  1. No I want better mechanics. Instead of commenting on my suggestion you have to suggest I have some sort of character flaw. Which anyone who took a college logic class would know is a logical fallacy. Instead of addressing my argument, which is that there are better mechanics to put into place that encourage active PvP engagement you attack me on a personal level. Placing a lockout timer or afk penalty into the game will not solve either problems because a. people disconnect from the game, b. real life sometimes takes priority, and c. because not everyone has an awesome premade going. Instead of a lockout or penalties Bioware should use game mechanics to encourage certain behavior. Any beginner psychologist will tell you that positive rules are better than negative rules. Encouraging people to kill the ball carrier, score the ball, stop door planting, etc, instead of penalizing non-activity is a far better way of getting rid of the AFKers and WZ leavers. Indeed I am suggesting this system as someone who continues to leave losing WZs.
  2. If you don't want mechanics that encourage teamplay and engagement in the PvP zones, discourage AFKing, and leaving losing matches then by all means continue to spend your parents money on this game. I for one will not. I also suspect that I won't be the only one leaving the game if they screw this up.
  3. They do this and I will cancel my subscription. I do not have enough time with work and family to PvP and get my dailies done unless I leave a losing match. The current system is stupid and Bioware shouldn't have it take 3 wins to complete. Instead Bioware should be rewarding actions that you do inside the warzone. Such as: 1. Interrupting a Voidstar plant. 2. Planting the Voidstar bomb. 3. Capturing a turret on Alderaan. 4. Killing 4 enemy players around a Turret on Alderaan. 5. Pass the Huttball to a player that then scores. 6. Scoring the Huttball. Anything OTHER than this that involves a lockout timer and I'm gone. I will not sacrifice my family and work time / health to complete my dailies. Just a final warning. Institute a lockout Bioware and I WILL cancel.
  4. From another post I made: "Dailies are like a job, which is why I hate them and think they are a stupid solution to get people to keep playing. Dailies shouldn't be win 3 WZs they should be: a. Pass the Huttball to a player who then scores b. Score the Huttball c. Capture a Turret on Alderaan d. Interrupt a player from planting a bomb in The Voidstar Complete 30 of these types of actions. THAT is the only solution to getting people to not leave. Sorry, but if they don't change the WZ system to the above, and instead institute a 30 minute lockout timer I will cancel my sub right then. Get it right Bioware, don't listen to the people who want a debuff."

I still have student loans to pay off. My time is valuable to me and won't be wasted in a 5-0 Huttball game or a Voidstar where the first attackers get to the end door with 4 minutes to spare. Sorry, but if they don't change the WZ system to the above, and instead institute a 30 minute lockout timer I will cancel my sub right then. Get it right Bioware, don't listen to the people who want a debuff.
  6. You should be able to convert 100 Champion tokens into 1 BM token or something.
  7. Learn Lethality and target melee characters. You will own them.
  8. Thanks for this. Good to know it won't ruin my Rage spec and might actually make sense to get more power. BM Jugg gear is still crappy though. 80% of the pieces have crit on it and I'm at 25% at the moment, so I'm close to the cap.
  9. If they won't nerf Grav/Tracer then they should buff Sundering Assault so it can hit for 2k. If you factor in the CD on the ability it has the same cast time as those two abilities.
  10. You obviously have little to no MMO experience. Otherwise you'd know there are other games out there with great gearing systems that didn't split their community and didn't need a special stat that only effects one activity. DaOC is a perfect example of this. It's called gear normalization. Say for example a T2 PvP chestpiece takes 10 hours to grind for. Well suppose it takes 10 hours of HM farming to get the PvE equivalent. There you go. No divided community. PvPers can go into Raids and do well if they know how to play and vice versa. P.S. I'm kinda sick of these new age MMO players like the person I quoted who probably started with WoW and have no idea of the plethora of better design concepts that came before.
  11. 3. Those devs won't get raises, won't get time off to be with their families, no... they will be asked to put in more time or be laid off because the product has been launched. Haven't you been reading Gamasutra? Articles all over the place about how horrible the comp and time requirements are in this industry. 5. I got 5 pieces of Champ gear in one day before they changed the token system. So I had Champion week one of hitting 50 because I was extremely lucky. Now it will take a new 50 several weeks to get that. All the while people like me will continue to crit on them for 6k. I'm complaining about the stat because I smash people without it or with lower amounts of it than I do. I believe if you are a serious PvPer you would want to do anything in your power to convince the devs to make it so that gear didn't matter as much as it does in PvP. You have to ask yourself as a dev. "How many people will give up after getting smashed in the face for 20 times?" There was a couple day period where I was going 20 losses and 0 wins that first week after hitting 50. I was extremely close to quitting. Imagine how many others quit. The fact of the matter is the game is suffering from a large sub loss. You can see it when you log onto a Republic alt and compare the number of people on the fleet. It used to be 120, now only 40. Used to be 300 Imps on the Imperial fleet at prime time, now we are lucky to get 180.
  12. 1. A working adult with no family it seems. 2. No it shouldn't. Best PvP games in the history of MMOs have not had a distinction between activities based on stats. UO, Shadowbane, DaOC all didn't not need a rubbish stat. Fun fact. First NM EV completion on my server was done by people wearing BM/Champ gear. GG. Bioware already failed and this stat is not needed because of that simple fact. 3. Was a developer. Got out because the pay wasn't good enough to be spending 100+ hours a week and because we had stupid team leads like the PvP designers here. 4. Nearly absent. Plus it is my understanding that the weapons that can be bought pre-50 no longer have mods. 5. I managed to get good gear early because I was lucky with the RNG bags. It didn't take a serious commitment on my part. In fact we are raiding on weekends with PvP gear because it is so much easier to get.
  13. You are wrong. 1. Many working adults (who you aren't a member of apparently) don't have time to Raid 2-3 times a week. 2. Expertise does divide the community and is lazy design. 3. Expertise is an unnecessary stat because the game launched with PvP and the only reason WoW has it is because they didn't want to spend the time rebalancing their content. Bioware had all the advantages and said "let's copy WoW" without analyzing why Blizzard did what they did. 4. 1-49 bracket is more fun because the stat is absent. 5. I dare you to come into a WZ against me in my Champion/BM gear with your Columi/Rakata. I will destroy you EVERY time. Your 10% damage against me because you have more primary and secondary stats will be mitigated by my 10% defense against enemy players. Plus I will hit you 10% harder. GG.
  14. Yeah, your reply is just stupid. I've noticed a significant drop off in activity from my guild and most of us are PvPers. I'm noticing fewer people on the fleet at prime time too (Imperials outnumber Pubes on my server and I'm Imperial). Getting the feeling that Bioware is hitting that dreaded post launch sub cancellation slump and hitting it hard.
  15. Yeah, can't instagib anymore, but you still hit plenty hard.
  16. This is why Expertise should be removed from the game and PvP damage nerfed by 20%. Normalize PvP and PvE gear in terms of stats, balance the time it takes to get each type of gear and your game is golden. Expertise was unnecessary because the game launched with PvP and with the above steps we won't have Raiders coming in and owning everyone.
  17. The reason why leaving is a problem is because in all three of the maps once a side has an advantage most teams can't come back from it. Plenty of Voidstar and Alderaan matches where the fight is basically over in the first 2 minutes and everything else after that is just losing. Because of the map design in Alderaan for example it is very hard for an attacking team to take a point from the other team (especially the side points where you can fly directly to it). That's why I leave matches. But I will stay in the match if both sides have one end point and there is a big slugging match in the middle. If I go into a Voidstar and the other team already is at the final door with 4 minutes to go, I'm gone. There's no point in staying. The whole system is badly designed because if you don't score/cap in the first two minutes on all three of the WZs it is extremely hard to recover from it. Personally I think it is because the maps are too small and 8v8s are too small. Was much more fun in beta when it was 16v16 (but they lowered it because Bioware coded this game badly and it performs badly on a lot of people's machines - even high end ones).
  18. I will be canceling my sub in another month or two if Bioware can't fix this heavily modded engine so that it gives me 25 FPS on Low settings with my 6gb system RAM and GTX 570 GPU.
  19. 1v1ed a Merc healer last night in huttball as a Rage specced Jugg. Took me 4 minutes to kill him even though I was using all my interrupts. Felt like a Raid encounter. He didn't get a chance to hurt me really, so I don't really think 1v1 they need a nerf. However in a group environment they make or break your team. I think it's kind of crazy that some healers get the mitigation they get.
  20. Bioware has 1-2 months to improve the engine's stability to the point that my 6GB of system RAM and GTX 570 is enough to play on Ilum with more than 2-3 FPS - Lets be generous. Improve FPS to 15 (average) for me and I will stay. I will be dropping this game like a bad habit and never look back if they cant within that time frame.
  21. I have 2 and a half sets of Champion gear from doing WZs. Broonmark has 4 pieces of Champ PvP gear. I want to gear up one of my DPS companions in Champ gear and see how hard they hit players. I ground out the last 2 levels to BM on Ilum as I got tired of WZs.
  22. So basically they WANT us to kill trade? That is sure what it sounds like if your last paragraph is accurate.
  23. Then 85% of the kills I get on my server won't count. Our server has fortunately been able to avoid the kill trading until now, but this might have broken the camel's back.
  24. Any idea how long they were alive before they died? I would think if you killed one at Central that he was alive at least for a minute.
