  1. I have a I5 2500K, not overclocked but watercooled in case I ever feel the need to. 32gb ram, 560TI, I do hiccup occasionally on fleet, but have no trouble in PVP. However, I will be getting a 970 soon as the Witcher 3 is worrying me and that is an AMAZING CARD for a very good price. I think it will also allow me to walk around my Hangar in Star Citizen and actually see the freaking thing. Swotor hasn't needed an upgrade because this is a pure gaming PC with no extra crap on it, like there is not even a printer attached to it.
  2. Haha, head in the ground. Well, I don't bot, I play my characters, but I do play 8 instances at the same time (not multi character following, just hanging out in town boosting my drop rate and difficulty). However, I do, on occasion, go to D2JP to pick up a Witchwild String and Titan's Revenge when I finally head to the expansion (I start in Classic). There are sooooooo many botters. And if you are talking about the time when we could generate Stones of Jordan reliably through gambling, I am with ya, those were days. I don't know about bots in this game, I am so involved in enjoying it normally that I don't really care what other people are doing unless they ninja me.
  3. I tried following this advice on my Smuggler, and to be fair, his next set of gear was waiting at 50, but I could not beat the second boss at 47. GSI Buff, I will have to look that up.
  4. You underestimate botters. Way back in the infancy of D2, Diablo bots existed, for Hardcore characters. You go try to farm Diablo in HC Classic D2 (like back when Iron Maiden was a thing), have fun. They also have bots that run every static boss location in the game, that involves running or porting (better if you have Enigma) all over some of the random levels, like Mount Arreat, and then killing waves of mobs, then going down the portal to Baal, or killing Pindle and then porting down to Nithilak, or the freaking Arcane Sanctuary. These bots existed 10 or more years ago, I am sure they've gotten better.
  5. I cannot overstate how much I enjoy the quick travel. Also, you can have a legacy bank right next to your regular cargo, which is fantastic, and vendors right in the lobby to repair and vendor things. You can stick a galaxy auction terminal right there as well. No sign yet of crafting trainers or crafting vendor, maybe they will go that route eventually.
  6. If you let her craft greens maybe it would work better. Frankly if even if you level and never go near the auction house or use your coms (I almost never do), you will still have tons of blue gear and the odd purple. You are 23 on Alderaan and did all the quests on Taris and Nar Shadaa? That sounds wrong but I will admit, it's been a long time since I leveled through questing that way, launch in fact.
  7. People in game are constantly saying that xp boosts don't help the class quest xp reward, just the mobs and exploration exp you get along the way. I haven't noticed being under leveled yet, but I haven't taken a character from 1 to 55 yet either. Next after my Knight, who has to kill everything under the sun, is my Sorc. My Smuggler, who did stealth by a lot of enemies, and looking at the 5k for killing x sub quest on a quest that gives 160k+ exp made skip most of those. I did do some of the world arcs though, right up to about Quesh when I realized it wasn't worth the time. I leveled him to 50 just after Voss and am not even at Corellia yet, so you must be missing something because my 180k or so from world quests shouldn't be that much different, and I don't have guild xp or use xp boosts. I did do the starter quest for Maqeb and that was basically a free level.
  8. Treek is tough to get if you don't have a high level main that makes the big cash, I don't try to make money, but you will make the cost of recruitment just doing your dailies, then you can have it for your alt, the difficult part for me, due to my long absences is getting to legacy level 40. I think just dinged 30 last night.
  9. I only care about my Cybertech & Biochemist. Make an alt to make easy oranges for you to mod, but between Cybertech and Biochem you make almost every mod, just not augments. Start up a smuggler and you get a +5 armstech crit from Corso right off the bat, he can make augments. So, I don't know what they are doing with gear, but I mostly use the free legacy gear they gave us with starfighter anyway.
  10. Are you playing on Harbinger? Is it your PC or the server? Harbinger is freaking horrible, I was shuttled to it eventually as severs were merged. I think it's my 3rd server, I missed the second one as I was on a long break. I was cursed for being absent by ending up on a server that crashes, well, it feels like once per day. It let's you login, then crashes again 5 minutes later, forever. So, I have to take a break for an hour then come back and it works until the next day. Try a different server. If it's the game client crashing, I am sorry to say it is you.
  11. Just practice dueling some decent players in your guild a few times per day, once you get a decent card try pvp again, but maybe train in lowbie. To be fair, I am decent at pvp with my sage and shadow but totally blow with my guardian, but I am fine at pve with him. Why? Because the rotations are more necessary to success with him and it requires a bit of concentration and players are flying all over the place. How often can you successfully land a master strike in pvp? Never if you are playing against good players. So, save your pennies, buy an Nvidia card, like this game runs silky smooth on my 560 TI, but I will soon be picking up a 970, they are fantastic.
  12. Don't need to have played it, I was deep in DAOC at the time and NGE had hit by the time I finished there so I had no will to play. That patch was a tidal wave through the MMO community, I am sorry I was busy laughing at you guys at the time. I'd watched video of the game play before and after. Sorry, but we all heard about it. Streamlining is a very dirty word in the PC gaming community, you should be ashamed.
  13. Well, the story is speed right now, and since your gear will suck a good spec is almost necessary. Since my gear did not suck I can't give too much advice except to say that you will want some mitigation no matter what companion you bring. Sometimes they die, you can stealth out of combat but that doesn't always work. I have leveled my Shadow exclusively through PvP so I can't give you much advice on leveling, but from all the other classes, dps/tank specs are fine, take a healing companion, or a tank companion and kill. Most of the tank/dps companions have a skill that shares a cooldown with their shield that boosts their offence, disable that. Also, give your companion the endurance versions of equipment (almost all gear has a high end/lower primary version and a high primary/lower end version). Have fun, it's pretty awesome leveling right now.
  14. My experience is Sage. I got to 50 by doing world arc and other quests and fps then did my story, strangely only up to Corellia before taking a leave. I came back and finished up this weekend. So, my experience is somewhat relevant. I am healing spec though. There is a skill, I forget the tree, and it may be different for you but it reduces the lockout period for bubble. I recommend getting that skill for leveling, whatever else you do, along with the +10% to how much it absorbs. I must admit, leveling as a spec seems to be faster because you have complete control of the situation, but dps if you have a good healer is viable, just a bit more chaotic. Make sure you lift, and and take of your companions aoes. If you lift something in the middle of a battle, say an add, make sure it doesn't have a status effect on it first. Check your gear, I us purple level 35, and then purple level 43 to 50 where I have another set of purples waiting for me and my companions so it's a bit different than your situation probably, but there is a ramp up in difficulty at around Hoth I think at least that's where my scoundrel started slowing down a bit. Don't forget you can borrow gear for two hours from the planetary com vendors.
  15. I've made a male and female of almost ever class (haven't got to the Sith yet), except Consular because there is no good female love interest. I knew from screenshots that she looked too young, and in the game, ya, she sounds and acts young. Creepy is an understatement. However, she is also the best, bar none, companion for a Sage. I don't find her annoying at all, just a bit childish but then, she is basically a sheltered teenager.
  16. Well, I do enjoy my Sage much more than my Commando, partly because Nadia is a super beast and an easy companion to run with while my Commando waffles between companions even though they are all super geared I am not having much luck with any of them. I am constantly getting the aggro and healing myself while my comp whittles away the trash. The Sage has some very powerful self preservation skills, and if you spec for it you can lift two enemies with force lift (or could, I haven't examined all the new trees). In any case, I am leveling up a Scoundrel and it seems as though it will be nice to avoid fights I don't want to do, but at the same time he feels weaker than my Sage, but until I get everyone to the same gear level I just can't tell for sure. I do know that my Commando, as it stands, really feels weaker than my Sage.
  17. Hmmm... thanks I will run some ping tracers next time it happens and see what's going on, Shaw will fix anything that affects gaming, at least they did in the last place I lived way back when I was playing DAOC.
  18. Well, the quest to Illum and the one to Makeb both count as class quests and give 350k and 430k respectively (about). It's funny though, at 55 they convert to normal xp even for display purposes. Still, it will be best to run CZ and Makeb if you fall short because they give commendations you can use to buy level 55 gear. But then, unless you really want to play this character and aren't leveling anyone else it's a waste of time to continue past 50 (where you get the legacy wide buff) on normal questing. I don't know what they are doing for gear, if they move the coms and related gear to 60 you might just want to save your coms.
  19. I also love it to bits. I kind of wish it would never leave, but it does mean I have been skipping almost every other quest, which is a shame. It's just nice to have a coherent run through my story without losing consistency by doing hundreds of other quests over the same time frame.
  20. Don't forget you can borrow items from the planetary com vendors which you can return within two hours. That can help. Also, this will add to the time it takes, but the planetary arcs are also quite well written and closely tied to your class stories in some cases. I know I leveled my consular by doing everything but her story arc (before this even obviously), and when I got the Voss on my story arc it was quite obvious I was supposed to be doing both at the same time. This nets you gear and more coms, and is also interesting. You can also take about 5 minutes to run through some lower level 4 man heroics to get 3 coms super quick and some gear maybe for your next character you are going to level. Mid range gear is selling very well on the GTN, so make some money crafters, but don't be ***** about how much you charge. Myself I sell for about twice the item value, but I get all my mats myself. I must admit, I have kind of totally nerded out on this, when they gave every character we made 4 sets of free legacy adaptive armor (star fighter), I made TWO purple level 23, level 35, 43 and 50 sets of armor for each major stat, one for my companion and one for me on any character I level in the future, so this has been a breeze for me, the legacy bank is pretty freaking tight with all of that in there though. I haven't augmented them all yet, that's next. Mostly because even a year from now I may want to come and playthrough this story again, just like I do with Kotor 1 and 2.
  21. You pay zero for all your skills right now, so that's tons of money saved. Gear is good for about 10 levels. Here's something else you can do, borrow the gear from the planetary vendors, you have 2 hours to return it. If you are questing and not fooling around, then that should be plenty of time to gain a few levels. Also, take slicing as a skill if you are starting out, it can definitely help with your income. I am at 41 with my smuggler now and haven't had too much trouble, I just maxed rep with Corso so I am taking Risha now and we mostly share gear. It's pretty handy.
  22. Me as well. **** this server. Free transfer Bioware, just junk this. Merge this *********** server to another one, yep, it would be my 3rd transfer, but I don't care, get me off of here.
  23. Elara Dorne I romanced the hell out of her, and ya, okay I finished the storyline and her conversations and she's at 10k, but she won't talk to me anymore, just less than romantic stock answers now. It's like we are married irl.
  24. I love it because I can level to 50 super quick, avoiding the class and world arc quests, which is what I have been doing on my other characters anyway. I want to play the stories and world arcs in a coherent fashion. It's much more fun that way, for me anyway. The world arcs and class quests are closely intertwined, more so in some cases, especially Voss.
