You kind of can, but you need to be able to buy the legacy upgrade. With that upgrade and minimal interference can just straight run a class story, it's not quite as good as the 12x event, but those overcapped you anyway. Some of the planetary storylines are worth pursuing anyway. When my consular finally did her story in all one chunk it became very apparent that it was integrated in the Voss planetary questline, and should have been done at the same time. It might be the same for some other classes. You can ignore almost every other quest and just run a few of the good ones if you need a level or two, and run your class missions. I have done this a few times now. Now, if you are wishing for something like Lotro where you can roll up to a reflecting pool and jump into any story mission, or like STO where you can just select it from a list...for some reason they can't/wont do it here.

I know this is a crappy answer, don't shoot me, but it's been known that was going to happen for a while now. Don't get me wrong, I am not one of the 220 folks and I dabble with PvP, but I did know the PvP gear was going to hardcore suck come Kotet, so I prepared accordingly, by ditching it and running some FPS.

I am personally glad the DVL achievements disappeared, then I don't have to look at the ones I didn't do with shame.

Trust me, I am there with you, but they have said that there was the odd complaint that the companions returned in last expansion didn't get enough face time or have much to do beyond their own short missions. They don't want that to happen again so more companions will return over the next year when they have more time to dedicate to making their returns a bit more epic. Not sure how they will explain your LIs just ducking you for a few years, but we'll see.

You realize its only ever the try hards that say its too easy right? Like I have never posted that, 90% of players have never posted that, but we will cry when you make something mandatory (ie in the story chain), too hard. It's why they made all those story chain FPs with a solo mode god droid for us.

The OPs tend to be very low in story, and the story FPs are already soloable. With a Rank 50 companion you can probably solo most of the tac flashpoints as well. So, ya, what do OPS have to do with level sinc? And note, I am not an OPs runner, I just level alts, so I am just curious.

I have, oh I don't know, close to max wcs on my lowbie pvp character and I transferred all the rest of my comms to her on Monday, she's like level 45? I won't play her during double exp, she has her ship, but otherwise I've not played anything other than pvp.

She does seem to want to reform the Manados, so I like her for that, still if you could kill all of them, my DS Shadow would definitely do that. You don't have to use the companion, I have never used Nico or whatever, he doesn't fit with any of my characters.

Yes, I don't understand the OP, you don't want expertise on your lowbie gear and it gets boosted, you want to have the best augments you can get in green gear from what I recall, and that's what I do. So, you din't buy lowbie pvp gear anyway, that won't change. If you mean it's not worth it because you can't transfer the reward to your main, well, 5.0 you will just get cash for winning lowbie pvp, which you can mail to your main.

Well, the Shadow I plan to play almost all the time is DS, but all my other characters save for my Sorc have been LS, so, I don't know. I will probably go with whichever side is winning lol. Just run the Esseles over and over, you can get your companion to 50 that way as well.

It takes maybe an hour to do the pvp. It's not a high water mark. I get it if you've never done it but just go in, try to be helpful and mostly it seems nobody has an idea what to do so you will fit right in.

Me too, the only reason I made any DvL alts. We get another sexy company tomorrow, or at least if we were subbed by tomorrow, still not as good as Nadia (who was my female consular's BFF).

Yep, I am pretty casual; I leave this game for months at a time, but when I saw the general chat talking about the comm system changing, all I had to ask was, why? It's not complicated. I don't understand why they are changing it, won't impact me at all really, I don't do endgame content, I roll a character, play through a story, leave for a few months, and then come back and do it again.

It's the worst for PvP because you could actually just pick what you wanted before, no RNG at all, whereas OP gear you had to hope your raid leader knew what you needed and that it dropped eventually. I have a huge amount of warcomms on one of my characters because I was always just going to pop her into the best PvP gear when she hit max, now...ehhh.

Ya, once I realized that on replays I just stand there and say "if you strike me down I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine". I don't know if that's the line from Star Wars, but it's what I say. As to the OP, just because Shan and Marr believe it does not mean it is correct, like you character rightly responds, you've killed tons if knights by that point.

The rate is not that bad since it's way, way faster to get WZ comms than Crystals, I did, what maybe 5 or whatever matches to get my DvL rank and have 3100+ comms, so the rate is fine. You could kit out your stronghold with repub/imp troopers though, I have quite a few in my strongholds now, since that's the major thing I've bought over time. Frankly, until we know the conversion rate to credits and what things will cost in credits, feels like we are panicking a bit.

My favourite companion was not even a romance, I just want Nadia back. At this stage I will just call her up from the console because with this strike and so on, if it's not already cooked, it's too late.
