  1. You don't have to be non traditional so long as you improve on the traditional components you intend to use. Which GW2 is doing quite well by all accounts from people who have played it. They don't have a traditional questing system like SWTOR does, which is nice because it gets rid of the "..Ugh..more quests.." feeling when you want to get out of an area. GW2 I don't believe has raids, they have competitive 5 player dungeons meant to challenge small groups, not focus on large scale combat. Something may have changed I wasn't aware of though? I haven't read in a while.
  2. Tera is suffering from the fact it's very much an Asian MMO coming west. The fact that it's exactly like everything we've seen before aside from the really neat combat system. Anime models, extremely skimpy clothes on females, extremely over the top sexual female animations. It's like it's targeted at young teenage boys who don't have reliable access to outlets for these kinds of tensions.
  3. Absolutely not! It's never wrong to be excited for more than one MMO. However, one must always excise patience, and control when voicing their opinions. Otherwise you can come off very harsh and put people off! People are extremely resistant to change, afraid of new things, and will more often than not make a decision to hate something before even trying it because of this irrational fear. It's something people have to Work to get over, and some just refuse to. Using good judgement, critical thinking, and having an open mind is probably the best way to approach anything that comes. Be excited for new things! There is NO LIMIT to how many things you can like in your life. I don't know why some people seem so diametrically opposed to this notion.
  4. Punish people for doing what Bioware told them to do at launch? Epic idea.
  5. They have decidedly Not, done this Tony. The addition of Story as a Pillar is supposed to mean that it is as vital to the game as the combat, progression, and exploration. They have Very little exploration given the worlds are vastly empty beyond the linear mob packed corridors you run though, the progression is the exact same stale example we've had for a decade, and the story literally ends when you reach Ilum. They didn't even apply a cliffhanger tactic for the class stories, to keep you wondering. It's just flat. The story - is miniscule. All they added to that "pillar" was voiced over quests which are no different than any quest's we've done before for a decade. The combat is a direct carbon copy of what we already played as well. In short, they Voice acted 1000's of lines of dialogue for "Kill 30 Rakghouls." However, we knew this was going to be this way by the way they described the "Do it like WoW" design philosophy. I don't..really know how you can not see this. I mean, I can. Your replies are enough to show me everything I need.
  6. Just keep insulting me Tony. It's very mature. I'll keep my views, and share the information I have when people ask "Why isn't.." and "Why can't a game..", because that's where I can give the information that might make them happy, might give them a little cheer for games to come. You should really relax a little man.
  7. BioWare said a lot of things that have been very contradictory. Granted we know many things do change over development, but some of these things are at the core of gameplay itself. Which is disturbing. I'm still confused as to why they chose Gabe to do PVE/PVP. He showed his stuff with Warhammer's PVP. Great time that was.
  8. I love the amazing thought process that because some people have more time to play - they should be punished for it. Classic. Insulted and punished. I know people who play 1-3 hours every day or so, and they are 50, and have been 50.
  9. Guess people are really looking forward to something besides the ancient pepper grinder eh? I don't see any Champions, I see people giving out relevant information as is based on what people are requesting to see here in SWTOR. Also, Tony. Why is it you never respond to posts that completely counter your arguments? You just abandon ship on a thread and go somewhere else to post the same short, curse word filled stuff.
  10. They're obnoxious only if you click on them and look. I don't understand why people would find information about things that are changing the status quo to be a bad thing. All it means is we'll have more choices, more options, and more freedom.
  11. What they're doing in GW2 is removing the trinity along class requirements. Everyone will be able to have access to a support style set of weapons, and can switch between what they do on the fly. Reinventing the wheel isn't needed, but improving it's design, traction, and functionality is what we should be aiming for, which they're doing. Success or Fail - the fact they're trying is enough.
  12. If you're looking for new and versatile class types do yourself a favor and check out GW2. SWTOR will not do anything to innovate the class system nor the trinity, they have on numerous occasions said they will not deviate from WoW's example.
  13. Clearly - but people who don't think rationally are often scared by things that don't inspire any fear.
  14. You're not good at math. That's 7,000,000 That is a lot of players. Seriously though anyone who shrugs off the numbers presented is in cold hard denial.
  15. Well. Because they didn't think they would have to? However, they did and it worked out amazingly well. I'm going to explain to you what happened the day it went F2P. I was there, and so was my wife. 1. Server Queues, on all servers. Crashing, exploding servers, lag. Horrible things. 2. Players - EVERYWHERE. You could not go Anywhere without running into other heroes or villains fighting it out, fighting mobs, blowing stuff up, flinging cars around. It was pretty cool. 3. That 700% increase is in Revenue, not players due to the way they sold content/items/vault tickets/subscriptions. You still could sub and gain all the benefits, or you could buy it in parts. I sure wish I could find players in SWTOR like you can find in DCUO, you know. Out in the world, regularly.
  16. People don't actually do research before they talk Poog. However, hold off the talk about "innovation" before the game actually launches or a public beta is announced. That way, it can be seen if they actually have delivered on what they said they're trying to do.
  17. You should Really stop playing them then! After all, doing something you dislike isn't fun. Try to enjoy yourself in everything you do. It's the only way to live after all.
  18. A game going f2p is based on several reasons. If the sub count is no longer profitable, or they just aren't making as much money as they would like to continue developing for the game, or they simply want to entice new players to the game to fill out the worlds. DCUO made this switch and literally the servers exploded. It's becoming widely recognized that people don't want to Pay for a game monthly, they want to pay once, and play. Hence the increase in numbers for games like LOTRO and DCUO. Games coming up such as GW2 and TERA will utilize the Buy to play method. Pay, play. Pay for major content updates and items from a store. Can't say what TERA will sell, but I'd wager it'll be more buy for power than GW2's outfits lol. Starting as Buy 2 Play will entice many more players to a game than the standard sub method ever will in coming years as the economy continues to struggle towards repair.
  19. The game will have an MT shop that's a mirror of the one they have for GW1. Now, here's what they sell. FABULOUS OUTFITS! So, yes, spend 7.99 on this awesome looking armor, or two! You'll get it forever and get to look as cool as you like! Buy a few! Mix and match! By all means spend your money on cosmetic items that people will EAT up. The content releases should be pretty much in line with how they did things with GW1, you don't pay per patch, you pay per actual game expansion. ..I know I've payed for hats. I like hats..
  20. Right, one last thing and I'm done. It's High fantasy, sci fi, or modern. Take your pick, Fantasy allows for a much greater range to be done, and it fits with the game they made before so, eh. What can ya do. Hate the Asura? Easy fix. Play WvWvW and aim for them first.
  21. Most single person RPG's aren't click to move. But Diablo always has been. If you can't remember how diablo 1 and 2 played, you probably didn't actually Play them.
  22. The fact you can say it won't meet your expectations means you have the ability to judge what your expectations are, you can probably scale them down and be okay. You'll probably be happier too.
  23. By developer videos I mean the video's arena net has put out of them Playing with people at the trade shows. I won't tell you it's awesome, because there is no point in doing that. Just look and watch the hundreds of videos for yourself. Decide if you'd like to try it or not. It being Buy 2 Play is a great move, 60 bucks once, and for expansions. No pressure. Ive done my research on what's coming out, what's available. It's pretty simple to judge for yourself. However - some people discrediting a game for it's sales position is pretty silly. What happens when (if) SWTOR goes free to play? Everything's still the same, the sub model just changes. Silly.
  24. This is how diablo 1-2 worked. Did you expect an MMO style set of controls?
