Hi. Let me know if i got this straight , here's what i understand will happen in 7.0 :

1. we will log in and none of our characters will have a working rotation

2. no outfit slots at all, so everyone will be forced to wear the class armor set, no matter how ugly is it - the Batman headpiece of storm gatherer is the very definition of ugly - and some weapons that won't fit with the body size of characters

3. everyone will spam Hammer Station for the new weekly piece of equipment and ofc mercenaries, without the speed boost skill will be the first to die at the bridge, because as always everyone will want to do fp FAST FAST FAST, let's cc everything!

4. everyone will crowd 2-3 locations to do the season quests for a companion no one asked for - a Duros "mercenary" without a background story and a very limited vocabulary - like the Duros NPC from Fleet, our new pal will only say " I VARU PARU HII" and that's all.

5. 20 minutes of new "story" content with "over-attached girlfriend " Beniko pestering us at every 5 minutes and ofc more chasing of Malgus's cybernetic behind all over the Galaxy, because w/e is he doing on Manaan , Elom and other places is somehow Alliance Commander's business ( why? )

Have i missed something?

And since we opened the companion can of worms , why can't we have a Baby Yoda? An Ughnaught? A laughing Czerka droid?

You are wrong in some aspects. We will not loose the ability to pick our outfit, it's just the weapons that got the axe. As new feature will only allow you to put weapons in designers in 7.1.

People will not spam hammer station, because it may not be on rotation and thus will not drop bonus things.

There are also folk who don't touch group content and pvp guys that would rather get strangled by terror from beyond tentacle than enter something else than warzone or arena.

Most of the people will rush to level 80 by completing the story. As it was in 6.0. By then they would have completed the conquest. And thus will avert to playing alts and gearing.

So what exactly will happen on Feb.15 ?

The sun will come up. The sun will go down.

I might find a smile. I might don a frown.

The rain may come, and the rain may go.

The clouds might clear, or it might snow.

Cookies and cream might be in the fridge.

I might play a game, a lot or a smidge.

But whatever I do, whatever I say,

I'll give it my best

to have a wonderful day.

When you log on, you'll have to check your skills and rearrange your skill bars. If you're a subscriber that has finished act 3, you'll be able to pick a second combat style through a mission. Also, if you're a Sith with a LS alignment or a Jedi with a DS alignment, you'll be able to switch to the mirror combat style (unfortunately, on PTS, it also meant that you HAD to choose a 2nd combat style. I doubt that will change).

Outifts are not going away, I'm not sure where you're getting that idea.

Hammer station will probably not be the best way to gear up anymore, you'll get more upgrade parts by doing whatever is up that week.

Everyone crowding the same area for GS2... Yes that's true, unfortunately. Not looking forward to that...

Story content will NOT be 20 minutes. Seriously, who the heck got that idea and keeps spreading lies? The flashpoint alone takes 20 minutes - in vet mode. That mode doesn't show all the story bits that will undeniably been added to it. And we're getting a mission on Manaan too (might be Ziost style, or chapter style, who knows). Either way. I'm expecting to last over an hour (I know, still too short, but come on, it's not just 20 minutes).

I'm totally down for a baby Yoda companion or pet though...

You've missed a lot of things but the most important one was common sense.

The only thing you won't have are weapons, the rest of the outfit designer is the same.

Hammer Station can't be spammed all the time as it depends on the group finder's rotation of flashpoints, which will change. The idea that somehow mercenaries are going to have a harder time finding groups bc "they don't have a speed boost" is also ridiculous.

Plus, have you talked to the entire community to know that no one wanted this companion? I've seen quite a few people excited about it.

20 minutes of the story is an obvious exageration, but the fact is we don't know how long the story will be, most likely at least 2 hours. About the reasoning for finding Malgus, he is dangerous, reckless, and has threatened the galaxy multiple times before, probably doing so again. That reason enough for you?

It seems you actually got most of it wrong, so, yes, you missed a lot.

More like this:

1. Log in and redo the skill tabs on our characters and figure out a new rotation. Maybe pick a second combat style. If we are lucky loadouts will be working correctly now and we can make a few loadouts.

2. Cosmetic tabs continue to work, just no weapon in them yet. Celebrate Remnant gear unlocking in collections by making a new outfit or two.

3. Most people will do the story before they grind gear, so an hour or two there, with the overused Lana as our forced companion in the flashpoint.

4. Hammerstation will almost assuredly not be on group finder at this time, so many people will figure out which of the few offerings that actually are on group finder is the fastest/easiest and spam that instead.

5. The few weekly offerings on the activity finder will be overcrowded and people will get bchy when they have to wait for respawn and clickies.

6. Review the patch on social media, either yea or nay. Get popcorn, it's going to be intersting!

About Lana, my guess is she'll be that 3rd companion, so all that influence you have with her will probably be useless.

I'm absolutely going to get *****y about clicky respawns after having complained probably five times on the forums about them. It's going to suck. Really not looking forward to that at all (and shared tagging is great and all, but not when 20 people try to tag a mob and you still have to wait 5 minutes for respawn).

I'm still not sure who thought this would be a good idea.

Hi. Let me know if i got this straight , here's what i understand will happen in 7.0 :

1. we will log in and none of our characters will have a working rotation

You'll lose some utility, mobility and defensive skills. Core rotations stay exactly the same for every single spec, no rotational abilities are being removed, so calm down.

2. no outfit slots at all, so everyone will be forced to wear the class armor set, no matter how ugly is it - the Batman headpiece of storm gatherer is the very definition of ugly - and some weapons that won't fit with the body size of characters

Outfit slots will stay the same as they are in live. We won't get weapons in there yet (sadly), but you're not losing your current outfits.

3. everyone will spam Hammer Station for the new weekly piece of equipment and ofc mercenaries, without the speed boost skill will be the first to die at the bridge, because as always everyone will want to do fp FAST FAST FAST, let's cc everything!

Probably not as there will be a rotation regarding group finder flashpoints and such.

4. everyone will crowd 2-3 locations to do the season quests for a companion no one asked for - a Duros "mercenary" without a background story and a very limited vocabulary - like the Duros NPC from Fleet, our new pal will only say " I VARU PARU HII" and that's all.

Skip out on the Duros companion if you don't want it I guess.

5. 20 minutes of new "story" content with "over-attached girlfriend " Beniko pestering us at every 5 minutes and ofc more chasing of Malgus's cybernetic behind all over the Galaxy, because w/e is he doing on Manaan , Elom and other places is somehow Alliance Commander's business ( why? )

Definitely not going be just 20 minutes. Also definitely not as long as I'd like, but not 20 minutes.

Have i missed something?

Even your correction won't work like this. The only thing that matters when running flashpoints is the weekly (that you can do 3 times on each character). The gear that drops from flashpoints will never give you a higher rating than your current one so you can't just spam a flashpoint to gear up. You want the weekly crates, those are the only ones that will give you an upgrade. And to complete your flashpoint weeklies, you need to run randoms, you cannot specify which flashpoints you want.

Wait so, what happens to the weapons we already have? What happens with our lower level characters?

Nothing happens to either. They'll be just fine.

There seem to be several undesirable changes coming with 7.0 but some of the stuff in the original post is overblown or downright not true.

Will we be able to queue for other FPs still? I like to do them FPs in order as I go through the story in proper order. :)

There will be a weekly rotation, I think 8 per week and over a month's time all 28 will be covered. Anyways, you can queue random to randomly get 1 of those 8 or select specific ones out of the 8 that you want to do. You won't be able to queue for the ones outside the rotation, but you can walk into the entrance manually with a premade group (and of course won't get group finder rewards).

One thing that will happen, is people upset of the new 'grinds.'

#1. The new gear grind, and the need to get new currencies to get new gear. Gear that isn't moddable.

**What I'll be doing is (since I don't do operations) having my armor sets, my relics, my weapons be Conquest gear, with my earpiece be flashpoint gear. My reasoning (and direct observations being on the PTS) is I'll be getting different currencies with the Seasons objectives, and may as well spend the one type I do the least on one piece of gear.

#2. The grind for tech fragments to get the set bonus implants. You will need 10k tech fragments for each implant. Which means you should be at max frags to get them. Even if you save up for 10k now, which is almost cap, you will only get 1. And then...grind more. Then more to upgrade.

#3. The new Underworld Syndicate plans, and the rep for the new Syndicate faction rep. Ties in with the new Galactic Seasons.

**You will really WANT to get 100 of these plans before turning in. This is because 100 at a time will grand you FIVE purple rep tokens. Anything lower is not the best ratio for rep XP.

**If you have a Reputation Bonus stim from the log in crates, you will get 15 charges. If you use 5 charges, with the aforementioned 5 purple rep tokens from the 100 plans, you will max out rep for the week. (ADDED NOTE: Use the Reputation charge bonus on a little used character, as it has a 24 hour timer, which if you just log in and out with that one character, you can get 3 weeks of usage out of it. Again, did this on the PTS)

**Rep for this faction has a much smaller weekly cap of around 7000. I forgot what exactly it was. This means it will take one WAY longer to get Legend Level. I played on the PTS for 5 or 6 weeks (I cant remember, and barely made it over Hero.

**You will WANT to look at the Galactic Seasons objectives to find out which will grant you the most plans. Yes, they will be group work, such as PVP, Flashpoints, and Operations, depending on the week.

**When PTS went down, there was no vendor or anything else that you could use to spend your extra plans on.

**Also, no new content or conversations with the representative at the levels I made, so most people will be asking..."What is the point of this rep, other than something else to grind?"

**In short...grind to get plans...to turn in...to grind a faction rep. For?

**Also afte rthe first 100 plans, keep trying to earn them though normal play, and save them for the following week.

Also people will voice displeasure over loss of abilities, the feeling they are weaker at level 80. This is true, you will lose your set bonuses (Such as the Taskmaster set doing nothing, so your companions will be weaker doing solo content). Everyone will be surprised they will actually have to slow down, use more defensive cooldowns and stuns, to do content.

I did try the new flashpoint (on solo/story) as a Merc Healer, level 50 companion...and didn't make it past the 2nd boss. I hope this will be fixed. My equipment was 321, and my two guns were maxed 326 (I think?). No augments or anything though.

And everyone will have the same armor. No armor dye slots on it though.

So, everyone...play hard this week, store up on tech frags, you will need them. So, the RPM/OEM items will be a little more rarer now, meaning they will cost more...

And since we opened the companion can of worms , why can't we have a Baby Yoda? An Ughnaught? A laughing Czerka droid?

1 ) Some might work better than others, but we will need to look at our characters and set things up according to the "new normal".

2 ) Outfit designer will be there. They had to remove weapons for now, but that should be added in soon. Since weapons aren't in the outfitter as it is, we shouldn't see any change here other than in the UI itself.

3 ) There will be a rotation of flashpoints and operations and such that should determine which ones are most popular. At least that is the idea. Do the "right" flashpoints/operations to get the bigger/better/special rewards. Sometimes it might be Hammer Station, sometimes it will be something else.

4) Everyone will always crowd wherever to get whatever. This is certainly nothing new. Able to win a Gammorrean in the casinos on Nar Shaddaa? Hey look! The casinos are crowded.

You, of course, are free to join or not join the crowd as you see fit.

5 ) I didn't get into the new story content when I was on test, so I don't know how much new story there is.

I do know that I have never chosen to romance Lana so she is certainly not over-attached to any of my characters.

I have plenty of issues with the game's story beginning with the "Knights" expansion, but I'm not going to suddenly act like something is or isn't alliance business since I have been questioning the whole thing all along.

And while I don't see Baby Yodas happening, if you want an Ugnaut companion you can get an Ugnaut companion. If you don't have one, that is on you.

But at this point you are just complaining not that they are adding a companion, but that they are not running their "companions to be added list" by you for approval before they put them in the game.

Ooooh the new SoV! I hope they tuned it down though... even if we'll have an extra companion with us on live.

I'm still not sure who thought this would be a good idea.

For *mobs*, it's a less awful idea than exclusive tagging with a five-minute respawn, which was an improvement over what we had way back, which was *stealable* tagging - a highbie who could sufficiently out-pace a lowbie on a silver or more likely a gold would transfer the tagged state to himself...

But none of that solves clickable objectives.
