sorry but I call BS.

4 arena which anybody who knows the software can throw together in one afternoon, where we can deathmatch and a new tier of armour - that's it??

the pve fraction got more in this patch than we pvp players.

I thought this was supposed to be our patch??

I don't get it.

One afternoon?...

I'd love to see you try to add such a thing in such a complex software as a complete MMORPG game.

The new contents is a lot of stuff.

...

But that's as much credit as I can give Bioware. That the patch contained actual content.

How it was implemented thought is a complete different story. They force players to do arenas when we want to do warzones. They remove PvP content because that same PvP content was a complete failure because of how they try to give us stuff that doesn't fit.

Without cross-server queues, ranked warzones were a complete fail. Without solo queuing ranked warzones, it's even worst.

Ilum was a complete failboat because of how servers can't handle a big load of players.

As much as ilum, ranked warzones and arenas are all a great concept, the game itself doesn't support any of them.

The game wasn't build as an MMO, it was built as a single player game with crappy servers.

what the heck have they implemented???

this are just 3 places full of crap where you can pvp 4 vs. 4.

this are just 3 rooms and the same pvp mechanics as allways nothing more.

all I am saying is to build a room where 8 people can enter and which resets after 4 minutes or when one team is dead seems to you as complex as lets say balance an endboss in an operation??

the pve community got TWO new operations a new quest area and we got 3 rooms with a reset function.

yeah this is surely a pvp patch

Making this is not like mopping the floor at the drive-thru you work for.

It require planning, analysis, conception, implementation, testing and debuging until it is ready for release and then, finally, it needs to be deployed.

yeah you know where I work you mo.

just read what I wrote and see that I am comparing what they done for the pve people compared to the pvp - but that may take to much brains for people like you

What? Did PvE players get a new game mode other then FP and Ops?

Making armor sets is easy. Making a map isn't much hard.

Implementing an entire new game mode take much more effort then just creating a few items and bosses.

sorry I am out you are just to much of an idi....

where is the new gamemode?? this is just plain killing last man standing.

" creating a few bosses..." do you ever listen to what you are blabbering about?

They spent months adding new arenas to the game and four sets of boring, same-ish looking armor, and couldn't even take a stab at trying to rebalance the classes appropriately.

Because they are scared people would quit the game if they dare changed marauders defensive CD and revamp smashers. Since most of the players play warriors anyways.

And who are you to tell how hard it is to make content in a game?

Do you even have a single clue of how software development work?

you wrote "Making armor sets is easy. Making a map isn't much hard." and that's what I said at the beginning.

we got 3 new simple maps and a new armour.

there is no gamemode in a map where 8 people kill each other and which resets after that.

if you don't get it try at least play one arena and one operation and then tell me which one is more complex than the other thing??

but hey you are so smart - I cant stand it any longer - now I am realy out....

I could give two ****s how hard the content is to create. Thats what they get paid money to do. All I care about is the quality of the product I paid to consume. This PvP patch was a joke and the OP has a good point that all we get is 4 new little arenas to do the same old **** we've been doing but now with more glaring class balance issues. Quit making excuses for those "poor programmers" and "game developers" the content they have been making is crap and I'm no longer going to pay for it.

Well, sorry that I work in software developpement and know what it takes to develop something.

As for you, I wouldn't be surprised you never ever did "Hello world".

It's not the developper fault for poor design decisions.

And I wholeheartly agree that the game have seen crappy design decisions since they decided to put as few money as possible into their servers and everything in voice-over.

yeah ur moma is a software developer too.

that's why u started insulting me at the first place.

u got urself deep in talking BS and now ur way out is that u are a specialist lol go home u douche.

i am by the way a SAP basic admin and know some nice projects and can develop in ABAP (look it up if u can handle a browser and google) but that has nothing to do with what we are talking about.

if u tell me a map where 8 people can hopp around is more complex than an entire operation u are just out of ur mind.

Lol, don't read the dev tracker much?

It is fairly clear now that Mercenaries/Commandos are not the dominating force on the field of battle that we originally feared they might be. With that said, some classes have utilities that are just too strong and/or cooldown durations that are quite possibly too short – the Marauder/Sentinel is a good example of a class like this. So while some classes may pine to be given cooldowns that will make them as strong as Sentinels/Marauders, we would rather reduce the effectiveness of Marauder/Sentinel cooldowns to make them more like the other classes when it comes to survivability.

My mom is an accountant not a software developer.

Good to know you arn't working at a drive thru, but ABAP is far from game developpement. And if you really were working in software developpement like you claim to do (Assuming you are really a SAP basic admin and not only lying or early in your studies to become one), then you would know how analysis and conception work.

A software isn't made on the fly, least you want it to be full of bugs and lacking functionnalities.

Adding new functionnalities (Arenas) to the software take far more effort then creating a bunch of objects from already made classes (Operations).

Lol, don't read the dev tracker much?

Yes I read dev tracker. And I also knew smash spec should have been revamped and that marauder CD are too short a year ago.

I lost all faith in the devs after they gave this answer at the cantina event in Germany (according to Dulfy's web site):

13.The reason why there is not as much PvP content as PvE content is, that PvE always need new content to clear, while PvPers are generally happy, "as long as there is someone to kill".

Yeah, that is pretty telling that they do not understand the real joy of PvP and that is competition and real conflict. The killing other players is just a side effect of that. Some people probably are happy as long as they can just kill other players, but others want a bit more depth and strategy. A little more purpose beyond just getting their next set of gear. A greater sense of it being a war rather than a street fight.

Most things the devs say about PvP, they probably wouldn't if they stopped and replaced a PvP term with a PvE one. "The reason why there is not as much PvE content is PvEers are generally happy, "as long as there is some NPC to kill"

Yeah, so....how did they find the time to implement 2 new OPS for PvErs in our "PvP" update eh?

So WHERE in the Patch notes, DEV notes, news releases, etc... Did it say that this was a PvP update?! Do tell! I'd love to see that.

Funny that comment has been made, yet this patch, 2.4 was the Dread Lord update! *gasp* Omg...PvE content!

All it said was that there was going to be a few changes to the PvP stuff. Heck the armor was not even announced. You basically knew that from Duflys website or playing the PTS.

It honestly sad how much the PvPers complain, whine, throw tantrums, QQ, etc...Like, as one person commented, "Spoiled brats" when they just got new stuff.

So it didn't work like you were hoping. I agree there is flaws in some of it, but MY GOSH! Grow up! It's barely been released for 24hrs! Give them time to implement some changes, bug fixes, updates, etc...

TL;DR: This was NOT a PvP patch! Grow up & quit whining about new content. You don't like it, QUIT playing. No one is forcing you to play. lolz

Sure, this is what was said about 2.4. So excuse me for considering this a weak "update"....its'like getting 3-4 Voidstars with the exact objectives and just different colors on the map. Ie: ONE new warzone imo.

And btw saying "grow up" and "lolz" in the same sentance simply doesn't work, sorry. And maybe get your facts straight next time...

EDIT: I do agree with you though; This was NOT a pvp update, but it should have been.

Hi Warforever!

We are listening and do care. For what it’s worth I’m a PvPer too. PvP is one of our priorities and we are not going to do away with it. I’m not a big believer in making excuses, and can understand why it might feel like we are not focused on PvP, but here’s a bit of an explanation why the next big PvP update is several months out:

PvP and Class Balance are the same team of guys. It makes sense that the designers working on one also work on the other. This means that raising the level cap to 55 for Rise of the Hutt Cartel last month and redoing all the talent trees for all classes and extending the PvP game to level 55 and redoing the PvP gear for Rise of the Hutt Cartel has kept them busy. In fact, it took a heroic effort on their part to accomplish all this. This team plays PvP every day and share your and my passion for it. Now that Rise of the Hutt Cartel is behind them they don’t want to just service PvP by adding another warzone to the rotation, they want to address PvP with a meaningful update. We’ve given them the go ahead to do this and that’s why the big PvP features are several months out.

EDIT2: Another quote: Do you love it yet?

Also, for those who are curious about the next updates to PvP, I will just say… apart from minor tweaks (like stunbreak abilities cooldown being reset on death in 2.2) you should look forward to Game Update 2.4. /rubshands
