  1. I've always thought pro gamers, and those who compliment them, etc.... Are stupid. Honestly games are meant to be fun. Once it crosses that line into becoming a sport it no longer becomes fun for the majority of participants. Personally I think he is spot on about Expertise. I have been arguing for months that it be removed from the game and the cost of PvP gear to be doubled to allow for PvE and PvE gear to be more normalized. I guess I'm in an competitive PvP guild on Port Nowhere (many members have canceled their subs because of no ranked WZs), but I get tired of banging 4k crits on Recruit geared players. This is precisely why I haven't leveled up my other alts to 50. This is because frankly, I would get frustrated, and probably cancel my sub much sooner. I will be giving Mechwarrior Online a try, and Planetside 2 after that. I've always been good at FPSes on large scales (I don't consider Counter Strike to be a skillful game because there is no team play at all and everything is rather predictable. True skill comes from being able to adapt to changing situations which is what larger games like Planetside 1 - hopefully PS2 as well -, Battlefield, and WW2OL require).
  2. There is no stun on the Juggernaut Force Charge. They removed that at the last minute before 1.2. Also most Tankassins pop their other defensives such as a relic. With a defense relic up you are just about guaranteed to PARRY a force charge. Yes it is a melee attack. I'm not 100% sure on the Sniper root, but I think it is the same thing. It is a ranged attack.
  3. You cannot be slowed or rooted or CCed during those three seconds. At least Force Choke doesn't CC you. My Charge or Obliterate doesn't root you. Therefore I cannot interrupt you at all. My class' biggest instant attacks (as well as every other classes) are Force Attacks (tech for non-force user classes). You are immune to my Smash and my Force Scream. A Juggernaut is the best Huttball carrier only if he is in a bubble (ie not getting rooted/stunned/slowed, and enemies are stupid enough to position themselves in front of me). Maybe the PvPers on your server don't know what they are doing, but people on my server do. The fact of the matter is that once a Tankassin has the ball anywhere on your side of the court you cannot stop him. All he does is forcespeed + immunity + jump over/through fire then he scores and vanishes. Every other class who has the ball can be rooted and stunned and pulled into fires. Then he sits around and does it. I've seen 5 scores in a row with a two man team of tankassins doing this.
  4. Force Camo is not a get out of combat ability. The Marauder remains in combat even though the target cannot see him and is just a PvP/PvE aggro dump. The Operative vanish on the other hand does remove the Operative from combat, which is why there is a healing debuff associated with it. As long as the two abilities are different in this KEY way, this kind of change would be madness.
  5. I think the amount of damage they put out needs to be toned down when in tank form. I don't know enough about the class to be specific, but I have seen tankassins get 500k damage in a Voidstar, where even with a pocket healer I as a Vengeance Juggernaut can't get that kind of DPS nor do I have that survivability because I am not in my tanking saber form. But if I had to choose I would nerf their immunity CD. As a Juggernaut I think it is ridiculous that our Defensive CD in the Immortal tree gives an across the board 40% damage reduction while the assassin CD makes them IMMUNE TO CC/ROOT and ALL Tech and Force attacks. In PvP there is no comparison. The Assassin CD is 100 times better for PvP. Marauders can be dealt with by any class in the game if you know how. I believe the Marauder "god mod," as someone in this thread called it, lasts the same amount of time as the Assassin immunity. However there are two key differences. When the Marauder CD is activated the Marauder can be CCed or knocked back. This prevents the Marauder from dealing any damage, and indeed negates the effect of his "god mode." However with the Tankassin, this is not the case. While he is vulnerable to white damage, such as weapon damage, he is completely immune to every class' major attacks, which are either Force or Tech. My Force Scream? RESISTED. My Smash? RESISTED. The solution? Remove the immunity to CC and Root on the ability. This will put them in line with the Marauder. As it currently stands if your team in Huttball doesn't have a Tankassin it basically becomes an automatic loss, and I for one am sick of that kind of thing.
  6. I haven't canceled yet. Not sure why though. If Planetside 2 or Mechwarrior Online we out though, I'd have canceled months ago. This game honestly isn't worth 15 dollars a month. Not in this economy. Not ever. GW2 will be free to play and have better PvP content. Full RvR, cross server, WZ, etc. I'm not that enthusiastic about the sword and magic world they have (I prefer the SW world), but it is lightyears ahead of this game. The problem this game has is that it is a WoW clone with story on top. All the content conventions, from PvP to PvE we're ripped right out of that game. But the problem is that WoW's design is nearly 10 years old. It's a stale game, and this game copied it.
  7. Too much money spent on VO and story and not enough on the little things. Character transfers and server mergers should have been in game/happening several months ago. My server went from 150 people on fleet now to 50 or so on average during primetime. Cross server queuing should have also been in the game months ago. See the problem is that Bioware doesn't have any experience with MMOs. You can tell from that idiotic statement about them not realizing how popular PvP was/is as an end game activity. What SWTOR is experiencing now is the classic snowball population effect. After launch fever you lose a ton of people. It is guaranteed. No MMO hasn't gone through this. But because Bioware is either too proud to admit that the game isn't as successful as they projected, or they don't have the technical backend to automate character transfers and mergers, we have a snowball effect. People cancel subs > less people on server > remaining players get bored as not as much is going on/longer queue times etc = more people unsub. Bioware needs to merge servers and offer transfers NOW. Not months from now in summer. It should have been done months ago. Hell they should have had this capability at launch.
  8. Ranked Arenas is why I quit WoW. There was just too much pressure to constantly have your ranking up. Even Blizzard devs have acknowledged that introducing Ranked Arenas was a mistake. I for one hope that instead of Ranked WZs we get full RvR. Bioware also needs to seriously consider adding a 3rd faction for PvP purposes only. Adding in Malgus' New Empire as a 3rd faction and allowing Empire characters to join it at level 50 would not require them to rewrite the leveling experience. But for a truly healthy PvP community we must have a 3rd faction. World PvP will never work with only 2 factions. Both WoW and WaR should have taught the MMO community AND the industry that three factions is a necessity.
  9. Considering your bleeds hit for about 62 with a larger 200 at the end (wow!!!) and the heal would heal for that amount I don't think it would be overpowered.
  10. Shatter is a crappy skill. It doesn't hit hard enough, costs too much Rage, and the bleed is trash. The burst is what you want in PvP. It is far better to have a spec like this: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#101zMZsMroruddMZGr0zz.1 Even more burst: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#101zMZsMrorudzMZGr0dz.1 My Vicious slash crits hit for 2k as well. Obliterate will consistently crit for 2.5 - 2.8k with my gear and costs 4 rage (1 is refunded). Obliterate also allows you to jump to Snipers and will also root targets for another second. Good for chasing people. If on the other hand Bioware takes my advice and turns Vengeance into the Jugg version of Annihilation (where your bleeds heal you) I might take another look at going full Vengeance.
  11. I have always thought that Vengeance Dots should heal you for a small amount. It would justify going all the way into the tree. Also as far as I can tell you can't crit with the dots from Shatter/Impale/Force Scream. It is a set amount of damage over time. Ideally the Marauder's dots would heal the entire party, while the Vengeance dots would heal just the Juggernaut.
  12. Well I crafted 10 more, so around 40 crafted in total. Not spending anymore time on this. More than likely a bug.
  13. I've crafted roughly 30 of these: http://www.torhead.com/item/c2IKZ6E/battlemaster-vindicators-headgear My companion has +5 Synthweaving Critical and she is also at 10,000 (MAX) affection. I have not gotten an augment slot on any of them. However other Battlemaster Vindicator pieces I have gotten an augment slot after 2, 3, or 10 crafts... It is becoming extremely expensive to do these. Has anyone successfully crafted this item with an augment slot? Am I unlucky?
  14. Ravage needed a buff as no one was using it in their rotations except maybe pre-1.2 Carnage Maras for the root effect. I second the OPness of the Tankassin.
  15. Well... you kinda shot yourself in the foot really as far as any advice I can give you. I never have to wait on cooldowns with my spec: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#1010MZsMroruddMZrr0Rz.1 I find that Obliterate has more burst, and since it also roots the target now is really good for mobile fights. You can also Obliterate to Entrenched/Covered snipers.
  16. I feel you on the Marauder front. But don't hate against us Juggernauts by clumping us in there under the title Sith Warrior. I've been a Vengeance Hybrid since... well... since I hit 50 on my main 4 weeks after release. I really only play as him, and yes I do rock people 1v1. Only Marauders got a buff. Those poor souls who are still Rage got a nerf, and Immortal still sucks compared to PT or Assassin tank specs.
  17. I still think that they should have made Vengeance like the Marauder Anni spec in that your dots heal you. Enraged defense is completely unnecessary for tanking really.
  18. Honestly, you are a noob if you are getting smashed by Juggernauts and Maras. It is so easy to spot them and knock them away or CC them to prevent from using it and it is good game.
  19. As a Vengeance Juggernaut I know for a fact something is wrong when a Tankassin can pull more DPS on me than I can on him. Both the PT tank and Assassin tank specs are overpowered compared to Immortal tank (which is why it boggles my mind that any self respecting Juggernaut specs as Immortal). Especially the Assassin tank spec. It is disgusting really. The big issue is not solely their survivability or their offensive capability. It is the fact that they have a tank's damage mitigation and do as much DPS as I, as a DPS spec can pull. Even when I pull the endure pain + WZ medpack trick they still manage to beat me more often than not. I'm not some recruit geared Jugg either. I have 4 pieces of Augmented gear with the purple Might augment, the rest BM gear, with 2 pieces of the Augment gear having War Hero mods in it (so I maintain the set bonus). People compare the Marauder immunity to the Force Shroud ability that Tankassins get. They really cannot be compared as the Marauder ability takes 50% of your health away and does not remove any hostile effects, and does not make your immune to CCs. Force Shroud on the other hand removes all hostile effects, makes you immune to Tech and Force, and immune to all CCs. You can also stealth as a tank which is an extremely powerful ability.
  20. Since all gear come 1.2 will be fully modifiable, what gear do you want? There are a ton of gear sets available already in the game, and with 1.2 all of them will be viable, even without an augment slot (though preferably with one!). For those of you who don't know what the new armor looks like please take a gander here: http://dulfy.net/2012/03/17/1-2-new-armor-models/ An example of an pre-1.2 gear set for Operative would be: http://www.torhead.com/item/3zeJ3xT/fortified-lacqerous-headgear http://www.torhead.com/item/2tfeaiH/fortified-lacqerous-jacket http://www.torhead.com/item/8dtghdC/fortified-lacqerous-leggings TLDR: What gear do you want people to craft for you come 1.2?
  21. Real simple as a Vengeance Juggernaut actually. 1. If he pops his invulnerability you can do two things. a. Force choke him. b. Chilling Scream > Force Push him away. 2. 1v1 no Marauder has ever beat me. The only class that has has been an Tankassin. 3. Endure Pain + PvP Medpack and you get back 30-40% health.
  22. Your post is what is so full of fail actually. The fact of the matter is that games such as DAoC, EVE Online, Planetside (the list can go on), have all handled 150+ player battles fine. The game lagging, has nothing to do with the network and the packets that are sent between clients and server (I obviously know a lot more about this than you do). The fact of the matter is that the game isn't compiled 64-bit, thus it cannot address more than 3.5gigs of system RAM. I could go into technical detail about why addressable memory matters, but it would probably be a useless few paragraphs. Suffice to say that the game would not be using system resources properly even if it was 64-bit compiled. This is evidenced by the fact that if you open your bag or character sheet then then entire game lags. No matter how fast your system is, the game will stutter. This suggests a structural problem with the game. The problem seems to stem from a single folder in the installation that contains all these "amazing" graphics, sounds, etc. That game probably isn't storing a lot of this information in active memory. Even if it was however it would be constrained by the lack of being able to use more than 3.5 gigs of RAM.
  23. The Hero Engine can be compiled as a 64-bit application to take advantage of MODERN OSes. Let's face it. All computers you buy, even the ones in big box stores come with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. You have to specify that you want 32-bit. Since it is not 64-bit compiled. This game is a throwback to the previous generation. I don't even get your point. You aren't disagreeing with me at all, so what was the point of your post?
  24. Bioware's implentation of the Hero Engine, or maybe even the base Hero Engine itself (the president of the company that makes the vanilla version says that Bioware did something to their engine to make it run badly), to make it impossible to have fun PvP fights. Even WoW had larger BGs than this game can handle. People running $4k hardware still stutter. Personally I think it has a lot to do with the fact that the game doesn't take advantage of MODERN OS architecture because it is not 64-bit compiled. So the game can't use more than 3.5 gigs of RAM, and the game will never be able to support true OpenRvR much less something on the scale of Alterac Valley without a significant engine overhaul.
