  1. Good news, but this has me a bit worried that they won't be implementing SGRA with companions. Also a bit concerned that any same gender flirts are only going to take play with new content, which would mean 50 levels of nothing.
  2. Events are only temporary content. I'd much prefer them to work on adding things that are going to be in the game long term. Heck, I think having the Rakghoul event was one of the biggest mistakes BioWare made with this game. The game was suffering, was hemorrhaging players, and instead of working on addingmuch requested features that would keep players playing long term, like more raids, a dungeon finder, SGRA, chat bubbles etc, they instead added a couple quests that were only around for a week. A big mislocation of resources in my opinion.
  3. Expert Grip You have mastered lightsaber combat. This ability allows you to use a double bladed lightsaber in your main hand.
  4. I was surprised to come back after several months away to find that the bug where companions don't sheath double bladed lightsabers properly still persists. In fact, it doesn't look like much has been done to the game at all. It seems a majority of the year went to creating the cartel market.
  5. You could always spec Wynne or Morrigan as Arcane Warriors and have them tank.
  6. Out of curiosity, have you guys also been campaigning for same gender flirts with quest NPCs or have you just being asking for same gender romances with companion? I'd really love same gender romances with companion, and if that's all BioWare wants to add I'll take it, but I'd also really like to be able to flirt with same gender quest NPCs. I've held off rolling both a Smuggler and an Imperial Agent as I've heard they're pretty flirt heavy classes and I'd like an answer to this before deciding whether or not to roll them.
  7. Or, you know, they could let us buy the items we want outright and use that money to help fund the game. As it is, the cartel market is getting none of my money.
  8. Those random packs represent the absolute worst of gaming and corporate greed and BioWare should be ashamed for using them in ME3 and TOR. Just let me buy the items I want outright, don't make me play the damn lotto to get them.
  9. This is really good news. Back before TOR launched they said they weren't going to have any real life holiday events and I'm glad to see they're sticking to that. Seeing Christmas trees sitting around the Imperial Fleet would be horrible.
  10. Do you have a link to where this was said?
  11. I don't see why they don't just base rewards and titles for neutral players on the players overall level. So if you're level 20 and have no gained darkside 1 or lightside 1 you get a title. Level 30 and you still haven't gained light or dark 1 you get access to relics. Level 40 and you're still not dark or light 1 you get another title and even better relics etc.
  12. Yeah, it's stupidly expensive, especially when none of the items are particularly good looking and you can get similar looking gear for free from quest rewards, dungeon drops etc.
  13. Before the game launched BioWare promised these would be coming in a post game patch. It's not been almost a year and they're no where in sight. In fact, they haven't even been mentioned at all. I was wondering if BioWare could finally give an ETA on when they will arrive? Is there a planned release date? Are they currently being worked on? Have you decided to just cut them completely and not add them to the game? Any information about this would be nice to hear.
  14. They better not close the servers down. It's nice to be able to play one MMO without lagging. It would be especially grating after they made us wait several extra months till they released the game here because of these servers (I got a copy through amazon so was playing day one, but still). I'll take low population over lag any day.
  15. Cathar, the stupid cats that look like they had botched plastic surgery. Way to go BioWare! That's just what we needed.
  16. If it's paid for then it's a sign of the game going f2p soon and it'll cost you $20 for every new update they decide to add.
  17. It won't be enough to get me to come back. A level cap raise (seriously, why is this needed unless it's a full expansion pack, which it's not, it's just a big patch), a new companion based on one of BioWare's worst companions (I hated HK), only one new playable race and it's a terrible race (I hate the Cathar as well. They look stupid) and still no word on SGRA. This "expansion" offers me nothing. None of the patches BioWare's added to this game have offered me anything.
  18. Dear Vette I received your email and I long to continue our adventures through the galaxy together too. However, I just cannot do it. The pain of being so close to you yet for us to be unable to embrace our feelings is just too much to bare. The galaxy is a cruel place, the Force knows I've caused my fair share of pain, and enjoyed it, but keeping two people apart, two people who were destined to be together, is the cruellest act of all. An act perpetrated by the universe's malicious and sadistic overlords. Beings of such power that, despite all my own power, I can do naught against them but wail at the injustice of their actions. Maybe one day we can be together. Maybe one day those like us will be free to express our love to the universe without fear. Until then though, I cannot come back. The pain is just too much. I hope you can understand and know that, now and forever, I will love you. Avera, Sith Warrior
  19. I think it was Totalbiscuit who said that The Old Republic is the last big MMO of the current MMO generation (or something along those lines). I have to say that I agree with that.
  20. I think I'm going to unsubscribe. Main reason, lack of SGRA and same gender quest flirts. I like the game, it's fun. It's the first actual MMORPG that I'd actually call an RPG. The story and leveling is great and I'm willing to over look things like the lack of chat bubbles or a dungeon finder because of that. However, after waiting 6 months and 2 major content patches I'm just not going to wait any more for them to implement SGRA. I currently have two level 50s and I'd love to level up more characters but the lack of SGRA has killed any desire for me to do that. When (more like IF at the moment) they do add SGRA I might come back, depending how they do it. If they make it retroactive, if they make current companions romanceable by any gender and make quest givers flirtable by any gender, then I'll definitely be back. If not then I can't see myself playing the game again.
  21. Are SGRA and same-gender quest flirts coming in 1.3? Because if they're not then I'm out. I've been patient enough, 6 months and two major content patches since the game launch and those two things still aren't in the game? I bought the game for the story but it's clear your priorities are churning out boring raids and rated warzones (which will destroy pvp in my opinion). I can see I'm not wanted here.
  22. I get them considering The Sims and Battlefield to be more important but Medal of Honor? Really? Seems they're still in the mindset of wanting to beat CoD and will keep turning out terrible fps till it happens.
  23. Warning, this post will contain spoilers for the Jedi Consular story. If you don't want it spoiled, do not read. So I just finished the Jedi Consular story and I have to say that I think it needs retconning/changing or, baring that, when it's added to in the future (in a new expansion maybe?) there's some things BioWare needs to avoid doing. The Consular's story isn't bad, but it's far from good. Some of the issues I had with it were: 1: Often, it didn't really feel like a class story, it felt like an extra planet story. The class stories are supossed to make you feel like the class you're playing, and I guess the Consular class story sort of did that with all the diplomacy and lore, but often times the Consular's story didn't feel like it differentiated itself enough from the planet's story. This was especially true with Belsavis and Voss. Both Gaiden Ko's story and the Esh-kha's story could have been run by any of the classes and you wouldn't have known you were running a Consular class quest. 2: The chapters didn't really flow into each other very well and things that happened in previous chapters are never bought up again. For example, you never hear of Master Yuon again after you save her. 3: The earlier class stories (prologue and chapter 1) feel pretty boring. Going around to cure Masters isn't really the most exiting thing to do. 4: Companions. There's just so much wrong with companions for the Jedi Consular. For starters, it's a total sausage fest. You only get one female companion and you don't get her until near the end of the game. You'd think having so many male companions would mean female Consulars would get an extra romance but nope, BioWare decided Zenith shouldn't be romanceable for some reason. I mean I get Jedi aren't supposed to romance anyone at all but still. Another thing is, the levels you get your companions at suck. You get your first companion at level 7, same as every other class. You don't get your second companion though (not counting the droid) until level 23/24 when you leave Nar Shaddaa, don't get your third companion until level 35/36 when you leave Balmorra and then you don't get your fourth and fith companions until you're around level 44/45. Compare that to the Sith Warriors companion progression of level 7, 20, 30, 36, 44 and you see just how horrible it really is. Then there's also flaws with some of your companion's stories. Take Nadia for example. You find out she has the ability to use the force and then it's never bought up again until suddenly she's running around with a Lightsaber (where'd she get that from?) and trying to save her father. Ok, so I think that's all. Now, what changes would I make to the story? Well, for one, I'd try and link the chapters together a little more. Yuon should continue to be mentioned throughout the entire story, not just forgotten about. At the very end after you've beaten the First Son/Master Syo you should be given the dark side option of killing him or the light side option of using the shielding ability you learned ages ago to help him break free of the First Son's grasp. Your interaction with the old masters holocrons also needs to be expanded. You need to be able to ask them more questions and dive deeper into the lore. With Bastila in particular you should be able to bring up both Revan and Satele. The next major thing that needs to change is the companions. First up, the level you need to get them should change. You should gain Theran as a companion at the very start of Nar Shaddaa when you're level 20. Story wise it would be explained that he's just helping you on the planet and once the class story for the planet ends he'll say his goodbyes, only to turn up waiting for you in your ship hanged because he wants to join you full time. You should gain Nadia at level 30/after you finish chapter 1 and her story also needs to be changed a bit. Her new story would be, she's being trained as a Jedi Padawan for years (this explains why she knows how to use a lightsaber at all). As you've just become a Jedi Master it's decided you should now have a Padawan. The Council decides it should be Nadia because you're about to go to work helping the Rift Alliance and Nadia's homeworld and father is part of that Alliance so having her as your Padawan would help you gain the trust of the Alliance and show them the Republic cares about them. Next up we have Zenith. Simple put, he needs a sex change. Zenith should be changed to a female and should be romanceable(I would say romanceable to both genders but I know how much the TOR devs hate SGRA's, at the very least though it's an extra companion for male Consulars to romance). If BioWare, or the players, don't like the idea of changing Zenith's gender then just replace him with a new character. Give him a sister or something who joins up with you after Zenith gets blown up on Balmorra or something. Qyzen and Iresso can stay as they are. I'd also add some new titles for the Consular. I was so disappointed when I got a Barsen'thor title instead of a Warden title. Barsen'thor is just a random word that means nothing and doesn't even sound good. Warden on the other hand is an awesome title. So when Consulars get the Barsen'thor title at the end of chapter 1 they should also get a Warden title. Another title Consulars should get is what ever you choose your name to be with the Esh-kha. I can't remember what the three options were but I chose Sky Hunter and that would make an awesome title. Sky Hunter "insert name here". If BioWare doesn't want to go back and make any changes to the Consular story then there's a few things they can add for future story content for the Consulars. For one, another female companion. Another thing is maybe adding a few more quests that are Shadow oriented. With all the classes it often feels like the story is written with one advanced class in mind. With the Consular that was definitely the Sage. Adding a few Shadow flavor quests, like where you have to infiltrate a base to take out a target (either capture or kill), would be cool. Also, future class quests need to reference back to what you've already done. Once again I'll say Master Yuon needs to be mentioned again. Who ever you pick at the end to fill the Senate seat should also play a role in the story.
