Worst/Most pointless companions in the game?

Is your BH male? I was explaining Skadge to a friend the other day and it occurred to me that a male BH might not even see his objectionably leery comments and so he would just come off as a crazy ******e, which is acceptable, as far as it goes. I mean, I have no problem with that, just the ugh creepy factor that he has.

Ah never even occurred to me to think about how creepy he could be for a female player. rofl imagine if he was a romance option.

So in your opinion, who do you think is the most pointless/overall worst companion in the game? I have not made more than one class to 50, but I have to saw I fail to see the point in Bowdaar for the Smuggler. His only real redeeming quality, is that he's a wookiee.

Seriously, he's, 1. Melodramatic: (I die! Go on without me!) 2. He was SWTOR's equivalent to a WWE wrestler (His fights with Drooga were staged) 3. He's no better at tanking than Corso, and no better at DPS than Akaavi. 4. He sits in the KITCHEN all day surrounded by ALCOHOL, pretty sure Wookiees are not supposed to drink... If I had the choice, I would have made him, 1. Less of a "wannabe noble savage" and 2. Made him act more independent, I mean, the guy was a slave until I saved his butt, once he was freed, don't you think that he might I dunno... Take advantage of that?

Sure, the guy's useful to have on the ship though... So no one steals it again while I am gone. Who is your least favorite companion? And how could they be made better?

i find this more of a joke than a complaint

I'm male, and so is my toon. In fact, my BH is married to Mako. Anyhow, I've been saying Skadge is a POS since I first had to pick him up on Belsavis. Seriously, BioWare. Let me KILL HIM INSTEAD!!!

He's a complete creeper as far as women are concerned, and he rubbed me the wrong way when he made a sexist crack about Mako. Yeah, he's still sitting at -2k affection because I am NOT going to cater to his garbage.

And that's just from shipboard convos and choices made on the Holo, like dealing with the Chancellor after killing Tormen.

Yeah, It was at that point that I decided I was never going to speak to him again. (Not that I wanted him on my ship in the first place, I wanted to kill him.) Ugh.

I don't really "get" Akaavi. I think from a guy's POV, as a romance option, she is real nice...but for a girl, idk. From everything I've read it seems like it's impossible to get her to become your friend if you don't romance her. Risha, at least, gives off a nice friendship vibe...you get to have conversations with her about shoes and going out drinking with the girls. It's like Sex and the City In Space. I mean, I guess Akaavi would make an OK Miranda.

If only I could hire Vette; then I'd have a Charlotte and it would really be SATC In Space!

Corso is worst then C2N2 and the other droid then the person who made this thread also whoever said about vector he is epic dps and his brain is 1 with the hive thats why he says WE all the time and talks about bugs

" he is merely jealous of the fact our membrosia brings all the girls to the yard.

we can teach you, but you will have to become part of the hive mind"

I haven't gotten far enough with my smuggler to have Akaavi as a companion, but I was getting that vibe from Risha, as least from the first conversations I've done with her. I wished I could ask her to stop using her "sexy" voice on me, it has no effect and makes me O.o, lol

In Corso's defense, he's the non-Force powered version of Luke Skywalker here. BOTH lost their families in an attack by either Imperial or Imperial allied forces. They're both farmboys.

Corso won me over as a bud for life when I first discovered he NAMES his weapons. Tbh, I have named a few of my rifles and my sidearm when I was in back in the day, and my privately owned weapons as well. So yeah, I may not be as down-home farm-raised as he is, but I can relate to his love of firearms. :D

"Torchy is a genuine BlasTech ALT-25 with side mounted range finder and scope, and she's WAY too good for Skavak!" I grinned and chuckled. :D

I find that any companion I get after Balmorra (Taris for Empire) has an uphill battle to get me to care about them, especially if they're supposed to be a romance option. I can only think of one Hoth companion that I really, really like (Talos <3), the rest I am mostly indifferent towards at best (I actively dislike Temple). And if I get them even later? I have no cares available for them.

Special shout out to Kira, though. She isn't pointless, but I got tired of her Sassy! Girl! Sidekick! crap after about ten minutes.

Corso Riggs. As a character he's fine, but my scoundrel has fairly low survivability and he doesn't have the greatest defense either. And I have to use him because Bowdaar sucks. I'm caught between a wookiee and a hard place :(

I can't help but like the guy. Playing a male Smuggler I can't romance him, but having him around as a buddy is awesome. Not to mention he's surprisingly philosophical in the personal convos.

The only companion I'm completely "meh" on so far is Khem Val. I hear he gets better once you get up to a certain affection level with him, but for the moment I'm getting sick of hearing about his mancrush on Tulak Hord.

Khem Val has a sense of humor that makes the Dune Sea look like a good place to swim, but has me chuckling at the most unexpected times with some of his wisecracks.

On Nar Shaddaa: "I have a good Sabacc face. That was a joke. I HATE Sabacc."

When talking to Skotia and you ask him if he can eat Skotia: "More machine than man. Bad for the digestion."

And my personal favorite about Tatooine: "We could destroy this place and nobody would notice."

For my characters...

Imperial Agent: Kaliyo Djannis. I get that she's useful on Hutta. Her usefulness in the story ends the moment you go to the Imperial Fleet. She leaks intelligence about the Empire to anarchists, gets sulky and angry when you dare object to that and says she'll never change, gets incredibly *****y any time you have the gall to suggest she deal with the consequences of her actions, and will blackmail you into dealing with said consequences. Even goddamn SCORPIO is more trustworthy than Kaliyo. Why the hell isn't Kaliyo floating in space sans space suit?

Sith Warrior: Vette. Not Broonmark, because every Sith Lord deserves a giant berserk monster on a lesh. Vette, though... she just doesn't seem to get that she serves a Lord of the Sith. I took her collar off because I expected her to respect her position, but I find her personality insufferable. It might be because my Sith Warrior is female, but Vette seems to think she's worked her way up to kid sister status. No, Vette, you have not. You are useful for your skills at infiltration and breaking through security systems. So long as you are useful you shall have some degree of freedom and be rewarded for your deeds. You want to earn your way into my high esteem? Go take care of your own personal matters. They are beneath a Sith Lord.

Bounty Hunter: Skadge. You're jumping out of this ship in the skies over Mustafar the polar regions of Hoth without supplies or a parachute.

Trooper: Actually, I like all the Trooper's companions. They all have a good place in the story.

Trooper story gets weak near the end imo, but I like how you and your companions make up Havoc Squad. It's a hodgepodge of personalities but they all have a meaningful position - your by-the-book medic, zealot droid mascot, bizarro tracker, sociopath demo specialist, and grumpy taskmaster XO (if he's not your XO you're wrong!). In the other characters I've played I've only felt that fun team feeling with the BH.

The Imperial Agent also has a bit of that feel with Lokin, Vector, and Temple. They all like opera and music, and get along pretty well when they're not plotting or manipulating each other. Even SCORPIO eventually warms to the crew after her fashion, if you're crazy enough to get a high level of affection with her. Then you have Kaliyo, whom the crew is pretty unanimous in hating.

Because she's a sexy bald girl with a sexy voice and sexy style. Us guys like that sorta thing sometimes.

Sith Warrior: Vette. Not Broonmark, because every Sith Lord deserves a giant berserk monster on a lesh. Vette, though... she just doesn't seem to get that she serves a Lord of the Sith. Vette is cute and sassy, and plays perfect counterpoint to a DS SW, or the perfect compliment to a LS SW.

Bounty Hunter: Skadge. You're jumping out of this ship in the skies over Mustafar the polar regions of Hoth without supplies or a parachute.

Ok, here we are in FULL agreement. Skadge is an oxygen thief from the word go.

Trooper: Actually, I like all the Trooper's companions. They all have a good place in the story.

Tanno Vik needs to be in the Republic version of Ft. Leavenworth at the very least. Every time he opens his mouth, I want to pull my sidearm and execute him. Wish they would have given me the option of taking Fuse instead, tbh. I still firmly believe he's Garza's revenge for all the times we disobey her orders to complete the mission right. :p
