Can confirm this happen to me this morning too. I was on my Smuggler I didn't think anything of it though I just reloaded the game and was fine.

 

Running RTX 3080, Ryzen 5900X. Windows 10 Pro

I had a crash loading into Hoth with an ops group last Saturday (on Star Forge). Had another lock up on Sunday afternoon. I thought it was my computer and spent a fair amount of time playing with settings, etc. I did notice that MS Teams had automatically been installed at some point in the days prior and I think it may have been screwing things up because once I disabled it from startup and later uninstalled it completely, my system seems to be more stable and thus the game. Anyways, just adding to the conversation so hopefully BioWare can identify the root cause issue.

• Please confirm if you are you unable to transition to another area or are crashing to desktop. This is incredibly important to know.
  

 

The team is asking if msinfo files can be submitted by those who are experiencing this issue. You can do this one of two ways.

 

Via in-game support.

 

Run launcherDiag.exe and contact our support team.

 

launcherDiag.exe is a program file inside your SW:TOR game folder:

 

• 32-bit Windows - C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic\
  
• 64-bit Windows - C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic\
  
• When you run it, it generates files our support team can use to figure out what is causing problems for the launcher. It packages these diagnostic files into a zip file and saves them in your game folder.
  

To create a ticket in-game:

• Click on the question mark icon on the main menu, (or press Ctrl + /).
  
• Click on Create ticket, then follow the on-screen instructions to provide details and submit your ticket.
  

When you contact our support team, they’ll let you know where to send the zip file so they can review it.

 

Submit text of file to me via PM

 

• Open a Run command box by pressing the Windows key and R key at the same time. You can also do this by searching "Run" in your Start menu's search bar.
  
• In the Run window's dialog box, type msinfo32 and click OK.
  
• When the System Information window opens, give it a moment to pull information from your system. You’ll know it’s done when you click through the menus on the left and see information for each of them.
  
• Click File, then Export... Do not choose File, then Save as. This will create a very large file that you may not want on your system.
  
• Save as a text (.txt) file.
  
• Open the saved file, hit Ctrl+A (select all), and then Ctrl+C (copy).
  
• Paste that information in a PM to me. Please also include the info requested above in the PM.
  

 

I understand the sensitivities players may have about passing that info to me which is why I provided the Support option above.

Game has been doing this to me multiple times a day since 7.0.2. I'm on Star Forge and it doesn't seem to matter what activity I'm doing; it's happened during warzones, dummy parsing, class missions and operations. The only thing that 'fixes' the issue is to force the game to close and then restart. I have a brand new, high spec system with a landline internet connection. Nothing has changed on my end, except maybe some windows updates? It has now happened three times this morning in less than 2 hrs of gametime.

 

I am NOT using Steam and leaving the warzone/area does not solve the problem.

After so many times yesterday and today it's started again I have sent in the file made by the launchdiag or what ever it is to support.

 

This is so annoying and really makes the game not playable at a reasonable rate to enjoy it with the time I play with friends and pug runs and this has got a lot worse with 7.02 but started in 7.0

It is more than annoying. It is embarrassing. I hoped the 10 year anniversary would be the time where SWTOR would come back into the consciousness of the general MMO player groups. Instead, it has but for the wrong reasons. The game is a technical mess and this issue is one of the more severe I've encountered in all my years playing this title. I hope Bioware issues a public apology about these issues it only seems to be the right thing to do at this stage. So much for an all year celebration I hope Bioware can right this ship but my enthusiasm has died as well as any hope of them fixing these issues.

I have seen this issue with other players as well and in this situation I would recommend you to try a few troubleshooting steps as follows:

 

1. Change graphics settings to the following:

Graphics Quality Preset = Very Low

Resolution: 1280 x 720

Window Mode = Windowed

Visible Character Limit = Low

Grass Quality = 0

 

 

2. Repair game

While writing this the same guild member and another in my group have both crashed to desktop while standing on Imp Fleet in between matches

I had 2 crashes over the weekend. I am on Star Forge using the SWTOR launcher (not Steam). Both times I was on fleet traveling (once on foot and once on speeder). Game hung for a few seconds before closing. I have not had crashes before 7.0.2.

Location : Fleet, going on a mount from the cargo holds to the GTN section, crashed in the second stairs

No step to reproduce it, since it is random

Location : Imperial Fleet, riding mount from GTN network Area to middle ring, direction Security Vendor near the cargo bays. Screen freezes, unable to click anything or tab to desktop, then black screen and been knocked to desktop.

Look at the rubbish the support person told me to do lol the team is on another planet with what is going on I think enough people have put the information through but paying a subscription for support you get in SWTOR is shocking the game is falling apart and the current development team is unable to fix anything they just keep digging bigger holes each time.

My guild mate and I experienced another crash today.

 

My guild mate was the first one who was hit by a crash, 20 minutes later I had the same problem.

 

We were just standing on the fleet, doing nothing special.

i you are playing the game and you have a random crash,

you want to get back in the game, that the others won't need to wait longer as needed.

so the last thing ppl wanna do, is search for any logs.

 

but i can confirm, that random crashes are a hugh issue, not only on dm,

but also on th.

 

for example if you send a flagship port, this will cause a crash, even without

using the port. at first i thought it is, by accepting the port, but some get a

crash, just by getting the notification.

 

it is the same with the group finder. if you use it for operations,

the game crashes for 1-3 ppl. seems like ToS is the worst of it.

 

if you are in a pvp map an a players leaves the game, you have a chance,

that you game crashes, too. same if the spot is filled by a new player.

 

but there are also crashes during fights. it seems like i always happens,

if a new phase of a boss fights started, but it hard to notice the exact time,

of it is just random.

 

but as i said, you just want to get back into the game, that your mates don't

need to wait longer than needed and so it is a bit hard. and it totally is random

if it is your crashing day, or of another player. i had many days with no prob at all,

and some days with dozents of crashes.

Since last patch march 9th I have experienced random crashes to desktop, sometimes it hangs a few seconds other times the game just disappears

My guild mate and I experienced another crash today.

 

My guild mate was the first one who was hit by a crash, 20 minutes later I had the same problem.

 

We were just standing on the fleet, doing nothing special.

 

Server: Star Forge (happens on every single server)

No Steam

Did my mission for choosing the combat style, i was in the enclave when i started it. After choosing my 2nd combat style, i got back on the fleet. Walked over to the mailbox, cause there was 1 mail waiting, screen went white and got booted back to desktop.

I had experienced 3-4 crashes since the last patch and I'm using Windows10. It mostly happend when walking/driving around on fleet and waiting for GSF to start.

My guild mate is using Win 10, he crashed four times yesterday.

6/8 players leaving Explosive conflict through groupfinder with "exit phase" so that we end up in front of entrance, all crashed at the same time during loading screen... Its somehow funny when everyone is on discord and it happens at the same time

By far the most common situation for the crashes to occur is PVP for me. I had zero crashes Monday and Tuesday this week then yesterday it crashed 4 times and twice today so far-all in PVP. I'm on Star Forge server. What will happen every time is the game starts to act like it's lagging/stuttering but the ping doesn't change. After maybe 15-20 seconds the game starts freezing for several seconds at a time with almost no 'normal' game play in between the freezing. The game then 'fails to respond' and I have to force a close. If I waited long enough, the game may close on its own but I haven't waited long enough to see if that's the case. I've tried leaving the warzone but it doesn't fix anything; once it starts down this road there's no coming back.

Just had an CTD. Was invited to a group and on my way on my mount to EV Operation on Ziost Shadow. Suddenly the game freezes and then closed to desktop.
