Stronghold Decoration Suggestions

Hello Everybody,

 

With Strongholds being released soon, the Cartel Market team is looking for suggestions of decorations that players would like to see in their Stronghold.

 

Suggestions can be general types of decoration like posters, chairs, lamps, giant missiles, etc.

 

Suggestions can be specific in game objects. An example would be, "I would really like the blood pool from the Blood Legacy quest on Korriban." (The more detail you can provide, the easier it will be for the team to track down the item)

 

Suggestions can also be objects not currently in SWTOR. An example would be, "I would like to put a Star Forge on my Stronghold's front lawn."

 

We are looking for any and all suggestions so please don't hold back.

I'd would suggest decorations where walls, floors, objects have been damaged by blaster fire, the Force (Hope Trailer), fires, and debris. Crashed starship too would be cool.

 

My other suggestion is to allow us to place our starfighters in our strongholds/flagships. NOT the model versions you have up in the Kuat Mission level, but the 1:1 scale we pilot in Galactic Starfighter. That and allow the "smaller" starfighters, like the Scout or Flashfire, to be placed in the large square. (Referring to the garage on Dromund Kas and Coruscant. I would at least like to see my Flashfire-- that's my favorite ship of the starfighter pool.

 

NO MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS! Already paid for a few with Cartel Coins or Fleet Requisition, and they are already UNLOCKED to begin with.

Or BioWare can just give us the planet Mandalore as the expansion this year, so that we can build a stronghold there. (Don't think BioWare has released anything on the "Makeb-like" expansion, but rumors are that maybe it's Manaan. If--BIG IF-- it was Mandalore or Kashyyk(sp), I can guarantee you that they'd get double the number of subscribers, JUST so that they'd get early access..

The Mando/Mythosaur skull wall flag is a must. I'm really surprised I haven't seen anything on the livestream for it yet. It should be a Cartel item though, as it's popular and iconic enough to make a good treat for people with money, but not something that'd be desirable in every single stronghold.

Since I couldn't find those on the PTS:

 

- Kitchenettes of various sizes, luxury levels and cultural flavors (Empire, Republic, Civilian, Underworld, Tatooine, Voss etc.)

- Furniture for a bathroom (bathtube, shower, refresher etc.). Again in various luxury levels and cultural flavors.

I don't know if this idea was mentioned before, but how about putting usable slot machines in strongholds.

BUT

 

How about making them so that the owner of the stronghold can donate BOE items, or cash as prizes?

 

How it could work:

Depending on how expensive the prize is, the owner can set up minimum bets. For instance; lets say the owner buys a slot machine. This slot machine has a prize bank (low, medium and grand prize). The owner chooses what to donate and sets a minimum bet price (credits). It's on the owner to keep their slots full of prizes. If any prize is depleted, then the machine will not work. This eliminates the possibility of false advertisement and a greedy owner making money off of an empty prize bank. For the sake of this example, they put in a purple grade crafting material as the low prize, a 5,000 credit prize as the medium and a Rancor as the grand prize. Free spins would also be available. Each prize level will have set RNG odds of winning to make it easier for the owner to select the prizes and cost per spin.

 

These decorations could be sold as a single slot machine, a bank of 4 together, or have it as an arrangement like the center kingpin area and have the grand prize the owner selected rotating on display like the Vectrons do in the Festival of Splendor Event.

 

Long story short, the owner can make money off of something and it gives the people visiting your stronghold something to do (and maybe win)

More ideas:

 

Partition pieces. Privacy screen, shoji screen, dressing screen, room divider, etc. Something you can use to break up some of the large rooms to create smaller, more specialized spaces like a work desk in your garage, or small sleeping areas. FFXIV has these and they are really versatile!

 

Baths. Hot tub, jacuzzi, whatever. I get that there are no bathrooms in this universe, and I see why things like toilets are unappealing, but other more luxurious "grooming" items such as fancy baths would be nice.

 

Nonfunctional doors (wall items). So we can pretend that our characters don't live in houses that lack closets, bathrooms and kitchens. xD

 

More bed colors. The "luxury bed" looks great, but I'm not a fan of orange. How about a nice bed in purple or blue?

 

But what I want most is Companions that do not appear as holos on other characters! Just stick an unlock in the CM or something: "Allows placed Companions of all classes to be fully present regardless of what class you are logged in on".

I was thinking perhaps a special holoterminal that when interacted with allows you to have vague non story binding conversations with the companions of the other classes from the same faction with unspecified light or dark alignments. It could add a whole new level of role play Like an inquisitor contacting an imperial agent or bounty hunter but getting their companion on the line instead where you can gossip or accept lite missions from the other classes. does that make sense?

Please, please, please let me place sand person npcs for my Tatooine stronghold. Don't just stop at males either! It would be so cool if we could get sand people children and women npcs. That's another thing, there aren't any children in the game and the strongholds might be a cool place to have them. I also would love a lot of the tribal stuff like gaffi sticks, huts, bedrolls

 

How about regular human and alien children poking at them?

There are some statues on Alderaan I believe, looks sort of like a jedi with Leia hair kneeling with a light-saber raised. This are really cool. I like the Emperor Statues and Revan Statue, can we get more. Malgus, Jadus, and Baras would be good additions. They're quite iconic. Some statues of dead Sith Lords could work too. Tulak Hord? Karness Murr (does he even count as dead with the Talisman?) Etc. I know the Jedi are supposed to be humble, but they have statues on Voss aplenty too, so those could work. And just to keep the statues from being monopolized by force users: Odile Vaiken (for the IA), Nok Drayen (For Smugglers), Mandalore the Ultimate (For BH), and Supreme Chancellor Janarus (for the Trooper).

Can we get standalone versions of the canopies? Without the rugs? Currently both Blue Market Canopy and Red Market Canopy only come with rugs attatched, seems rather silly considering most will be putting these on an open space (balconies, Tatooine etc). The current trophies are meh, maybe a giant concept art poster, animated poster or statue for nightmare achievments?

A placable XRR-3 guard droid and a large statue of Soa.

I would love, and this is a far off idea, to be able to have holo-signs in Aurabesh that I can customize what it says. That way, even if you're worried about someone typing in something vulgar, only a really hardcore nerd could figure out the meaning, like me. I'd get a kick out of making a sign that says 'HANGAR HERE' or something.

 

I also want a refresher (toilet), sink, some sort of kitchen or cooking set, maybe some gaffi sticks to hang on the wall, and maybe a mirror could also be pretty cool to hang up, even if there is no reflection.

I want a black concert piano. If you click on it, a random melody plays, and it shows your character sitting and playing. That'd be awesome.

this may be slightly off topic... But... I was tooling around Alderaan when I stumbled across house Alde... And the thought occurred to me... Please make a level 55 equivalently expensive (expensive enough to chew up a few credits) stronghold, on Alderaan... To be more specific, make a stronghold where instead of just unlocking rooms, you unlock large segments of courtyard similar in layout and structure to the house palace on Alderaan... It would be a massive structure with a ton of hooks and would take forever to acquire a high prestige rating on, it would be perfect for end gamers who want lots and lots of areas to decorate... Plus... Since they are already designed as fortresses, calling it a legacy Stronghold fits within canon... And I would like to once again request mannequins, or stands for armor... Because in the tombs on Korriban I saw those armor stands that are just thin pipes holding up the ancient sith armor pieces... Would adding customizable versions of those be so difficult... ? Love you bio ware...

I would love to be able to have a wide selection of paintings to choose from, like you could in SWG. The achievement tiles are nice, but they are just in game screenshots and aren't that fancy looking. Stylized artistic paintings would be very cool.

I want some neutral guards to place in my strongholds. Especially some droids*, so that my more neutral/independant characters can secure their house too without Republic/Imperial Guardsmen.

 

* Mercenaries, thugs, etc would all be great too.

I'd love to see some neutral guards too! Also, some specific suggestions:

 

- "Bouncer" like NPC's, like the ones you see at the entrance of some of the larger cantinas. For example, the one outside of Club Ulfora in the Red Light Sector on Nar Shaddaa, or the Gamorreans found in Club Vertica.

 

- NPC's cleaning. For example: Ralos-Vok on Nar Shaddaa, who is sweeping, or the Enslaved Miners in the Rust Yards area of Hutta, who are scrubbing the floor.

 

- NPC's found in the Court of the Club Vertica Casino: the Nautolan dancing on the edge of the fountain, and the Wookie standing nearby with his arms crossed (would make a great guard).

 

- The fountain from the Court of the Club Vertica Casino. With or without the giant statue thingy in the middle.

 

- Conference table type arrangement. Something like the tables set up in the Concourse Staging Point, Old Galactic Market, Coruscant.

 

- Large seating area arrangement, like the one in the Old Galactic Market Taxi Station (near the windows), Coruscant.

1) Datacron library akin to the ones in the Jedi Temple on Tython and Sith Academy on Korriban for Empire/Republic characters respectively.

 

2) Armory where you can put armor and weapons on display.

 

3) Trophy room where you can add trophies for diplay.

 

4) A dark side/light side shrine with appropriate imagery, akin to what you can see at light side/dark side vendors on the fleet.

I'd really adore a few more Starship Hook Decorations from the CM, I know we have the dark project things and the CM Sandcrawler, but that doesn't seem like a whole lot of variation. I can think of a few things, the Ebon Hawk, the last Resort, something like a solar sailer, a ginormous statue or two, but really this would be such a cool chance for them to surprise us with what they'd make. I imagine they must have some really cool big things in mind stored up for a rainy day.

There are two different huge backlit imperial wall decorations. One with an industrial flavour just above the exit elevator, a more classic one on different wall same room.

I would like those giant turrets from the Alderaan Warzone. I know you have a different turret for the Explosive Conflict Ops, but I would like another turret variant.

 

Most likely costing Warzone commendations, most likely.
