But having the prospect of dwelling on Nar Shaddaa? That's like getting personal housing in Bree instead of having to hoof it out to some corner of the map to zone into your instanced, look-a-like neighborhood.
Oh, I agree totally. My ennui about SWTOR housing is by no means a criticism. It looks like they're doing a great job with it ... making all the right choices. It's simply what I said: I'm "housed-out." I can't get excited about the prospect of owning/decorating/whatever ... again. Of course, I have 450 in all Crew Skills and will almost certainly hunt down any/all decoration recipes I can find. It's possible that cranking out a few chairs I can't sit in will get the old house-owner juices flowing.

Good catch Ninjonxb,

Subscriber Early Access to Galactic Strongholds is coming as a part of 2.8. As you can see the decision has been made to move the 2.8 date out two weeks from its original target. We wanted some more time to work on that sweet, sweet player stronghold content.

Eric,

First from my guild members: Thank you!

Now a question (they always have one lol)

Can you share housing with your friends or your boyfriend/girlfriend?

Second (they don't know when to stop lol)

Is companions an option to be in the housing? In other words do we have a choice whether we want them in the housing or not. Some of my guild members really would like them not to be in there.

And again thank you.

Complicated question. Will it have terminal for all kind of activities, like PvP, FPs, ops, everything under the sun. All my toons live on the main fleet not because its fun, but because it has everything I need. For these to be more than something I visit once and never again they need to have:

- PvP and GSF terminal. I know you can pick up PvP missions from WZs in 2.7 (hopefully arenas as well and implement the vendor in arenas too), but you need to be able to turn them in without having to que for another WZ.

- Same scenario for FPs, you should be able to pick them up and turn them in.

- Same scenario for operations.

- The quick travel console that take you to end game dailies/planets MUST be there. I can't stress this enough.

If it does not substitute the fleet function, it will be no more than fancy visuals to play with for a couple of days, then go back to settle in the fleet, and probably never visit them again, unless you are heavy into RP.

Kira and Jaesa together...giggity

I had that same thought lol

Glad to see its finally happening after all the effort ppl have put into asking for this feature. It's nice to know the devs do listen.

While you're listening....a lot of us would REALLY like joystick/controller support for GSF :D

The companions are in a stronghold in the video , so yes.

In the original teaser video , there was a terminal , which looked like a mission terminal , so maybe so.

So... you're moving on up? Moving on up? To a deluxe apartment in the sky?:)

Time for a bit of a song innit , courtesy of Primal Scream!

Cheers,

Really excited about this. My big question is around the trophies from Ops and FPS.

Will any of these be retroactive?

If not will multiple trophies drop per kill (similar to Helices dropping off Xeno)? I would hate to have to grind KP over and over again vs a single time to get trophies when I'd rather be working on NiM DF.

Would love it if we would be able to have some carbonized people on display. That would solidify my new living spaces for my Bounty Hunter!

Also will we get a 1 time quest on the fleet to guide us to our new place?

Weirdly me and a friend had a conversation about this two nights ago when on Nar Shadda , I was looking at the balconies and thought maybe we could live there. Then my friend said that BadOrb , would have a carbonized floor , so full of people under feet. Ha ha.

Cheers,

BadOrb.

Things I picked up on from the trailer:

1) Multiple trophies that look to come from at least EV and KP. A huge skull, too, but not sure what that could be coming from. Rakata statues and a few Mind Traps.

2) The cheering folk don't look like Trooper companions in that scene, so guildies? A sign that people can come visit your Stronghold.

3) Second scene, bedroom, shows a ship's cargo bay?...weird placement...and an appearance kiosk.

4) Third room shows some sort of 'operations room', with another storage bank, what looks like a work station and a holo terminal.

5) Fourth room has some holo-sculpture in the middle, with what looks like a lot of guildies standing and sitting around, paintings, statues, Republic banners.

6) Nar Shadda room, casino style room, with a bar and a holo-band. Companions standing around, bartender and guard NPCs? A juke box?

Do you think it will be tied into fleet chat or have it's own chat?

I pick up a lot of PUG runs from fleet. I would hate to spend money on a house, decorate it up and never actually spend time there cause I need to stay on fleet to grab some pick up runs.

Yeah, that would be a great feature: a fleet chat channel for your home. Basically, it would refocus congregation points to planets instead of the fleet. Not a bad thing IMO. However, you still have the fleet as an option while you level etc. etc.

At this time we aren't talking about any additional planets aside from what we have announced, which is Coruscant, Dromund Kaas, and Nar Shaddaa.

Kind of sad, as I really would like to set up my home on Hoth. :(

Hey folks,

Just to answer two questions I have seen in the thread...

Why the value difference between the pre-order Nar Shaddaa Sky Palace bonus and the early access cost of the Nar Shaddaa Sky Palace?

It is actually fairly simple. The base cost of the Nar Shaddaa Sky Palace is 250k Credits. The cost of the three additional rooms is what makes up the remaining 1.25 million that is a part of the pre-order bonus.

If I already killed a boss that has a Stronghold reward (such as Karagga) will I need to kill him again to get the reward?

Although this is a great question we are not quite ready to talk details on the various methods of item unlocks, etc. We will have a blog in the future that outlines more about how the system works and how it will affect previously cleared content.

Sooooooo excited for this! Can't wait 'til more details start popping. Hoping for ease of customization similar to that of my old City of Heroes base. Being able to craft stuff for the Stronghold sounds real nice, too. Wonder what kind of special materials it'll require. I may have to actually start running Ops for the first time ever in order to get what I need to make my new online home look just right.

Well done, BioWare. Well done. :ph_thank_you:

Excellent! Thanks for the answers.

What about the question of whether or not strongholds will be shared with all characters in your legacy, or if they will have to be character specific? Is that something you can share yet?
