  1. Defeaning Defense is not an attack. Unless you have confirmed this on the PTS I call bullcrap. Shien: "Enters an aggressive lightsaber form, increasing all damage dealth by 6%. All attacks that cost rage will refund 1 rage when used. In addition, you generate 1 rage when attacked, but this effect cannot occur more than once every 6 seconds." Its a not an attack, and therefore should not be a net gain or neutral force in terms of rage generation and instead is just a drain on resources.
  2. This is really a nerf to Vengeance PvP specs. Its a buff for the other two specs, which makes me sad as I don't want to be forced to be a Rage Juggernaut just to PvP. It's a nerf to Vengeance because our CC Immunity after change via Unstoppable is 4 seconds, and with a 2 second stun there goes half our Immunity, at least against that target. Until other charge abilities, like the Mara's and the Powertech's charge, also stun and add to the resolve bar I will not consider this to be a legitimate addition to the game. Personally I will be respecing to a Vengeance/Rage Hybrid as Obliterate does more burst than Shatter does come 1.2. Sorta like this: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#1010MZIMrorhdzMMZGr0zz.1
  3. Okay. I'll bite. You are completely and utterly WRONG. No designer of ANYTHING, be that of a Car, a Cell Phone, or a MMO, can EVER blame the customer. YOUR design is what the CUSTOMER (IE me and you) is responding to. It is NEVER the other way around. Ilum was a failure because of it's design. HUMAN NATURE is to take the easiest path to reward. That's basic psychology. Something these "devs" should have found out in their Psych 101 class in College. On Ilum the easiest path was to trade caps. The next easiest path was the kill trade. And when that didn't happen on your server, camping INSIDE the base, and when that was changed it went to base camping outside the range of the turrets pulling people in and out one at a time. Ultimately this is all Bioware's fault. Every month they would wipe our characters out in Beta and we would have to start over. They apparently couldn't give us high level characters because it broke the ENTIRE server's chat system in such a way that it was impossible for people to talk to each other, even in /say. So NONE of the beta testers really tested Ilum at all. Hardly any of us tested Eternity Vault either. THAT is on Bioware's head. And I will not have a Biodrone tell me otherwise.

  5. Compared to the Immortal Juggernaut/Guardian tank the PT/Vanguard tank is a god on the battlefield. You do twice as much damage and can taunt others and guard others just as well. Plus you have something that Juggernauts don't get. A native pull. This by far makes you the most powerful tank in the game. You are better than Assassins because you have a charge and can engage targets at all ranges, while the Assassin and Immortal cannot. I have a 50 War Hero Juggernaut and I have extensively played all three specs in PvP. So I know a little about this. I currently have a PT Shield Tech (Tank) specced and I PvP in the sub 50 WZs all the time. I usually get more medals and outdamage the DPS classes because I can stay up longer. The experience Sub 50 is about the same as it is at 50 in terms of what each class can do. Currently tanky classes like the Juggernaut (Vengeance not Immortal specced) and PT (Shield Tech or Pyro Tech specced) are the best classes in the game.
  6. LOL. So clueless. Just as the developers are. Players just respond to the systems that developers make for them. It's a chicken and the egg thing. Developer makes a map. Players play it. They react to the design. Not the other way around. Which is why everyone on this forum should be insulted as Bioware has told us it is OUR fault for Ilum being a complete failure. Of course people are going to kill trade or cap point trade if there is nothing standing in their way. IE bases with bosses at the final door with turrets and what not on the walls that the defenders can use. ^^ If Ilum had had this at launch none of the problems that the game had would have been present. There would have been NO base camping. There would have been NO kill trading. None of that would have happened.
  7. The problem is that Bioware doesn't appear to be taking action against player's accounts. Even Youtube videos of it don't seem to help. This is why they are still doing it.
  8. The patch before last has a number of bugs in it, most notably 2-3 people will disconnect from the WZ (yes in my OPs channel I see a <USER> has disconnected message in red. So it's quite possible that this is another of those issues.
  9. Wrong. I am full BM, haven't done a single HM/NM raid. All I do is PvP and even I think it is stupid to divide the community. If Bioware does this, you will have the same crappy community that WoW has. You will continue to have a split between people that enjoy playing mostly PvP and people that enjoy mostly PvE. My God. How can you all not see how resilience ruined WoW's community.
  10. Another WoW player attempting to ruin another MMO and the genre as a whole. You have no idea that DAOC was able to balance PvE and PvP perfectly without the requirement that there be multiple gearsets for every activity in the game. I hate to say it. But go back to WoW. Your limited imagination is going to ruin this game if the devs don't do it for you. The fact that there are only TWO MMOs in existence that have a stat that only effects PvP should tell you that most developers don't think it is necessary. But it doesn't, so please. Go back to WoW where you belong.
  11. Quite simply because of Expertise. Expertise has a hard diminishing return that starts around 10%. So it doesn't make sense for a BM to go full PvP gear. Once you reach 10-11% Expertise it becomes a losing battle and it makes more sense to put a couple PvE pieces in the mix. Such as the Rakata Earpieces/Implants you can get from your dailies.
  12. SWTOR is a 32-bit compiled program and therefore cannot take advantage of more than 3.5 gigs of system RAM. It is the same limitation that 32-bit OSes have. The game actually isn't using the CPU correctly, nor is it storing character data in system RAM as it should be (encrypted of course) which is why you notice a stutter every time you open your character sheet or inventory.
  13. Why do you like having to sort through 15 pieces of gear to get it right. Am I doing PvP content? Yes. Okay, well what is my expertise rating at? Can I afford to stick a Columi/Rakata piece in there? That kind of thinking and needless complexity boggles my mind. Most of you people in this thread saying it should be separate are WoW vets only. You're not even MMO vets. You have no experience with a game that didn't have a PvP stat. HINT: ONLY ONE OTHER GAME HAS A PVP STAT AND IT'S NAME is World of Warcraft. Which is basically the only other MMO most of you have ever played. Geez people like that are ruining this genre. You have no idea what true PvP is, and that developers can and HAVE balanced PvP and PvE gear progression in the past. DaOC is the best example of this, and most of you never played it. GW1 and GW2 have balanced this and honestly, while I was tired of all the D&D fantasy I might have to give it a try and cancel this sub if Bioware keeps dividing their community. They are going to have to do server mergers soon. 200-300 people online at primetime for most servers is a bad sign. Xfire says 50% or more dropoff since launch. The game is going bye bye right before our eyes and EA CAN AND WILL put this game into maintenance mode just like they did with WaR. And it will be the fault of you WoW "vets" and your crappy community killing design.
  14. Wrong. Some of us grinded through the valor to get this gear. It's like spending $20,000 on a new car and the next month the price drops to $5,000. If you WZ when you are sub 50 and get 1000/1000 coms you have enough to buy several pieces of gear right off the bat. This will get you near 8% resistance.
  15. I don't have any Rakata gear. Your argument is already shot through.
  16. I just had an a great idea. What if Expertise was not based on your gear, but instead on your valor level. Everyone could get gear via coms and stuff still, but they normalized the PvP and PvE gear, and maybe increased the cost of PvP gear to make it more like PvE gear in terms of the grind. So say you were valor rank 50. You would have a PvP reduction of say 8%. At valor 60 it would be 10%, at 100, 11%. There are your diminishing returns without dividing the community, and the raiders wouldn't be able to completely dominate PvP.
  17. More relevant question to ask is this: Are the developers stupid? I spend probably 70% of my time PvPing. But I, like a lot of people enjoy taking a break from the competitive and sometimes stressful PvP environments to do some hard modes and Operations. Who is Bioware to say, that my most enjoyed pastime (PvP), is not applicable in PvE anymore? Why don't they just increase the amount of time it takes to get Champion and BM gear, remove expertise and normalize stats across the tiers of gear, regardless of whether or not it was PvP or PvE gear. I'm tired of segmented and divided communities based on different people's activities. END IT NOW.
  18. But it won't be if the livestream is to be believed. They are saying primary stats like STR, AIM, etc won't be active when you are in PvE environments if those stats are gained from PvP gear/mods.
  19. If the crafting system is any good then this won't be a problem. I already have 4 sets of gear and am quite sick of it frankly. I am tired of developers thinking that they need to balance PvP and PvE off of eachother when instead they could fix PvP by not having a PvP stat at all and instead having a 50% damage reduction and 60% healing reduction across the board when engaged in PvP. This way PvP and PvE gear can have the same stats. All you have to do is balance the timesinks so that it takes 4 hours to get Champ Chest and 4 hours to get Columi Chest. Problem solved. But making it so that your primary stat in PvP only effects other players has the possibility to kill this game entirely. We are already seeing top pop counts on some of the most active servers in the hundreds of players during prime time. Which means they will begin the server merger process shortly. Stop dividing the community Bioware and fix your ****.
  20. Players only respond to the system as it is designed. You should all feel insulted that Bioware blamed the player base for how bad Ilum was/is and not their own bad design. I know as a former developer myself that it is never the player's fault if they do something in the game that wasn't intended. Exploits are a bit different in that if you know something is broken and abuse it, such as using a bug to plant the door in Voidstar (won't explain how it is done), and the developers have said it is an exploit, then you should have action taken against your account (Bioware hasn't even done that despite much evidence of hacking in this game). However when 1.1 was released and it encouraged people to go inside the base and camp the spawn, it wasn't an exploit. In fact it was an unintended consequence of removing the incentive to base flip and basing credit entirely on kills. The whole thing was a fiasco because Bioware didn't take into account what it means when one side completely outnumbers the other and you don't have anything to mitigate it (such as invincible 1 shotting turrets). The fact of the matter is that Bioware has never explicitly stated anything to be an exploit as far as I know. They haven't even commented on the Voidstar bugs. Which means they are not an exploit. An activity in the game that is unintended has to be defined as unintended by the developers to become an exploit, otherwise it is just part of the game.
  21. Agreed. Vengeance is far better in PvP. 1v1 Vengeance will own a Rage Jugg if both players are the same skill level. I just watch his buff bar and wait for him to get his buff and slow, then run away. If I am slowed I push him away or otherwise CC him with a fear or force choke. There goes all his damage. None of his other abilities will hurt me really. I usually hit full BM players for 2.5-3k with Impale and Force Scream. So rotation is like this. LS Throw (1-2k), Force Charge (1k), Impale (2.5-3k), Force Scream (2.5-3k), Sundering Assault (1-2k), Shatter (1-2k w/bleeds), Smash 1-2k. >>>Repeat. While his Smash is on 12 second cooldown I've basically gone through my entire rotation and hit him for more damage.
  22. Wait until 1.2. You will be a GTM god. In the meantime grind out HMs and get the crafting materials that drop off the bosses. Fill your bank with them. You will probably be able to sell the lightsabers for 100-200k come 1.2 if you crit and get an augment slot. People will buy them and strip their 58 rated mods out of their PvP/PvE gear and put them INTO the saber you just crafted. But yeah, don't bother crafting color crystals at the moment. Word is they are going to add higher level color crystals to the artifice trainer in 1.2 as well, as the vendors are just temporary.
  23. I hit 250k-350k with a Vengeance spec Juggernaut... Don't get the 5k hit medal but meh...
