Wayshuba Posted June 27, 2012 Share Posted June 27, 2012 Just bought the space, class mission and exploration xp boosts on an alt I'm leveling. 575k credits boom. So, go into space missions and do the highest one I can for level and no extra XP on the kills, so I figure maybe you only get it on the mission. Then, no xtra XP on the mission. ***?!? So, I purposely do they easy first escort mission, you know, the one where you get a whopping 5 XP for completing. So I complete it, figure I should get either 6 or 7 XP (instead of 5), since I now have a 30% bonus and guess what, I get a whole 5 XP just like before. Come on BW. There is so little in this content update and yet what is there doesn't even work. To say I am frustrated at this point with all the bugs in the game which keep getting introduced with each patch is an understatement. Sub renewal is coming up shortly... I was going to resub but I am getting to the point where I'm not sure if I am going to. This is pathetic considering how small this update is. Red-Dwarf Posted June 27, 2012 Share Posted June 27, 2012 The xp boosts do work, but the 5xp reward is a cap applied if you are too high a level, that cap comes after the xp boost so you only get 5xp still. You are on the character you bought the perks on when testing this, aren't you? After all, the perks are character based, not legacy based. ZudetGambeous Posted June 27, 2012 Share Posted June 27, 2012 I've found that there is really only a very very very very very small level range in which space missions give xp... pretty much the level they become available. Once you are 1 level higher than that level and the mission turns yellow from orange they only give 5xp for the bonus missions, and once you are 2-3 levels above the entire mission only gives 5xp. Needless to say the 30% bonus really isn't worth it... though the real reason I didn't get it is because of what a slap in the face it is... Bioware nerfed space xp by 50% in 1.2 and now they try and sell us a 30% increase for absurd amounts of money. It's disgraceful to be honest. RixoFutu Posted June 27, 2012 Share Posted June 27, 2012 I don't know what's the point of most of the charakter perks. XP boost for 50lvl? Like 20lvl legacy? First, I did a level 40 mission with no bonuses, then did the first escort mission with no bonuses. Secondly, even if it is currently capped at 5 xp these legacy perks should still apply bonus to base. Otherwise they are a waste of credits. REiiGN Posted June 27, 2012 Share Posted June 27, 2012 Yeah, all these seem pretty worthless. Plus if you're a true alt-holic, you play your alts when they have the xp meter filled with extra xp. Plus, just even doing FPs, Space, or PvP already helped tremendously. About the only thing I like is the shuttle to Black Hole, and LFG Tool(it has worked for me). You do not get any extra for kills in the mission. To prove it to yourself you would need another alt where you can do a before and after test. Elayne Posted June 27, 2012 Share Posted June 27, 2012 The Space Mission XP boost absolutly does work. However, It only applies to the end reward and the daily quests. The 5xp problem you are seeing is a different. It isn't new. The level of the space missions themselves is apparently rather low, as in, by the time you can run a mission, it is only 1-3 levels from no longer giving XP on the end reward. I bought the 1st 4 perks, did the mission (green), and it gave me 5830 xp at the end. Then I logged off. The day after I bought the last perk and did the same mission (mugvaar ice field I think) and it gave me the exact same xp amount. I didn't level during that time and I stayed in my ship... You verified that it only gave you 5830 xp added to your previous xp total on your xp bar? I'm thinking the xp bonus from the character perk applies behind the scenes when the xp is added to your total, and is not in fact shown on the quest completion popup window.
