  1. It says you do on the tool-tip for my Sith Juggernaut anyway. Accuracy over 100% provides armor reduction. I can't go check for you, I uninstalled yesterday. Sorry.
  2. You get armor reduction. Since you have no parser, there's no way to tell if your dps individually is going down really. I have no doubt though that the stat spread is goofy as all hell though.
  3. Skate, you should have linked this in reply. He is wrong in his points and class balance must be adjusted/maintained so long as pvp/pve skills for the most part do the same things.
  4. Best to have abilities do different things in PVE and PVP. Makes balancing so much simpler. But, dev's think most MMO gamers are slack jawed droolers who can't learn two different sets of abilities. Go figure?
  5. That wasn't a deep thought, it was just a logical example to use for what she had said about humans and making fire. If you feel that's deep well, then.. It's a perfectly on topic to what I was responding to analogy. Of course you take the bad with the good, when did I ever say we wouldn't? You seem to make up things that I never said, or inferred. Take a step back, and relax and read the words on the page. Don't dream up things they might mean, or see words that aren't there. Just read what's in the box, and that's exactly what is being said. I'm all for this feature by the way, it'll really help groups get together quicker. Also, LFD would be fantastic. It's like pulling teeth to set up a non guild HM run.
  6. I never said that. If you could please re-read and understand that I was referring to the idea that it will produce a lot of bad tanks and healers. Which it will, which leads into my point that some of them would not improve. My sarcasm detector is working just fine. Is your reading comprehension chip functioning?
  7. I'm extremely sure there were quite a few prehistoric humans that saw fire, and fled into the cold to die instead of trying to understand it. This is a bit off topic, but this is how our species evolved. Those that were afraid of change and couldn't adapt died off, leaving those who were to reproduce and survive.
  8. That might be a bit on the extreme side Dark. I'd say a fair number react this way to tanking and healing in MMO's. I've seen it happen enough times to believe it.
  9. Still rollin' n' trollin' I see. You thread hop so fast I can't even dream of keeping up!
  10. People don't try to learn new things. They just judge it and hate it and never go near it again without actually ever trying it. You know this, I know you do.
  11. I don't believe you've actually read my posts, just saw a few things and passed judgement. It's alright I know I write a lot and it can be difficult to get through it all. You also make some serious assumptions about what I dream about. Which, is silly and wrong but I understand you're a little irritated so I'll give it a pass. I only speak on the subject when I feel it's correct to speak of it. Usually to disenfranchised players who were looking for something different and didn't get it. You're also making the presumption that I won't resume playing TOR when it improves. The game in no way "slighted" me. That would be insane, to presume that a video game can slight someone? Please give me a little more credit than that. I'm not disrespectful towards you, so I don't see why you have to be disrespectful to me. I made Many suggestions before the forum wipes, submitted many, many, many tickets in Beta and fully discussed features such as LFD, Cross server PVP, dual speccing, armor coloring. I've discussed it all. All of the suggestion's are already out there to be read by the developers. I'm still raiding, still playing SWTOR despite it's desire to remain stagnant in the genre, which is fine. It has it's good points. However your attacks are baseless and not needed. There is nothing wrong with me pointing people to something they may like because they are unhappy here. Maybe if you'd read my posts, if you did at all, in the proper context you'd see that. Like I said, I understand. You're irritated. It's no big deal.
  12. Yes people will screw up. However, I have done 25M HM kills on Arthas with 0 deaths. It happens, the thing is there is no penalty for trying again and again and again minus time for you as an individual. Burn phases need to be accomplished by DPS as healers must always be healing due to AOE damage going out / spike damage on the tank which occurs during complicated fights, despite the phase. There is still no bonus to inviting a class which does everyone else's job worse than a dedicated pure type. The fact is you can survive most encounters with healers and dps dead, if you're beyond the enrage timer that is. Having a hybrid still doesn't really work. Flexibility CAN be useful. Say, in WoW it's why classes such as paladins specced ret get free heals and can fire them off as needed if they need to at a loss of dps. But they can pick right back up to their maximum efficiency in DPS right after. Druids can battle res a fallen target regardless of spec. Hybridization is unneeded when classes can already do these things if need be. My Elemental Shaman would often spam heals on a tank if they needed to. SWTOR works pretty much the same way with Sorc's/sages being able to heal while in DPS Spec, or DPS while in heal spec IF they need to. The same goes for operatives, scoundrels, mercs, and commandos. These roles are already presented. Having a pure dedicated "Less than everyone else, but can do everything" class, is pointless.
  13. The core question is, and always will be. Why do they need to make up for a healer or a tank if no one screws the pooch on the mechanics in the 1st place.
  14. They are not going to stick with needing 1 tank for raids. It's an oversight at best. Making a guild need only 1 tank, makes playing a tank and getting into a raid guild virtually impossible if they already have a backup. I originally started as a tank, and now am DPSing raids because we have our tank and backup. They were there before I joined. However, I knew this would be an issue since it was an issue in beta testing. You can use odds or even numbers, if the content isn't designed to allow this one archetype "hybrid" than it will never fit for it. Due to the enrage times being what they are, you can't say you have rolls empty, once you fill the tanks needed, and healers needed. You get DPS. Not a lame duck dps/tank/healer hybrids that won't help meet the enrage timers nearly as well as a pure dps. Tank doesn't die, no problem, no need for a hybrid. A hybrid in a raid, is exactly what I said before but I'll say it again. It's a costly insurance policy that you may never use, and that overall costs more than it's worth due to the way content is designed. It will Not happen.
  15. Bolt, I sympathize I do. However in the current way Themepark's structure their content you will Never have a hybrid. The best I can recommend to you is to look into GW2. You'll be able to have multiple roles and be good at all of them. It's really the only thing I can give you to help. You seem like you want this Really bad and I can understand that. Take a look, it might be good.
  16. Heh. You're the only one referring to the game in such extremes like "Messiah". Can we stop projecting now?
  17. Which sucks in terms of technological limitations. However, the prospect of what they're trying to do is inventive enough. It's nice to see steps Forward in the genre you know? I'm sure it'll be pretty fun. If nothing else it'll be visually entertaining, which can engross a player more than just killing a boss. A pig is still a pig, even when covered by veils and pretty lights yes Tony. SWTOR didn't even try to Cover the pig. They just left it wallowing in the mud.
  18. http://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/dynamic-events/dynamic-events-overview/ Here, this will explain it better than I can without copy pasting it. Like I said, we'll have to see if they do it well or not.
  19. Why would I take someone who is always handicapped by 20% vs someone who has full potential? Because they MIGHT have the opportunity to heal or tank? The second they change rolls from doing 20% less healing to Tanking, they're doing 0% healing, and vice versa for DPS. It's pretty pointless for a raid lead to take a class like that unless they have some kind of ability that is Required for a boss, and that's just forcing the class in.
  20. Who would ever presume that a dynamic event for that area would be something different? Shadow Behemoth will always be - Shadow Behemoth. The point is they're supposed to be fun enough to repeat a few times and not want to tear your eyes out, if you choose to repeat them. They've already explained that there will be a lot of events in their areas. The zones are Quite large by seeing players run through them. There are also different kinds of events available. Like, giant boss monster - Shadow Behemoth. Town raids - Different towns, different monsters, different scripting. Gladiatorial Combat Environmental destruction events. Just to name a few. No one expects Shadow Behemoth to be there one day, and then the next day Giant Unicorn.
  21. I'd take another DPS if I needed DPS. I don't take someone that can dps/heal/tank "Okay". That's just a weak fail safe that may not save the raid if something goes wrong Anyway. It's the best bet to take the best combination possible of dedicated classes to beat the encounters.
  22. This is absolutely true. No raid leader would ever pick a jack of all trades class to be in a raid when they can have a dedicated healer, or dps, or tank. If a wipe occurs, it's because someone messed up. The raid is successful when the margin of error is within acceptable limits, or no one messes up at all.
  23. The dynamic events are scripted to the areas they are in. You're not supposed to grind these. You're supposed to do them and move on, or revisit them to see what else is available with more people so the abilities change. It will be really interesting to see what ANET does to counter the potential issues in the system. They've been very forward in explaining how they want to keep the game fun, and not grindy.
  24. No. It's that everyone will have a tanking style stance/weapon set. Aggro works pretty simplistically in GW2, the monsters unless programmed to do differently will primarily "aggro" the target closest to them. Allowing say, a shield/sword warrior to roll out to heal himself, and say an elementalist switching to stone form to run in and soak up some damage. I'd wager mobs will have more complex mechanics in the dungeon range and whatnot. There are no talent style builds. You can equip your character with several abilities that help define them, or focus on a different stat type be it crit, or say haste, allowing you to better customize your gameplay. ANET has stated they were aware of these kinds of complications, and are doing the best they can to prevent imbalance. Given skills work differently in PVP as they do to PVE, it should ease balancing a bit. Let's see if they can get it right yeah?
