  1. Is this your attempt to revitalize the game? To get more people to do more of content they don't usually do? If that's the goal then I apologize for the following word, but that's idiotic. More Operations (add one more difficulty tier that is HM without the veteran edge), better PvP rewards/modes/maps. That will get people to do more stuff, not enforced gearing requirements.
  2. Why? Just why? Why would you do this to the player base? Yes of course you can buy it, but that's now how people are going to see it, they'll see it as being forced to play PvP or NiM PvE... This is beyond ridiculous, the market for solid matrix and embers is already tough, and now you want us to "farm" more materials??? Please reconsider this.
  3. The general preference is for a melee DPS that isn't a PT, however, any ranged class is welcomed. The team raids from 7 to 9 PM PDT on Wed and Thursday. If interested and have questions, please respond here or send me a PM. Guild: Inconsistent
  4. Since never, but if you go on /general in Nar Shadaa, people are openly talking about using one for this event. People really don't like just how much time it is taking them to use their Kingpin tokens.
  5. I don't want to go into an argument on whether the rewards are worth it, that can be done elsewhere. The major problem is having too many chips and not enough time to use them, which stems from two design decisions: It takes 3 seconds for each spin. There is a none negligible probability to get refunded the chip when you spin. I propose to remove the probability to get refunded and bake its chance back into the rewards. What do I mean by this? Imagine that there are three outcomes for a spin: 50% refund, 30% lose, 20% win. In reality, the chance to win something from a single chip is more akin to chance to win from the first spin, then a chance to win from getting a second spin by getting a refund first, then chance to win after getting two refunds in a row, etc. So the chance to win in reality is: 20% + 50%*20% + 50%*50%*20% + ...., which is effectively 40%, and chance to lose is 60%. This change will not affect the drop rates so whatever balance is in mind remains as it is. Second, reduce the CD on the spin to 2 or 1.5 seconds. I believe those two changes will vastly improve the event and would be a great QoL.
  6. No fixes for the Nar Shaddaa Nightlife??
  7. All abilities and utilities take at most 3 quick bars, between quick travel abilities and mounts I don't see how you could use all 6. I mean if you put every single mount and pet, sure, but that seems excessive. Please don't get me wrong, I am not saying we shouldn't get the 7th bar, I am just having a hard time figuring out a situation where it is desperately needed.
  8. I am inclining to agree on the Kolto Shot HoT, the value seems too low to matter, CF seems like it is still BiS. I am not sure in regards to tacticals, SC-4 seems like a good replacement of Rocket Fuel vapors due to the extra generation of Supercharge. But I can also see the usage of Running Restoration, being super important in movement heavy fights.
  9. Or it is not intended to be removable, which is why it is not there.
  10. What are you talking about, can you please elaborate?
  11. I left the game for 3 years, completely forgot about Quinn. So I came back and was doing the Iokath questline and I see Quinn is back, the first thing I did was stab him with my lightsaber, then I pressed escape and replayed the scene so I can stab him again. Don't get me wrong, I hate him as a character but not as in I wish he wasn't written.
  12. Besides the fleet and Ossus vendors, are there others that take Tech Fragments? I kinda have all of the set bonuses that I need.
  13. Well if the unlocks are permanent, that changes things a bit. At least now I have a reason to do it, still not sure if worth it though. Thank you very much (everyone) for your answer.
  14. Because I've done the event long time ago, and I have 100% achievements. They seem to be character specific unlocks, and unless they changed it doesn't the unlocks reset after the event is gone?
  15. By 100%, I mean legend reputation and all the achievements. I am trying to think this one through, and as far as I can see unlocking those contracts seems like a waste of event currency, am I missing something?
  16. A lot of comments on gear here, and frankly I find the "low gear" arguments originally rooted in strats that favors brute-forcing a fight over correctly managing the mechanics. I have not seen a single FP so far that really do require gear rating beyond the numbers being quoted here. The problem is frankly many are not good players and that is compounded with low gear, but having better gear won't solve the underlying problem of: Barely knowing your spec (all roles). Stepping out of the fire on the floor (all roles). No cleansing or spending too much DPS'ing (Healers). Easing off ads that are hitting the healers (Tanks and DPS). Wasting taunts on the pull or double taunting the boss (Tanks). Ignoring kill order (DPS).

  18. Let's for the sake of argument assume that the crit rate is 15%, meaning you fail to get a mission 85% of the time. If you run the same mission 25 times and get nothing, the likelihood of that happening is 0.85^25, which is about 1.7%, meaning for every 1000 players who run 25 missions about we'd expect 17 of them will experience failure like that (the game have more than 1000 players IIRC). That event is rare, but that's the point, a lot of people tried this, and some got unlucky. Now add confirmation bias to this and the puzzle can begin to be recognized. No, it is not, we are inherently bad at this for more than one reason. Same reason why untrained people have a hard time understanding the three-door problem for example. Even if we take OP at their word (people exaggerate or may forget some details), then at the best that's anecdotal evidence that still fits the idea that this is normal of a random process that repeated a large number of times. This may not be 100% the topic but to back up a bit what I am saying: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/why-our-brains-do-not-intuitively-grasp-probabilities/ https://www.fastcompany.com/3061263/people-are-really-bad-at-probability-and-this-study-shows-how-easy-it-is-to-trick-us https://www.wired.com/2011/06/brain-risk-probability/ https://towardsdatascience.com/humans-are-bad-at-probability-834980e719a3
  19. That doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it. Given a very large sample, there are going to be examples that fall far enough from the mean. That means not getting any mission for a significant number of tries, or getting them for every try. One last point, while I am not doubting your ability or anyone's ability to get a feel for how things work, the matter of fact that humans do not have a natural intuition for matters of statistics, there is no getting a feel of things when it comes to the matter of randomly occurring events. You may use science to help you make decisions, and infer about the state of this random occurring events, but that's where it ends. For reference, I make my living out of statistics (data science), and I don't trust my own intuition about matters like these at all, I only rely on the analysis of the data.
  20. and Honestly, my experience with CS has always been great, but I've been gone from the game for 3 years so I am not sure what is going on right now, and whether it is a fluke. I've been having an issue with some legacy currency and frankly, I am dreading the fact that I may have to put in a ticket and getting the same agent again. I may go ahead with it, but I think I may request a different agent if it ends up being the same one.
  21. DR is bad enough at those levels that if you do not in fact have the exact variation of the adept enhancements then you are not losing any amount of DPS that matters. If you are using the base Adept version, with augments. That should be enough, if you have the tech fragments to waste, you can try to get the specific variants that get you to 3200. I am running 3017 and 1617 respectively for crit and alacrity and managing to get near 23K on the dummy. So don't worry too much, just get a hang of your rotation that will net you more DPS than the remaining 200 or 400 points.
  22. Really interesting! I have never faced that issue, IIRC I have never been asked to respec to DPS on either my tank or healer. Sorry that you experienced this, hopefully, you will keep running into better people in the future.
  23. My bias is going to show up quickly, so I'll lay it out there: 2.X Annihilation is probably the best version of the spec. I was thinking about this last night and my initial thought that one way to start fixing the mess was maybe to have Annihilation replace rupture completely, but I am not sure that may help in any way. I am personally leaning toward the idea is that there are "too many" abilities to use in the spec and the cooldowns are not meshing together. I don't necessarily think that a 4 GCDs Annihilate is the only solution (but I'd love it). But there should be some consistency with the rotation via the CDs. Annihilate should share CD with one of the other main damage abilities, especially Force Rend. For example: Annihilate | Filler | Force Rend | Filler | Filler | Filler Annihilate | Filler | Force Rend | Filler | Filler | Filler That's 8 filler abilities, (2X)Ravage, DST, and Battering assault leaves us with 4 actual filler spots. Rupture might take one or two spots here (depending on reset), leaving us with 2 or 3 spots for actual fillers. Under 30% that would be 1 or 2 actual fillers since Vicious throw can be used consistently. Deadly saber would just float around since it is off the GCD. The rage generation needs to be tight, but I'd think that would work.
