You made the decision to continue throwing money at a high-risk enterprise? I sense you don't want to take responsibility for your choices. Well, I could say something snarky about snowflakes and entitlement, but I'm sure someone else will do that. One more thing, the answer to your question may come from any of the number of other threads which have already been commenced on this subject. Blowing up a machine has a smaller chance of happening than winning a Rancor... but I blew up three machines. 600k invested, and I have 3 rifles, 1 assault cannon, 2 pistols, 2 magnus, 1 opus, 1 saber, 1 sniper, 1 dualsaber... I think this is not that bad overall. Not sure if I want to spend more credits though. I really don't want a rancor and get even more lag. But I want the achievement to be fully green. This means that I would need to win a rancor and destroy one slot machine. I probably wouldn't even mind wasting 10 million credits on this. But the time I would waste, the boredom I would experience, the agony I would feel... no, I think I'm gonna pass. And this is the horror story for me: achievement unfinished. Could be an expensive hobby though... what I would do is save up money for the rancor on the gtn, because there is not guarantee at all no matter how much money you put in there that you will win a Rancor, some people can get lucky, but there is a reason that when one guy wins a rancor 15 other guys in chat shout "I hate you I already spent 4 mill on this!!!" I admit i was a lucky one, spending less than 200k and getting 3 GC's. After that, i left that thing and i dont plan to return ever again. It's a money drinker. I won a Vectron Magnus with my first batch of kingpin chips, and got 30 certificates, by spending about 600k total on smugglers chips using two different characters. Then I logged on to a third character to use the free chips from the starting quest, and my luck ran out. I spent all his money on smugglers and did win some kingpin chips, but no golden certs or anything else from playing them with the "feeling lucky" buff. And I think I got "feeling lucky" a grand total of two times. I didn't do anything different, so just really bad luck. Duskrequim Posted June 16, 2014 Share Posted June 16, 2014 I have noticed that getting Kingpin chips is pretty random... you have to win... but you do not need a jackpot with the smuggler machines. However the smuggler machine however does not always grant a jackpot... you can hit jackpot line up perfectly multiple times and not win a single gold certificate. Seen same thing with the kingpins... the jackpot is not always 100%.. I have hit it multiple times and got nothing but the chip back.. so I think that while I can get my kingpin chips easy... getting the actual jackpot is random... Me, I bought 50k worth of smuggler coins and played until they were gone. For my 50k I got maybe 15 minutes of boredom, a mount, and 2 gold certs that I will probably turn into a legacy bound weapon so I can move hilts to reverse-engineer. But that's far better than what I expected, which was 15 minutes of boredom with absolutely no return. Because it was gambling. And that's what you should expect when you gamble.
