  1. Is there any chance this also applies to the crew skills resetting to 400 if higher bug with GS as well? Hopefully that affects less people, although I don't know yet whether it affects any mission complete when skill over 400 or just one which would award a higher level, the test so far only picked up the latter.
  2. You get 20 for doing the "space combat:..." mission You will have unlocked the "operation:..." mission. Go do those for the black hole rewards.
  3. Correct, however you need to point the mouse at what you want to kill, and as many things now take quite a few shots to kill while you are shooting at it they will get their guns lined up on you. Unless you are using the wasd keys to keep moving while shooting you will take a lot of damage and I would be surprised if your ship can survive. You might just make it through Hypori, which seems the easiest, but good luck on Baros, shooting at ten ships all shooting back at you with you chasing them is bad enough with moving around.
  4. While they do take place in the same basic environments the goals and routes started from scratch, so you will find mines which are protected by invincible shields where you must take down the generator first, frigates you have to completely destroy (not just the turrets, the whole ship blows up) and as said in the blog some hard points which now need two torpedoes so you need to decide where your bombing runs will be. I just hope they can fix the non Jedi ships as so far out of four ships tested only defenders work properly
  5. If those are the only controls you use these missions will be very tough for you. For normal missions you can get away without needing the up/down/left/right movements, for heroic you need to avoid more shots.
  6. Hope they fix the Thunderclap bug, or you will wish you had another ship!
  7. There is a new enhanced power distribution module for 300k credits, two new schematics (only had enough comms after the F2P testing for 1) the missile launcher needs 12 enriched durasteel and other high end materials. Four other parts but I'm not sure they are as good, sell for 500 fleet comms each but they don't have the same bonuses as current top level gear so you may not want to upgrade. Of course, we can't yet test the new missions, so we may need the extra armour and have to sacrifice the boost to weapon damage.
  8. Did you try logging out of the character and logging back in? When this came up on PTS that seemed to resolve the problem.
  9. Can you expand on what you are referring to in this regard? As it stands now the process which has been introduced is now setting it up so it is becoming dangerous for me to test as without current experience there is a danger in any reports I make being unhelpful, but if you are changing things I'd like to know what and how to see if it is worth me trying to help more.
  10. Is that one with an integrated graphics and dell modified drivers? If it is can you please log on to PTS to check it still works as so far HP and Samsung machines with intel integrated graphics with oem drivers both fail to run the game but we need more testing to be sure what the problem is and how widespread it it.
  11. PTS will be back up soon (it is being patched now) - the more people that can test this patch the better. Especially anyone with an onboard graphics chipset or an older card. As these sorts of changes are made there is a risk (as appears to have crystallised with this update) that older setups won't be able to run the game any more, Bioware need as many people as possible to test so they can see if the number who would gain from better images is outweighed by the number who can no longer play the game at all (i.e. they login and crash to desktop before the world finishes loading)
  12. ah, so is this why some people might need newer drivers than are available for their video chips? I was wondering as there weren't any graphics changes listed in the patch notes I could see. We need lots more testing on this to nail down the crash to desktop problems in 1.5 and see if it related to needing newer drivers as some manufacturers unfortunately don't update their customised drivers for OEM on-board chip setups so affected computers which meet the minimum specs may be unable to run the game after 1.5.
  13. Just to check - you are aware this is not how it is working on PTS right? I had 9/12 characters there (all made there, so no problem with copies not counting correctly) and was able to make a 10th while we are set as being F2P but according to your answer I should have been restricted and able to play any of the 9, but not make a new character.
  14. Dulfy, did you not get a free scanner when you finished the theoretika? I was sure I only had to buy one scanner for my other faction alt (although thinking about as I can't get in game right now can you just email the scanner to your alt while they do the homeworld component and they email it back with the component?)
  15. Correct, I haven't yet figured out how to activate the quest on my imp character, so no clue how to get the item, and he's not yet 50 so not a chance of getting the pre-quest done...
  16. PTS forums are for reporting issues, not for talking about the guides etc for the new content, so this thread wouldn't be appropriate there. Oh and...
  17. As a partial workaround on that after the cutscenes jump on a vehicle and off again and the companion should take their helmet off. If indoors you can dismiss and recall but that takes a second longer.
  18. The interaction problem with the two places to find hide head slot was reported on PTS, as was the known schematic and curator problems now being reported in customer service. And glz's reporting on the sli fps issue went on for ages. The gtn problem does appear new on live, other than it being cleared out because PTS was down for so long it seemed to work.
  19. Did they fix the pre-1.4 augmentation kits issue? I didn't see it in patch notes. If not make sure you use any kits tonight as they may not work in the morning (newly crafted kits will work fine, so it's only a short term problem). Also be wary on any mission drop schematics, you can use them and they will disappear even if you already know the schematic.
  20. Ah, is that why I started getting occasional graphic tears across the screen in 1.4? Not nailed it down yet but occasionally an effect in combat was generating a long thin line to the edge of the screen like it failed to hold shape and is just shooting off in a random direction. Still trying to get proper repro steps on it, came up occasionally on both the ground and space, only a minor distraction tbh.
  21. Scarily enough back on the SWG forums some SOE folk did keep a tracker on me! From time to time after a post I would get a pm or a /tell on the test server quizzing me on it.
  22. I don't believe that is true. I have seen a number of bugs reported where there has been corrective action taken before the patch was released live. Not in all cases and some are annoying when clearly the bug report has not been passed on as the developers after the release to live clearly didn't hear the reports from test. For example the emergency fix needed in response to the pre-1.3 augmented item slots not functioning, the posts from the devs clearly show they hadn't heard the shouting we were doing that there was a problem.
  23. Allison can you please edit or ask Amber to edit her post on welcome to PTS? It clearly still states there that the server is meant to be available the 'majority of the time' and not that the server is a temporary server only up during testing major patches, according the test server page the server is currently up but the launcher doesn't provide the option to access the server. I can understand although disagree with the test approach being taken and I think the number of emergency patches issued in response to the 1.2.x and 1.3.x patches (i.e. Thursday patches) suggests the approach isn't working very effectively compared to a test server used for testing all patches rather than just the major ones. As someone who was a very vocal member of SWG's test community for a long time I appreciate the value that a test community could be to an MMO and do feel sorry for the Bioware dev team who are not able to draw on that free resource and so their jobs are harder to do. I made the mistake of believing Amber's post** and the approach taken for testing 1.1 and the following patches up to 1.2 would hold true and dedicated my TOR playtime to PTS in order to provide the best feedback I could to the dev team, now I have one 50, three in their 40's and a few more lower levels unable to play or test. Oh well, can't grumble as it's always a possibility and having survived the TC/TCPrime changeover it's not the first set of characters I've lost, just not sure I have the energy to grind up on a live server when all I want to do is test. **edit: As I re-read I realised that could be misinterpreted - I am not saying Amber's post was wrong - I firmly believe at the time of Amber's post the plan was for a persistent server testing every patch (the server even had a different name back then), but after 1.2 the plan changed, but so far no one has gone back and changed the post to reflect the revised plan.
  24. Ever since 1.2 was released the devs chose to send small patches live without a spell on the public test server. PTS is now only used for the major patches but is normally available in between for players who want to prepare, for example by getting two characters set up to test HK when he comes back. Personally I think it would be more efficient to use PTS for these short tests but it is their call to make.
