  1. A mix of dark side elements (The mask) but also light side (Colour set). Makes for a bad arse good-guy look http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/ChezRJ/media/Screenshot_2013-07-02_11_54_35_191800_zps3a3a7a9b.jpg.html?state=replace
  2. Some what off topic but i was trying to figure out how you can calculate an ability's (especially reflect) threat generation. Is it only possible on PTS?
  3. Tanking is by far my preferred role for a number of reasons: 1.)The main reason is the title of this post; no one seems to play them. This makes a good tank sought after (in oppose to having to wade through mountains of dps and people who think they can heal effectively) 2.) To me personally, having a huge hp bar (dwarfing others) and high defence stats is just as satisfying, if not more so, than high surge/crit for the occasionally high hit that (in PVE especially) no one pays huge amount of notice to. And lastly... 3.) At no point do i feel more god like than when im charging into a huge camp of mobs, or one large one which ever you prefer, and taking hits like a mad man. Yes you can play a sin for example who hits large numbers, but whats the fun when you know if you get aggro for just one second you'll be running away with your tail between your legs. In my opinion the issue for tanks is PVP. In my experience with MMO's (which is not extremely vast i will grant you) tanking has to be about a number of things such as HP, Defence stats, Self healing abilities, Gear, buffs...However in SWTOR i always get the feeling that unless you have that life saving defensive CD up or you have a healer in your pocket, you are going to die to skilled dps'ers or even 2-3 rubbish ones. Of course this isn't always the case but i feel there is too little character customisation in SWTOR (in terms of abilities) for there not to be something else to fall back on. This all said i love tanking and always will so there's always going to be one guy playing tank no matter how hard it is

  5. Oh yeah some of the sniper rifles look insane. But that just makes me even more confused... essentially they are the same thing except a scope (on a pure visual level) and yet the rifles look incredibly poor. But yes the new sniper in particular (I also forget its name) is a really well done in my opinion.
  6. I've posted a thread about this, there is a real lack of good looking blaster rifles. I mean have you seen the new cannon...MY LORD. It's the coolest looking thing I've ever seen. So why oh why does every rifle look like a water pistol?
  7. I forget where and how do you get the bowcaster? And yes thats what i would imagine will happen. That cannon looks awesome though and once again the rifle equivalent is a flop (visually)
  8. Does anyone else think that BW are unable to create a decent looking Blaster rifle? New cartel gear comes out so often and yet the only piece of weaponry that has no value (presumably because no one wants it) is the blaster rifles. Some of the early models look ok but don't quite live up to the 'epicness' that the cannons and pistols have. Any thoughts?
  9. It needed a bit more texture like the shadows's animation. But i agree that the datacron idea is a little sucky.
  10. I have also experienced this but though it was an isolated issue due to my poor fps and server connection in 55 pvp. It's pretty unacceptable that once again VG's have to bare the brunt of poor (simple to fix) bugs.
  11. I used to play focus back in the day but i've only recently come back to my Guardian and im not sure which way to spec. I know focus is still viable because of the amount of AOE but has vigilance been improved enough to make it more viable in PVP and/or PVE? Any help is appreciated.
  12. Hi guys, I've just made a maraluka consular and have the full head face mask (the grey one) as i thought it would look pretty cool with a hood. However, ive heard rumours that this rave gets really bad clipping issues. To be honest im not overly bothered about the head gear issues as i will just turn it off (even though i think the devs already did this in 1,3?). But i really want to be able to wear a hood up without half my head sticking out the back. Any advice is appreciated
  13. I also had similar problems at this level on my healing spec commando. A lot of it is down to terrible gear and (like others have said) people not being able to play their roles correctly. Trust me it'll become easier so dont worry. I remember playing FPs such as MR at 2 levels below the recommended and still be able to heal group efficiently and myself, sometimes even putting down some secondary dmg also. With bigger bosses its all about timing and amount of heals to draw least aggro and even if you do drag it being able to kite and your tanks re drawing aggro before you take an significant dmg. Just stick with it and you'll find its a awesome class to play and everyone will be wanting to group with you. And remember you can always re spec later if you feel you want a gunnery commando.
  14. Thanks for the advice I've had a look around since i posted the thread and seen people saying a KC hybrid is a good build (something like 27/1/13 cant remember exactly). Apparently its a great way to go for PVP making you an off-tank but still having good single target dmg. I thought since ill be in a group with a sentinel DPS isnt essential and an off-tank grabbing aggro off healer is never a bad thing. Any thoughts?
  15. Hi all, im rolling a shadow for the second time and cant decide which tree to go. Since i started playing the game ive been playing with one friend and playing through the story, However two more of my friends have recently subscribed and we now plan to play as a group of four throughout the entirety of the game. For ease and diversity of game play we've rolled a scoundrel (healing), a Vanguard (tanking) and a sentinel (Dps). As the 3 main rolls were fulfilled ive decided to roll a shadow with the primary goal of being another Dos in the group. However i cant decide whether to go infiltration or balance? I've checked out a few threads and guides but im still undecided. I will be mostly PVE but didnt want to gimp myself by playing a pure levelling build as i m part of a four man group anyway. I also want this char to be some what effective in PVP as i will be playing WZ once we've completed the story. I would consider myself an average player with some extended knowledge of the game however i think a highly complicated character with precise CD control may be beyond me. Does anyone have advice as to what tree would suit my desires best? Any help/advice would be much appreciated.
  16. Hi, I'm a reasonably casual player and im stuck on what to do with my BH Merc. Before 1.3 i had committed all my points to Arsenal tree but this patch has allowed me to rethink the build. Im predominately a PVE player so this seems like the right way to go but i dont want to gimp myself for future PVP. I generally only play with my friend and his Sith Juggernaut and we dont really struggle for heals with both companions. So is Arsenal really that vialble for PVP dmg (read a lot on the forums about Arsenal mercs sucking) or am i better with Pyrotech and will that be enough for PVE also? Or is a hybrid of the two viable? Will appreciate any help/advice Thanks
