  1. There should be multiple decorations that drop from all of the flashpoints/ops. Right now I can run story mode Star Fortresses and get multiple decorations. Should be able to gather a theme from all flashpoints and ops that way. Athiss theme, Foundry theme, Ilum theme, etc. I'm talkin' basic nicknacks to help decorate rooms, leave the crazy stuff in the cartel packs. If they're going to put a feature like player housing in the game, then let people enjoy it instead of feeling like they have to dedicate months to collecting. I never open my SHs up because there's nothing for anyone to see, it's bare bones. Should be able to furnish them well and pretty quickly and then have some rare and cartel decos for future redecorating. Having a chance at one decoration from a flashpoint just isn't cutting it.
  2. Legacy really is pretty lackluster and disappointing. I defend this game a lot but the Legacy System is a miss in my opinion. They built it up during that Guild Summit like it was going to rock our socks off. Almost all of us were under the impression from the way it was described that we'd have two options, 1. get the appropriate legacy level to unlock something or 2. purchase it for those who were focusing on just one character and didn't have a high legacy level. Then we were confused to find that you have to spend a fortune even if you have the legacy level to unlock something. I just get the feeling that we're dealing with another design team that is afraid of giving too much. They overcompensate in the other direction and give too little. If they have some financial wiz at the meetings saying, "Trust me, make them grind it out and they'll stick around and keep paying" they need to replace that person with a gamer who has some common sense to tell them, "Give them cool stuff and fun stuff and they'll stick around to play with that cool stuff and fun stuff." There should be nothing in those Legacy rewards that makes a player go, "Hmm, nah, not worth it." All of it should be very appealing. If it isn't, scrap it and replace it with something better. The Legacy System needs more oomph. Legacy speeder training? Nice, now take the next step down that path and give Legacy Speeders as well. Legacy race unlocks? Take the next step and make them more than just the races from the other faction. Legacy ship droid/GTN/target dummies? Take the next step, Legacy usable ship pazaak tables for a pazaak mini-game to use when you bring friends on board, Legacy space missions (award Daily and/or BH Comms), Legacy expanded storage, Legacy ship modification station that let's you add Augment slots to gear WITHOUT the need for Augment kits (Legacy 30 or 35). Legacy XP character perks? Take the next step, make sure they still benefit level capped characters in some way, give each a secondary boost that would help a level capped character. Flashpoint XP boost would grant a Social boost or up the percentage of dropped credits or something that a level 50 would still benefit from. The Legacy System feels like they only got halfway through their brainstorming session before handing it off.
  3. You verified that it only gave you 5830 xp added to your previous xp total on your xp bar? I'm thinking the xp bonus from the character perk applies behind the scenes when the xp is added to your total, and is not in fact shown on the quest completion popup window.
  4. OP lost all credibility when he failed to capitalize the letter "I."
  5. I'm not even in a guild that can field it's own 8-man groups and I'm able to get in all three ops each week. The group I run with was eager to do SM KP/EV for the 5 BH Comms. Make sure when you do so that you let the group finder randomly pick them for you. At first we specifically chose EV to knock that out but didn't get our 5 Comms cause once you deselect KP from the interface the BH Comm reward is no longer available. Have to let the group finder do it's thing and randomize them. Maybe your uber guild doesn't feel it needs BH Comms anymore? If I were you I would challenge their egos with some clever taunts, "Yeah, guess we better stay out of SM EV/KP, wouldn't want to wipe or anything. Probably couldn't even do it in less than an hour." Challenge accepted, EV/KP on the schedule, 5 BH Comms incoming.
  6. So right now it's moving Campaign mods into augmented crafted gear that gives it the noticeable edge over Rakata? What happens after 1.3 when we can add augment slots to Rakata gear? Will this narrow the gap between Campaign and Rakata?
  7. I'm confused, why does everyone keep referring to the 15m range for the entire Guard effect both PVE and PVP? Reading the tooltip it should be two separate effects, only one is limited by the 15m range which is the second half of the tooltip that involves the PVP 50% damage sharing. These are two separate effects. The ability itself has a 30m range to cast it on someone. The first part of the tooltip involving the 5% damage reduction and the 25% threat reduction should not require the guarded player to be within 15 meters. That's not how it is worded. Is this how it works? If so BW needs to edit the tooltip. The 5% damage reduction and 25% threat reduction should always be in effect on the guarded target regardless of range or at least be extended to 30m and not 15. The 15m range limit for the PVP effect is so a tank can't split the damage with someone from a large distance where the attackers wouldn't be able to reasonably travel to target the guarding tank instead. Has it been confirmed that the PVE oriented effect of Guard is actually limited to 15m also?
  8. That's not a bug, he killed you. If he knocks you back off of one of the ledges, you die instantly. Re: Tanking I've been tanking on my PT alt lately simply because that's the character I have that is the most in-demand. Some of the fights are pretty frustrating. I hated Kaon Under Siege, while the DPS loved it. I usually mark a target with the yellow crosshairs icon as the kill target. That's what I want them to focus on while I round up the rest. Yet time after time that target is the last to die. Why? Why is focusing on one mob out of a pack that hard? When a tank tells you to kill "this target first," why would you hit anything other than that target? It defies logic. Is there some kind of setting where people can't see target markers? I have dps in groups attacking immediately, before I can even hit a mob once. If I can't get on the threat table, it's not coming for me, it's coming for you. This shouldn't be hard to understand. I shouldn't have to taunt everything. Taunt should be for emergencies. Let me hit the darn things before you nuke it. It doesn't surprise me at all that tanks are hiding among their guilds right now.
  9. I agree, cross-server LFG would be a disaster. OP, do you honestly think a cross-server LFG tool would bring you better players than what you are running into on your server? Think about it. It's not going to magically put competent people into your operation group. It would be putting people who were probably kicked out of the operation groups on their own respective servers and now they are joining your PuGs. You think you're frustrated by playing with people who can't handle instructions now, get a cross-server LFG tool and you'll be bashing your face into your keyboard with tears streaming down your cheeks. The key to smooth Operations is having a set group of people who get used to each other and get used to working together on a weekly basis. Grouping with random people each week from other servers would be a nightmare. You'd have to sit there and explain every fight, each week.
  10. So the actual issue the OP is hiding among the "casual vs. hardcore" nonsense is that he is in a guild that has members that are leaving or going inactive on a server that seems to be dwindling. It's frustrating. Understood. I think the main problem right now is that there are too many guilds. Too many people started with the mentality that they should be running their own guild instead of joining one created by someone else. There just aren't enough active players around to fill all these little guilds. I'm hoping that as time goes on, the active players in the small guilds will slowly start to consolidate into a few bigger guilds. People need to accept that just because they can form a new guild doesn't mean they should. Try joining one of the ones that already exists before forming a new one and trying to recruit from the limited player pool.
  11. Folks in my guild dropped what they were doing and we all headed for Tat, doing the dailies multiple times on our alts. Most people I've seen on the same planet in the same area, easily. I'd say the event was a success.
  12. I witnessed a similar demise in a group I was in. Two of us stopped right at the edge of the elevator shaft, third...needs to work on their brakes.
  13. Not too mention there are some areas still restricted to dial-up. My Networking instructor told us there are some areas that will just never be able to be brought up to speed due to distance as well as the landscape itself. Telecommunications is always scrambling to meet the demand. That's why cell phone networks were bogged down when they first became available, the technology couldn't handle the usage. They realized they were going to run out of IP addresses with IPv4 so now we're trying to move on to IPv6 and that's just a temporary fix, it still has a finite number of addresses. So to answer the OP, many many years. We'll be participating in massive online battles from the retirement homes our kids threw us in.
  14. Sounds like you missed an entire planet somewhere but your class quests would have taken you where you needed to go. Try to see if you can do the Alderaan bonus series. That usually opens up around your level. Either someone on the fleet will have the quest to go there or you can probably start it directly on Alderaan.
  15. Let's take a moment to thank the God of Sloth for embracing us and giving us this opportunity to sit around playing games and complaining about games while some people out their are being tortured and hacked to pieces. I know I certainly didn't do anything to deserve this pampered, lazy lifestyle. Divine intervention proof positive. Thank you Great One for choosing me!
  16. I suspect the complainers are the people that had a hard time completing some of the class quests, especially the between chapter intermission quests. Instead of admitting that they couldn't do it or could use some help, they look for things to complain about to make it seem like the game's fault or Bioware's fault. Think of other situations in life where similar behavior is demonstrated: Guy has a crush on a girl. Asks her out privately (doing his solo quest) and she rejects him (he dies). Then when he's around his buddies or other people (back to the forums) he claims that he heard she has an STD so he's not interested anymore (the game sucks).
  17. This happens in every game with factions. People start claiming there is dev favoritism.
  18. Everyone should be working on having at least three characters. A tank, a healer, and dps. Join a good guild with people you get along with, maybe a crew you met that was looking for 1 more for a flash point or a daily heroic and as you did the run with them you realized, "Hey, these chaps ain't so bad." Use your three characters to help fill roles as needed to help the members of that guild do the heroic dailies, flash points, and PVP if they fancy that. The guild's primary tank might want to run something on their Sniper today, tank for them. Be a decent person, help out, have fun. Gaming is a social thing. Trying to compete with strangers over gear or prowess like a lot of players seem to do is just silly. They are handicapping themselves. Be a team player and you might make some lifelong friends along the way. My guild has fun no matter what we're doing. Dailies? Awesome, let's go. Wiping during a daily quest because we were half asleep? Jokes start flying and we're awake again. Figuring out flash point fights without reading about them or watching videos first? Fantastic. We don't let each other get bored. We'll find something to do.
  19. All of the things you listed are coming, including Multi-specs. What's the problem? This isn't the line to sit on Santa's lap.
  20. Unlocking races will be purchasable, right? Problem solved. Think of the level 50 unlocking in terms of the family tree. Your first Sith gets to 50, has a kid without obvious Force potential, becomes a Sith Bounty Hunter or Agent. See? Re: Humans, Cyborgs - They said Humans and Cyborgs will unlock things, I think it was a Presence buff for Humans (making your alt's companions tougher and thus helping with leveling which is the point) and Cyborgs would unlock the various class specific cyborg cosmetic implants. You aren't getting nothing from leveling one of them to 50. It may not rock your world but it's at least something.
  21. From what they described I think the group would get all three buffs. If the Jugg cast his/hers first, the Marauders would just refresh the Warrior buff when they cast theirs, and it would apply the Agent buff.
  22. Everything will be purchasable. Get the appropriate Legacy level, thing you want becomes available, you have enough credits, buy it. As has been said, it's for people who focus on just one or two characters. They won't be taking every race to 50 and unlocking it that way, so they can pay credits to unlock it instead. They said it will be expensive. I have no problem with the option to unlock these things with credits. I personally am an altaholic so I doubt I'll need to unlock things that way but it I am OK with the option being there. They aren't putting in a purchasable "I win!" button. Legacy stuff is supposed to be fun, it's stuff to work on over the years playing this game. It is your Legacy as a player of TOR. Years from now, whether you leveled characters to unlock things or paid millions of credits to unlock things, you'll be proud of your Legacy.
  23. I'm very satisfied with the Legacy System stuff revealed. Mailbox on ship...nice! Vendor droid on ship...nice! Multiple class buffs covered by one character...nice! Preferred leveling style buffs...nice!
  24. I hope with all those guilds gathered in one central location they can avoid any spontaneous dance offs. Breakin' VII: Hustlin' in Austin
  25. Yeah, OP, something is off with your tale of woe. I, too, do all of the quests including bonus missions and bonus series. By doing so I hit 50 on Voss. Corellia and Ilum are pure gravy for my characters. Voss is the planet I ding 50 on. I'm at least 2 to 3 levels above the mobs I am fighting on any planet past Nar Shadaa. You are missing something.
