Vanguard Tank Ability: [STORM] Issue.

Helo there fellow Vanguards in space! My english is restricted because it's not the language I use. :)

 

In PvP the leaping ability "Storm" does have a major issue. While leaping abilities like those Marauders/Sentinels Juggernauts/Guardians have, "Force Leap", "Guardian Leap", "Zeleous Leap" works really good and fine the Vanguard leaping ability "Storm" does not. I can't explain the matter very good but I think the problem is the animation. Some times it takes too long to do it. It's like a delay.

 

When I'm clicking the Storm-skill nothing happens as it seems but a second or two later I'm suddenly at my target anyway. It's really frustrating and confusing and I hope it's just me, but after talking with a Vanguard guildmate in my guild he told me that he had the same problem when he was playing tank some weeks ago but that he could live with it. I know I can't because Vanguard tanking is almost the only thing I do. I can't videorecord it, but if someone can help me with that I'll upload it to Youtube and show it to you.

 

So now to the question, anyone else have this problem and if so, can we try get BioWare to know about the issue?

Only time I've had an issue with Storm's animation (if I am understanding correctly) is if I got rooted or leap at the same time I used Storm, then it takes a moment for powers to resolve. The system doesn't like it it seems.

I have also experienced this but though it was an isolated issue due to my poor fps and server connection in 55 pvp. It's pretty unacceptable that once again VG's have to bare the brunt of poor (simple to fix) bugs.

I thought this was just a load / lag issue with the animation... Since the last update I have experienced this but usually fix it before raiding by attacking / storming a target dummy or other convenient enemy before I go in. Maybe it'd work for you? - M.

Okay. It's now clear to me that I'm not the only one having this issue. I'm not satisfied at all but it's a start to get this bug fixed. I'm bumping this thread and hopefully BioWare will read it. If not, I guess I'll have to put up another thread in customer support. We all know BioWare play Empire and therefor more bugs for Republic. :mad:

I'm quite interested in this issue as I am currently levelling a Shield Specialist Trooper and will get this skill.

 

I have a Shieldtech (Powertech) and the equivalent skill (Jet Charge) works perfectly fine for me.(picked it up very recently) - I was just wondering if Powertechs were known to have this issue too (and if Storm might be working ok now)

Same problem here, but usualy at start of the wz or pull in pve. I storm, nothing happens for 5 seconds, then I'm at my target. Ofc if it is mob it is ok, but in pvp my opponent is usualy at different part of the map :rolleyes:

 

On sentinel and jugg - never problem like that. Never.

I've never had that problem with my Powertech either.... they need to fix this ability before I get it :p
