  1. When I played WoW it seemed like Vent was the only thing anyone ever used, so for years I only had Vent and was very resistant to DL anything else when ToR came out and I met people using TS and Mumble. But then I realized they take like 2 minutes to get and set up, and there's no point in not having all three. If I WAS going to arbitrarily refuse to get one of them, it would be Mumble though, not Vent!
  2. Shopping the CM is not a playstyle. It's an online store. Sure you can use things you buy there in game, but if your 'playstyle' is 'I buy outfits/speeders/pets on the CM and drive around fleet with them' you should probably look into Second Life. You can say that 'casual' is a playstyle, and sure, I think some mounts should be made available through casual play (and there are). But you're just being entitled to demand all the mounts when you refuse to participate in all parts of the game. Besides, if this mount were actually on the CM you wouldn't care about it. It only seems cool because very few members of the player base have access to it, so when you see someone with it you know they're awesome, and then you want it to. If every mouth breather with a credit card could get one, it would lose 80% of its appeal.
  3. If you have max affection with vette and you've completed her companion missions then yes, you are locked out my friend. If you haven't started Act III yet, then there may be hope.
  4. Yeah as far as cutesy girls go Vette knocks Mako out of the park. More funny and less whine. But we're all beautiful snowflakes, my favorite comps are Jorgan, Gault, Andronikos, and I'm more confused about Vector but just listing him anyway.
  5. Hmm I believe I see what you're saying, though I'm not sure it's necessary. The lore-conscious player will likely level through every planet's story content, and as such will experience every bit of story content sequentially until they hit 50. At 50 it admittedly gets a bit confusing, maybe. The end of the class quest leads you to Ilum. In real time they later released the Black Hole, and then later Section X. Honestly the 'story' of these zones is pretty insular - as long as you do Black Hole after you did Corellia and Section X after Belsavis, it's fine. They don't really compete with Ilum on a timeline if I'm remember them right, so not being sure which 50 daily area to do first won't really mess up any continuity even if you do them 'out of order.' Makeb however does need to be completed after finishing Ilum (and thus the class story)(also Battle of Ilum and False Emperor) if you don't want any holes. I would think someone interested in the storylines would do Ilum (and the connected FPs) since the class quests really do funnel you in there. Although I know there was an issue with your ship's holo giving you a spoiler-ridden quest to go to Makeb when you hit 48 or so and unlikely not done with story. If they haven't fixed that yet sheeesh. I can see some traps for those not wanting spoilers via the LFG system. If you queue for an FP while finishing your class story on Corellia you could very well get BoI or FE. I have no idea how your toggle idea could even work, but I'd suggest BW marking those FPs, as well as BP, Foundry, etc. as 'story FPs' or something, and then defining a story FP as one that is a continuation or culmination of a plot begun by quests planet-side. Most people would ignore this, but the lore-conscious person who doesn't want to be confused or have things spoiled wouldn't.
  6. You're asking to not have to do any side quests? I believe that option is already available.
  7. Gave this thread 5 stars. The higher level players get no XP from the mobs of FPs they get randomly put into (seriously why can that even happen), and their mere presence robs the lower level players of the XP they'd otherwise get. Lose lose here! Tighten up the level windows so no one is fighting gray mobs, and loosen the level range where XP isn't nerfed.
  8. It's just a shameless ploy to get people on the facebook page. I suppose it's annoying, but I still went because I was curious (although I DID check dulfy first because I'd rather not indulge this sort of thing, but dulfy wasn't up yet). Pretty uninspiring, as someone else said, but these packs usually are. So yes let's let BW know we think they're being annoying and stupid, but no need to get so frothy since dulfy is up to date now if you're on on such a crusade against facebook you won't even give them a hit.
  9. I love long epic quest chains, but epic weapons in this game would probably be pretty underwhelming. I mean, Snipers, Commandos, and to a lesser extent Operatives and Vanguards are the only classes that use weapons even big enough to be noticeably cool looking or eye-catching (which come on, is the main selling point of the epic weapon). Lightsaber hilts are pretty boring, and cooler color possibilities for the crystals are guaranteed CM items. As for blasters, honestly I don't care what my PT uses because the thing's barely noticeable. Also any cool-looking weapon idea they come up with (just look at that Cathar War Staff thing) is going on the CM. They'd probably consider using the coolest design they could come up with on a weapon that should be very difficult to get and (hopefully) sub only as a waste when it could be a on the CM raking it in. But epic quests for comps I'd like to see more of (like HK but longer and less... boring)... maybe one to get a new spaceship would be cool... even just a title and I'd do it.
  10. Either a DA or an ME MMO... I'd pee my pants in excitement.
  11. For people filling chat with nonsense I prefer report spam. In my dreams maybe some punishment will befall them. But for the people that make it on my ignore list, I don't really care how big it gets or if I have to wait any longer in queue (though since I'm either tank or heals and I overwhelmingly ignore DPS, I doubt its affecting me), because as someone else said, I'd rather not play at all if I have to play with them.
  12. It was 2.1 for me. I went from never waiting for anything to load to growing used to waiting for the bank, mission terminals, and the worst offender, the customization kiosk, to appear. I imagine new players are confused about a lot of fleet amenities. As for people missing the advanced specialization mission, in an ideal world if you show up on Coruscant/Kaas unspecialized you get chewed out by Zash/Barus/Keeper/Crysta/Garza/whoever for not being more observant.
  13. Yeah I saw 5 seconds of a video of her speaking and I said no. I think literally any other species and I'd get it. And damn the poster above for me for mentioning Ortolans! Now I'm just depressed.
  14. You basically said you hoped anyone who gave you words of caution wouldn't be so bitter and angry anymore about their own failed romances. Perhaps passive aggressive wasn't the right term. More like condescending.
  15. What? If a minimum gearcheck is not casual-friendly, then the 55 HM FPs themselves are not casual-friendly. Gearcheck would be a lot more friendly than votekick actually.
  16. Operative/Scoundrel's AOE heal is capped at 4 people. I think the same is true as well for the Merc/Commando. The easiest fix would just be to increase the cap, but unless Ops were also bumped up to 10 and 20 mans, then the damage output in Ops would need to adjusted since Operatives and Mercs just got buffed essentially. There would most definitely be some healing/damage rebalancing going on. Personally I don't mind the group size too much, pretty irrelevant to me. I'm betting BW thought the small size was very casual friendly, since this was back before there was an LFG. LFG is what really makes the group size seem too small for the DPS population. If all groups were still forming in guilds/general chat and they were willing to do the work to form them, they'd likely find a set up pretty quick.
  17. What you and the OP are really not getting is that it's possible to be critical of the game and not want it to fail. Some of the criticism is constructive, some not, but everyone complaining does it because they want the game to be better, to continue being fun, to become more fun, and for them to have more reasons to log in. I doubt anyone on these forums, no matter how disappointed in the game/BW/EA, wants it to tank unless they're writing some "SUB CANCELED GUYS" post. Obviously some demands are outrageous and some people express themselves aggressively and rudely, but BW really doesn't need the white knights suppressing dissent for them. (1) They are interested in reading the dissent I'm sure, even if they just dismiss it out of hand. (2) Forum morale is likely not their most reliable metric for how people are feeling. They have figures on account activity, subscription activity, cartel market activity, that tells them a lot more. If you disagree with someone's complaints and are able to express that disagreement with an actual positive reason (i.e. not an accusation of entitlement) of why you like... the 500 CC gift, the Ewok for CCs, the CM philosophy, etc. then that's great. I bet BW likes to read that too. But this thread? Entirely not constructive toward any goal than causing disagreement and drama within the community. Way to be.
  18. Yeah this is also a good point. People say a simple gear check would empower gear score elitists, but deflating them is more likely. You usually see them insisting people vastly overgear the content (because these elitists are interestingly enough usually terrible players), and when there's no recommendation or gear threshold to enter the FP, it can be tough to defend yourself against them. But if the game bars entry to some but deems you worthy, you have a nice number to point at. Sure you might still fail for skill reasons, but the group has to at least give you a chance before deciding that. Very little is actually needed to complete a 55 HM FP or SM Op, but I've seen plenty of people denied (especially to Op runs) because people really don't understand that.
  19. We bought a game that is currently being given away for free. We now choose the option to pay money and in return we expect goods in return. BW is not a charity, we are purchasing things. Any complaints made are by people who feel the deal isn't great. If you think the deal is a good one, then that's good for you. But people can complain all they want, and I cannot fathom why you'd care to hinder them. If they succeed subscribers would get more things. YOU would get more things. You think people want BW to spoil them, that people feel entitled to more. Well, it's BW's decision what they get, and since you think subs get enough as it is, it doesn't seem like you should really have a stake in this argument. If BW ignores complaints/requests you're still happy, but if they respond and give presents then you get presents. And the point of this thread is...? BW doesn't need you to protect them. Trust me, they won't be bullied into giving subs any more than they care to.
  20. I've played through Imp-side Makeb three times now, and on the last I did the romance with Cytharat and was so crushingly disappointed. Going through the first two times I was excited for my Mara, as I usually imagined him as having some very amusing non-BW official time with Quinn and here he was about to meet a Sith who looked adorably just like him. But alas. The flirts weren't particularly fun and Cytharat barely reacted. I found out no more about him or felt like my Mara knew him any better than my Operative or my Powertech. The kiss was nice, but then those who 'romanced' him didn't even get a special letter in the mail. So yeah I don't know if BW officially termed this romance but it doesn't even qualify as a fling. More like a 'maybe someday...' kind of deal. If they bring back Cytharat in a meaningful way, though, then this is forgivable, but I still maintain they could have done more.
  21. While it sounds exclusionary, as long as it's done right (for example, minimum gear level would be campaign or perhaps even rakata), what is so friggin bad about this idea? Yes votekick is there, but we all know votekick doesn't always fix everything. When there are multiple deficients in a group, when they're all bad and all in the same guild... Sure you can request they kick you so you don't have a LFG cooldown, but if you're DPS you just wasted upwards of 45 minutes waiting just for the privilege of being votekicked, and now you get to wait again and hope things go better this time. A low gear threshold would prevent only the most egregious offenders from queuing, saving other players from them and also sending them a message that they need to put a little thought into their character before queuing up for certain things. Of course not all bad groups would be prevented. It's not really possible to implement a skill check, but gear check definitely is possible. Gear check wouldn't guarantee a good group, but only increase the chance of getting one. And if you're waiting a long time in the queue, you want the best odds. The only good point against is the scenario where you willingly want to take an undergeared character along. It's not very strong though considering how easy it is to get that basic level of gear required of 55 HMs. Do a 50 HM, or 50 operation, or enter the 55 HM not through the group finder. It's not like queuing 55 HMs is the fast-track to gear anyway. It's actually the abysmally slow track, and getting bad groups just makes it a bit slower.
  22. Bowcasters again? You're totally right OP. I didn't like bowcasters the first time around and didn't get one, and now I won't get one again when they could have designed something cooler that would appeal to me. The devs should have consulted us. Oh wait you're just a brat. But I'm totally serious that bowcasters are lame.
  23. They're all fat and ugly, and you know because you keep asking for their pictures. You sound very handsome and I feel sorry for all these online girls rejected by you.
  24. I married a man I met in WoW in similar circumstances. Lasted about 3 years and ended for reasons totally unrelated to how it began. In fact when I think back on it, it seems unreal how we met since our relationship didn't feel forced or weird or what-have-you compared to ones with men I've met more conventionally. If you want to be together and one of you is willing to move, I wouldn't get married though unless its for a residence reason, and even then I think there's like, a 90-day fiance visa (in the US at least, but don't quote me).
  25. Well as I recall, you haven't officially defected yet, you're not even a double agent, i.e. in contact with the SIS at all. Jedi SIS guy just promises you that when the Republic is ready to make a move, they will get in touch with you for your help. In the meantime you're told to maintain the facade of loyal Imp. Giving away the Empire on Makeb could have blown your cover and whatever use you were going to be to the SIS - and 'maintaining your cover' is really the main justification for whatever the Agent does after the class story is over. Honestly that's just a justification since the story on Makeb was so uninvolved with the class stories, we can hardly expect it to acknowledge the intricacies of the IA story ending since it fails to handle even the simpler class stories.
