has defaulted to when I log in. The only CD display that annoyed me was when they first made a change to how the CD display worked so if it's stuck on that one I guess I'll change it.
  16. You listed red twice OP. The current colours I know that are in game are: red, blue, green, yellow, orange, purple, magenta, cyan, white, red with black core, yellow with black core, blue with black core, green with black core. That's 13 colours if you count having a black core as a different colour. It's pretty disappointing. Chances are there are currently some colours in the game that no ones discovered yet. For example I don't know of anyone who actually has a white crystal, the only reason we know about it is because a GM goofed when restoring a colour crystal to a player. For all we know there's black core versions of all current colours and also more shades of the current colours, like a dark blue crystal of something. Even if that's the case though it seems they're so rare as to make them non-existent for normal players. Most people are only ever going to have access to seven or so colours. I get BioWare wanting to have some rare colours but it wouldn't kill them to throw a couple more out there for the normal players to choose from. Also I have to say I don't remember there being that many colours in KoTOR. I played through it last year and it only had 4 different colours: red, blue, green and yellow.
  17. I hate how they tease us with the music. When you log into your character some music will start playing and then 30 seconds it will just cut out mid note and you'll be playing in silence. Then you'll be running around the world, fighting a group of mobs or talking to an NPC and some classic SW music will start up, play for about 5 seconds and then just fade away.
  18. I have to agree, there are way too many abilities. You're pretty much required to use some sort of mmo mouse if you want to play this game properly. I also agree that looking at your buff bar for procs is boring. Hopefully they'll eventually implement something like WoW has were when you proc it lets you know if a giant on screen graphic around your character. Combat is a lot more fun when you're watching your character rather then watching a tiny portion of your screen.
  19. You ask for an animation that better fits Jedi lore after having just asked to give Jedi blue lightning. This contradiction put a smile on my face. I know Jedi using lightning isn't unheard of in Star Wars but I still found the OP's post slightly funny. Having said all that I do think they'll give Jedi lightning eventually. They'll probably tie it into the legacy system some how. If you reach level 50 on an Inquisitor you unlock lightning for your Consular and vice versa for Consular attacks being unlocked for Inquisitors. I can see them doing that for all mirror classes in some capacity. Troopers getting a flamethrower and jetpack ability for example. Honestly though I don't really think BioWare needs to add any incentive to roll Republic. I leveled up a Sith Warrior first and found it amazing. I am now leveling a Jedi Consular and I went into it with a bit of trepidation because I expected the experience to be horrible based on how everyone complains about the Republic side and how badly they're outnumbered. I had no need to worry though because the Republic side is just as good as the Empire side, sometimes even better. The Consular story isn't as gripping as the Warrior's story but it's interesting enough and besides that's a class issue not a faction issue. Even the gear isn't as bad as people made out, though they could use a few more options. The only thing I think they really need to change about the Republic is to change C2-N2's voice because at the moment it's bad enough to make your ears want to bleed.
  20. I'd like an answer to this question to. My legacy level is only 7 but I'd hate to have to grind my way through those seven levels again.
  21. Heads up for anyone thinking of trying this, most people don't appreciate being randomly whispered and asked to join a group. Expect many rude replies and to end up on many peoples ignore lists.
  22. EA always charges Australia more, even for digital downloads. It's why I never use Origin or buy EA games from Steam.
  23. Here's a better question: How does the Republic get defeated in the Old Republic? We know the Republic loses, else it wouldn't be known as the Old Republic. Old Republic implies that the Republic was destroyed and a new one, the one we see in episodes 1 - 3, took its place. Before you argue that it's just called the Old Republic because it happened 3000 years before the films and so is pretty old keep in mind that the Republic in the Old Republic has been around for 20,000 years but they don't refer to the Republic that existed thousands of years before them as the Old Republic. The fact that there's a distinction between the Old Republic and the new Republic we see in the films implies that something happened to interupt the life cycle of the original Republic, it didn't just carry on straight up to the films.
