  1. I've already stated my feelings about Supreme Chancellor Saresh and the simple fact she is even Supreme Chancellor is laughable, at best. You have two choices on her rise to power; bad writing, or she has some very powerful backers (possibly sith) helping her.
  2. While the game time doesn't reflect it, you're an Apprentice for several months to a year before you are given the title of Lord. Remember several months go by for each Chapter.
  3. He might have wanted power, but your approximation of Malgus character is flawed. All Sith want power. Any Sith saying they don't is a liar. Even the light sided Sith want power. But saying that Malgus didn't want a noble goal? That part is pretty much error, as even Darth Marr even states that Malgus ideals were noble ones, and ultimately right.
  4. Npo he isn't. He led a parade? Ok, tell me what he looks like? He led imperial forces in countless battles? Tell me, which ones? You say he is the face of the Empire, yet at the end of SOR he is talking like he is just now deciding he should make that move. He is a FACELESS, quite literally, entity. We know nothing about him, we don't even know the battles he was in. But what about Malgus? I bet people can tell you the majority of battlefields he's fought in, we can see what he looks like, we know his face. His victories are a matter of public record, where as Darth Marr's are not. So seriously, no, he is not a publicly known individual, he looks like any other Darth to the common layman and even Imperial soldiers. He doesn't stand out, and at best people might know he is on the Dark Council. I like Darth Marr, but I also know he is a faceless individual given all of Malgus lines now because they went ahead and removed Darth Malgus from the equation, in one of the most monumental blunders ever. The Marr we had at the end of our characters arcs is not the same Marr we deal with in Hutt Cartel or Shadows of Revan. This is the lines Malgus should have had but because they've "killed" Malgus off, they completely shifted that role into Marr's hands.
  5. You would be hard pressed to convince anyone outside of the Dark Council of that. Again, this is public versus someone who tends to be behind closed doors. And politically, Malgus also had the upper hand.
  6. I blame the coup on the crap *** writing to be honest. Everything seemingly was set up in the vanilla game as if TOR wasn't going to succeed so went out of their way to have the Empire decimated and crippled by games end, story wise at least, and only leaving enough of a carrot for expansions if the game actually went anywhere. To be blunt, the entire Empire was written into a corner and getting them out of it is looking to be a feat that won't be resolved for some time to come. Malgus should have never fallen and even if he returns he will probably be returned as some revenge happy mongrel that goes "Rawr, Smash!" more than the savvy warrior with bigger dreams for the Empire. I know I am not the only one that would have preferred to join Malgus coup.
  7. You must not look around if you believe that.
  8. Never under estimate the power of a famous war hero, and Darth Malgus was quite famous. Doesn't take much to look through history to see that war heroes often get elected and placed in places of power after major wars. Compare this to Darth Marr, a relatively faceless (and yes, he is faceless even if he is cool as hell) person that only the upper echelon even talk to, while Malgus has actually communicated with underlings and subordinates. Malgus has always made his feelings clear that rejecting other races and not being united leads to ruin. In the end, if there was an election, even though I like Marr, Malgus would have most likely won that by a land slide. The people of the Empire know who Malgus is, know he is a highly decorated war hero, and has earned his title as Darth. Not to mention, it's foolish to sit there and say that Malgus would have no political savvy. he was able to convince quite a number of people to join him as him as Emperor, so I think his political power is quite stronger than people give him credit for.
  9. Orgis Din. Gnost Dural. Couple of others I can't remember the name of, off the top of my head. And no, Theron wasn't a secret. It was a widely known fact. I mean seriously, you think Jedi and anyone can't add two and two together to figure out, "that hey wait a moment, Satele and Theron have the same last name?" Only the gullible actually believe that Theron was a secret because if he was it was the worst kept secret in the order.
  10. Basically, as I said. His coup was just ill timed, coming hot on the heels of Baras own coup.
  11. Hard core? You really think it's hard core when it takes practically no time now, as is, to reach level cap? Seriously, if you need an IWIN button, then MMOs are never for you.
  12. This thread has become amusing now as people will sit back and only quote EU sources when it suits them for the Jedi but absolutely dismiss them when it concerns the Sith. So, I get called a hypocrite, but the person doing that is being extra hypocritical. As far as Satele's look, determination is one thing, it's still a blatant fact, she didn't kill any of those Sith that she just did her bad martial arts against. And it's pretty damn obvious, that once again, she was overpowered by Malgus in the fight. Again, it's always hilarious when a named Jedi can break the rules and get away with it, and nepotism is the only reason that Satele is the Grandmaster. Especially when there are Jedi that are better suited to the role of Grandmaster.
  13. DCUO is alive and kicking well, on the PS4. As far as the PC version, well, it's still there but it gets ported updates from the console, so yea, a lot of it is going to be limited based on what a console can do. As far as the level 30 cap, the games a gear grind once you hit level 30. Combat Rating is a laughable sham there.
  14. A hero is not singularly good or evil, or related to a faction. I guarantee you, in every war you check out in history, both sides had heroes. Even the Axis powers had their heroes. It wasn't just the Allies pumping them out. Just like in the Star Wars universe, there will be heroes on both sides. the definition of hero is basically a man or woman in the face of danger or adversity.
  15. No, that's just lazy writing. This is why I am puzzled everytime people play the same class more than once just to experience the story from the different alignment angle. I am always going why? The story is the exact same very little changes except how the dialog is given in the end.
  16. Well, let's count the reasons why Ilum was taken out, at least the old form of it; People rarely actually PvP'd except out of boredom. Most of what happened was what most people would call "win" trading. PvP was rarely, if ever, balanced fairly at all. Usually it was a few people against an entire raid of people. The few times that there was actually balanced teams it was generally one side spawn camping the other in their base. Easily exploited terrain in Ilum resulted in a lot of "cheaters" that roamed about and getting into enemy bases to boot. No reason to even bother with Ilum except for the weekly, which was easy to get. They changed the system to kills needed, and the end result was still more win trading results, and PvP rarely broke out in the scale that was wanted. There are videos of just one side, typically Empire due to Empire having the higher ratio of players at the time, just spawn camping the crap out of the Republic. Lack of objectives and reasons to fight killed the mood of Ilum as it had absolutely 0 impact on the nature of PvP or the game. You got less Valor and Tokens in PvP on Ilum from a days worth of killing than you would in a single match of Huttball.
  17. Well every story based character is described as the greatest duelist of all time, at least when it concerns the Jedi and their main cast, why taking the term greatest duelist should be done with a grain of salt. Honestly, Obi's Soresu stance should have been absolutely ineffective against Grievous lightsaber blender attack, but we are talking about a story that had to be predetermined to go the way it did since, well, we had to get to the events of Episode 4, no matter how sloppily.
  18. Hypocrite? Seriously? let's see, Sidious took on and beat Yoda; check. Sidious took on Windu held him off and let Windu get the upper hand to trick Anakin into saving him; check. Sidious beat Darth Maul; check. He defeated the two Jedi knights that was with Windu; check. The only "scores" of Sith she beat down was three. Yep, three, she actually hit with her lightsaber. The rest she knocked out of the way, unless you want to count those to then that's a grand total of six Sith she actually made contact with. And the funny part, two of the Sith she hit with her lightsaber, she didn't even hit, she burnt their cloak but not them, so in total she killed umm, oh one Sith probably, the rest were eitehr daze or just happeend to get Jackie Channed out fo frame to disappear for no adequately explained reason because two main characters were now engaged. You need to learn what a score is before you talk again next. In fact the only confirmed kill in that entire fight was a battle droid she sabered through the head. Quite a bit different from Malgus cutting down Jedi in the Deceived trailer, or executing troopers in Hope.
  19. In every outing against Satele, Malgus has always come out on top to the point that Satele has needed outside assistance to win. Furthermore, the only time she's ever shown defeating Sith is when she is beating on scrubs, yet Malgus is shown killing at least two prominent and powerful Jedi. Maul lost to Sidious cause Sidious was more powerful. Sidious was toying with Windu, as evidenced by the simple fact of someone who was so "weak" to Windu he certainly all the sudden regains his power out of no where. Sidious was being manipulative enough to convince Anakin to try and spare him. Again, the premise that Windu overpowered Sidious seems misguided because if Sidious defeated Windu, Anakin would not have chosen Sidious over Windu, and further more Sidious would not have been able to claim that the Jedi attacked him. Uhh, Maul killed one of the greatest Jedi saberists of all time; Qui-Gon Jin. He did it without even breaking a sweat while Qui-Gon was having difficulty. In fact the entire final victory that Obi-Wan gets over Maul is just plain ridiculous considering Maul had him beat hands down as well. So really, what are you arguing other than ignoring key points of your facts?
  20. She didn't turn the tide of a battle, she showed up started cutting down a bunch of no names then hit a brick wall called Darth Malgus, and until Jace got involved was pretty much on the ropes the whole fight. Now, if you talk about re-watching trailers, maybe you should actually do that.
  21. I hope they don't re-add this. Get over yourselves on your "I played every class multiple times so I deserve to not have to do the content over again" argument. One thing to drive me away would be dumbing the game down further than it doesn't need to be.
  22. Or the fact people want to make excuses for the fact that their favorite power base should be superior because a muppet said so over 30 years ago.
  23. And yet, it only took one Sith to overpower multiple Jedi. Really, you are reaching at this point as even the movies back this up that it took at least two Jedi, fighting at their best, to just take on a Sith fighting casually. And it's not a theory with Satele, she's not the greatest jedi, ever, she's not even remotely in the top 10. Again, she is Jedi Grandmaster due to nepotism. In fact in two encounters with Malgus that we've seen, she's been bested BOTH times. It's not even a bloody theory at this point it's a fact. Satele is not a powerful Jedi, and people holding onto the fact she's Grandmaster of the Jedi order are falsely under the impression that even goes to the most powerful Jedi. You can say it's a misrepresentation of the Rule of Two until you are blue in the face but the evidence is clear. When Darth Sidious, Maul and Count Dooku can take on multiple Jedi at once and not even break a sweat, then it's clearly obvious which side has the advantage. Now, you can keep pretending that it's misrepresentation all damn day, but the facts are clear to anyone with actual working eyes.
  24. The whole mythology of Star Wars has gigantic, gaping plot holes in it, so trying to make sense of it is difficult to do. For instance, while people will say Luke Skywalker is a light sided Jedi Knight, he's clearly seen in pisode 6 Force Choking pig men, and people will try to contend that he isn't, despite the fact we see those pig men are grasping at their throats. If Luke killed them we don't know as that is never made clear, but he did Force Choke them. Again, in other media, while it's often stated that Force Lightning is the power of the dark side only, we've seen at least one major instance of a light side character in EU using it, and that's with Starkiller. Honestly, the whole concept that the Force has a Light and Dark side is just dumb to begin with, as something that denotes life itself can't be good or evil, light or dark or whatever terminology.
  25. I prefer a middle road approach using the sith code as the basis for the choices. Cultivating power and removing the useless. LS sorcerer story is honestly the worst written piece I've ever seen if you go hard light side, just like if you go hard light side on sith warrior to. Ignoring the color bubbles completely and choose what you think your sith would do in that moment. Light or Dark choices really have no meaning in this game, other than a few different choices in cut scenes.
