Thank you for the Slot Machine, devs

Yeah I agree. Its nice to use and waste some time whilst waiting for a Q pop. All I appear to be winning right now are just Rep tokens at a rate of knots!

Hopefully, it will be a change to win some random loot and prizes later down the line such as a Pink Rancor armed with 2 light sabers!

I must add my voice to those supporting this. I gather crafting mats as much or more than the next player and usually do so for myself, especially when it comes to the rare mats. Those I don't use for gearing up my characters and comps, I give away to my guild mates. If you were previously making a ton of credits on these mats, then find something else to sell. There are lots of opportunities out there to make credits in game.

As someone who has played for 3 years and the ONLY time he has ever won anything was via these slot machines, I am EXTREMELY thankful for them. I was able to win the rancor within 100k (when the casino was live).

When the CM launched, I got caught up with the gambling bug and spent $140 USD on cartel coins to get packs to hopefully win a throne and a white crystal. Not to mention the millions upon millions of credits i've spent on packs to try to get a cathar sword or a walker. I never won anything, that's how great my luck is.

250k with these machines and I was able to get the rep to become legend, and get the certs to get a throne and a meditation chair. To say I am thankful is an understatement.

drop rate on jawa junk should be reduced but I love the idea of being able to earn reputation for old packs in this way. I hope there are more slot machines that allow us to get rep for old reputations.

Drop rate for Jawa Junk needs to be increased. Not being dependent on others or those crazy slow missions is refreshing.

Indeed, thank you.

With these in place, I never ever have to run a crafting mission again.

All those characters I have that I used to run missions with to get mats, do the "travel dance" because your RNG in the mission list is the worst implementation ever, all the waiting for missions to MAYBE return materials I need, even paying even a single solitary credit for raw materials for crafting... those are all things of the past. I can't tell you how frustrating that stupid travel dance was. From the very bottom of my cold, black, greed-infested, dead heart, thank you, sincerely, for ensuring I never have to do that again.

Thank you for removing the necessity of managing and storing many dozens of different raw materials. I never have to check again if I have enough Doonium for my next round of crafting. Now I can just keep stacks of scrap and my producers can grab one whenever they need a specific raw material. Thank you for freeing up so many cargo hold and legacy storage slots that no longer have to hold materials so I can pack-rat for another two years without worry of running out of space.

Thank you for removing any compulsion to optimize companions for crafting by picking classes for their +Crit potential and leveling affection to 10k. Now I can just play whatever I want, whenever I want, just to play it, and it will have not one whit of affect on my ability to craft. No more buying or, worse, incessantly clicking, affection bribes. No more trying to avoid hurting a pet's feelings in a conversation. It's quite... liberating. Thank you for that. I mean it.

Thank you for increasing my profit margins to approximately 95%. The only reason they're below 100% is that the GTN is going to take 6% as a fee. So why isn't it 94%? Thank you for making the slot machine drop rate of rep items plus CM certificates high enough that they actually pay me to get the resources I need to craft.

But most importantly, thank you for finally firmly embedding the Cartel Market into actual gameplay (you know, non-cosmetic stuff?) in a manner in which the vast majority of players support vocally, bordering on violently. I'm very much looking forward to further expansions of this theme. I will enjoy the day that PvP players learn they have the totally optional option of buying a 300CC token to get a 5% boost to stats in war zones for the week. I'm equally looking forward to the day that raiders get to purchase a totally optional 300CC token to get to that optional boss in the op... you know, the one that drops the best loot?

Yeah, that's gonna be fricken awesome!

Surely you can be more hyperbolic and sarcastic than this.

And if stuff like that actually does come to pass, so what?

Indeed. So what?

It won't have any bearing on me. I don't PvP so that's zero impact. I do raid, but I have a lot of CC's saved up from sub + security key + quite a lot of people have actually clicked my referral link (go figure!). I could do that optional boss for a whole lot of weeks without ever spending a dime.

But the firestorm those things would cause on the forums would be quite entertaining for both of us, don't you think?

+1 - Signed...

I'm a crafter and I'm totally fine with this recent addition/option. I think the drop ratio is just fine. People are going to use any of the Jawa stuff that drops to make things that are needed. Consumable products specifically like Adrenals, Stims and Medpac's all can use those mixed set of materials.

IF any change is made to the purple I'd like to suggest the GREEN takes it's percentage instead. The rest of the drop ratio's are just fine.

I would say thank you as well, though I would not agree with the OP characterizing folks that oppose the machine as "whiners".

Stubborn, resistant to change...perhaps a penchant for drama. But not whiners IMO.

Now, please.....fix crew missions.

Well, much as we disagree on some things, one thing we do agree on is that there is no need to spend real $ (beyond the monthly sub) to become a virTORal Sultan of Bahrain . Like you, I have never spent a dime on CC (beyond the ones that come with the sub) and never will.

And as for "P2W" changes, if they actually arrive and make me not enjoy the game, I'll quit. Otherwise, I won't.

Your bitterness is unserving THC!

It is a good point to make, a point I agree with and many as well I believe. But we both know a good argument is worthless without the envelop it is delivered in.

I dunno... I'm learning to embrace this change.

Plus I've already shown you that you can save not only time but also money with the slots. BioWare should leave crew missions just exactly as they are, but only because it would require effort to remove them from the game.

Kinda like the whole space-on-rails thing. Does anyone even play that any more now that GSF is live?

Yeah, we agree. Exactly the same viewpoint on what you wrote. The thing of it is, I don't want the game to go P2W so I quit. I want to keep playing it.

I'm giving BioWare enough credit to be able to understand the message even though the envelope might be a bit... disheveled. They're the only important audience.

The forumers who get bent over the envelope? Oh well. I'll be right here poking them (figuratively) when the CM encroaches into PvP and PvE.

I love it, a great way to get Jawa Junk for crafting. Funny how a good post get 3 replies and the 413 whiner posts get 17,889 replies.

"t's nice to get good things and keep it for once."

Yeah definitely. This borderline illiterate sentiment absolutely deserves more attention.

I want good thing, give now easy please, no take!

As I said before...please dont change anything with this, or remove G11 matts from the jawa's.

If you lower the drop rate on the purple junk, people will just raise prices on the GTN, the profit will remain.

Removing G11 from Jawas is bad. G11 on Jawas at least slightly increases the desirability of the CM gambling packs and maybe even reasonably increases the reward from finishing top 10 in conquest.

Most of what I wrote above is true. This change really makes my life as a crafter so frickin' easy. It's a huge boon.

My sole complaint is that last paragraph. It does firmly embed CM in the "not at all cosmetic" part of gameplay. In the past when BioWare stepped over that line, these very forums shouted them down so swiftly and decisively that they had no choice but to retreat.

Now, these forums are encouraging them, loving it.

Makes me nervous for the future of the game I love to play, but won't play if it goes P2W.

I am excited over what could be made of this item. Let it be on par with crafting missions. It could be a social hub for players that would, you know, make the game a MMO. Hear me out, you turn your stronghold into a gambling den and sell keys to it. Players spend time with each other as they wait for missions to pop. Different paths to the same goal are good, not bad. Heck add a bar tender with a drink that has a low chance of making you more lucky for a large amount of credit and you have another money sink. This would have the benefit of making strongholds come alive for those who love that type of play. Never have just one path, more the better.
