  1. Yes but the exp they lose being helped with heroic quests is irrelevant based on the speed in which they can complete them with the help of a 50 and then continue on to quests they can complete solo. Still, I tried to do this very thing and found the lowbie population widely ungrateful little ***** that would ask for money the second I advertised help. Sure, one or two good people but the rest can..Well. I don't do that anymore.
  2. Everyone will enjoy their own thing. GW2 offers a wide range of features off the standard beaten MMO path, and I'm sure lots will enjoy it. With it being B2P people can retain their SWTOR subs and still sample around. It's a great idea.
  3. The only issue I had with my naga was that it felt flimsy, and the buttons were so damn Tiny. My Goliath sized man hand's could hardly get the fiddly little thing to fit right, let alone my thumb pressing the teeny side buttons. Felt like a dang calculator. I couldn't even reach the last two rows without cricking my thumb. If you have powerful Manly hands like myself: I recommend the Logitech G700, it has good weight and size. It's got 13 keys, which is enough for me. You can even bind the mouse wheel which leans left or right into two additional keys, makes for mad quick ability poppin'.
  4. Yeah look at the HD textures. That alien species looks really cool, like some kind of guy made out of organic crystal or..like, glowing vines. Pretty neat. The graphics are similar but undeniably better in these screen shots.
  5. I still don't understand what's wrong with a numerical countdown for longer CD's. Ones comming off GCD don't need a 1.5 second cooldown number. For most of my WoW career I used Bartender to organize my hotbars - exactly how I wanted them, configured with proper numerical countdowns, followed by a small flash. I could also use another addon to give a sound queue when an ability was off cooldown. Example: Lava burst. Playing as elemental for some fights I had it give a gentle "ping" whenever it would come off cooldown, via proc or natural. It would "ping" and I'd cast Lava Burst. Never had to look at my hotbars for it. Why are we not doing this?
  6. It's based less on pure assumption as it is more based on historical fact as per their track record of implementing anything.
  7. No I didn't. If you were Implying that my sig can be used in Biowares case, you should have said "Above all else, I(we, can.) have faith in Biowares path." You directly misquoted what I said, and posted it as if it were what my quote actually said. I don't like inaccurate things like that. Maybe it is a little sensitive, but when you misquote what I write, then I will correct you.
  8. I think we're done conversing. The problem exists. I contribute to it because I pay my 15 dollars a month to play the faction I want. Not so that I can go "Well. Better play that class/faction I don't like so I can try to find some world pvp." That's just downright ridiculous.
  9. That isn't what my sig says, don't misquote my writings. It says "Above all else; we must have faith in OUR path." Not Biowares path. It's whatever path we choose.
  10. Yes, I do. I played since day 1 early access. That 1st day I rolled empire because I didn't want to play a Jedi. I wanted to play a Sith Warrior - I had a character set in mind for months before launch. It's not my job to make up for a lackluster factions imbalance issues. The fact that you even say that as an objective point is worrisome. Thank you by the way I have a level 45 Trooper who is VR 30. Don't presume nonsense and there won't be no nonsense. I should not have to re-roll another faction that I do not enjoy the majority of the ideas behind because of an issue created by development. I do not PAY Bioware to fix things myself, if you do? Well. Can't really say much more.
  11. I should have said "Pure Themepark". Yes, we will see hybrids.
  12. Would be wonderful. If there was anyone to fight. I play on a less imbalanced realm and leveling from 20-50..I encountered a grand total of 15, 15 republic players. I can't do anything with that. I even hung out outside their bases on Hoth and Quesh and Alderaan. Nobody, for hours. It isn't us.
  13. All I could think was "I have Faith in Bioware. I think they can do something, might not be perfect, but at least it's a wobbly side way's crooked step with some forward momentum." I know that's not right but, it sounded really funny when I said it aloud.
  14. I kind of wish the Genre would stop reaching for what WoW had. It is not feasible. This is already occurring however. There are several companies that are breaking away from the "Reach for the WoWstars" model of MMO and heading in new directions. Action based combat, reactive combat, no leveling, no grinding, sandbox themes such as building castles/keeps to defend. In coming years, we will not see another Themepark MMO for quite some time.
  15. Sorry Denpic. A product has to survive being dissected by it's patrons. To accept things as is and never look at them beyond the shell is foolish at best. Especially when you pay for it monthly.
  16. To be fair Uben. Bioware tried to not only cater to the niche story players in that they touted the story as the next pillar along with combat. They wanted to fully integrate story into a AAA *Themepark* MMO. However, it really seems like they gave it the Bioware stamp of approval on the story - and not the MMO. This game, all over the forums is being hailed as the Casuals Champion - the RPG lovers dream. Yet, at the end it's all just raiding and pvp grinding which is what people expect for more "hard core" theme park players ever since WoW set it as the standard after refining EQ1's raid methodology. It's a first attempt - someone else will refine it or they will as the road progresses. However, the Grinder doesn't sit well with the "Casuals" who hail the game as such a great game for Casual players - who probably haven't hit 50 yet, or will just re-roll another character to slowly level and experience the story, however that will not promote a healthy level 50 community for Warzones and raids, especially since raid's only require 1 tank and 2 healers at the most even at 16 man levels on nightmare. This needs to be redesigned. Another thing I've noticed is people saying they will add more story. How? In the form of flashpoints for level 50's, or more quests for level 50's who will get what out of it? Gear/Legacy? Alternate leveling planets? Wouldn't that take away from the existing story? I'd like to see just how the handle it. There is also the idea that Rise of the Rakghouls wasn't made until the game launched. The content for Rise of the Rakghouls - up to the first expansion was completed before the game even shipped. It's good business sense.
  17. More importantly Eve CAN BE a PVP game - if you want it to be. It can also be a market domination game. Or a PVE Game. It can be lots of things
  18. Tell me about it. I was primary dispels/raid heals/tank support in WOTLK HM Arthas 25 was fun. Rocket booting from one side to the other firing off heals, rolling cool downs to keep the tank up + raid as we moved. Man I miss my red frostwitch gear. However, that being said I think the needed dependency on players like you or I, needs to be put away for the most part. It makes things difficult if we stop existing.
  19. GW2's changes to the trinity system isn't fully removing it, it's being called the soft trinity. You still need players to soak damage properly. The thing is, primary healing is being replaced with Support. No one is going to force you out of your support roll. Healing is simply mitigating damage by virtue of restoring HP as it is depleted. It may not cater to all of the "I like health bars" players, and that's ok. SWTOR does. A support character like say, a guardian with his shield/scepter. Drop barriers that reflect damage, shield allies from damage. It's mitigation that YOU can do that no one else can. Everyone's support abilities are unique. Necromancer tosses down damage aoe's that heal friendlies. It's kind of like an advanced dual spec that you can switch on the fly - it simply replaces whack a mole with health bars, and puts in mitigation mechanics that others must respond to and utilize after you deploy them. Does that help any? I mean if HP bars are your thing, definitely SWTOR or WoW is for you, and that's fine.
  20. Tony. Please. I have to know. What curse word has THAT many letters! I'm stumped since you first started cursing at me a few days ago whenever you'd respond to me in posts! I mean I still see you're cursing or pretend cursing but, I have to know.
  21. I hadn't seen this con panel. Thank you for linking it, it really does look great. I really hope other developers learn something just from what these guys are trying. It would make for some great games, a melding of themepark and sandbox. The Sandpark. I think that would make a lot of people happy.
  22. Thankfully things are changing. Games are coming out that have quite different systems to work with. TERA/GW2/Secret world, all of which are quite open ended, and those are just the top ones that are well known. Check out GW2 if you love pvp and fantasy pve. Secret world is modern but has a sub. Tera is more asian themed fantasy with super skimpy armor (Not my thing), and you have to actually guide your attacks into a mob, where as in GW2 you actively evade. Check em out, you might like em.
  23. How long is it going to be until you folks figure out this guy is a troll. Check his name broskis
