It's not that WoW invented April Fool's jokes... but come on. This is EXACTLY what Blizzard has done on their WoW website every April 1st since 2005.

And LOTRO, and DDO, and COH and Gemstone (way older than WOW) April Fools Jokes on MMOS is not a new thing. So I guess they all copied WOW, even Gemstone, right? Seriously, take it for what it was, a little fun. If you don't like it, go away.

They almost had me til the one with droids hooking up. That is where they blew it. That was far fetched. I could maybe believe the oil bath for the droid, like in A New Hope that C-3PO had got. Playing the old Super NES Star Wars game on there would have been cool.

At first I did like the concept, until the final few videos. I actually thought cool maybe my droid would stop staying the same few garbage lines every time I returned to the ship and then like everyone else I realized it was an April Fools joke.

But if BioWare was to do something like this concept (e.g. Mini-Game) it would be nice to have the ability to tune out some of the droid garbage.

Cruising around the galaxy in your own personal starship is an important aspect of Star Wars™: The Old Republic™. The player’s starship is like a home, and the player’s companions are like a family. No one knows this better than the dedicated Ship Droids who maintain the vessels: C2-N2 for Republic characters and 2V-R8 for Imperial characters.

Jedi Knights, Smugglers, Bounty Hunters and the other class characters may be the heroes in the wider galaxy, but on board the starship, the Ship Droids are the heroes. That’s why, as part of Game Update 1.2, you will soon be able to assume direct control over your Droid’s actions with Ship Droid™, a brand new mini-game coming to The Old Republic!
